Fix/Workaround for iCal 3/Yahoo Error?

I'm running Mac OS X 10.5 and iCal 3.0.8. This should work over CalDAV, but I'm getting an error.
I tried following the instructions for connecting iCal to Yahoo! Calendar over CalDav (http://help.yahoo.com/kb/index?page=content&id=SLN3744 ) but they don't work with iCal 3.0.8 (Mac OS X 10.5) as there is no list from which to choose Yahoo!.
So I tried to use the info on syncing a mobile device via CalDAV (http://help.yahoo.com/kb/index?locale=en_US&page=content&y=PROD_MAIL_ML&id=SLN47 07 ). This should work as iCal 3 supports CalDAV, but it only partially works. I get the US Holidays calendar fine, but my personal calendar isn't displayed. Instead I get a "Connection Failed" message which says, "There may be a problem with the server or network. Check the settings for account caldav.calendar.yahoo.com" or try again. Request encountered an unexpected error (domain NSCocoaErrorDomain / code 1560)."
Does anyone know how a work-around or fix for this error?

Airport Express fix/workaround for freezing

I had a problem with my Airport Express freezing and Apple did not know what could be causing this. I found an article on Macfixit suggesting to revert to the previous firmware revision - in the case of Airport Express 6.1.1. Having done this, the unit is now stable. Downgrade AirPort Extreme firmware for repeated dropouts (lapses in connectivity)
We continue to report on the issue of AirPort Base stations (including the AirPort Extreme Base station, AirPort Express, and older units) suddenly refusing to operate properly -- unable to access the Internet, transfer print jobs, etc. -- continues to be a prominent detractor to an otherwise solid product line.
Symptoms of this issue are usually as follows: A base station configured and working properly, allowing connected Macs and Windows machines access to Web sites, e-mail and other Internet functions; as well as allow intra-network activity like sending of print jobs and file transfers to occur. Suddenly, the base station becomes non-functional. It remains on, and can be viewed from the AirPort menubar item, generally with no degradation of apparent signal strength, but disallows any connectivity to the Internet and cannot send print jobs to USB or Ethernet-connected printers.
Emerging as the most commonly successful solution for this issue is a downgrade of AirPort Base station firmware to version 5.5.1. Reverting (or updating to) this edition of the firmware has eliminated dropouts for a surprisingly high number users. The current AirPort Extreme firmware version, with which many users are experiencing dropouts, is 5.7.
In order to install firmware version 5.5.1, simply download the package, launch the updater application and follow the on-screen instructions, selecting your afflicted Base station.
A couple caveats: This workaround is only applicable to AirPort Extreme Base stations, not AirPort Express or regular AirPort Base stations. Also, downgrading your firmware potentially poses some significant security risks that should not be overlooked. By reverting, you'll also lose the enhancements made in the latest firmware edition (5.7), including purported performance enhancements.
Still, the astounding success with which this workaround has been applied makes it a good option for users who cannot reasonably use their AirPort Extreme Base stations for extended periods of time.
As described by one reader:
"I have about 60 Airports, all Extremes. We had continual issues with them 'freezing.' No pattern could be seen at all. Power outages sometimes accompanied them. We'd have to visit them and power down/ power up to get them working again. My Apple rep told me the solution was using the updater for firmware version 5.5.1. Worked like a charm. We haven't had a return of the issue."
MacFixIt reader Garvin Boudle adds:
"We have 12 Airport Extreme base stations and all started to drop like flies after upgrading to the latest firmware. After three weeks of restarting the units, I downgraded the firmware to the previous version and have not seen one problem since. The problem has nothing to do with NAT as that function is not in use."

I had the same thing happening to me. Over the course of 3/4 year it got worse and one day the thing just stopped working. Of course that was beyond the warranty period .
If it is still under warranty: return the thing.

Any workaround for Program too large error?

When a program of size 5432 lines compiled(it is having 4 cursor definitions attached to huge select statement from multiple tables), getting an error "PLS-00123 Program too large". Oracele error manual suggests to split the program. Is there any other way to make it work without splitting? (I mean setting some system variables?)

If the problem is the size of the cursors all in the declare section, then you may be able to declare them initially as ref cursors, then having four separate sub procedures opening them so that the text of the cursors are in the subprocedures.
Alternatively, stick the selects into views.

I am desperate to get access to my itunes to get music on my phone and all of this just makes me want me to sell my iphone since there is no other way to add music to my phone. The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Workaround for "An error occurred while contacting the radio tuning service. Check your Internet connection, or try again later."

While Apple tries to figure out what's wrong I came upon a great workaround for those of us that like the radio feature of iTunes. This actually doesn't take long either.
When trying to expand the categories you get the error "An error occurred while contacting the radio tuning service. Check your Internet connection, or try again later." This happens enough to think that the service is completely broken. Actually, it seems intermittent. Try clicking it a few times. you WILL GET THROUGH. When you do get there, highlight all of the stations(or just the ones you want), create a playlist (I use the name of the category as I take the entire list), and paste into the playlist. You can then play the stations EVERY TIME from the playlist. Works perfectly.
It doesn't seem to have anything to do with what version of iTunes you have or what plugin you have. I have seen this on over 600 computers - Windows & MAC - and the workaround is 100%.

there is normally no workaround for internal LV errors. Report the error through the support pages to NI. Together with your VIs they will be able to fix the problem.

ICal Error: "No virtual host found for iCal Service" - Help!

Trying to set up iCal on OS X Server 10.5.6
Server is up and running and successfully providing web services on its FQDN. Server is not currently used to support network users / services, but as and when it does it will be the Master Opendirectory server.
I have created a couple of test accounts on the server (simply in the Users group) and enabled both for Calendar Access.
I have provided the details of the FQDN on the iCal page, and checked that the default port (8008) has been opened in the firewall.
In web services there is one virtual domain (using name based virtual server) and the default domain in operation. Both appear to be functioning as would be expected.
When I click on 'start service' for iCal, I get this error.
"No virtual host found for iCal service"
I cannot find any information about this in iCal manual, or online documentation. Can anyone here provide pointer to where this information is, or what it means?
Would be most grateful.

I have downloaded my family movies captured on Hi8 video through a Dazzle hollywood DV-bridge to the iMac. Everything went well until I tried to finalize the project.

Workaround for ORA-04030 error

we've encountered the following error:
ORA-04030: out of process memory when trying to allocate 296 bytes (callheap, koposal dvoid)
all of the research i've done points to setting up the database with a Very Large Memory configuration, which will be carried out at a later date as we're still in the development stage.
is there a possible workaround for this error?

Taken at face value, you're having trouble with an Apple Application Support program file there. (Apple Application Support is where single copies of program files used by multiple different Apple programs are kept.)
Let's try something relatively simple first. Restart the PC. If you're using Vista or 7, now head into your Uninstall a program control panel, select "Apple Application Support" and then click "Repair". If you're using XP, head into your Add or Remove Programs control panel, select "Apple Application Support", click "Change" and then click "Repair".
If no joy after that, try the more rigorous uninstall/reinstall procedure from the following post. (If you've got XP, although the procedure is for Vista and 7, just read "Computer" as "My Computer", read "Uninstall a program control panel" as "Add or Remove programs control panel" and assume the system is 32-bit, and you'll be doing the right things.)

Blacklisting the ahci module does indeed get rid of the error. Would be nice to figure out why it was conflicting with the ahci module though.
I have not yet tried the 173xx drivers, but the latest drivers for the Quadro FX 580 are the 256.53 drivers according to nvidia.
Posted at the nV forums (http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=155282), so we'll see what they suggest.

what web server you're using, so I can't be of too much help, however, you
might want to try adding to your obj.conf file:
Error fn="query-handler" code=503 path="/path/to/file"
Which in theory, should serve up the file located at "/path/to/file" when a
503 error is generated.
