Fit or Fill Images in Slideshow

I've actually tried both and the problem still exists.  I have a basic slideshow created with just an image and fade - no navigation, caption or anything else. I had it working just fine, but made a few adjustments and now the images don't all 'fit' properly.  If you look closely at this image, there is a dark gray border around the image area.  The one image (two people in winter) has an even border all around, but the other image is stretched, or fills the 'frame' from side to side with a small border above and below.  How do I get them to fill the same area - preferably the one with the even border all around?

I ended up deleting the slideshow and created a new one and reworked it. I had the 'hero image' (I'm still not sure what that means) a little smaller within the slideshow frame so there was a border around the image and a stroke on the outside frame to set it apart from the rest of the page.  Now I just filled the frame with image with a stroke around the image and no border.  It'll work - not what I originally intended but it will work.  And now that it is working properly I'm not going to change it!
But I do have more slideshows to add so if it happens again I'll send it in.  I don't know that it'll do any good at this point if the problem is persisting.
In fact... I have a feeling it's just me not quite understanding the Hero image and it's relation to the slideshow itself.  Is there any tutorials that get into more detail about slideshows?

  • Fit to Fill Help

Every time I edit a .tiff image file into my timeline(set in and out points in my timeline, and a in point on my tiff and overwrite edit it to the timeline) , I get the following warning "Fit Clip: the source is shorter than the destination, Change Clip Speed (fit to Fill) Ignore in point, ignore out point)  I have to click change clip speed and then click OK every time I do this, and I do it alot.  Is there a way to set fit to fill as a default so I don't have this warning pop up every single time I do this?

No, but you can simply drag the TIFF where you want it, then extend it to the desired length.  No need for Ins and Out on this one.

  • Why is elements better at photomerge than CC- CC does not appear to automatically fill image based on content but elements does when merging a panorama. Also the stitching is visable in CC but almost perfect in elements- why?

I took 6 panorama shots of a scene and used CC to Photomerge them as one. Couldn't see where to automatic blend the edges and there was 'stitch' lines when the images were merged. So i did the same in Elements 11 and it was perfect. Am i doing something wrong in CC or perhaps not doing something at all?
    Any help, please?

Hi - Thanks for taking the time to reply and i appreciate the remarks- if a little harsh- we all have to start somewhere and i am fully aware of the limitations of Elements which is why i decided to add CC to my software. I can only say that if an inferior quality software from Adobe does the job well then CC must also be suited to doing the same which is why i can only think, from your comments, that i have not done something simple- however- following tutorials to get to the end result should have sufficed- it didn't so perhaps i will consider posting the difference between the two applications- and, perhaps suffer a few more 'harsh' comments. The learning curve is quite steep and i am a visual learner, but i'm also not totally incompetent:)
    Kind Regards

First a clarification: you are not addressing Adobe here in these user forums.  You are requesting help from volunteers users just like you who give their time free of charge. No one has any obligation to answer your questions.
I'll give it my best shot anyway.
Few folks in this forum are really familiar with Elements, for which there's a dedicated, totally separate forum.
    Different engineering teams, also.
From this perspective, it will be difficult to give you a direct answer to your "why?" question.
Personally, I blend very large panorama shots in Photoshop proper since I can't even remember when without any issues whatsoever, up to and including in Photoshop CS6 13.0.6.
Without being at your computer and without looking at your images, I couldn't even begin to speculate what you are doing wrong in Photoshop, which I suspect you are.  The least you could show is post examples from your panoramas that have gone wrong.
I can tell you that panorama stitching requires significant overlap between the individual shots, besides common-sdense techniques like a very solid tripod and precision heads.
The only version of Elements I have ever used for any significant time was Elements 6 for Windows, which I bought in 2008 to use on a PC (I've been an avid Mac user for 30 years).  I found Elements so limited and so bad that I successfully demanded a refund from Adobe.  IU mention this only to emphasize that I can truly only address your question from a Photoshop (proper) and Mac user point of view.  I couldn't care less about Elements, but if you have comparison examples of panoramas processed in both applications, by all means post those two.
Generally speaking Photoshop is a professional level application that makes no apologies for its very long and steep learning curve, while Photoshop has many hand-holding features for amateurs and beginners.
Perhaps the bottom line is that you should stick with Elements if you personally manage to get better results there.

  • Change position images in slideshow

    Hello,
I am trying to change the position of the images in my slideshow, but I don't know how I can do this.
    Does anyone have an idea?
    Thanks in advance!

You can resize and reposition both the Hero Image container and the Image inside that (by double-clicking the Hero Image).
Although your Hero Image size/position is fixed for all the images in slideshow, you can definitely move/resize the actual images inside individually. See if that helps you get it to work for you in the Slideshow itself.
Else you can always for go the Composition Widget which allows you to place individual target slides in different positions and have different sizes.
    Cheers,
    Vikas

  • Fit to fill edits not working correctly

When I do a fit to fill edit about 2/3 of the clip is slowed or speeded as required then it stops with the last 1/3 taken up by a freeze frame based on the frame where the clip has stopped. Any ideas?
    Thanks Henry

    Tom
Thanks for writing back. I think I am begining to get it! It is about using files that have a coherrent set of characteristics for the editor to work with. I have now actually managed to make some pal files function on fit to fill properly. The clips that I am working with were originaly recorded with these characteristics:
File type: AVI. Recorded with NSTC setting on camera. 30fps. 1.3mb/s pixel aspect square. Field dominance none. Alpha None / ignore.Composite normal. Audio 1 mono. Audio rate 8.0 Khz.Audio format 32 bit floating point. (I do not want to use the audio.)
Can you please tell me what is the best FCE setup for this type of file and or what does the file need to become to work well in the FCE envronment.
Whilst the FCE handbook is very good about how to do things in the program it is vague about what filetypes function well. I feel like I have been blundering around in the dark.
    Best Henry

Our new Tablet version of Adobe Reader does not yet support form filling, but we are working on adding that. If you have an intel-based Windows 8 computer, you can use the full Desktop verison of Adobe Reader to fill forms.

  • How do I import images in slideshow with the caption?

I imported images in slideshow. but I have to write down in each field the caption of the image. is it possible to import the caption as well?
    thanks for response

    Hi
I am afraid, its not possible to import "Captions" within Adobe Muse. You need to manually type in caption for each individual image.

  • How to replace images in slideshow?

I would like to replace images in slideshow, but I can see only ADD option.

    Thanks Parikshit.
Looks the trick would be to turn on Thumbnails, delete the image and turn it off.

  • Soft images in Slideshow

When I go to view my images in View>Slideshow they are very soft almost blurred. The thumbnails are fine as are the preview images in Bridge.
If I left click on the image in slideshow and zoom on the image it becomes sharp, when I right click to zoom back to full image it becomes blurred again.
This is very annoying as I have used the manual slideshow in CS3 to quickly assess and rate my images with no problems.
What am I doing wrong?  Please help

Most of the problems in slide show are realated to the video card or driver.  Make sure you have the latest driver installed.
If this does not work in advanced preferences click "use software rendering" and see it that solves problem.

  • Blank images in slideshow

I have just downloaded iphoto 11. I am able to see thumbnail pictures, but am unable to see images in slideshow. I only see blanks. Anyway round the problem?
    Imatong

Are you able to see the full sized images of those photos in the Event or Photos mode? If not what do you see?
If you see just a blank window or this image in the window:
    Then try the following:
If you have the space available on your hard drive and don't aready have a backup copy of the library make a temporary, backup copy (select the library and type Command+D) and apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
    Fix #1
Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
Select the options identified in the screenshot.
    Fix #2
Using iPhoto Library Manager  to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
Download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
Click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu option
In the next  window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
    Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments but not books, calendars or slideshows. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

  • Poor quality images on Slideshow

    Hello all,
I recently downloaded Aperture from the Mac App store - seemed to good a bargain not to and I was already considering upgrading from iPhoto 08.
I imported all my pictures (along with the captions) into Aperture and created a slideshow from an album. I was quite disappointed to see that the image quality was really poor and very grainy. The photos themselves were fine in the album - but not so in the slideshow.
I thought this may have been down to importing from iPhoto, so I experimented by adding other images directly into Aperture. The same slideshow quality issue arose. I also possess a MacBook Pro and decided to re-perform the steps described above. The images and slideshow are absolutely fine on my MacBook pro.
I wish to maintain my photo library on my main iMac and will be very downhearted if Aperture cannot give me the same picture quality on slideshows that I achieved in iPhoto. Can anyone help me figure out why I'm suffering from poor quality images in slideshows on my iMac?
    Thanks in advance,
    Simon.

    Hi Simon,
Aperture uses the image Preview in Slideshows:
_About Displaying Sharp Images in Slideshows_
To display slideshows at the best quality, you should set Aperture to create high-resolution previews. In addition to setting previews to their highest resolution, you should also use full-size previews to prevent upscaling with large displays. If previews are not available, images in the slideshow may not be as sharp as they would be otherwise. For more information about creating high-resolution previews, see Working with Preview Images.

  • Fill Image not visible with iOS (ipad/iphone)

    Hi
I created a website with Adobe Muse and I have an issue when surfing with ipad or iphone.
When you have a coloured rectangle and add a fill image to it, it's perfectly visible with any type of browser on a desktop pc.
Yet, when using iOS7 the image is not shown, I only see the coloured rectangle.
This issue only concurs when I use parallax layers. The moment I add a movement to the image, it's not visible on ipad.
    What I exactly do:
image fill: adapt to fill (in dutch: aanpassen aan vulling) and centered
movement: start movement up and right both on 0. after movement: up and right both on 0. This way I can create a parallax effect.
You can look at the example: http://balratmort.businesscatalyst.com
There are 4 image's not shown.
Strange thing: the first image with the brazilian flag has the same settings as the others, and the image is visible!
Could someone please help me in this?

    I found the solution/error!
my main position in the movement tab was set to 0px.
So the movement starts when i'm at the top of the page.
when i reach the image it's already scrolled out of focus.
I need to set this to the pixel where my rectangle starts, not 0px.
and that's why the first image with the brazil flag, worked correctly!
I hope it's clear, since my muse is dutch, not english.

  • Image gallery/slideshow

    Hi,
i want an slideshow/gallery for my site,
the perfect one is at http://uk.msn.com/
it's the first thing you see when you get there.
I've looked around and can't find a tutorial for it anywhere,
Does anyone know how this is made
or can give me a link to a tutorial?
    Thanx

MSN is probably using something proprietary.  Below you'll find some free slideshow and image gallery solutions that might work for you.

  • Fit to fill with 1 frame length subclips

I have 93 single frame subclips that i need to fill 3 second length slugs with.
when i use fit to fill it only fills the first frame of each slug but not the entire slug.
Or how do I make the single frame subclips stretch to 3 second length clips

Ok I time remapped all 93 clips to 3 seconds and then fit to fill worked like a charm... anyway to time remap multiple clips at the same time?

  • Fit to fill in CC

I notice that in PrPro 7.2.2. or at least my current project, the dialogue that used to come up when doing a four point edit, does not anymore.  I can't do a fit to fill.
    Dennis

The prefs file for CC (7.x) is saved in Documents/Adobe/Premiere Pro/7.0/Profile-<username>.
You can clear the prefs by holding down the following keys while launching Premiere Pro:
    Mac: press Shift+Option
    PC: press Shift+Alt
Edited to add: But you don't need to trash the prefs to get the dialog back. Instead, on the General tab of the Preferences dialog, make sure the "Fit Clip dialog opens for edit range mismatches" is checked. Screenshot courtesy of Jeff Bellune here: Re: Ignore Source Out Point
