Fixed quantity in BOM during Backflush

Hello,
An assembly has a component in its BOM & this component has fixed quantity indicator set in BOM.
When i execute MFBF for assembly, system do not post GI for  the component (fixed quantity indicator set in BOM).
Please explain.
Thanks in advance
Keith

Keith,
This is standard behaviour in SAP.
The explaination given by SAP is that for a planned order you can perform multiple times of backflush, so it may not make sense to bring up this component for posting the fixed quantity every time.
So you need to follow a simple procedure to post Setup activity cost and Fixed quantity components. In the intial screen of MFBF transaction you would find a button "Details"(or press F5 button) click on this button "Details" pop-up screen would appear here you need to activate the check box for field "Post ordering Costs" and press enter key or green tick mark, you would be back in the Intial screen of MFBF now if you go to post with correction function you can find the fixed quantiy component also in the list.
Hope this helps and also clarifies your doubt,

    Hi,
    Plz suggest me,
we are having conductor div.n we req Drum to wind a wire coductor these drums having size of std lagging for dispatch but length is varied in coductor for winding.when i wan to fixed the quntity of lagging for perticular drum i used key fixed quntiy but at time conversion from pln order to prod order, system takes only fixed quantity for 10 drums also e.g.1 drum =65 lags & for 10 drum=65 lags after fixed key used.
But my reqmt is that when i will make prod order at that time the system varies the lagging nos. with propertion to lenth of conductor & that shuld not happen lagging nos. shoul be fixed. So plz tell me the procedure for this thing

    jagdish

    Hi jagdish
Fixed quantity in BOM means. Always it will create proposal for that particulare quantity only irrespective of the order quantity
For ex if you say for MAT A in BOM the quantity is 1 No and if you tick fixed quantity indicator. The system will always create proposal for 1 No irrespective of the BOM header quantity.
This will be useful to create fixed quantity for a order for inspection or other purpose.
If you want MRP to be exploded as per the BOM header quantity. Use alternate unit of purchase.
    Hope this is clear

  • Direct Production - Fixed quantity in BOM

    Dear PP Gurus,
Need your expert on this question, we have a direct production in a Pharma process. The scenario is that we have a fixed loss quantity in the mixing which we setup in the filling BOM.
With the direct production, each requirement is pegged to a planned order. There will be two planned order.
So, one planned order is the actual requirement order and the other is the for the fixed quantity for mixing process.
Is it possible to consolidate the two planned order quantity in one process order and the additional planned order, can it be delete automatically by MRP run or some method?
    Appreciate for any feedback
    Thanks & Regards
    Pooja.

    Dear Girish,
In the Mixing material wiht a master data with a special procurement key = 52 (Direct Production) in te material master and select the collective order. = 2 in the MRP 4
In Mixing, there is a fixed loss of the certain quantity wen the solution passto te next Filling process. In the Filling process, BOM, there a fixed quantity indicate.
So, usng the Direct Production, the mixing material will be proposed two planned order with different segment.
    The other remain te same.
By consolidating the fixed quantity and order quantity in one process order, but the fixed quantity planned order is not going to deleted when you run MRP.
So, the question is there a way to handle this requiremen with the order and fixed quatity, can be consolidate and the additional planned order to be deleted (or manual deletion )
    Appreciate yur assitance

  • MFBF can exclude bom component during backflushing ?

    Dears.
When i confirm repetitive production using MFBF the system consider all the components of the bom.
One component of this bom have field backflush in mrp2 view of mateial master setted to blank.
I need that MFBF exclude this component during backflushing.
But MFBF consider all the components despite backflush field in material master.
Do you have a solution in order to exclude this bom component during backflushing ?
Pay attention that i need to plan this bom component , so production relevant flag in bom is filled.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
In standard SAP, it is not possible to automatic exclusion of BOM component during backflusing in MFBF.
As suggested by expert Caetano you need to do enhancement using the said BADI.
Also in REM profile if you remove indicator "Error correction for Backflush" and remove the material from storage location level then your requirement may fulfill. Test and confirm the same.

  • Component Qty Split during Backflush

    Dear Gurus,
We have a problem with the quantity splitting during backflush.
Ex.  Prod Order for FG requires PM 500pcs as per BOM.  Current SAP stock is 400pcs only.  During backflush (production confirmation CO15), there is a deficit error due to insufficient stock (500 > 400).   COGI registers 500pcs.
How can we setup the system that during backflush, 400pcs is successfully consumed while leaving a COGI of 100pcs only (instead of 500pcs)?
    Thanks for your help.

    Hi,
You can  split the qty while doing confirmation  thru Edit> splitting function( CtrlshiftF4) into different qty as per your requirement in to 400 and 100 and consume 400 from stock and COGI for 100 pcs
    Check at your end

  • Options on BOM component backflushing (Repetitive Manufacturing)

We are in the process of implementing Repetitive Manufacturing and we would like some insight regarding BOM
    component backflushing.
    Our requirements:
    1) In a scenario with insufficient unrestricted component stock the entire transaction should be stopped, including the
Goods Receipt of the assembly. We do not want backlogs generated and we do not want a correction dialog box. We
only want the GI of component stock to happen for exactly the exploded BOM quantity or not at all.
    2) No opportunity should be given for the end user to modify the GI quantity of the BOM components even if there are
    errors.
Unfortunately I have not found a combination of configuration settings in the repetitive manufacturing profile that can
completely satisfy those requirements. Several settings have come close or give us other means of controlling the
process but none have been a perfect fit. We've also looked into setting the stock deficit message (M7021) to "E" but
we are worried about compromising other processes with that approach.
Can you please let us know what, if anything, we are overlooking and what options are available to us to meet these
    requirements?

    Dear Prasad,
1.Check in the REM profile whether the check box for error correction in dialog mode is mandatory.
2.Check for this authorization object, under the main object C_BACKFL,check for this object BF_POST ,check whether the tick mark
is for all these values.1 Post without correction
    2 Display BOM/routing
    3 Change BOM/routing
Better not include the tick mark for option 3 and i hope this will solve your problem,
    Check and revert

  • Base Quantity in BOM

    Hi all,
I needed to change the base quantity in BOM for one of the materials, but I found out that after changing, the component quantity in BOM did not change accordingly.
Is there any way to update the component quantity according to the ratio?
    Thanks all

    Hi there,
    Thanks for your prompt reply.
I'll better be specific with my question with an example:
I have this material, AA-XXXX that was in the following BOM settings:
    Base quantity: 1000 pcs
    Components:
    BB-YYYY - 23.6kg
    CC-YYYY - 10.2kg
    DD-YYYY - 234 pcs
We're required to change the base quantity in bom header. After I changed it to 2000 pcs, I noticed that the qty for components remain unchanged in BOM. I know during creating production order, the qty for those components will be calculated/changed accordingly. But what happened now that the components shown in BOM did not change according to the change of base quantity?
    Thanks

  • Materials planning for Recursive BOM during  MRP run

    SAP Guru's,
We developed an recursive BOM as per production  requirments , but we didn't know the impact of this recursive BOM during MRP run.
Pls help us how to recursive bom behaves during MRP.
    Thanks & Regards

    Hi,
This message was sent to us by SAP when we were having the same kind of requirement. Hope it will help you too.
    Usage Probability
Material requirements planning (MRP) plans the alternative items according to usage probability.
If you use the usage probability to determine the withdrawal posting (strategy 1), the quantities are proposed according to the usage probability. You can change the proposed quantities.
An alternative item is only planned if the usage probability is at least 1%.
If the usage probability is 0%, a dependent requirement with quantity
0 is generated for the material.
The component with the quantity 0 is displayed in the planned order.
If required you can increase the quantity there.
It is possible to plan too much for alternative items, because you can enter usage probabilities that add up to more than 100%.
    Hope it will help you.

  • Negative quantity in BOM

    Hi Experts,
I wanted to know is negative quantity allowed for BOM components? Is yes, why?
    Thanks,
    Gulshan

    hi,
The following example is able to understood usage of negative quantity in bom material list.
    example:
If you look at a petro chemical refining industry their main input material will be "Crude oil" during refining they get "Petrol", "Diesel", "Kerosene", "Naptha" & "Water" etc...
So the whole of the production cost should not go to "Petrol" alone, as Diesel, Kerosene and "Naptha" are also sellable. Water is not sold out, but is being used internal for the operation.
In this scenario "Petrol". "Diesel", "Kerosene" and "Naptha" are defined as co-products in the material master. And the cost which needs to be distributed among them are in the ratio 30:30:20:20, so in the joint production details we select the apportionment structure, and here we define the equivalence number by entering the materials and numbers as required by us as 30:30:20:20.
Now BOM is defined for the main product "Petrol" and Diesel", "Kerosene", "Naptha" and Water are defined in -ve quantity. Here the definition of water goes as "BiProduct". Crude oil is defined as component in +ve quantity. Now during order costing/product costing/settlement considers the entire cost of production based on the crude oil cost and infrastructure cost and it splits into the ratio defined in the equivalence number.

  • Fixed quantity not supported for alternative items

    Hi dears,
I was trying to configure in a Bill of Material a group of components marked together as "Alternative item", having the Fixed quantity indicator set (so the quantity is not in proportioned with the order quantity).
However, when I do this action I have the error message no. 29485 "Fixed quantity not supported for alternative items", because a fixed quantity is not allowed for alternative items.
Leaving out the fact that I don't understand for which kind of logic this should be done, do you know if there is any solution to achive the same result (use alternative item and each of them should be with fixed quantity despite th eorder quantity)?

  • Decimal quantity in BOM

    Dear Gurus,
Need Urgent help. We want to use decimal quantity in BOM componenets. If base unit of measurement PC is used then system not allowing to use but if PCS is used then system allows to use decimal quantity. Please let us know other repurcussions of using decimal quantity in BOM. We are having following concerns while using PC
    1. Practically issuing material in decimal to production order is not possible.
    2. if system round off the quantity then there will be variance in planned cost & actual cost
What could be the effect in other modules if PCS is used.
    Regards,
    SAP CONS

In SAP R/3 all quantity fields use the domain MENG13 so even though your unit PC is not allowing any decimals it is still storing the values with 3 decimal places. If you do not mention any value in decimal rounding in transaction code CUNI (Table T006-ANDEC) it will take the rounding value as 0 decimal places. If you do not mention any value in Decimal places CUNI (T006-DECAN) it will display zero decimals. BUT internally it storing it as 1.000. In the BOM you will just see it as 1
So as per knowledge it should not affect anything. You  can go ahead and change the PC in CUNI and set both values "Decimal places" and "Decimal pl. rounding" to 3.
Refer to this note to get more understanding

    Hi ,
Change document tables means CDHDR and CDPOS you need to check if the history of the field you are looking for is activated with change logs then you can find the old values  ...also can you please check why do you want the value as for transaction data it is current value which matters not the history ...
Pleas explain the field and where it comes in transaction so that we  can provide you exact way to get the history ..Also remember it must not be a calculated field to get from the table ...

  • Entering sales quantity into PA during GL posting

    Hello,
We would like to be able to post into the value field of sales quantity (profitability segment) during a manual FI posting - F-02.  We currently have a characteristic group set up and that is working fine for characteristics.  I set up a value field group for sales quantity using KEVFG and assigned it to record type "B" in KEVG3.  I've added sales quantity to our PA transfer structure "FI" with transaction KEI2.  I still cannot see sales quantity as an option for entry in my F-02 GL entry screen.  What am I missing?
    Any advice would be appreciated!
    Regards,
    Lori

Thank you for your quick response.
I do not see the quantity value field on the profitability segment screen of the F-02 GL posting transaction.  All I have on that screen are my characteristics that have been set up with my characteristic group.  Can I have a value field group show up on the profitability segment screen as well?  I have the value field group created and assigned to record type "B".  I'm obviously still missing something.
