Fixed Assets Mass Addition

Hi,
We have the below requirement in 11i:
When there is a mass addition, there should be an option to assign accounting code combinations at a category or setup level so that it defaults to all items on a divisional accounting basis. This is to enable divisional accounting for Balance Sheet and Depreciation (Profit & Loss).
Is this possible using standard functionality?

I am using Solution beacon vision instance and have tried entering an asset using mass additions and below are my observations:
I entered the Asset book, Transaction date, asset category, number of units and than clicked on the Assignments button and entered the Expense Account and Location.
For the expense acount the system is automatically defaulting the following:
Company Segment Value - 01 as company value (since the default value has been set at the Key Flexfields segments window)
Account Segment Value - Depreciation expense account (This value is being defaulted from the Asset category window based on the Category setup)
Sub-Account - Defaulted as 0000 (since the default value has been set at the Key Flexfields segments window)
Product - Defaulted as 0000 (since the default value has been set at the Key Flexfields segments window)
The system is prompting me to enter the value for the department segment as it is not automatically defaulted. (No Default value has been set at the Key flexfields segments window)
I didnt find a place where in i can see the asset clearing account or cip clearing account was being asked or used while creating mass additions.
When the asset is being brought from other module such as Payables, than the Asset clearing account or CIP Clearing account would have been entered at the Invoice distributions level and that is being brought into the Mass additions window and is displayed in the source tab screen.
But apart from the above i have not been able to find a tab/field wherein system asks or prompt me to enter the other accounts as mentioned by you.
Based on the above, do you find any difference of what you might be seeing or the accounts being defaulted.

    For commitment ans Actual Cost Updation please check you cutomization settings.
    AUC (Asset Under Construction) gets created once WBSE Element is Released provided that Investment Profile is defined in Project Profile configuration.
    Asset number get created after Full settlement of WBSE and Asset Completed.
    Please check.

  • Assets Mass Addition error-APP-OFA-48400

    Hi,
    We are working on Oracle Applications 11i. The Assets user have run the post mass additions and the Mass Additions post gave no output when it completes successfully (POST MASS ADDITIONS REPORT and two of the MASS ADDITIONS POST resulted in error before the thired one completes successfully) and there is still one item X in the POST queue in the mass additions.
    Item X was one of two items in the same PO and same invoice the second item Y was POSTED successfully and now has an asset number.
    I have checked the po charge accounts, ap expense account and fa clearing account and they match.
    Any clues?
    This matter is urgernt please due to the period closing.
    Found the following error in one of the logs:
    At least one of the child requests failed.
    Cause: At least one of the child requests spawned to run Mass Additions Post failed.
    Action: Check the Mass Additions Post log files to find out what caused the request to fail.
    Error: function famgpi returned failure (called from FAMAPT)

    unfortunately, i have no access to metalink these days.
    We had also the following error ; on the attempt to open the assignment form of the item:
    APP-OFA-48317: the employee to which this distribution line is assigned is no longer valid.
    when the form opens there is no emmploye visible in the assignment line.
    and in the table FA_MASSADD_DISTRIBUTIONS an employee_id is there.
    So, I chose an employee in the form and saved it, then I cleared the employee from the line and saved again.
    Finally the problem is solved.

  • BDC Fixed Assets mass change

    Hi Everybody!
    I would like to enquire about how to edit a recording for a specific transaction.
    I need to make a mass change for hundreds of fixed assets ( e.g. cost center / responsible cost center ) in SAP. In our old system version we had a t-code for this mass change called ZAMASS01. Point is, I cannot use it in the new SAP version so I have to upload this data via BDC manually,
    I have tried to record the transaction ( AS02 ) in SHDB but after I saved the recording and tried to Edit it.
    Apparently I do not have access for further actions. All I did was to export the .txt file but it's useless.
    Can someone help me generate the BDC file?

    In Oracle FA Descriptive flexfield information will be copied only if assets are being reclassified within the same major category. The descriptive flexfields should be set up with the same segments in both the old and the new category. Otherwise, descriptive flexfield information in the old category may be copied incorrectly into an incorrect segment in the new category. If a segment in the old category and a corresponding segment in the new category have different formats (for example, segment 1 in the old category is alphanumeric and segment 1 in the new category is in date format), the information will be copied, but you will need to correct the descriptive information in that segment.

  • Fixed Assets Mass Reclassification

    I would like to know if there is a way of using the Mass Reclassification process in Fixed Assets (E-business Suite 11.5) to move assets between major categories without losing the information stored in the DFF's
    There is an option to tick 'Copy Category Descriptive Flexfield to New Category' but that only allows you to use it when you are staying within the same Major Category.
    Any info would be appreciated..

    When you run a report you can save the assets in a Worklist (in the report)
    Fixed Assets  / Environment /  Worklist
    AR01 - Generate worklist select there the button WL.
    When you have you asset numbers in EXCEL you can run the report and copy the asset numbers in the field asset numbers.
    By case you can create a worklist.
    When you found this to difficult you create to an LSMW for it

    In the GL Journal entry it looks perfect, but not in FIXED ASSETS
    This is on 11.5.10.2.0
    Depreciation amount is not correct in Fixed assets and Any thoughts on that or please let us know how to go about

    I am pasting my comments next to yours :
    These are the issues that needs to be resolved:
    • Depreciated balance are over stated in Fixed Assets and needs to be adjusted to reflect what is in GL. => I wasn't sure how this was was possible, since I  assumed that your Asset depreciation journals in GL were being fed from FA. So if depreciation was thought to be incorrect in FA, its corresponding balance in GL should've been incorrect as well. But I guess that's not the case because your other questions imply that some of these assets were acquired and their might have been some conversion activity involved.
    • Fixed Assets mass additions are selecting GL accounts that should not be selected. We need to know how to change the criteria for selection. +=> Check the Asset Clearing and CIP clearing accounts on your asset categories+
    Later:
    • We need to learn the proper way to convert assets we acquired from acquisition into our Oracle Fixed Assets system, so that depreciation start at the time we acquire the assets. => That is correct, you could change your original date placed in service to the acquisition date as part of conversion and if you have the correct prorate convention, they should depreciate the way you want it to.

  • Oracle 11i Fixed Assets - Additions Error Message Company is not value

    I have created Fixed Assets Corporate Book and trying to add a new record through Assets Workbench and Addition Option. When I try to create information in Assignment Detail to enter Expenses Account and I am selecting Expense Account but getting Message "Company is not value for Book selected (Company Name1 should be 01, Company Name2 should be 02, Company Name3 should be 03)
    It shows message with old existing Corporate Book.
    Do you have any idea Why this message is shown.

  • Mass transfer for AUC to Fixed assets

    Hi,
    I would like to do a mass transfer from AUC assets to fixed assets. 900 new fixed assets have been created. However, the AUC settlement to 900 assets are very tedious. Are there any batch processing available for this ?
    Or can I use via LSMW ?

    Prepare an excel sheet with columns as shown in the settlement rules screen and then paste it into settle rules screen.

  • Bind Additional User Defined Fields at Fixed Assets

    Hi, i already created additional user defined fields at fixed assets table, but i don't know how to bind the fields into edit text. i try to do like below :

    And also when i add a few new edittext at the fixed assets form, the screen will keep blinking during added that object, can i did something to freeze the form ? I already try to freeze the form but doesn't work

  • Is there any way to rollback mass changes in Oracle 11i Fixed Assets?

    Hi there,
    We are currently undergoing a massive change in assets depreciation rate with amortization date starting from 01-jan-13. To achieve this we decided to use MassTransactions -> Changes  in Oracle Fixed Assets.
    There is a preview available, which shows the results on the assets that are affected as well as the changes that we have decided to make. On the other hand, the preview does not consider the accounting results of the change so there is no way to see how the depreciation is affected.
    However, someone could see the results using the what-if analysis, but in that case there is no option to use the amortization date in order to see the changes that the adjustment will create.
    The only way we could really see the final results is to perform the mass change and then do a test depreciation and see the results. But in case where something is not acceptable by us, is there ANY way to rollback/undo the mass changes we did in the specific period?
    If there is no way to do this from the UI, is there any other from the db? ( I know that messing with assets is like playing with fire )

    I was investigating and I managed to deactivate wf,  now I can execute the transaction, but not successful. The system show the next message " They do not exist responsible for task " and when checking the customizing the fixed assets (OAWF) the task have a responsible.
    So I do not know that to do.

    I am new to my Company who is using Oracle 11i. And the Company has a new class of fixed asset and a GL code has been created. But there is no link between the Fixed Asset Manager and the GL code, i.e. depreciation is not linked, additions are not captured into "Cost register", no asset number was assigned in Oracle. Please help.

    Hi.
    No, Simon, it does not work that way.
    First, be sure that the distribution line has the flag "Track as Asset" checked.
    Second, the GL Account to be used on the distribution line must be the one defined, in the FA Asset Category, as the Asset Clearing Account.
    In FA, navigate to /Setup/Asset System/Asset Categories. Following, query a Category. There you can see which account has been used as the Asset Clearing Account.
    You can use as many Asset Clearing accounts as you which, but normally, all Categories share the same account.
    Now reverse the distribution line and cretae a new one with the correct account. Post it, run the Mass Additions Process and you will see the that the addition was created.
