Fixed block & text

Hi,
can anyone help with these two questions;
1) Can the "blank" boxes be removed (in the layout format there are always 'blank' boxes that can neither take text or a photo....
+- ie can these be removed/made transparent+
2) can the text in a text 'block' be moved into one of the (above/blank) mentioned boxes?
It seems so silly to have these (non appliable) boxes that you can not do anything with?
the layout works great, but why have a Blank solid block, why not just make it transparent, so the background is there instead of a solid 'blank' box?
any thoughts, please...?

Which template set are you using? I haven't seen anything like you're describing.
Anything can be added/removed when you go to Gear Icon--> SHOW MASTER PAGES --> click on a Master to edit it.
BUT you remove it for one page, and it disappears for ALL pages that use that page template!

Use of IF inside a Fix block

Hi,
I am having issues with use of IF inside a FIX ... END FIX block. I am trying to check for the value of a substitution variable inside a calculation script. Based on the value of the Subst Variable, statements inside the IF block should get executed.
CALC Script 1 :
FIX(x,y,z,"Final","Local",&SubstVariable1,&SubstVariable2)
IF(&SubstVariable3="Yes")
DataExport
ENDIF;
END FIX;
CALC Script 1 above gives the warning message as "CALC command [IF] can only be used within a calc member block"
Therefore I modified it as below
CALC Script 2 :
FIX(x,y,z,"Final",&SubstVariable1,&SubstVariable2)
Local
IF(&SubstVariable3="Yes")
DataExport
ENDIF;
END FIX;
This gives the error message as Error Parsing formula for Local, [(] without [)]

You are still missing something after the DataExport:
From the Tech Ref:
For a text output file:
DATAEXPORT "File" "delimiter" "fileName" "missingChar"
For a binary output file:
DATAEXPORT "Binfile" "fileName"
For direct export to a relational database using ODBC:
DATAEXPORT "DSN" "dsnName" "tableName" "userName" "password"
Also, you need to set your DataExport options.
SET DATAEXPORTOPTIONS
DataExportLevel ALL | LEVEL0 | INPUT;
DataExportDynamicCalc ON | OFF;
DataExportDecimal n;
DataExportPrecision n;
DataExportColFormat ON | OFF;
DataExportColHeader dimensionName;

DataExportOverwriteFile ON | OFF;
DataExportDryRun ON | OFF;
Also, I am assuming that you are running 9.3.1 or higher as this is when the dataexport option became available.

There is no way to block text messages. You may wish to report them to your carrier

How to block text messages but not calls from a specific number

I want to block text messages from my father but not his phone calls. Is there a way to do this? I have an iPhone 5, but don't want to upgrade to IOS7 yet.

You have a fantastic phone, joy3141. I double checked features for the iPhone 5 and confirmed there's not a way to block messages from a specific contact without blocking calls too. Our Call & Message Blocking http://vz.to/MqEgqB is a great way to block unwanted contact from specific numbers, but it would block both calls & messages. If your dad is on your account and you're hoping to block all of his text messages to or from anyone, there is a text message block available at www.vzw.com/serviceblocks you can add to his line.

Is there anyway to manage my contacts or an app so that I can temporarily block text messages at certain times of the day?

Hi,
I am wanting to block text messaging that I sometimes receive from clients after hours, and I want to know is there an app like there is for android phones that has lists that you can create so certain people can be sent an auto reply when they send you a message?
I don't want to block the numbers completely just at weekends and/or after hours and I still want to be able to receive phone calls from those numbers as an option.

Exporting Crystal .rpt to a fixed length text file

I am attempting to write a Crystal report that formats data to be exported to a fixed length text file. Each record will be made up of a number of fields with specific start locations and lengths. Is there any way to set the field start position and field length. I've been able to adjust the character per inch text export parameter to get close, but I can't update the paramete any longer.
How can I reset the "Characters per inch" text export parameter?

Exporting to fixed length text using Crystal Enterprise 10

I would like to know if it is possible to export from Crystal Enterprise 10 to a fixed length text file similar to the text exporting option using Crystal Reports 8.5. From Enterprise 10 I see you can export to Rich Text Format but that is not really the same.

Download data to Fixed Length Text File

Can anyone share the sample code on how to download data into fixed length text file and place the file in the server directory?

One way i would advice is to declare a text variable and move values using offset.
Eg:
move: <struc>-fld1 to l_text(8),
<struc>-fld2 to l_text+8(3),
<struc>-fld3 to l_text+11(15).
transfer l_text to <file>.
Try this approch and see the result.

Are blocked texts still "billed" by the carrier?

My mother does not a texting plan because she never texts and only receives texts from spammers. While I know that the blocked texts from spammers will not appear on her iPhone, will they be counted by the carrier (in this case AT&T) as an incoming text message, even if it is not technically delivered? Obviously it will save her the headache of receiving unwanted texts, but will she still be billed for them?

She can forward them to AT&T directly at short code 772-6. She will then get an automated reply asking her to reply with the senders "sent from" address (these texts with AT&T are all free as well). If they respond that they cannot identify the sender (happens often with short codes), she can call customer care at the number in the text and ask them to block that short code for her account.
Since she is paying per text, I think that reporting throught the automated SPAM report system will also automatically credit her account for the billed spam messages, but you might want to call AT&T and confirm that actually happens.

You can't just download it, you must also run the installer. Did you do that step?

You will get this warning, if your book includes textboxes that still include the default text, like "Insert Title". You need to find these boxes and add your own text. Look for boxes like this:
Make a PDF-preview of your book and look, where the preview differs from what you are seeing in iPhoto.

I upgraded my operating system from OS X 10.5.8 to OS X 10.6.8 (Snow Leopard) and since then ITV Player player, YouTube, Classic FM, in fact any website involving streaming of audio or video produced the "blocked plug-in" error. I made numerous attempts to solve this, most of which involved re-installing Adobe Flash Player. None worked. I then tried a different browser, Google Chrome instead of Safari, and all now works perfectly. So the problem appears to be with Safari.

We've been able to reproduce that Flash ads, that are currently animating, block text input into rich-text areas. Has anyone heard of this?

I should add, they do not block all text input, just every 10th (or so) character.
