"Fit on Screen" doesn't

After upgrading to Photoshop CS5, I find that the "Fit on Screen" command doesn't fit on the visible screen any more in Full Screen Mode with Menu Bar. Instead, the image is centered on the screen, leaving a large open space on the left side and putting the right side of the image well behind palettes docked to the right side of the screen.
I tried changing the Zoom Resizes Window setting, but it has no effect on this misbehavior.
The previous version I had of Photoshop did this correctly, fitting the image so that it would be entirely visible.
What is the fix?

Here's an example of the problem. Depending on exactly where I place the palettes on the right and whether I dock them or not, Fit on Screen will make the image larger or smaller, but it will always hide the right part of the image behind the palettes.

  • Workspace doesn't fit the screen anymore...

    Hello.
Since today (and Mac OS X's update I installed this morning, I guess), my Photoshop CS6 workspace doesn't fit the screen of my 12 inch Cintiq (connected to a 2014 Macbook Air).  No matter what I do, it keeps it wrong.
Trying to set the photoshop window to the whole Cintiq screen with the "green" Mac OS corner button, this is what I get:
Hitting F won't do the trick, this is what it gets me:
I tried to clear the Photoshop prefs, without success.  I checked for updates and found there was a Photoshop update I had not yet installed, and I did install it, to no success.  Needless to say, this makes my copy of Photoshop most unusable, which is a really big problem for an illustrator like me.  I really wish I can solve this as soon as possible.
    Thanks.

Yeah, no results. Still the same.
If I take my main window and move it up by myself, it's just gonna stay there until the next click somewhere, then it gets back to this wrong placement,.

  • Firefox 7, mozilla doesn't open in the proper size where it fits the screen.

Where before it opens to fit the screen (not fullscreen) so now I always have to click the maximize button. Didn't happen before the update, how do I fix this?

Try ensuring when it closes it is already in the maximum view. When you close it
    * use '''Firefox Button -> [x]Exit'''
I do not think there were any recent changes that should affect how Firefox opens and closes when upgraded from Firefox 6 to 7 or 7.0.1

  • My new version of Firefox (downloaded automatically) on my Mac displays long paragraphs in emails as a single line, so the end of the paragraph is off the screen. How can I make it automatically wrap to fit the screen?

Long paragraphs in incoming emails display as a single line, with the end of the paragraph running off the screen. I want to make it wrap automatically to fit the screen.

For the browser window, just drag it to the top left of the screen (click and hold on the top bar with the traffic lights to drag), then in the bottom right of the window you'll see a rectangle with diagonal hatching. Click and hold on that and drag the window to the size you want.
Clicking on the green dot at top left will expand the window to fit the screen, clicking it again will shrink it back to where it was (this doesn't work in Finder windows quite the same).
The menu bar size is set in the bowels of the OS, though there may be third-party applications which can alter it.
As it's size is relative to the screen resolution, you could try reducing the resolution in System Preferences > Displays to see if that would suit you better.

  • How to adjust the AICC compliant CBT's to fit all screen sizes across browsers in Captivate 4

    Hi,
I have made changed my Adobe Captivate 4 files to be AICC compliant by changing the Settings in Preferences.
When I publish the files, the standard.js file no longer adjusts the CBT's to fit all screen sizes across browsers, as it was doing before by adding the below code -
    <style type="text/css"> html, body, #CaptivateContent { height:100%; }
    body { text-align:center; margin:0; padding:0; overflow:hidden; }
    </style>
Is there a way to scale Adobe Captivate AICC compliant files across different browsers?
    Thanks!

That code doesn't go in the standard.js file but goes in the head of the HTM template used for AICC output.
Look in your Captivate install directory for the Templates > Publish > AICC > Default.HTM file and add the code there.
If you want 300 more troubleshooting tips for Cp, you'll need to read the book:

  • Widescreen or fit to screen choice...

    HI!
I saw this option in different movie dvd menu and I want to know how to do this...
I want to know how we can put a choice to the viewer to choose between: play it widescreen or fit to screen 4:3... is it a script who tell how play the track..? it probably doesn't have the same track duplicate on the disk with each a display setting different?....
Because I know how to set my track and menu for the appropriate display on TV's like I want...but if we give viewer choice....now i'm lost!!! Because I doesn't see nothing in DVDSP that I can link my 2 buttons (play wide or play 4:3 in this case) to the same track with different display setting.
Hope you understand & can help me on this!
    thx!

The thing everyone is...that I perfectly understand all about the 16/9 : 4:3 Letterbox : 4:3 pan scan setting TO DO during my programation of the DVD in DVDSP for the result I want to be displayed on my TV....
My question was more that I saw in a ''hollywood'' dvd : Run from Dick & Jane (Jim Carrey & Thea Léoni) that the user can choose between LETTERBOXED or FULL SCREEN display before start the movie....
So...is a way to create this option in DVDSP, without created 2 different track (one 4:3 letterbox check and the other pan scan) with the same movie in it...
Because that way double the space use on the disc....exept if there's a way to script it or edit it in DVDSP....
Sorry for my french/english taping spelling!!!!

  • How to make web pages fit the screen width?

Some web pages don't fit the screen width and Firefox user (me) has to scroll horizontally, which is very annoying:
    https://www.dropbox.com/s/kjyubp6f3z104ku/ScreenShot021.jpg
Opera user, on the other hand, just clicks on the "Fit to width" button and everything looks great again:
    https://www.dropbox.com/s/hfsgl45f4d7uzgw/ScreenShot023.jpg
Is there a way to force web page text to wrap?

I get EXACTALY what "SantosHaHa" posted above. (Ffox 20 Win 7 64).
Zoom doesn't help. Make things bigger or smaller, BUT THE PAGE WIDTH IS STILL CROPED!
Have had this problem for 2 years and several versions.
    NOTHING seems to work.
I wander why Ffox keeps changing versions so often, with so many new problems apearing, if Netscape worked fine 15 years ago!!!!

  • Fit on screen all dashboard page reports

    Hi all!
I'm starting in OBIEE 11g, so I need your help!
Our issue is that we need "resize" all reports that are in Dashboard's pages as "fit on screen" mode. Now, for example, we have 4 analysis in a Dashboard's page but it page has scrolls. So we need to scroll down and right to see all analysis in that page.
There is any way to "resize" all reports and "fit on screen" that Dashboard page? I try to modify Height and Width on Column, Section, and analysis but it doesn't work.
    Any idea?
    Thanks for your unvaluable time.
    Regards,
    Ariel

    Ok guys, it was solved.
The problem was the Canvas Height and Width in Graph properties. It is set to a default value. It isn't relative, so all other objects get its size. So, I reduce that Height and Width, so all objects get the new size.
    Thanks for your time!
    Best regards,
    Ariel

  • Websites i search are weirdly shaped and are not fitting the screen well.

Whenever i open something, It doesn't fit the screen well and i constantly have to scroll right and left when i am doing work. Also on top, the tabs are much larger than they were before and zooming in or out does not affect the tab size.

Set the layout.css.devPixelsPerPx pref on the <b>about:config</b> page to 1.0 and if necessary, adjust layout.css.devPixelsPerPx starting with 1.0 in 0.1 or 0.05 steps (1.0 or 0.9) to make icons show correctly.

  • HT4623 Is anyone else having issues with scaling down photos to fit the screen for home and lock screens with ios7??

Is anyone else having issues with scaling down photos to fit the screen for home and lock screens with ios7??  Installed ios7 this morning. Tried to use one of my photos from camera roll as background for lock screen and I can't scale the photo to fit the screen.  Never had a problem before and now when I pinch the photo to get it to the right size of the screen, it won't stay that way. The photo is enlarged way beyond the screen size so it doesn't look right. Does anyone know how to fix this?

    Hello, cliffiapp4.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
Here are the steps that I would recommend going through when experiencing this issue.
    Resolution
If a single application is not responding or stops responding when it opens, you can force it to close.
If the device is unresponsive or if certain controls aren't working as expected, restart your device.
If the device remains unresponsive or does not turn on (or power on), reset your device.
If the above steps do not resolve the issue, contact Apple.

  • My palm m105's touch screen doesn't work properly after a sync.

I dug out my old m105, put new batteries in and start it. On first launch it auto runs the alignment tool, and after touching all the points it goes to the main screen and works fine. No problem till here.
Now, I plug it into my old computer which still has the palm software with my apps, and I run the sync operation (from the palm device sync manager, cause I lost my cradle and I'm connected via the serial cable), and it syncs fine BUT, here comes the problem, when it finishes the sync (successfully) the touch screen is all misaligned. I can't go back to the home screen or do anything useful.

  • The bottom of my screen doesn't work how do I fix it?

My screen has been cracked for a while now missing a piece of screen in the top and bottom corners of the device. It has been working fine no problems until last night. I think i layed on top of my ipod touch 4g and now the screen doesn't work right and I can't unlock it. I've tried reseting the device and restoring it and that does not help. Is there a mechanical fix I can do I have a screwdriver for ipod screws I just don't know how to fix it. So basically is there a way for me to fix the screen on my device myself if not where can I send it to, to get it fixed and how much and how long will it take. Thanks for any help!

No way to fix it. Seems like a bad digitizer.
Apple will exchange your iPod for a refurbished one for $199 for 64 GB 4G and $99 for the other 4Gs. They do not fix yours.

  • How do I make PDFs OPEN and fit my screen?

Every time I open a PDF, the document opens larger than my screen. How do I make the document fit the screen I have?
This is absolutely NOT a zoom problem.
I have a 15 inch laptop. It has a screen that is about 12 inches wide x 7.5 inches high.
I open a PDF, and the document opens on my screen so that the entire document is more like 13 inches wide, and 10 inches high. The top menu bar, where I would grab to move, change zoom, enlarge, or, for that matter, CLOSE the document is like 2-2.5 inches OFF the TOP of my screen.
I can change zoom - it only changes the size of the contents in the window, never the actual window size, and the problem is the window size.
So the question is, why does PDF even open a window larger than my screen supports, and how do I stop it.
This is not new - this should by now be a known serious flaw with Adobe Reader and Acrobat and regularly happens with PDFs, and has for years. If I have a second monitor, I can drag the side of the window over onto my second monitor, and then shrink it. But, if I  am traveling, so without my second monitor, it effectively means the only thing I can do with any PDF is right click on the bottom menu bar and "Close all windows"
Windows XP, Windows 7, Windows 8.

Try clicking the arrows top right  corner of your Safari window or Control + Command + F on your keyboard.

  • Any way to force a PDF file to be opened in "fit to screen" mode?

Is it possible to force a PDF to open "fit to screen" -- overriding whatever the end user has set as his default viewing preference -- while still allowing said user to zoom in and otherwise modify their viewing mode, AFTER the document has been opened?
In other words, I'd just like to force the initial state on the reader... not limit them to it after the document has been opened.
The reason being that most screens today are widescreen, so when you open a LETTER-format PDF file, most of the time you only see the top half. I'd like to force a document to be seen "fit to screen" so as to see ALL of it when opened... then, the user can do what he/she wants with it (and subsequent pages).
    Thanks.

Hope the information did the job. However, be aware that you might also tick off some users that do not like default settings others like. I would suggest you consider your reason to override the user setting is good before you do it. If you really want a full screen view, maybe a landscape mode might be preferred. In that case, I suspect users would not mind the forcing of a full page.
You can also force full screen viewing, but such is confusing to some folks that don't think of hitting the ESC key to get out.
