Fix Pack 2.4 Clickonce Package Is Broken

I'm getting this error on the latest SP2 2.4 Fix Pack Clickonce package
The value of the 'PublicKey' attribute in 'Crystal Reports 2008' does not match that of file 'c:\Program Files\Microsoft SDKs\Windows\v6.0A\Bootstrapper\Packages\CrystalReports 12.2\CRRuntime_12_2_mlb.msi'.
I think the public key in the XML file is wrong.
Any ideas?

Looks like my speculations were right. The public key in the product.xml file should be:

Fix Packs (4.1 & 4.2); Wont Install; Error message: CRC Failed in package

We receive the following message when we try to install fix packs 4.1 and 4.2. The fix pack will correct issues identified with the installation of service pack 4. The error message states: "Some installation files are corrupt. Please download a fresh copy and retry the installation".
I did a second download and receive the same error message. Has anyone else run into this problem while downloading the identified fix packs (4.1 & 4.2)?

Are you downloading from the new SAP site or the older BO ESD site located at http://businessobjects.subscribenet.com?
I know on the ESD site there is a link for "more details". This will bring up a page with the md5 sum of the file.
After downloading to your workstation you need to run a md5sum program against the downloaded file and make certain that the md5 sum matches what is listed on the ESD site. If it does not match, then your downloaded file is corrupted.
If you search the internet there are many free md5sum programs. It is usually already included on most unix and linux platforms with the command md5sum.
Are you downloading windows or unix patches?
If unix, do not use a windows zip utility. Always transfer the files to your unix server via binary mode ftp and then unzip/untar using unix utilities.

I have 2 questions.
1) What has changed in Crystal Reports Fix Pack 1.2 (Posted 01-13-2009)?
2) Is there a mailing list or RSS feed or something I can sign up to so that I am notified when a new HotFix / Service Pack is released for Crystal Reports 2008?

I did as you instructed but my problem is still unresolved...
I downloaded 'cr2008sp1_fp12.exe' from the [Business Objects Download Page|https://websmp230.sap-ag.de/sap(bD1lbiZjPTAwMQ==)/bc/bsp/spn/bobj_download/main.htm]
I ran the application and browsed to where the files were extracted in my case (C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Local Settings\Temp\package)
After investigating all the files I was unable to find a 'ReadMe' file.
Here is a summary of what I did find:
1) CrystalReports.msp
2) license_xx.xxx (License files in many different languages and in TXT, RTF and PDF)
3) What appears to be 'localized' versions of the same 'CrystalReports.msp' file
If anyone can give me a specific list of what is changed I would really appreciate it.

by using Crystal Reports 2008 V1 SP3 in combination with SAP Integration Kit 3.1 (SBOP INTEGRATION FOR SAP SOLUTIONS XI 3.1 SP3 WINDOWS (32B)) i get an error during the inportstep of the transports in our BW System.

Following the Notesteps there is one conclusion using the transport files from the "SAP Integration Kit to FixPack 3.1" . My problem is to find these named Fix Pack in the download area of the Marketplace.
An Fix Pack for the SAP Integration Kit itself seems to be not aviable,
therefore I tried several downloads beginning with:
Crystal Reports 2008 Fix Pack 3.1 - Click Once
Crystal Reports 2008 Fix Pack 3.1 - Redist Install
Crystal Reports 2008 SP3 Fix Pack 3.1
there are no transportfiles in any of these packages.
If any from you have some idea where to find the right transport files, please let me know.

you can go in Sap Support Portal -> Software Downloads-> BusinessObjects Downloads
in the left select "Search for Software Downloads" then in "Search Term" input:
BOBJINTGRSAP03P
You'll retrieve all available versions of IK SP3 with related fixpacks.

SBO 8.8 Crystal Reports 2008 SP01 Fix Pack 3

The 8.8 Administration Manual states that if CR 2008 SP01 is installed then Fix Pack 03 should be installed before installing SBO 8.8.
I cannot find a Fix Pack 03 on the SAP Crystal Reports Portal.
I can see Fix Pack 1.3 for SP01.
Is that the same thing?

SAP introduced special version of CR for B1. If your CR 2008 is CR 2008 Basic for B1 then the Fix Pack 3 should be already in the package. You can dowbload it in the CR landing page (S id required). it is not available as seprate package.

What version of the Visual C++ 8.0 Merge Modules is the latest Cyrstal Reports 2008 Fix Pack 2.7 looking for? I'm having issues getting the dlls to register.
CEReportSource.dll failed to regester and so on . . . .
I'm using InstallShield 2008 with a Visual Studio 2008 (but I have access to the Visual C++ runtimes from previous versions).

Search forums before posting. You are likely missing the C++ runtime distribution package on the destination OS.
Other posts have the Microsoft link to get them and include them with your package.
CR 2008 also requires 1.1 and 2.0 framework to be installed.
Use Dependency Walker on the dll that won't register and it should tell you what is missing.

Xcelsius Present 2008 Fix Pack 3.1

I wonder if anyone has been successfully downloaded
Xcelsius Present 2008 Fix Pack 3.1 (17.03.2010) from
Support für Business Objects/Software-Downloads.
I got a XCELSIUSPRES03_1.EXE file, witch is a self-exe rarfile.
The main file (packages/XcelsiusPresent.msp) stay corrupt,
even when downloading serveral times.
Anyone has this problem, too? Remember, I mean Present,
not Engaged/Enterprise.
Please help.

I am sorry but ABSOLUTELY NOT !!
If I click on the FP2 and choose "Save", it only saves a file named "cr2008_fp2.exe" which is a sel-extractible archive...
inside thas archive are
in the root :
Package Directory
ProductID.txt
setup.exe
setup.ini
In the Package Directory :
Langs Directory
CrystalReports.msp
In the Langs Directory
a Directory for each language, each one containing
CrystalReportLanguage2Letters.msp
setup.exe
setup.ini
So I really am sorry, BUT THERE IS NO README FILE !!!!!

Installing Crystal Reports 2008 fix pack 2.6 is breaking Crystal 2008 exe.

I have a package created to deploy Crystal 2008. I have included in my package SP1 and SP2 and that all works great. However, the issue is when I push fix pack 2.6, once that is pushed, and done running, then I try and open up Crystal 2008 I get an error that says, the exe can't be found or is corrupt, try to reinstall the program again. I can get the fix pack 2.6 to work fine when I manually install it. Is this an issue because fix pack 2.6 has to self extract first?
Please let me know what I can do to get everything working in the package, so I don't have to manually run the fix pack 2.6 manually.

What you are doing is not supported at all and may be a violation of the licensing. For users to get Crystal Reports Designer they must purchase a copy from SAP sales only unless you are an OEM partner and licensed to distribute in this way.
In all cases though we don't support building your own MSI in this way, only for distributing the runtime for an application you wrote. Installing Crw32.exe must be done from one of our CD's.
Please explain why you are building the MSI this way and if you are OEM Partner? If you are an OEM who is Account Manager here?

Crystal Reports 2008 Fix Pack 1.7 - Redist Install - Corrupt

In an attempt to resolve ongoing issues with running Crystal Reports on my Development Server I tried to download Crystal Reports 2008 Fix Pack 1.7 - Redist Install today.
When I attempt to open the zip file, I receive an error stating the zip file is corrupt.

I have read the sticky, however it does not address my issue. I am not getting Crystal Reports run time errors or any other run time errors. Sticky states that I should not use the 1.1 - 1.7 redists if I have 'older' versions of Crystal Reports on my system.
I am stating that the zip file is corrupt. By that I mean, I cannot extract any files from the zip file because the zip file itself is broken.
When I try to open with 'WinZip' the error message I receive is:
"Cannot open file: it does not appear to be a valid archive."
I have downloaded the file twice.

Sequence for Updates (Service Pack / Fix Pack)

Hello everybody.
I'm a bit confused about the update strategy.
Until now I was convinced that the strategy for the updates is or should be like this:
Service Pack 1 --> Fix Pack 1.1 --> Fix Pack 1.2 --> ... --> Fix Pack 1.x
Service Pack 2 --> Fix Pack 2.1 --> Fix Pack 2.2 --> ... --> Fix Pack 2.x
Service Pack 3 --> Fix Pack 3.1 ...
and so on, and so on.
There shouldn't be possible to install, e.g a Fix Pack 2.1 after the Service Pack 3 is installed.
But because of an problem with the connection server under Windows 2003 I'm not that sure anymore.
The story in short:
We've got installed the Service Pack 4 on the Enterprise.
After a few Windows updates the connection server didn't start anymore.
In the forum some say that this issue is fixed with the Fix Pack 3.6.
So first I wondered why the issue occurs on a system with a higher patch.
But the I've seen in the SAP Service Marketplace that the Fix Pack 3.6 is released after the Service Pack 4. Does this mean it is "more up to date"?
Is my image of the update sequence incorrect?

PS: My connection service problem was solved by uninstalling the windows update KB2509553 and a restart of the system.

the explanation of this is the following:
At some point they start with the development of SP4. Lets say they start the dev. of SP4 during the release SP3 FP3.5. So all fixes after FP3.5 wont get packed into SP4. Thats why FP3.6 will fix a bug which SP4 wont. With the release of FP4.1 this fix from FP3.6 will be packaged aswell into FP4.1
