Five free hosted sites question

Hi,
I just used one of my five free sites to host a web site I made with Adobe Muse. I assume the free hosting lasts as long as my Creative Cloud membership subscription is kept up to date. Is this right?
I ask because when I go into my partner account on Adobe business Catalyst, the billing method for the site is listed as "Adobe Direct Subscription," but the expiry date is listed as October 1, 2013. Why is there an expiry date? Thanks.

Never mind, I just answered my own question. October 1st is when my next Creative Cloud subscription is due. :-)

LIMITATIONS on free-hosting sites

first of all - great job! Congratulations ..
Some limitations occured - small cheap websites use free
hosting a lot. Tested the first InContext site on free hosting with
ad banner at the top - all InContext editing buttons are 98% hidden
behind this ad. By guessing and using Alt image description for
buttons I succeeded in editing and publishing the site. BUT - once
updated page is published, ad banner dissappeared (being wiped out
by IC?? - just guessing). This breaks "free-hosting" agreement ..

Hi dc[CZ],
When this page executes, the hosting server modifies the DOM
of the page and inserts an absolutely positioned div at the top of
the page with z-index higher than the InContext Editing toolbar.
This is why the ad-banner obscures the InContext Editing buttons.
We have tested InContext Editing on free hosting providers,
but none of them tempered with the DOM of the original page in this
manner. Unfortunately, we don’t have a solution or workaround
for this situation, as there are a number of ways those banners can
be inserted in the page. (of course, other than changing your
hosting to a paid account to remove the banner.)
However, I have passed this information on to our engineering
team to consider for future versions.

How long does business catalyst give you 5 free hosting sites for?

BC advertises that you can host with them for free on 5 sites. How long can you host for free?

The free sites that you host with BC will be sync. with your subscription.
So basically it is connected with your subscription account , site expiration depends upon the subscription expiration.

I have had CC for 9 mo now and never recieved my 5 free sites from BC I have worked with suport with no success at all all they keep doing is sending me emails they are working on it I have gave them my info twice now but still working on it this has been going on for awhile now so im out of options at this point. Everytime I hit Launch Site its wants me to sign up for CC and I have logged in with my Adobe ID and everything any HELP would be great thanks DISCOURAGED

It might be that your Adobe ID may not be fully sync.
Please reach BC accounts so they can confirm your account + the Adobe ID you are attempting to use.

Made site in Dreamweaver, doesn't display correctly using free hosts

Hello everyone
I'm just a beginner using DW and have a slightly older
version - DW MX2004. I have built my site in DW, and wanted to try
a free web hosting service until I see if I like having a website
and will actually be good at keeping it updated before I find a
paid service.
The problem is that whenever I upload my files into the free
webhosting service (I've tried several - Bravenet, Freehostia,
110mb) the pages don't display any of the formatting shown in DW. I
used a page design CSS sample to create the pages in DW, would that
make a difference?
Is it just that the free hosting services don't support DW?
Am I missing a step in my design before I try and upload them?
Any help gratefully received.

Are you using an external css file? If you are make sure to
point it to the root directory by placing a "/" slash (minus the
quotes. So for example if your path is
href="css/style.css"
change it to
href="/css/style.css"
I don't actually use any of dreamweaver templates or wizards,
so I'm not sure how it creates the paths. Hope this helps.
Note: As far as I know dreamweaver is just an editor
(glorified notepad) and doesn't have any effect on your files and
doesn't need any support on hosts. There may be some advanced
features that require support but none that I am aware of.

APEX_MAIL support on Oracle's free APEX hosting site

Did anybody know the status of APEX_MAIL support on Oracle's free APEX hosting site (http://apex.oracle.com/pls/otn/f?p=....)?
I tested the following 'after submit' process in a testing APEX page without any error message.

But I did not receive the email.

I tried different hotmail and yahoo mail addresses.
If p_to and p_from were the same hotmail email addresses, the emails would be lost.
if p_to and p_from were the same yahoo email addresses, the emails would be received.
This is something caused by hotmail.
The test can be done in SQL commands screen.
APEX_MAIL.PUSH_QUEUE ('localhost',25) did work beautifully.
You could see the message as follows in the SQL commands screen.

Are there any free WAP hosting sites?

I am lookign for a free WAP hosting site that will allow hosting of midlets. TAGTAG.com only allow images and ringtones and MOBILEBASIC.com will only leave it out there temporarily. Internet search turns up nothing that works.

What's the best free website hosting service I should use to publish my iweb folder to through FTP???
I dont get how to use FTP to publish my iWeb site folder to a website server also?? I have Cyberduck.

You publish to a folder and then use an FTP client like the free CyberDuck to upload to your selected host server. You'll need to search for free hosting servers and select the one that will work best for you. You will get ads embedded in your web site when you use a free hosting service.

Sldieshow pforlem on Verizon hosted sites.

Revisiting a problem not reviewed since 2006 I wondered if anyone has found a workaround for the slideshow problem on verizon hosted websites.
With earlier versions of iWeb it was found that the slide show did not work because the iWeb software had a variable in the call for URL name for the slideshow.html. The variable was in the form of a question mark (to call certain options like size, shadow, etc.) Deleting the "?" in the java script call for the URL, you lost the options (got the default configuration) but the slideshow did work just fine.
In version iWeb '09 we get the same symptoms, eg when you click on slideshow on the album page, it responds with the 404 error "slideshow.html file not found". Examining the web site the Slideshow.html is there, and so are all the media files as they should be and just as they are in the desktop folder on my computer. Safari opens the website on my computer and all works fine. But when uploaded in precisely the same structure to Verizon, slideshow wont work neither will the option button to download a photo, both respond with the "file not found" error. The photo page displays all the photos so iWeb knows the media files are there, but when you ask to download a file it says file not found.
The photo files and the slideshow html are clearly there! Unfortunately, Verizon offers customers free host service but absolutely no support help where you can ask this question. Implementation of the slideshow as well as downloading photos from the iWeb'09 created photo album both offer options, like file size in downloading photos, and configurations options for the slideshow. Calls without options like the album photo page, works fine. So the root problem is probably still the same, just finding it to edit out the options (I can live with the default setup) is the problem.

you can no longer do what you did in iweb1 in iweb3, because iweb3 photos page is loaded with javascript widgets; well, you can always change javascript.

What is included in the free hosting from CC subscription?

Hi,
I've got a CC subscription so I'm aware that I get free hosting for up to 5 sites however I saw today that it only includes WebBasic sites however I can not find the information to what that includes. I have searched on the forums and I have found likes but all seem to be outdated and have changed.
I'm using Muse to produce the site in order to promote my work as a student graphic designer for jobs and interns so I will have picture galleries (Muse widget), a contact form and wish it to be phone and tablet compatible.

Creative Cloud Membership has reached its limit for hosted sites

I have had a paid Adobe Muse Creative Cloud membership for about 2 years now, and only used one website. I understand I can host up to 5. But for some reason when I try to launch a new site, I am told my membership has reached its limit for hosted sites. Can someone please tell me if I have some test pages I'm hosting (or something) and how I can erase them so I can make room for my new site. These are only personal sites so I do not need a business catalyst url for testing. I have the two domains active now and just need to be able to have both go live.

The web page I'm trying to launch is www.ninetiesband.com. The only site that should be active right now is www.wearenightsbridge.com.

I checked your subscription details, and it looks like you're subscribed to Adobe Muse single app subscription, and not Creative Cloud subscription. When you sign up for Muse single app subscription (yearly), you get one free site to host with Business Catalyst. You only get 5 sites when you have a full Creative cloud subscription.

Why am I getting a "Adobe Creative Cloud Membership has reached its limit for hosted sites" message?

I just tried to push my FIRST "free" Creative Cloud site live and got the message "Your Adobe Creative Cloud Membership has reached its limit for hosted sites. To push this site live you will need to purchase an additional hosting plan." I thought CC membership was supposed to give you 5 free hosted web basics sites?
I am a premium BC partner and so far have my partner site and a paid Webcommerce site . In addition to the site I'm trying to put live I have 2 other trial sites (think they are designated as WebMarketing sites) of which one is expired. So where does the limit come in as this is so far my only WebBasics site?
Please help as I need this live urgently (without additional expense).

UPDATE: it is possible to remove an iCloud affiliation from a device when the maximum number of free accounts has been used. I used the "reset and erase" option from Settings | General | Reset | Erase All Content and Settings. When this was finished, the iPod was like new - not just "restored" as we can do within iTunes and I had done with this device - it was legitimately restored. I signed in with my son's newly created Apple ID and it was accepted and now the device works like a charm. It also still uses my Apple ID and password for the iTunes and App stores, however I have restrictions in place to prohibit him from downloading or buying any content. I hope this helps anyone else that has reported this question.
