Fix for iTunes 10.4 install unexpected error with Lion

Not sure if anthing has been posted on this fix. I downloaded the update then copied it to a USB flash drive and installed from there.
No issues at all.

Fix for Dreamweaver CC 2014.1 JavaScript Error With All ASPX Files

Entire morning wasted.
Adobe's upgrade to Dreamweaver 2014 to 2014.1 on Windows 7 Professional has broken the product across the board and it no longer opens any .aspx pages correctly. A large number of people use .NET and now we can no longer access/use these files/pages without multiple JavaScript errors. Particularly those that have edited the MMDocumentTypes file to make the product work in the first place since they stopped supporting the users that develop in ASP.NET.
Every time a .aspx file is now opened, the following JavaScript error is received: "While executing translateCustomControl in ExternalRenderers.html, a JavaScript error occurred. Click 'close' and it appears again...over and over. Our sites are all unable to open in DW because of this. It worked fine in earlier versions of DW, including 2014. It's only 2014.1 that broke everything.
The fix for this:
1. Follow instructions on this out-of-date help file: Change, add recognized file extensions | Dreamweaver
2. (and the part that's new): The MMDocumentTypes file is located in C:\Users\*your username*\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Dreamweaver CC\Configuration\DocumentTypes directory. Open that file and add aspx back to the <documenttype id="HTML"> declaration at the top.
I am posting this issue here in hopes that some of the users won't waste most of the day trying to figure this out.

I'm having that exact same problem now...in addition to that JavaScript error message coming back. I submitted a bug report last week about this and received the following reply:

TS1718 Fix for iTunes 10.6 music video stutter with PC running Windows 7-64bit ?

I have tried updating all drivers and still all my music videos stutter at various times during playback. I've reinstalled iTunes umteen times to no avail at fixing this problem. Does ANYONE have a fix for this problem? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!!!

Repair your QuickTime.
Control Panel > Programs n Features > highlight QuickTime, click CHANGE then REPAIR.

***Fix for iTunes 10.5 Install on Win7 64bit***

1. Uninstalled itunes. (dont worry this does not delete your music or media)
2. Restart
3. If install doesnt work, go to control panel > Uninstall program > left click on Apple Update Software so that it's highlighted > Click on Repair at the top.
4. Wait until the process is complete and then try reinstalling. Worked for me after that.

I am gonna say this error baffled me for months, I was using my old WinXP desktop pc just to use itunes. Here is the simplest and easy way I got it fixed.
I opened regedit with administrator permissions (start menu>type regedit>right click>admin)
and I decided to try changing the ownership of all the affected subkeys to the Administrators group to see if it would fix the key in question. All of the wonky keys appear to be in
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Installer\UserData\S-1-5-18\Components.
I right-clicked on key 7ABFE44842C12B390AF18C3B9B1A1EE8, selected permissions, advanced, owner tab, and then checked the box to “Replace owner on subcontainers and objects.” Click OK. Regedit complained, “Registry Editor could not set owner on the key currently selected, or some of its subkeys.”
I ignored it and discovered I could now select subkey 83AC89C9A1C48CA45BC56149798C28B6 MIGHT BE ANOTHER KEY!!!!*************************************************MINE was the 000021599B00901001000...
without tripping the permissions error.
A right-click on this subkey showed that there were no permissions set. I added the account SYSTEM and gave it full control. <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< this was the fix!

I cannot install the latest update for itunes. After installing an ssd with a dual drive kit, and freshly installing osx lion.

After downloading the update and restarting to complete the installation, as the restart process begins it is interrupted by this message: Could not install some of the updates. Then it restarts, and i am stuck with itunes 10.6.3. What could the issue be? Mac Mini mid 2011, 500gb HDD, 128gb Samsung 850 pro SSD, 8gb ram. Running OS on SSD.

First open Disk Utility and try repairing the HD
Next, I would try installing the 10.7.5 combo update

Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
iTunes
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
Bonjour
Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.

Entry point errors can usually be fixed by deleting the offending dll, then repairing the component it is part of from the programs and features control panel. Unfortunately you neglected to include the detail of which dll is mentioned.
For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
The further information area has direct links to the current and recent builds in case you have problems downloading, need to revert to an older version or want to try the iTunes for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) release as a workaround for installation or performance issues, or compatibility with QuickTime or third party software.

Itunes won't install. Error message: Apple Application Support not found. What is the fix for this?

It is always these four updates that fail. I've tried downloading and installing them seperately from apple downloads. I've tried various recommended fixes, and nothing I can figure out works. Before these problems, itunes worked on the computer for a year.

I had a Trojan and used Malwarebytes to get rid of it and now everything is fine but for some reason everytime I try to open Itunes I get the message ITunes was not installed correctly Error 7 (Windows error 998)
I have done various searches on this issue and have so far done the following :-
Complete uninstall of Itunes, Quick Time and all associated programs and then a fresh install. I have also updated Microsoft.net framework. I have run a microsoft IE8 repair tool and have also made another windows user account to see if it was just my own user account.
None of this has helped and I am still getting the error. Do I really have to do a complete format on my PC or is there anyone out there that can help?

I've found something that may or may not be relevant.
Whenever I run CCleaner after installing iTunes I get the following registry errors:
Missing TypeLib Reference IUserHelper - {19D52A9A-379C-4720-BA00-3D396ECD24D7} HKCR\Interface\{915DA835-02FE-4953-92FA-624BDF5D85AB}
Missing TypeLib Reference IiPodManagerUI - {19D52A9A-379C-4720-BA00-3D396ECD24D7} HKCR\Interface\{D775A119-EAC2-4F28-B06E-8AC16F2695DA}
These always come back when I try and 'Repair' iTunes from the control panel.
Ideas anyone?

TS3074 iTunes not not installed correctly, Error 7, 998 - but only sometimes

I am using Windows 7. Sometimes iTunes will not launch. I get a message that says iTune was not installed properly - Error 7, 998. I have deleted Apple programs (including iTunes) and reloaded them. I have added the net framework files that the help page recommends. The thing is, sometimes it still won;t launch. I eave the computer for a couple of hours, try again, and voila, iTune launches. Any ideas?
