FIX: Unable to update/change credit card for iCloud Storage

You may get an email from Apple that says that they are having a problem processing your credit card for iCloud Storage. The email then goes on to give you three instructions to fix this by tapping on SETTINGS -> iCLOUD then tapping on "Account" and then following on-screen instructions.
If (like me) you see that your card is OK but you are still getting the email and you cannot edit the payment details, this is what you do.
Turn off Family Sharing.
Once this is done, you will then see that the old card details are really what is trying to be used, and you can then update your payment option. This is not known about in front line support and it was only a high ranking tech support person in iTunes support who mentioned this in passing as a possible cure. Share it please as  failing to get your payment option correct can result in losing your iCloud Storage Plan and placing you back at basic free levels.

    Despite its flashy features and not being a standard beige box, Apple's iPad is a computer just like a laptop or desktop. And, just like laptops and desktops, sometimes iPad apps freeze, and the iPad gets stuck along with them. To fix this, you need to reset the iPad.
    Begin by pressing the hold and home buttons at the same time. The hold button is the one on the top right corner of the iPad. The home button is the round one at the bottom center of the iPad's front
    Continue to hold these buttons until one of two things happen: either the screen will flash and go dark, or a red slider will appear at the top of the screen
    If the slider appears, you can slide it to the right to turn off the iPad (or tap the cancel button if you change your mind)
    When the iPad's screen goes dark, the iPad is off
    Restart the iPad by holding down the Hold button until the Apple icon appears. Let go of the buttons and the iPad reset will be complete.
    Resetting the iPad shouldn't normally cause you to lose and data or settings.

    I had the same issue, Sent Email offering £7.99 for 25 GB. Then sent me an Email at 2.52AM saying I needed to update my payment method although they had just refunded to it. Then 7 hours later, I had tried to before work at 7AM and thought, "as it won't let me do that on my iphone, I'll do it at lunch." Sadly at 9:56 am UK time, They reduced my storage.
    Having Wasted an hour on the phone tonight, they first tried to explain that £7.99 is More than £0.79 times 12. Doh!
    That was followed with lots of being on hold and then being told "We can't go back, We Can't make a refund. We agree it was short notice and that we didn't do it well, there are lots of issues about this and also that we never offered you that (till the saw the email)" So no better off and now having to pay more for same service. That's pretty poor service all around. I have to upgrade as All my files, Backups and Emails are inoperative Till I do so.
    That's pretty bad for a company of this size, Guess they need some more bad press at the moment.

    You can use them to buy ibooks from the ibookstore - and also for items from iTunes, the app store and Mac App Store.
    I assume that you are going to give the card(s) as presents ? You can't buy a card, redeem it onto your account, and then use your account's balance to gift items from the store, gifting can only be done via a credit card (and ibooks can't be gifted).

    1. The FI you are trying to access is deactivated
    2. The access to the FI is restricted for specific IP addresses, and your address is not one of them.

  • Trying to update my credit card for Creative Cloud account but chat support is always repeating the same thing?

    I'm just trying to update my credit card info for my Creative Cloud account, it's been 6 times I've contacted chat support.
    Every time they repeat the same questions & answers over & over.
    "What's the name on the card?"
    -I give it to them.
    "It will take 4 to 5 hours to update."
    -I wait a day, same problem, then contact them again, same question & same answer. They don't give me a reason or any indication why my card didn't get charged.
    I re-phrase my questions, always same answer:
    "Your payment details are updated, your account will be activated in 4-5 hours."
    Are they robots?
    Is there actually somebody on the end of the chat, is it possible to talk to a supervisor or someone that could help me give you money so my account doesn't expire?

    Well, today my tools are going to be deactivated because my account is expiring.
    Still no solution or feedback on the status of the issue relating to the fact that my valid credit card is stuck in a processing limbo in their payment system.
    The biggest lesson learned is that subscription software & cloud based services are too risky for a professional production pipeline.
    Imagine if I had employees and a huge deadline this week, I would have to explain to my clients that the reason I can't deliver is because Adobe can't process my credit card for whatever reason, and they deactivated my tools.
    Now, I probably won't be able to work today but at least this situation as forced me to re-evaluate how I'm going to build my new workflows and those of my clients.
    I was actually planning to convert my video production pipeline to Adobe Premiere but now, it's guaranteed I'm staying with Final Cut.
    Same thing for my photo retouching & motion workflows, I'm stripping out every Adobe Cloud tool from it.

    Can you post a screen shot of where you are clicking before getting the error, the link that gives the error and the exact error itself? I want to report it but need more info.
    Our support can generally change it for you if needed also, which might be a workaround in the meantime.

    I cannot find anywhere on my profile or order where I can change the credit card number for my monthly Creative Cloud billing.

    After wasting 90 minutes, over half of that waiting for phone support, the phone support person, after 20 minutes, came to a conclusion that because the monthly billing was supposed to happen yesterday, the 'Edit' billing option is not available, and I should check back later to see if the Edit option reappears. In the meantime, he says that my account will be 'suspended', if my credit card is not available for billing. I am not sure of the implications of that (can't use the software on my PC; my business catalyst sites are taken offline?), but this situation is making me think twice about this subscription solution. If I am going to be subject to such a waste of time, waiting an hour and a half for a simple billing issue; with my use of the software, and website availability, at risk, this subscription is too risky for me. I am just in the third month of trying this out.
    Note: My credit card company notified me Friday of a fraudulent $20 charge to my card in the Dominican Republic (I'm not even sure where that is), so we cancelled the card, and they sent me a new card that arrived today (Monday). First time that has happened to me, but that is not as bad as having my software usage and website availability 'suspended'.
