First time AMEX application - Approved for 2 cards!!

Business credit. Also, I'm looking into buying a slightly used car and my debt to credit ratio would be under 30% by next August in addition to the next credit cards I intend to get and raise CLs on in the meantime. this may be outside the scope of this thread, but I intend on purchasing its small property and fixing it up then getting it reappraised for at least $10,000 for a next investment.

Some background info: I started out with Equifiax score of 423 in 2011 when I signed up for credit monitoring and have hammered away at all debts since then. $900 left in student loans total to this today. This morning my Experian Fico score updated to 657 with a credit ulitization of 31% after I paid down my balances. Equifax was 578 and TransUnion was 684, although AMEX doesn't pull from these. I paid off all collections with pay for delete except with AFNI which I'm currently disputing. Also, there is a judgement with Capital One also setlled. Both negative accounts are over three years old. I started with a bank credit card $500 CL, bank $1000 installment loan and 2 secured cards in June 2014, both $500CL. I closed the secured cards and upgrageded to 2 CapOne cards (Journey and Quicksilver One) later that December. I've made steady on time payments on all accounts since the secured cards. Two months ago, my CL doubled to $1000 on both CapOne cards automatically. Today: I applied online for the Amex Blue Cash (not preferred. I wanted free anuual cards) and was instantly approved. I created an account online and noticed there was only a $1000 credit limit. I decided to apply for a 2nd since it couldn't hurt much. I decided on the EveryDay card. I was prompted to call Customer service. Phone conversationRep "I see there was a duplicate application"Me "I applied for a second card. I usually apply for two cards at a time. However, I pay all my credit cards on time. I've done it for the past three years and don't intend to ever stop. Check my credit report."Rep "We usually put a hold on second applications for 5 days"Me -silent-Rep "Tell you what, I will make an exception for you. As a matter of fact I will make two. First, I just approved your second card. Second exception I will make is that I will have your cards shipped with expidited shipping. You will receive both in 2-3 days."Me "Thank you. I have heard how great AMEX was and its a breath of fresh air to have a such a great company to work with."
Rep "Thank you sir, I wish you a great day"Me "Thanks brother, you too" I told the rep I apply for 2 cards at once because I do. Two secured cards at the same time in June 2014, two CapOne cards in December 2014, and now two AMEX in July 2015. My experian report does show "No payments missed in 3 years". Speaking honestly about the diligence you put into your finances will pay off. Approved for Venture card (Visa signature), 10K limit!

My white whale is the CSP and I apply once per year and get declined everytime. I have a freedom with a toy limit, $500. I've had it for almost 2 years and they never increase my limit. I decided that I would app for the Slate and I was approved with another toy limit, $500. I figured that I had pretty much maxed myself out for the number of credit cards I was eligible for (I now have 8).Well, I went to capital one and saw the venture card and thought, why not. Well, to my shock I was approved for 10K. I was floored. In my long life, I haven't had a credit card with a limit higher than $1800. It is my understanding that Chase likes to see, among other things, that you have a credit card with at least 5K. I'm hoping this new Venture limit will allow me to get a CSP in about a year.Also, I believe that I should consolidate my other credit cards onto the Venture. Question: Is it better to leave the venture with zero to 10% usage and leave my other cards with balances? Or, transfer all balances to the venture, putting it at 75% usage, while my other cards will be at 0% ? BTW, myfico TU is 695 and I am at 90% usage on all other cards.

New job & multiple cards at 90% is definitely not the time to apply for premium cards then. Get those balances paid way, way down & as many as you can completely paid off. In 6 months, you might be able to get that "Holy Grail" card you keep trying for.shasta wrote:

First time plugging in External for TM?

Can you please tell me how I partition the External HD before I plug in the MBP. It's a 500gb with a Firewire port 800 and 400, should I use this instead of the USB, and on a first connect will it be a lot quicker? And which one, 800 or 400? MBP 2011.
The MBP is 320 and the External 500, can I partition and use the remainder for other things? If so, how would I do that easily? If it's 320 and I plug it in weekly to back up is this a long process and should I not need more than 320 despite me reading about people running out of space, Is this because it keeps all different versions instead of just the last few?
Does TM back up software like Photoshop/Office etc?

It's hard to know where everyone is at when they post here. And many get offended when you presume they are new to mac's.
Let me run you through my setup.
I have a 500GB Drive in my Macbook Pro. I backup my files using Time Machine to a 2TB (2000GB) External Drive. Granted, the drive in my MBP is pretty full, you will find that yours becomes full too. May that be in 2 months, 6 months, or a year. So it's best to follow Pondini's advice and get a much bigger Drive for your backups.
When Time Machine runs, it backs up the entire Drive the first time it runs. After that, it scans your Drive for files that have changed / been added. It then updates those changes to your Time Machine Backup Drive. So say if my Drive is 400GB full, I back it up, and make 10GB of changes over the next week. It's going to make the original 400GB backup, and then an updated 10GB update = 410GB total required space. Now do this over and over, it will quickly add up in space.
Now if you have a 500GB drive in your MBP, and you backup to a 320GB. When your MBP get's to about 200GB full, your going to have to get a bigger Time Machine Backup Drive, forcing you to pretty much start the backups again from scratch, and not be able to actually recover any of the previous backups you created. So you see that would defeat the purpose, and getting a bigger Drive now, will save you much headache in the future.
You can still use that one if you wish, perhaps to manually backup some important documents etc.
So does that make more sense?

My first time to order part on gsx for a customer.I need a hand.

1. It's a normal default setting for the bios screen to show the logo. I personally don't like it, so I turned it off. You can access it in the "Advanced BIOS" page of the bios.
2. Something must be in error to have the system stop booting. The bios only stops on errors. I wouldn't be overly concerned yet though. Default settings on the board make it stop on all errors. It should give you a reason why it's stopping so look at the screen when it stops and tells you to hit F1. That should give you an idea of what needs fixing.
3. Just turn off the RAID function. It's in the "Integrated Peripherals" screen.
4. Could be any number of reasons, checking your memory would be a good first step. As to Windows only seeing it as 131GB, that's probably because you installed with an older version of Windows XP, before SP1. Back then it couldn't see drives bigger then around 139GB. Install SP2 and you shouldn't have a problem. Just make sure that your BIOS sees it as 186GB. That's what 200GB drives usually show up as.

The quickest way to charge your iPad is with the included 10W USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter. When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.

Payment Card Status (PaCa) status Not Approved for authorized card in VKM3

We are noticing that SAP is displaying payment card status as 'B' (Not Approved) in VKM3 even though the order has been successfully authorized with the credit card. Does anyone has any idea why and when SAP does that? Any help would be highly appreciated.

Was the status set to be during the Order Save in CREATE mode? Or was it set to 'B' sometime later? Are there any subsequent documents yet?
You can debug the code in FORM PRUEFUNG_KK_AUFTRAGE in INCLUDE LVKMPF0L where this status is set during Order Save. I know that there are several OSS notes available which affect this INCLUDE and FORM, so it may even be that you need to apply some OSS notes - depending on the version of R/3 or ERP you are running.
You'll want to watch the value in fields DA_COST and DA_AUTWR. Those are the values SAP compares to determine if the status should be set to 'B' or not.

First time scheduling using IP30 for Multiple Counter plan

Hi,
I created a multiple counter plan with Cycle set as 6months/ 300 Operations.
I intend to start the job early and updated the Planned Counter date as 1st Sep 2014.I maintained Lead Float as 10 days.
When I run IP10, call is generated successfully. But when I execute IP30, no call is generated.
We have not activated enhanced functionality of Multiple Counter plans.
I checked all the parameters and everything seemd to be fine. In IP30, I checked the check boxes - Rescheduling & Immediate start of all.
In the field, Interval for Call Objects, I ran with blank value, 30 days value. But in both the cases, call is not generated.
I want to generate calls using IP30 only as there are lot of multiple counter plans. Can anybody suggest a solution to this issue?

Why can't I hear sound from my keynote presentation while using Apple TV? Presentation is in 5 days and this is my first time using the iPad for presentation.

How to prevent a first time login prompt for an external application.

I'm doing a Portal iFS integration project. We managed to login to our iFS application via an external application definition in the Login Server. We created a JSP screen to create iFS users. In the back-end java-code uses the Portal API to create a Portal user. When this new user uses the external application link for the first time he gets a Portal screen to supply the external username/password combination. Can someone answer the following questions:
1. How can I customize the layout of this first time external application login screen just like the you can customize the standard portal "login/change password" screens ?
2. Is there an API to specifiy the external username/password combination for a specific portal user and specific external application in advance in order to prevent the firsttime login screen ?
Any help/answers would be great. We need to implement this in a few weeks.

There is an API -- WWSSO_PSTORE_EX which is in $IAS_HOME/portal30/admin/plsql/sso/ssopsex.pks which includes APIs
for accessing the password store. Please see the package specification here, which is not wrapped. This API is generally private to the SSO schema, but it is granted for EXECUTE to the
PORTAL30_PS schema - which is the schema provided for access to the password store.

When working in Tiger or Panther if I click on a document eg: word, illustrator, photoshop, indesign. and the application that is supposed to open this document is not open already. You get a warning message. that says "you are opening application "xyz" for the first time are you sure you want to open it. " Even though this is not the first time the application has been launched. However if you launch the application from the applications folder or from the dock the warning does not appear.
How do you disable this warning or at least correctly inform the OS that the application has been opened before.application
This happens from clean installs and those that have their launch services database cleared the link from document to application survives a logout but not a restart. I know it is a security feature and not a bug but it would be nice to know where this cache/.plist is and why it is suffering from amnesia.
