Fixed Popping/Crackling on X-Fi Titanium Fatality Pro

For those having problems and tried all the IRQ fixes+ unofficial drivers but failed..
You might want to use this DPC latency tool
http://www.thesycon.de/deu/latency_check.shtml
You can read how to use it from the website.
Anyways, I isolated my problem down to my gigabyte motherboard EasyTune software [used it for fan control]. Audio is working fine now.

Re: Fixed Popping/Crackling on X-Fi Titanium Fatality Pro That spikes (they are rear but they do occur)?im geting is during playing World of Warcraft. So when all components are under (some) load. Doing this tests when you dont do anything seems kinda pointless And ye if you dont notice any issues you shouldnt worry about dpc spikes/latency anyway. This was more like and experiment, when i saw people complaining and i notice on nvidia forums that "dpc fixes just missed 96.75 drver release", so i went and check it out what the hell this actualy is. So also people that are runing nvidia cards and have sound issues, update to latest nvidia driver (97.x+) it might resolve your issues. Also as far as i know occesional spikes are to be expected, whats bad is, when you constant latency is high (over 500ms). This shows as unusual fps drops and/or sound crackling. I personaly suspect that lots of problems about this is actualy caused by something else and not creative driver/card. Known "bad" drivers are lots of times also network drivers, so people should keep updated those as well...

  • Hissing/Popping/Crackling/Cracking in iTunes 6.05 w/ Quicktime 7.1

I reformatted and installed Windows 2000 Server. I used to use Windows 2000 Professional, and iTunes worked fine. Now, installing the latest iTunes 6.05 with Quicktime 7.1, I get hissing/popping/crackling/cracking at semi-random intervals (as bizarre as it may sound, with one song it seems to always occur around 10 seconds into the piece if it is the first song I play with iTunes. In another song it tends to be within the first second, but it's not as consistently within that first second as the other is at 10 seconds. After the first crackle, I usually can listen for 2-5 minutes before another crackle occurs.) . I can play the MP3's fine in Quicktime 7.1, VLC, and Windows Media Player 6.4. I'm running a Creative Soundblaster Audigy sound card. I have muted all items in Volume Control excepting Wave and Master. I have experimented toggling with the Quicktime "Sound Out" section (as suggested in http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93610). I have done various combinations of "safe mode" checked/not checked, 44.1/48/96 kHz, 8/16/24 bit, and Stereo/Quadraphonic. Judging from Creative documentation, it ought be 24 bit/48 kHz, but no combinations worked. I've reverted to iTunes 4 with Quicktime 6? from my iPod CD. Creative EAX and "Sound Enhancer" in iTunes are both disabled, though I have experimented with turning them on and that hasn't helped either. I have used my 5 year old Audigy drivers as well as the latest Audigy drivers. I really don't know what to do.
It looks like the following threads concern the same topic
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=588534&tstart=15
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=588245&tstart=30
Both of which come to no resolution.
Just to be thorough, iTunes is installed on my system disk, a 120 gig Seagate hard drive, and my library is located on a RAID 1 array of Western Digital 120 gig hard drives. I have 640 mb of RAM and an Athlon XP 1700+ on an Abit KR7A-RAID.
Thanks in advance for any help.

I found new symptoms to my problem. It seems the cracking only occurs when there is hard drive activity on the hard drive where my music is located. When I move a large file to and from the hard drive, the cracking is non stop. This behavior makes sense when you recall that towards the beginning of every track there is cracking as I think this is when the data is being moved from the hard drive to the RAM.
I don't think this has to do with my music being on a Raid 1 array or the Raid controller since iTunes exhibits the same cracking when playing music off other disks, including those attached to the Raid controller and those not attached.

  • Change working mode on X-Fi Titanium Fatality cause system freeze

    Hi.
Using X-Fi Titanium Fatality soundcard and latest beta driver. But then I need change working mode (from Game to Audio Creation or Audio Creation to Game) it's cause system freeze. And only hard reset helps. No errors message or error logs in system.
This problem appear only if I played any games in Game mode and after want listen music in Audio mode. If don't play any games or listen music, you can change modes multiple times without problem.
I try clean Windows 7 installation and problem is still here.

  • Called CL support. No popping/crackling issue with XFI kno

yeah.. after a post by Catherina i decided to post this to make sure you guys see it. If CL closes/deletes this thread they simply acknowledge that they dont want you to know the truth.
i called CL support yesterday around 4ish, and i asked if they got an update on the crackling/popping issue. the reply was "there is no case with popping/crackling issue with XFI that is known". i called again so that i speak with someone else to see if it was the case that only off them was unaware of the situation and got same reply.
the guys attempted to give me the entire troubleshoot again.. i told him i already done all that for the past 5 months bla bla bla.. he offered an RMA with updated firmware... i told him i already got an RMA 2 months ago...
now WTF is going on? are they simply BSing us that they have acknowledged the issue?

    Z3RO-CooL,
I'm not sure what you hope to achieve by starting this thread and essentially calling us liars. Customer Support have to troubleshoot a problem if someone contacts them. They won't have any new info for you yet. Others may contact Support with similar symptoms but resolve them by doing some of the troubleshooting mentioned.
Everything I have told you here is true, we are investigating this and as soon as I have some information for you I will be posting it here.
I'm closing this thread, not to silence you or because I "don't want you to know the truth", but because this thread was only started to cause an argument and I don't see any constructi've discussion coming from this. Please use the other thread to discuss this particular topic (crackling).

  • S.T.A.L.K.E.R. / X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Pro Prob

Has anyone been able to play STALKER using Creative's new X-Fi Titanium Fatalty Pro?
Since installing that sound card I have not been able to get the game to work. It starts to load and then stops responding before it even has a chance to go full screen. The XR-3DA.exe process keeps running, using about half my CPU, but just doesn't do anything it just sits there.
**If I disable the sound card through device manager the game starts up and works fine.**
I've updated every driver on my machine, I've cleared the sound card drivers, reinstalled the card, reinstalled the game, disabled onboard sound.
Is there anyone out there who has experienced a similar problem or knows of a means of fixing it's I freakin love this game, and I want to play it with an EAX enabled sound card.
    Cheers!

Darn, I was hoping that was it. I have read that one of the Stalker patch programs attempts to replace?the ct_oal.dll file (which is a?creative driver file.)? You could try doing a repair install of the soundblaster drivers from the Titanium CD, while leaving the game installed and patched. After that you can test (feel free to test using different combinations of the?original two openal files with the two from your system32 directory.)? If you have already re-installed your sound card with STALKER installed and patched already then I wouldn't bother with this. For reference my ct_oal.dll is 6.0..34, which should be yours if it is installed off the Titanium CD. You could check this prior to doing the repair reinstallation to see if it is even an issue.
I also found this note regarding STALKER from [url="http://www.tweakguides.com/STALKER_6.html">tweakguides[/url]?(with yet another version of openal32.dll, which appears to be older (...0.)?You can try using that, if you want.
Unfortunately the download location of the 'more recent' versions of OpenAL doesn't work any longer. I sent you a PM with my email if you want me to email you the installer (taken from the Vista X-Fi CD, which is more recent than the Titanium OpenAL.)
Your card does work with other openAL or ALchemy games, right? If you don't have any handy to try, you could try running the Creative diagnostics; maybe there is something screwy with your hardware.
And I got this from the GSC support site, maybe it will help us locate the cause of the crash:
    2. Find your log file.
STALKER uses two places on your hard dri've to store information. The game and associated resources are in the STALKER installation directory, which by default is on the C: dri've in the \Program Files\THQ\S. T.A.L.K.E.R. - Shadow of Chernobyl\ directory.
The saved games and logs are on the C: dri've by default in the STALKER-SHOC subdirectory. In Vista this subdirectory is under \Users\Public\Documents\ while in XP this is found in \Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents\. You can also access this directory by entering %ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Documents\STALKER-SHOC in the Windows Explorer address bar.
The latest error log, called xray_<your_user_login>.log* is under STALKER-SHOC in the logs\ subdirectory, while the saved games are stored in savedgames\.
*<your_user_login> is usually your name, the one you see at the top of the menu when you click on the start button on the taskbar in XP. If your user name is Robert, for example, then you would find a file named xray_Robert.log.
At the end of that file is usually a section that starts with "FATAL ERROR" and has lines beginning with "[error]". Include those lines in your post to give us an idea of what is wrong. Sometimes there is only a single error line, but it might be enough.

  • Is My X-Fi Fatality Pro Blown?

I've had my X-Fi Fatality Pro for about a year and a half now and it has always worked fine apart from the driver/memory leak issues, but last night I got a faint buzzing in my right ear that won't go away.
I can hear the buzzing and it correlates with mouse movements/clicking and during bootup I can hear it making input noises as I press keys on the keyboard.
My attempts to fix it have included:
    Reinstalling drivers (with driver sweeper)
Removing the card from the system and getting any dust off
Testing different headphones and it still has the faint buzzing noise
FWIW, my microphone still sounds fine.
In my not so expert opinion, it seems like the green 3.5mm port is blown.
My question is does it sound like the card needs to be replaced? I don't really know of any way to test the PCIe slot on my motherboard without getting a new card.
    Any advice/suggestions appreciated! Thanks

I would first look in control panel/administrati've tools/Event Viewer and see if the system is giving any sort of error while it does this. And in the meantime, what is in your system, (motherboard/processor/graphics/any add on cards/is it 32 or 64 bit Vista,etc..)

  • Soundfont Static on X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Pro, Win7 x64

I have an X-Fi Titanium Fatalty Pro running on Win7 Ultimate x64, Asus P7P55D Pro motherboard, Nvidia 9600GT, 4 GB RAM, no DPC Latency issues, and when I load a largish soundfont, e.g. 25 MB in size, I get horrible static that sounds like a machine gun the first time a note is played. After playing the note once, it seems to work fine. This happens with most every note. For example, if I load a high quality steel string guitar soundfont, every key I hit on the Soundfont Bank Manager's keyboard suffers from the static the first time it's hit. Afterwards, it's fine. The same thing happens in other programs that use MIDI that I configure to use the "SB X-FI Synth"; they start off with terrible static, and they get better as they play more and more notes. Any idea how to fix this?

As a workaround, I found I could start taking advantage of my PC's ability to reliably enter and resume from sleep, a feature I've never used on a desktop PC. However, to get it to sleep automatically, I had to use "powercfg -requestsoverride" to override the X-Fi's continuous request to prevent the computer from idling to sleep. I've noticed my onboard audio driver enters a request only when playing something, deleting it when finished. The request is always there for the X-Fi. Anyway, this seems to preserve the MIDI state so that the sounds are not distorted when I resume. It's weird, because looking at disk I/O in Sysinternals Process Monitor, the driver loads the soundfont all at once, and playing notes incurs no I/O. Maybe it's dynamically decompressing the already-loaded data or otherwise massaging it when a note is first played, and large samples are causing it to distort?

  • P7800 7.1 speakers on X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Pro - Confirmation.

    Hi Everyone.
I just bought a X-Fi Titanium Fatalty Pro (It's better late than never, right? LOL), and I'd like to confirm with you guys what I researched.
I found around that X-Fi Titanium Fatalty Pro will recognize my oldie analog P7800, I only need to connect the speaker audio cable to the three Line-Out(green-Lineout6, black-Lineout3, orange-Lineout4) on the soundcard, and my 7.1 speakers will work fine.
Is this correct?. Can anyone confirm this please, or should I need to buy new rca cables for this?.
    Thanks for every input guys.

Same problem here as well i have everything set to 00% volume and never had this problem until windows 7 now i have no volume at all period enless i go 5% or higher with volume control and alot of things are too loud even at 5% and i wish i could just put it at -4%.
Worked fine on XP , It seems to be the x-fi cards are just a cluster fk when it comes to windows 7 i have had nothing but trouble with my card since i installed windows 7 and enless creative gets o nthe ball and fixes these issue i won't be buying anymore of there cards i have always stuck with creative thru the years but it seems ALOT of the threads on this forum are issue related to windows 7 and x-fi cards with issue dating back to oct 09 and still no fixes released or even a reply from creative team at all as to whats goin on. Everyone is just being left in the dark from what i been reading and getting no answers and i think for how much the cards cost especially when they were new and more expensi've people should be able to use there cards and not wait 6 mnths for a fix or even a fix at all for that matter.
I am just glad i only have a 4. system right now because reading the forums it seems anything?5. or higher?isn't working right either on windows 7 and hasn't been working right since last year and still no fix for it yet and alot of people are getting very angry they are stuck using 2. with there 6. sound systems.

  • Xi-fi fatality pro not installing on Win7

)Xi-fi fatality pro not installing on Win7 I'm done. 7 hours trying to install a **bleep**ing sound card. Ridiculous. Before any one suggests, I've tried the Pax drivers, the KX drivers, some beta drivers, swapping slots, uninstall, clean drivers, safemode, killing a chicken - Nothing. Creatives crap drivers will not detect their own card, even though Everest has no problem telling me what card I have. HD Audio device is what I get. And even then I have no sound and the orange connecter seems to be a S/PDIF jack.
Creatives own PID hotfix will not even detect it(how lame is that). No matter what I try, and I've tried everything on these forums (and elsewhere) short of a format and re-install - and I'm not doing that for a ****ed sound card.
This is not a plea for help. I've availled myself of all the help here and elsewhere (at least the search function works). Thanks to everyone who's helped others and as a result tried to help me as well. But creative's garbage will not work on my system.
I remember my old Audigy 2 was a pain in the ass, I should have my head examined for even considering Creative again.
Oh well. I hear ASUS is good. I'm just sorry I wasted my time with this piece of crap.

-sorry to hear about your problems, I had the same thing happen to me in the past, in my situation the problem was fixed by removing the card from the system and cleaning/polishing the contacts on the bottom of the card with the eraser you find on the back end of a normal pencil...
best of luck with whatever you choose... creative is F'n many of us using Win7....

  • XFI Fatality Pro Counsoul Launcher Crash

I downloaded the newest drivers and the newest counsoul launcher, For some reason when I go to the equalizer it always stays on custome then once I try and click out of it the whole thing crashes.
I installed the new drivers first then the new launcher. I did a complete wipe of the old stuff both in leftover folders and files and in the reg.

, I got the same problem with my Creative X-Fi Titanium Fatalty Pro Series. I did the same as zippz (I installed the new drivers first then the new launcher. I did a complete wipe of the old stuff both in leftover folders and files and in the reg)
I am using Windows XP Pro 32bit. The crash was caused by the following:
    AppName: consolcu.exe
    AppVer:2.6.5.0
    ModName: modegmu.dll
    ModVer:2.60.26.0
    Offset: 0002ca64
How can we fix this issue?

  • Poll: Who is having no sound issues with X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Pro?

Several weeks ago I purchased an? X-Fi Titanium Fatalty Pro. I have the latest drivers/software installed for all of my hardware and am using Windows 7 64-bit ultimate. There is no sound when the computer resumes from Standby or hibernate. I have to disable the driver in the device manager and then re-enable to restore sound. It seems the X-fi driver is not initializing when the computer resumes from these states. Problem does not occur during a normal cold start or restart.
i have an open ticket with creative support and need to find out if others are having the same issue on windows 7. Several folks having the same issue at this link with little to no success at fixing. I don't know if this is a driver thing, an IRC conflict or what. I have no had this issue on the same hardware with any other sound cards I've I had, to include an HT Omega card and the onboard sound; which leaves me convinced it is something with the X-fi card.
Please respond to this posting if you are having the same issue. If you have found a way to fix it, please say so as the creative support folks are still investigating and have asked me to give them more examples.

Just to confirm that deselecting entries in the "headphone detection" tab the creative audio panel seems to provide a temporary (but not an acceptable permanent) solution.
"Automatically mute speakers" provides the workaround but "automatically enable headphone settings" also needs to be deselected otherwise the PC will set to "headphone" on resume (rather than "5:" for example).
So it could be that on resuming from standby it is setting some internal headphone settings to mute the speakers.
I have created a support ticket hoping that this and the other post above might bring about a driver update.
Will keep testing and post any updates.

  • Can I repair my X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Pro

Hello to everybody. I have a X-Fi Titanium Fatalty Pro which doesn't let out any sound. I tried different types of speakers, drivers and everything which came to my mind but nothing worked out. I decided to get some help and sent my card to a computer shop wihch agreed to look whats wrong with my card. They said that there is a hardware problem with it which they can't fix. I didn't quite understand them but I think that some chip got fried or something like that I don't know to be honest. The problem is that I don't have a warranty for my sound card and I don't know what to do with it. Should I just throw it out or can I get it repaired somehow?

I am using Windows 7 64bit. I tried that kind of things a lot but nothing worked.
I discard the soundblaster, delete all the drivers, put it back in, let windows 7 install drivers and still nothing.
Tried it on different PC's, different types of WIndows 7. Pf nothing. Tried to turn off my integrated soundcard but still no luck. Any idea is welcome. It's a really big shame that I have to throw such an expensi've card but I guess that I have no other choice.
I saw that Creative offers support for their products after their waranty expires but no matter what happens they want 30 euro which is way too much and I don't feel like risking my money for nothing.
