Fit landscape width can't coexist with handwriting?

I guess this is more of a request than a question. I used to have a PRS-650, and when you changed Page Mode to Fit to Landscape Width - which I use a LOT because I read a bunch of full-page PDFs - you could still use the Handwriting function on the page. But for the PRS-T1 and T2 (I now have a T2, used to have a T1), when you change to Fit to Landscape Width you can't annotate with the stylus without the reader reverting to normal format. Why is this, and is it something that could be fixed/changed in a future software update PLEASE? I've been loyal to the Sony readers because they're really the only reader which has both workable PDF functionality and touch-screen manual annotation - but the fact that I can't use those two features together really bums me out.

Good day and thank you for the comment/request. We are more than happy to forward your feedback onto the proper department. We place a very high value on feedback from our customers because it allows us to continue to improve. Thanks again and have a wonderful day. Scott Fuentes

  • Can SS9 coexist with SS8 on the same box?

    Hello,
First off, congratulations on the SS9 release!
I'm about to try it out, but I can't make sense of some what's said in the release notes.
"If you have Forte Developer 6 software, Sun ONE Studio 7 software, Sun ONE Studio 8 software, or Sun Studio 8 software installed, be sure to follow the installation instructions and install the Sun Studio 9 software in a different directory."
    The next paragraph says:
"If you have Sun ONE Studio 8, Compiler Collection software or the Sun Studio 8 software installed, be sure to follow the installation instructions and install the Sun Studio 9 software on a different system."
    The install guide says:
"If you installed an Early Access version of the Studio 9 software or any other version of the Sun Studio software on your system, then install the current version of the Sun Studio 9 software in a different directory."
So can SS9 coexist with SS8 on the same box, albeit in a different directory, or not? I have an S8 box with SS8 on it.
    Regards,
    Sergey

I don't have the installation guide handy, but the Release Notes say something different. The Install Guide is wrong about the EA and CA versions. The wording about installing on a different "system" is also wrong. I'll forward this information and see what can be done about correcting it. (No matter how many times a doc is reviewed, it's still wrong ... )
The rules for Sun Studio 9 installation are actually simple, and are the same as for all previous releases:
    1. You can install any number of different releases on one system, but each must be installed in a different base directory.
    2. You can install only copy of a given release on one system.
The default base directory is /opt, and if any release is installed there, additional releases must be installed somewhere else. For example, you could install Sun Studio 9 in /SS9 or /export/SS9 or any place other than /opt.
Because of #2, you must uninstall an EA or CA version of a release before installing another version of that release. For example, if you install the first EA version, you must uninstall it before installing the second EA version, or CA version or final release version. If you installed the CA version, you must uninstall it before installing the final release version.
Patches to an existing installation don't count as a new version. A patch by definition is installed on top of the release that it patches.

  • Can CS4 coexist with older CS2?

It's a long story, but to make it very short, I wanted to install CS2 back on my computer because (right, wrong, or just misinformed) CS4 using multicam editing has issues. (I posted a thread about this a few days ago....which my last reply would indicate a 'fix' .. but it wasn't.)  Never-the-less, because I needed to get this large 2+ hour 3-camera shoot edited, I decided to load my old CS2 (I loaded Premiere Pro only) back on the machine so I could edit this one multicam project without the hassles and workarounds required by CS4.  So..........when I do that, CS4 AME stops working.
Has anyone successfully loaded a previous version of CSx AFTER loading CS4 before?
Does anyone have any insight into *why* CS4 AME would stop working after loading a previous CSx (my case CS2)?
If I choose to continue using CS2 on the same machine with CS4, will I have to uninstall CS4, install CS2, then reinstall CS4 last?
Any thoughts, insight or suggestions would be appreciated.
    TIA,
    jd

Most of the installations that had CS2 (PrPro 2.0) and CS4 were done with CS4 coming after the installation of CS2. I'd guess that with the order being reversed, the CS2 installation hooked an affinity, or a process, that had been set to CS4. A repair install of CS4 should set it all right again.
When adding PE4 to a machine with the full CS2 Production Studio, similar happened, and PrPro, Bridge and PS were "broken." Adobe never expected someone to install PE after PrPro and the others in the Productin Suite. A Repair Install of the rest of Production Studio took care of everything. Obviously, I was not the only one to do this, as there was an Adobe KB Article on what would be broken, and how to fix it.
    Good luck,
    Hunt

  • Pdf file, How do I fit by width in landscap mode on iphone?

In landscap mode, pdf file show full page and I have to zoom in everytime. I want to fit width when put in landscap. How to??

Doesn't seem to be a setting for this in iBooks 3.1 (tested on both an iPad [3rd Gen] and iPhone 4S both w/iOS 6.1.3)
However, a little experimentation reveals -- it depends on the PDF.
If the PDF is text (I used 'PowerShell in Action' - a programming book) you can use the same method as Mobile Safari - Double tap in the text and that section expands to fit the width of the screen in landscape or portrait. Centered on where you tapped in the text.
If the PDF is a single image - like a PDF comic book (I used a volume of 'Girl Genius'), it appears that the double tap to expand doesn't work. If the PDF is already full width, a double tap does appear to shrink it back to full page view.
Unfortunately, this seems to be on a per page basis. When you flip to the next/previous page it goes back to full page view.
Note: There are other PDF viewer apps/apps with PDF viewers built in that behave differently, more like you are looking for. Some are even free.
Hopefully Apple will improve this in the next version.
And, of course, the obligatory disclaimer -  YMMV with different PDFs, versions of iBooks, and iOS and this is just a random comment on the Internet. Not warrantee expressed or implied. And my employer (which is not  Apple) has no idea I just wrote this.

  • Can an iphone with a case fit in the michael kors wallet clutch?

can an iphone with a case fit in the michael kors wallet clutch? I was thinking of getting it but I do not want to take my pittsburgh penguins case off just so it can fit inside of it.

Yes I saw that article from before. The problem I am having is one that is unique to the PowerMac G5 and does not effect the Mac Pro. The problem I am having is that the PowerMac G5 uses a plastic shield that won't close when you install an Accelero. In order to get this card to work some people have even cut a hole into the shield as you can see with the first picture from this article:
    http://www.xlr8yourmac.com/Graphics/AcceleroS1R2on_ATIX800.html
Needless to say I feel very uncomfortable doing this. This is why when I came across an article that showed people bending their Acceleros it gave me hope that I could install one with out having to damage my computer and risk having air flow problems. That is why I am wanting to know if bending the Accelero would work like in this forum:

I think you have to sign into your Amazon Kindle Account, find the book in your archive and delete it there.  Otherwise you can delete it from the device and leave it in the archive, should you want to look at it again.

Yes, the softwares can co-exists with each other. However the iTunes would not work with the Zen Stone Plus.

The "Use custom settings for history" selection allows to see the current history and cookie settings, but selecting this doesn't make any changes to history and cookie settings.
Firefox shows "Use custom settings for history" as an indication that at least one of the history and cookie settings is not the default to make you aware that changes were made.
If all History settings are default then the custom settings are hidden and you see "Firefox will: (Never) Remember History".
"Never Remember History" means that Private Browsing is active and "Always use private browsing mode" gets a checkmark.
The default settings mean that cookies are enabled and thus should work.

  • Can the Charge with a case fit in the Samsung media dock? or do I have to take the case off?

can the Charge with a case fit in the Samsung media dock? or do I have to take the case off?
    thanks!

    Dear SandraW,
Of course, there are may cases out there for the Charge but I would have to say generally, no. I have the desk dock and it looks like the Charge fits very snugly into the dock, and that the seat molded into the dock for the phone is an exact match for the side profile of the Charge.
I have the shell/holster case for the Charge that is standard VZW accessory, and having the Charge in the shell portion of the case would prevent it from docking.
I do have a Skin-It skin on the back of the phone, and this does NOT prevent docking.

  • Resizing images in a div to fit browser width

i have a page with rollovers in a DIV:
    http://toddheymandirector.com/REEL/index_newlook.html
i want the the images, "nike the getaway", etc, to resize to fit the browser window width. i tried putting them in a div and adding
    row {
        max-width: 100%;
        height: auto;
        width: auto\9; /* ie8 */
    but it didnt work..
    ideas?
    thanks

You could try something like the below. Basically it will show a maximum of 4 images per row (25%) so:
if your image width is 300px, for the browser to view all 4 at 100% their window needs to be 1200px wide
if their browser window is smaller than 1200px, the images will start to move onto new rows
if the browser window is bigger than 1200px, it will scale the 4 up to fit the width.
You can change the width of the images to match your optimal browser window and/or change the percentages to see the effect it has.
Eg, if you remove the "min-width:25%;" from #gallery ul li it will not scale the images at all. If you change "min-width:25%;" to "width:25%;", it will always show 4 images in a row and scale up or down to fit the window.
Best thing to do is play around until you're happy. Good luck.

  • Fit Table width/height to Margin

It would be a great handy feature if the table width could be fitted to the margin of the page.
Moreover 'tables' need some more extra features like : distribute rows/column evenly to fit table width/height. At present this feature extends the table width/height when applied. Once I fix the width and height of the table, distribute rows/column must fit to that width/height only. The table should only extend when I add rows or column.

  • Maximize page to fit screen width

    Hi,
I would like to maximize all the pages of the application to fit the entire screen size i.e. effect similar to F11.
Please let me know how it can be done at application level.
    Thanks.

    @fac586,
Thanks for your reply. I have been asked to check the feasibility of this feature. I just gathered the complete details.
Its a Org specific Knowledge search kind of application. So the users will be employees of that org.
The employees mostly use Mozilla Firefox or Internet Explorer and versions might be latest (or) one or two versions lower. We can also display a note in the browser and suggest them to use Mozilla(if required).
The main purpose of the full screen mode is we want to utilize maximum screen space to show the pages, as there are lot many regions displayed over there.
If there is a better way to show the page in full screen or use max space, we are ready to go with it.
<li>Which browser(s) and browser version(s) is this application going to run on?Mozilla Firefox or Internet Explorer and versions might be latest (or) one or two versions lower. We can also restrict them to use Mozilla only.
<li>Which operating systems?User will be in Windows XP in most cases. I assume its OS of the user here.
<li>Is it an intranet application that will run in a controlled environment?Yes it is.
<li>An internet application that anyone can run?No.
<li>How is it deployed? As a desktop icon in a controlled environment? As a link on another site? On a standalone kiosk device?Users will be provided with URL for the application. Its deployed in apex.oraclecorp.com
<li>Do the users expect it to run in full-screen mode? Do they even know what full-screen mode is? Do they know how to get out of it and back to their desktop or other apps? Will they want to run it in full-screen mode?Since the requirement is to have all the regions displayed comfortably in the page, without scrolling the page full screen mode is used. We are planning to have a button in the page, which will exit the full screen mode and move to normal mode so that users can perform regular activities with browser.
<li>Are there any accessibility concerns to doing this? The purpose of the full screen mode is we want to utilize maximum screen space to show the pages, as there are lot many regions displayed over there.
If there is a better way to show the page to use maximum space, we are ready to go with it.
<li>How will this work across multiple devices? Screen sizes? User font settings? We have not thought about this yet. Whatever may be the screen size or display settings the user have, it should expand to fit screen width.
Please do let me know if require more information on this.
    @Joel_C,
I am a newbie in APEX and Web applications and to these forum categories too. Though the disclaimer claims, it hurts.
If I had known its a browser specific functionality earlier, why wouldnt I mention it ealier and end up in multiple iterations to get a solution to my query and waste valuable time of fac586?
No one can become 'Guru' in the way you have mentioned. Atleast I havent. Its through hardwork and continued contributions one can attain this position.
You might have also crossed this stage when you started with web applications. I am not a born genius and just a learner.

Ive make an applet that sends files to a FTP Server with a progress bar.
Its works fine on my IDE (JBuilder 9), but when I load into Internet Explorer (signed applet) it crash. The applet seems like blocked: it show the screen of java loading and dont show the progress bar, but it send the archives to the FTP server while shows the java loading screen.
I will pay with a domain or with paypal to anyone who can help me with this problematic applet. I will give my code and the goal is only repair the applet. Only that.

    adios!

    thaks for yours anwswers..
harmmeijer: the applet is signed ok, I dont think that is the problem...

This is the code, I explain a little:
The start() method calls iniciar() method where its is defined the array of files to upload, and connect to ftp server. The for loop on every element of array and uploads a file on subirFichero() method.
    Basicaly its this.
