Fixed order of photos for album w/o sorting

When importing photos, PSE (by default) imports using a LIFO (Last In First Out) method - hence photos are in choronological order from last to first taken. If photos are from, say, a vacation, this is a problem since nobody wants to see their vacation photos in reverse order.
This can be rectified by Sorting: Date (Oldest First).
However, this sorts the entire Catalog.
My question is: is there any way to use this Sort: Date (Oldest First) and then to assign a Fixed Order to the photos in the album so that I will not have to go through this each time I view the album.
I realize that I can arrange the photos manually, however, in the example I am thinking of there are over 2k photos.

Since you used the term "Album" I suspect that you are using PS Elements version 6 or 7. (for future reference it is better to include the version number of PSE when you post because sometimes it makes a difference)
I think that this will work for you, but I am not currently in a place where I can verfiy it: -
After you have created the Album, Right click on the NAME of the Album in the pane on the right and there should be a choice for
b Chronological Sequence
in that menu.
If your photos are all from the same camera, then that should give you the sequence you want. If your photos are from multiple cameras, then your results will be influenced by whether both cameras time stamps were the same (or very close). If you do have multiple cameras, you can use the Organizer Date/Time change adjustment commands to bring the times closer in sync.

Could you confirm that when you re-open the sorted album, the display order on the top bar just over the browsing space is still in 'album' order ? That order may have been changed to a date order. you can set key image for albums page, as long as the image is one of the first of 50 images in the album (aka photos page) and you need to know how iweb widgets work.

How can I change dates on photos in Elements so I can control order of photos in album in adoberevel

I have some of my photos in adoberevel albums, and have learned the only way to change the order of those photos in those albums is to change the date or event in my Elements 9 library. I'd prefer to work with changing the photo date, but don't know how. Can anyone help me?

Jon, Thanks for responding. I have only the "free" cloud uploads allowed on Revel, so they were uploaded automatically some time ago. When I first looked at them, they appeared to be a total disaster and I decided not to look again, and was happy to keep my images on my computer in Elements 9. But looking yesterday (someone had contacted me about images of my art), I found things looked better. The only problem is the sequencing of the images, and from what I read on a Community thread is that I have to change either the dates or the events. Well, today I saw how to change the dates on Adobe (only did it with one photo as a test), but that ____ so far___ has not changed the sequence in Revel. So, I will close and re-boot my computer to see if that makes a difference, and get righy back to you. Thanks again for responding!

Arranging the placement and order of photos for print or web

This is something I was expecting with the first Lightroom and it still seems to be clunky in 2.3...
Basically, there doesn't seem to be a way we can simply click and drag photos we want to be together and have them in orders of our choosing. The closest I've been able to find is when in picture package mode in the Print section. What is frustrating is that when I select most other templates, I can't just move the photos I want grouped together to where I'd like them to be. On the flip side, when in the picture package mode and I populate the frames by dragging photos to them, unlike contact sheet/grid mode, one can't move the photo around within that frame...
My understanding of Lightroom was that it made it easy for photographers to deal with their photos. For me, I like to be able to just move and group fluidly for print and web to see how pictures complement and flow regardless of tag, filename, or random selected order.
I can't imagine I'm the only one with this frustration, is there a remedy?

Thanks for that everyone you were right! I was being super-DUper sMart and Brilliant there and had only been trying to re-arrange within the layout window of the Print and Web areas. I think I was just assuming I was having the same trouble from Lightroom 1 and just stopped trying since it seemed the files either never moved or didn't stick (can't remember now). Hi everybody... When I place a folder with photos in it and sync it with iTunes on my iPad they are not in the order that I want to view them or play as a slideshow. I've tried numbering the files in order, but that didn't work. Is there away of doing this?

When syncing folders the photos are ordered by capture date - the only way to alter the order (apart from using iPhoto or Aperture on a Mac) is to amend the photo's capture dates : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4221

Not sure how to do this. It's not as intuitive as I had hoped.

When the slideshow is selected you can drag/drop the thumbnails at the top of window into any order.

and FOQ = 1260
The need is to split the Planned order to our lines of 1260 while repecting MOQ
The result was that Planning engine blank the MOQ to null and egnore MOQ
has anyone face this issue and can exaplin why this is behave

I think what want is 5 planned orders of 1260 each so that the total is greater than 5400.
Planning engine applies the order modifier to each planned order.
It does NOT apply them across a group of planned orders.
So what you want cannot be done out of the box.

Photos for OS X: Displaying & Sorting Photos by NAME

In the new photos app, it doesn't appear that you can:
1) Display the name of the photos;
2) Batch change file names;
3) Sort images by file name (instead of date).
Is this true?
Is there a work around?
(Apple, if this functionality isn't present, please include in a future update.)

How can I sort photos by date taken in Photos for OS X

Photos sort by Moments, which seems badly broken - photos from one date and location end up in multiple moments, while one moment can have photos from multiple dates and locations. Photos are not in date/time order.
Photos under Albums sort by date/time of import - useless.

I'd like this feature as well. I tend to browse my photos by date in Aperture, but on ios thay always appear in some bizzare random order.

first off, why isn't there a a community for the new Photos app?
Anyway, here is my problem:
How can i sort my albums on the new Photos app on iOS?
I think it's not possible at the moment.
I am using the iCloud Photo library and uploadet all of my 15.000 photos from the last 15 years.
And because of that, i now have many many albums on Photos now.
Overall i love the new app and i love the iCloud Photo library, but i cannot sort my albums on the iOS app automatically in alphabetical order.
I can sort albums manual, but who wants that, when you have so many of them???
I have Photos on my Mac too and there i am able to do sort them in alphabetical order. But it is not adopted to iOS or the iCloud Web-App.
Because of that, i have a complete picture chaos on my iPhone and when i am looking for this one pic in that one album it takes me forever to find it.
So please Apple, fix this and we all can live happily ever after!

Moments in Photo are the new Events. T
here's a way to simulate events in Photos.
When the library was first migrated there was a folder created titled iPhoto Events and all migrated iPhoto Events are represented by an album in the folder. To open the sidebar if it's not open use the Option+Command+S key combination.
When new photos are imported into the Photos library go to the Last Import smart album, select all the photos and use the File ➙ New Album menu option or use the key combination Command+N. Name it as desired. It will appear just above the iPhoto Events folder where you can drag it into the iPhoto Events folder
When you click on the iPhoto Events folder you'll get a simulated iPhoto Events window showing all of the albums.
The downside to this simulation is that the Album/Events can only be sorted automatically by Title while viewed in the Folder in the main window or in the sidebar. But they can be sorted manually.

No. Apple only keeps the pdf file for a book for 30 days. Without the library and book project you won't be able to reorder the same book.

I have 278 photos in Photoshop Elements 13 that I want to upload in album order to Shutterfly for a book.

I am using Photoshop Elements 13 and Windows 8.1. I have my photos in album order and I want to load them in this order. When I try to load them to the Cloud they become disorganized. I can not find a way to upload them to Shutterfly to make a book. Is there a way to do this?

This is a two part process. First we title the photos, then we export them, using the title as filename.
To title them
Once you have then in the order you want select them all and go
Photos -> Batch Change. Select set 'Title' to 'Text'
Choose a Title -> Graduation 2013 or whatever, then check the box at 'Append number to each photo.
Now, in the Album all your photos are named... Graduation 001, 002, 003 etc
Next Export them:
File -> Export, and in the Name option, choose 'Title as Filename' and complete the export.

Zen Sleek Photo: support for Album A

As the title already says: will there be support for Album Art for the Zen Sleek Photo in future firmware versions?

Yes I also ask the same question. I ordered mine earlier this week and thought the sleek would support album art. I actually downloaded MediaMonkey and took about 6+ hours going thru and organizing everything and making sure every album had an album cover. Please Creative just fix this one setback and it would be an even sweeter player then it already is! I couldn't afford to get a ZVM but the Sleek Photo was the next best thing. Please we're not asking much just help us out. There are people out here that still use your earlier players and are being left in the dust...don't leave us there when we know that you can fix it or provide us a way to fix it. Thanks!
