"fixed" my G5, but can't calibrate

I'll try and make this brief and appreciate any help I can get.
I've had an original Dual 2.0Ghz G5 since late October 2003. It always gave me a little trouble with the odd kernel panic and the like, but it wasn't regular enough to send in, or replace. This summer the frequency of kps and freezes got so high I was forced to replace the machine with a Dual 2.5Ghz G5 that we picked up at CompUSA for nearly nothing (heavy discount). My new machine works flawlessly which is a welcome change. The old machine has been sitting in a back room ever since.
Well, the original Dual G5 is a work machine and I was trying to resurrect it for use as a FCP editing system (and yes, I have a valid license). I've tried everything, we even brought it into a Apple Authorized Repair shop and they couldn't find anything wrong with it. It booted and passed the AHT. I removed all the 2rd party RAM, formatted the drives and loaded the system fresh (Tiger, Panther and Jaguar).
Recently I've had some time to play with it and it seemed to have gotten so bad that it would freeze on boot from HD. I could boot from install CD and install an OS on the drive, but when I tried to boot from the HD, it would freeze, usually just as the main UI was coming up (i.e. desktop background then freeze). I ran the AHT and it came up clean. I even ran an (Option-L) extended AHT over a weekend and it still came up clean.
Fearing a bad processor, or logic board and knowing that the machine is out of warranty (no AppleCare), I decided to pull processors and see what would happen. I tried pulling processor 1 (per the Apple Repair manual) and the system still froze. I then pulled processor 0 and put processor 1 in it's place. To my JOY it worked fine. No freezes, no kps and I ran a temperature probe on the system and the processor reads 80degF. It has been running for several hours now with NO problems. Wonderful stuff. AHT gives a post 1088 error on boot but all components pass a test. (see below for what I think that post 1088 message is)
I even loaded the 5.1.5f2 uni-processor firmware which worked fine as well. I'm more than content running this system as a single processor machine since the alternative is a $550 processor, or no machine at all.
There is one problem though. The fans run at full speed ALL the time. From what I understand this is caused by the logic board recognizing that a processor has been replaced and running the fans hot until a "Thermal Calibration" is run on the system (I think this might be that 1088). I found this in another post
"When you replace a processor, the system automatically goes into 747 mode (safety mode) to protect itself, because the computer doesn't know how hot the new processor will get.
There is a CD that Apple Technicians have that calibrates the system. You may need to get hold of this CD (I had one once) or take it to an Apple Store and ask them to calibrate it for you."
My question is this....
Is there any way I can reset the logic board without the Apple Thermal Calibration software? Or, is there any place I can find such software?
Thanks.

Joseph:
Fascinating story with a happy ending! Wish I could give you the answer you want, i.e., a way to get the Thermal Calibration software. However, I just had an Apple-authorized tech from QualXserve at my house to replace fans on a Dual 2.0 GHz G5. He brought a disk with the Thermal Calibration test and ran it on my system. Further, he told me that it is available for download and implied that he had downloaded it for his use.
So, all I'm offering is encouragement that you can get the software. Good luck!
P.S. Your Dual 2.0 GHz G5 must have been part of the batch that were released right after UVA 'highjacked' the first batch! I've also had mine since October 2003. AppleCare has replaced one of its two hard drives and a fan assembly.
