Firwire cable not fitting into new imac 24"!

My imac 24" has just arrived...
I bought a 6 pin to 6 pin firewire cable to migrate my stuff from my G4.
The cable fits into the G4 but not the imac 24"!!!!
What am i doing wrong?
Also,can i migrate stuff later after playing around withthe new imac?

The only things i definatley will migrate will be documents,photos and itunes library.
No, it's not too late. You can still connect the two systems via Firewire Target Disk Mode and use the Migration Assistant (in your iMac's Applications -> Utilities folder) to bring over all your documents. Or you can just drag them over manually.
I don't recommend migrating applications from a PowerPC-based Mac to an Intel-based one. It's rare, but sometimes it has happened that the Migration Assistant overwrites a previouly-installed Intel-native app with the PowerPC-based one. I don't think Migration Assistant will copy all the extra folders for Adobe's apps anyway, though I could be wrong. I'd suggest just reinstalling Photoshop and Word on the new system.

You need a Firewire 800 to 400 adapter or cable or a external USB 2/3 drive (self powered) it can default to the old USB the G5 uses 1 or 2.

Hi I've got a Sony video camera that's about 7 years, it uses Mini DV. I recently filmed my sister's College graduation that I wanted to view and transfer to my computer. I just purchased a fire wire cable to hook up the camcorder to my mac Pro. The cable fit's perfectly into the Video camera but not the Mac Pro. Did I purchase the wrong cable? It's a Belkin 6-pin to 4-pin Cable. Yes - the cable you purchased is FW400, the new Mac Pro's use FW800.
It does seem like a strange omission not to have at least one FW400 port...
I have seen some adapter that hook onto the FW400 end, so that you can insert into a FW800. They do tend to be expensive in the area where I live.

don't know but Solaris 10 is not making any sense to me at all.the peoblem is i have installed Solaris 10 many times ,sometime GRUB detected Windows XP automatically and other times it could not and other times it halted during installation and said I/O error could not install all packages ,so i changed my CD-ROM anyway it did install Solaris 10 some times but GRUB could not detec Windows XP automatically and i could not configure GRUB to do so manually so i bought a new CD-ROM and mounted it on my pc.anyway when i tryed to install Solaris 10 and choosed Solaris from the booting screen it displayed the above mentioned error:
Error 28: Selected item can not fit into memory
the upper memory in the booting screen was: 752576 kb
lower memory: 639 kb
don't know but Solaris 10 is not making any sense to me since a week ,it's behavior is not understood .although i did run the install check before starting the installation and it did say Soalris 10 can be installed on you system.my hardware information is the following:
Gigabyte mother board with bult in VGA ,Sound ,Ethernet
40 GB Western Digital Hard Disk
750 MB of RAM's
Pentuiem 4 ,1 MB Cache

I was trying to fix this for more then 2 weeks , finally the solution to fix this was easy: GRUB new version 97 is crab ( sorry why i do not know but .. )
I have one disk with: windows xp and second part for fedora
I got the error after upgrading to fedora 6
I got GRUB 97 version with this fedora 6 automatically installed
and while booting on disk :
Error 28: Selected item could not fit into memory
all forums are explaining that it is not possible to boot via GRUB on a 2 nd partion to Linux ( fedora) because of 1024 constrains etc.
I can tell you that after installing GRUB version 92 in a fedora on the harddisk ( 2nd part) started via rescue cd
I installed the GRUB older version 92 forced to overwrite the GRUB version 97 on this partion of fedora
run grub via recue cd but run version 92 installed now
via command
/mnt/sysimage/sbin/grub
root ( hd0,1)
setup (hd0,1)
it installs grub on the boot record
and now I can boot without any problem on this GRUB in the boot record of the 2nd part of the disk
I use GAG on the MBR and GRUB ( version 92) on the boot record of Fedora partition and now it starts easy , no problems anymore

Getting "Table %TEMPLATE does not fit into window" error

Hello,
I am trying to print a form to an old EPSON DFX-9000 dot matrix printer and am getting the error message Table %TEMPLATE does not fit into window".
This only happens when I go to that printer. I can print fine to a laser printer.
I have tried creating a new device type and copying over the format from the laser printer, playing with the format, changing formats, ect.
I have adjusted the size of the window that my template cannot allegedly fit into but still no luck. I have checked the height and width of the template and the window many, many times and still get the same error.
Has anyone seen this before? Please help. Thanks.

You need to see the width and height of the Page Format which you have set in Form Attributes of your smartforms.
What ever you create should be within this width and height .
So accordingly adjust the width and height of your windows and components within them

Hard drive not fitting into connector.

Hello,
Just to let you know, this is the first time I've ever tried to upgrade a hard drive on a 13", 2007, white Intel MacBook. I was following the directions I had found on the internet. I've taken the old drive out, swapped the hard drive plate from the original drive to the new hard drive and tried to push it back into the same slot, but for some reason I can't get it to go all the way back into that slot the drive fits in. Strange enough, it also feels like it's pushing against something rubbery on the inside. It's less than a 1/4 inch from going all the way back in. I've made certain that all the screws are tightened all the way on the drive, but can't figure out why I'm getting resistence when I try to push it in that weeee little bit.
I am certain that I have the drive flipped the proper way too, because I took note of how the original drive was oriented and made sure I duplicated that on this new drive. Like I had said before, it feels like there is something rubbery that's in the way, I just can't get to it.
So I'm also curious if anyone knows if I were to take off the top cover on the laptop whether that would expose the hard drive so that I could see why it's not fitting into the connector properly.

As you will see there are two rubber spacers on each side of the hard drive enclosure. If one of them comes loose that could be what you're feeling.

Although the HP Scanjet shows up in the system profile for the computer it is generic and is not configured (as in screen shot). It also does not show up in the ;ist of pritnters, scanner when I open Image Capture. Window does not fit into page

Hi all,
I'm creating a smartform which prints one internal table consists of 36 fields. In table line type i have mentioned the 36 fields. First four are of 4CM and other 32 fields of 2CM width. So in total i have mentioned as 80 CM.
But its showing an error like 'Main window does not fit into Page'.
What could be the mistake?
Can anyone help me in this..

Hi,
U have to adjust the 36 fields into 21 cm by Allocating Space accordingly.
if Your Space is small then data will be displayed in the next line.
And display The data in Smallest font possible.

Datagrid Scrolling Problem.. Does not fit into Parent Container..

I have a module and module contains only one datagrid. I am adding this module to tab navigator dynamically in the next index. I am using Text as Item renderer in the datagrid and the row height will change depending upon the data diplyed on the Text. When the data populate in datagrid the datagrid going beyond the containers layout. i.e height is not fit into parent container. I am using Canvas as parent container .. Please find the below attached pictures and you will get to know what is my problem?

As you said "customize the measure() method in Text control and return the correct measuredHeight based on the explicitWidth." what is the relation between Text control height and datagrid? Datagird should take it's parent container width and heights. I am newbie to this Flex.. can you please explain it briefly. I met a very strange problem.
I am printing a process order using smartform.
for other process nrs , print perfect.
But only for a certain precess nr, I got a popup error 'Table TEMPLATE_HEADER does not fit into window.'
At beginning , I suppose my table line extend the mainwindow width. But infact , no!
I try to comment every node one by one, I found the reason: I put a table line into a loop node, if I add a text node which has something inside, it will triger this error. (only for this process order, others works fine)
so , does someone met this error before ?

Hi Kevin,
Which printer and device type do you use? For line printers and device type(driver STN2) like e.g. EPESCP9, the SAP system
must use spaces and empty lines to place the text. This is a limitation of the ESC/P printer languagesa per SAP note #19807.
For this, the Smartforms rounds all coordinates(of the table cells and the window). Only after this step it checks, whether the table fits into the window. So if the table size is quite close to the window size size, it may happen on line printers that the table doesn't fit anymore.
If this is the reason for your problem, the error message should vanish if you increase the size of the window containing table TEMPLATE_HEADER a little in your smartform.

The template is in footer window. I have only 3 lines in the template.
And the size of template is less than window size.
I do not understand why this error. This happened when there are many line items in the main window. With less no. of line items it worked well.
