First time opening box

I keep getting this box coming up saying it is the first time you have open this program but it is not. Please can anyone help?

Is it in the Applications folder?
Have you checked "Don't warn me when opening applications on this disk image", forget exactly where that is.

Send email only first time check box is checked?

I am trying to set up an article insert form with a checkbox for requesting a photographer. I have it set up to send a photographer request email when the form is submitted and the checkbox is checked. The only problem is that on the update transactions it detects the checkbox checked and sends the email AGAIN. I can't delete the trigger from the update form since it may be checked for the first time there. What I am really looking for is a way to only send the email only the FIRST time a box is checked. Is there a way I might be able to get this to work? Or an easy workaround? Hopefully I am explaining this well. Any help or ideas would be appreciated. Thanks,

well, the only workaround I can think of would be adding this checkbox
(assumingly submitting a Y/N value) to the insert/update transaction, means, to save the checkbox value in an extra (char 1) field named e.g. "email_sent" -- on your update page you can retrieve the current field value from the query and use this "status" as "condition" for sending an email, means, if the field´s value currently equals N, the email will be sent, otherwise not.
would that make sense ?

Used lsregister, now keep getting app first time opening warnings

I used the command
/System/Library/Frameworks/CoreServices.framework/Frameworks/LaunchServices.framework/Support/lsregister -kill -r -domain local -domain system -domain user
to try to solve a problem I was having (right-clicking on a file, the "open with" menus were often displaying multiple entries for the same app). This command seems to have solved that problem but now I have a new issue as a result:
After restarting my mac, trying to open a file with an app I've used many time before (the app is the pdf reader Skim), I get a message from the OS that I am opening the app for the first time and whether I wish to proceed. For some reason, each time I restart my mac, it forgets I have previously used this app. (This behavior also occurs with a few other apps, but not all apps are effected.)
Have I screwed things up by using the lsregister command? Is there a way to fix this?

Back up all data.
If you have more than one user account, you must be logged in as an administrator to carry out these instructions.
Select the text on the line below by dragging across it. Don't include the blank space at the end of the line. Only the text should be highlighted.
sudo xattr -d -r com.apple.quarantine
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C).
Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Paste into the Terminal window (command-V), then press the space bar.
Now switch to the Finder and and select the item(s) that are causing the problem. Drag the items into the Terminal window. More text will be added to what you entered.
Click in the Terminal window to activate it, then press return.
You'll be prompted for your login password, which won't be displayed when you type it. You may get a one-time warning not to screw up. You don't need to post the warning. If you don’t have a login password, you’ll need to set one before you can run the command. If you see a message that your username "is not in the sudoers file," then you're not logged in as an administrator.
The command will take a noticeable amount of time to run. Wait for a new line ending in a dollar sign (“$”) to appear. You can then quit Terminal.

ScreenSaverEngine first time open alert

A little over a week ago I updated my machine to Snow Leopard (and the 10.6.1 update). I have had my screen saver (built in picture displayer) kick in numerous times since. Suddenly this morning, I got the alert that is shown when an application is downloaded from the net: "You are opening the application ScreenSaverEngine for the first time. Are you sure you want to open this application? ..."
It is my understanding that this happens when the digital signature of the application is not seen or recognized. However, this is an application that comes with the OS. Is this an OS bug and I can safely open it, or should I be concerned that the file have been corrupted - in which case how do I fix it?
BTY, I do have a Time Machine backup and can go back to just after my Snow Leopard update. Any reason not to just restore that?

Got the same problem here.
Seems I got rid of it by updating my LaunchServices database :
1) Open the Terminal, and log in with an admin account (by using su and/or sudo for example) if your current OSX account does not have admin privileges.
2) Go to the LaunchServices.framework' Support directory :
*cd /System/Library/Frameworks/CoreServices.framework/Frameworks/LaunchServices.fra mework/Support*
+(Note: in previous OSX versions, it was a subframework of ApplicationServices and not CoreServices, the path has changed since)+
3) Use the "lsregister" commande line tool found in this directory to do a rescan/rebuild of your LaunchServices database. You can e.g. update your whole database with this command :
*./lsregister -r -apps local,system,user*
+(Or you can specify the path to the ScreenSaverEngine.app itself directly as a parameter)+
After the LaunchService database has been rebuild, you should be good with ScreenSaverEngine (you can use an active corner to launch it immediately and check if the fix worked).

First time opening crash

Hello everyone, just installed for the 1st time Aperture on my iMac but it doesn't open at all. It gives me this message:
Dyld Error Message:
Library not loaded: /Library/Frameworks/PluginManager.framework/Versions/B/PluginManager
Referenced from: /Applications/Aperture.app/Contents/MacOS/Aperture
Reason: image not found
what should I do? I've all the specification for using it I've an iMac Version 10.6.8... thanks to anyone who will answer

Hello Erik,
there seems to be an important peace of software missing in your System Library. Check if it is really missing by opening your Library.
Activate the Finder, from the Finder Menu select "GO" -> "Go to Folder" and enter: "/Library/Frameworks"
In the Finder Window that appears navigate to /PluginManager.framework/Versions and check if the Subfolder "B" exists and contains the current PluginManager. If it is not there, you need to reinstall it.
If you have a Time Machine Backup of your System, restore it like this:
drag the System Library Folder to your Sidebar for easy access,
then activate Time Machine, with your Library Folder still open
go back in time till you find the missing frame work and restore it.
I hope this will work; if you cannot restore the framework from a backup, then you will have to reinstall your system.

First Time Open Script Question

I received a PDF form that I didn't create and the way that it is setup is that each text box has a script under it I believe its the FirstTime value script so when the form is opened the text box displays the wording. My question is...is there a way or script where I can have one word underline?? When I try it with just using the button it underlines the whole thing. Any help on this a greatly appreciated.

You are loading richtext into the field so it is not as easy as setting the rawvalue like you have above. You will have to create an xHTML equivalent of what you want to load and then load it into the field when you are ready. The easiest way I have found to do this is to create what I want in a field then to get what the xHTML that represents that do a console.println(fieldname.value.exData.saveXML(); This will copy the xHTML to the javascript console. Then you can see what it looks like and adjust as you see fit .....when you are ready to load it again you would use fieldname.value.exData.loadXML(string that holds the xHTML, 1, 1); The two other paraneters that you pass determine whether to concate with what is there or overwrite it ...this is documented in the loadXML command.

InDesign CS4 Error 5 on first time opening program after installing.

Loaded InDesign CS4 on iMAC 10.9.4. All other Adobe CS4 STD Suite applications work well.
In-Design CS4 program would not open and gave me the Error 5 message.
I rebooted as suggested and received the same error.
Obviously I need the InDesign application to open. Please help.

Itunes wont open just re-instail it opened first time and now it wont

I had a problem with quicktime that forced me to unstail it and itunes and after the first time opening itunes after re-instailing it, it wont open. What am I supposed to do?

i recently updated itunes when it prompted me....it was working fine until after the update
now it just flashes on the screen for all of a second when i try to open it, then disappears and that error box comes up
i did the repair several times, then deleted it completely and reinstalled it, but i still get the same message
is there anyone from apple we can contact about this?? i've been without itunes for about a week now

Opening application first time warning comes up every time

Since upgrading to snow leopard I get the "You are opening the application----- for the first time" dialog box every time I open some applications (not sure if it does it on all apps)
Is there a fix for stopping this?

Thanks for the quick reply. I tried what you suggested but it didn't help. So far I've noticed this problem with Across Lite V2.0 (new york times crossword application) and filemaker pro 7.0
The permissions looked OK on Across Lite but it won't open by double clicking the App icon (box comes up saying the app is damaged) The program opens by double clicking the individual puzzle files (along with the "opening first time warning". I tried downloading a new Across Lite App but it does the same thing.
I noticed a small cloudy spot on the Snow Leopard upgrade disk. Could this cause behavior problems? Or would it not load at all if there was a flaw?
Any ideas?

Firefox is taking a long time to open the first time I click on it and also a dialouge box comes up stating firefox is already running, but is not responding, you must close existing firefox process? What is going on?

After I start my computer in the morning, I go to my email, then I click on firefox, with google as my homepage, it takes a long time for firefox to show up on the computer. It says it is connecting, then when I close firefox, and go to reopen it again, a dialog box opens up that says firefox is already running and I must close existing firefox process first. I have not run into this problem before.

* The first time you start up any application after turning on your computer is called a cold start, which is why Firefox takes a while to load right away. (I've noticed that future versions of Firefox start up faster on a cold start then Firefox 5.0.1.) Also, a lower amount of RAM could be slowing its start-up down since Firefox is kind of memory hungry.
* As for the second part of your question, press ctrl,Alt, and the delete keys on your keyboard. The Windows Task Manager should start. Go to the processes tab and look for 'firefox.exe'. Right click on the firefox.exe and click 'End Process'. Hit Yes and wait for a minute.
* Then opening Firefox again.

Where did you purchase this. The US phones do not come with the SIM removal tool anymore. They haven't for some time now. I'm not even sure it comes with any of the devices anymore. You can just straighten out a paper clip and do the same thing.

A computer can be authorized to play content purchased using a particular Apple ID (the iTunes Store account). However, being authoized to play content is not directly related to being able to buy content using that Apple ID.
For example, a parent may purchase content for a child and authorize the child's computer to play that content, but that does not mean the child is able to purchase content using that Apple ID.
If this is your Apple ID, you should know the answers to the security questions. If you do not, you'll need to contact Apple iTunes Store customer support

I cannot view PDF in Firefox at the first time but once I manually open the PDF file from my local computer, I can view other PDF files via Firefox webbrowser

I install Adobe Acrobat 9 in my laptop which runs on windows 7. I use Firefox 3.6.8 and have the problem with the PDF file. The problem is I cannot open the PDF file in Firefox web browser at the first time I launch firefox. It shows a warning box without any message. Only OK button is shown so I can close it. However, if I manage to open the PDF file from my local computer by just using adobe acrobat itself then the PDF can be opened in the Firefox web browser. I followed the instruction on the mozilla help but nothing works for me. The problem still exists. I wonder if anyone have the same problem like me and know how to solve this. Thank you so much

I cannot help you, but I think we have a common problem: We got a system here running Vista SP1 with Acrobat 9 standard on it. When we open a pdf file it works normally, but when we open another pdf file, we see the first one in that second window.
Think that missing option to watch several files within a single window-thing messed up more than meets the eye ... but as we just purchased the 15 licenses, we have to use version 9.
I didn't find any clues on this problem, but I will post any new hints I get.

Problem opening trial version the first time.

Downloaded and installed free trial on PC with Win7. Open the program, sign in with Adobe ID, get the circling blue "thinking" boxes, nothing happens....tried many times. Reset password. Restarted computer. Checked internet connection. No luck. Is this fixable? I'd like to try out the trial, but it won't open the program without the login

I have the exact same problem! When launching the trial Acrobat XI Pro the first time, it asks you to sign up with your username and password.
When I do so, it starts signing in.....and in the meanwhile it's taking about 45 minutes and still nothing happened.
But I have no problems signing in with the same username and password through adobe.com .....
