Fixed quantity in BOM item

Hi,
Plz suggest me,
we are having conductor div.n we req Drum to wind a wire coductor these drums having size of std lagging for dispatch but length is varied in coductor for winding.when i wan to fixed the quntity of lagging for perticular drum i used key fixed quntiy but at time conversion from pln order to prod order, system takes only fixed quantity for 10 drums also e.g.1 drum =65 lags & for 10 drum=65 lags after fixed key used.
But my reqmt is that when i will make prod order at that time the system varies the lagging nos. with propertion to lenth of conductor & that shuld not happen lagging nos. shoul be fixed.So plz tell me the procedure for this thing

Fixed quantity in BOM means. Always it will create proposal for that particulare quantity only irrespective of the order quantity
For ex if you say for MAT A in BOM the quantity is 1 No and if you tick fixed quantity indicator. The system will always create proposal for 1 No irrespective of the BOM header quantity.
This will be useful to create fixed quantity for a order for inspection or other purpose.
If you want MRP to be exploded as per the BOM header quantity. Use alternate unit of purchase.

An assembly has a component in its BOM & this component has fixed quantity indicator set in BOM.
When i execute MFBF for assembly, system do not post GI for the component (fixed quantity indicator set in BOM).

This is standard behaviour in SAP.
The explaination given by SAP is that for a planned order you can perform multiple times of backflush, so it may not make sense to bring up this component for posting the fixed quantity every time.
So you need to follow a simple procedure to post Setup activity cost and Fixed quantity components. In the intial screen of MFBF transaction you would find a button "Details"(or press F5 button) click on this button "Details" pop-up screen would appear here you need to activate the check box for field "Post ordering Costs" and press enter key or green tick mark, you would be back in the Intial screen of MFBF now if you go to post with correction function you can find the fixed quantiy component also in the list.

Direct Production - Fixed quantity in BOM

Dear PP Gurus,
Need your expert on this question, we have a direct production in a Pharma process. The scenario is that we have a fixed loss quantity in the mixing which we setup in the filling BOM.
With the direct production, each requirement is pegged to a planned order. There will be two planned order.
So, one planned order is the actual requirement order and the other is the for the fixed quantity for mixing process.
Is it possible to consolidate the two planned order quantity in one process order and the additional planned order,can it be delete automatically by MRP run or some method?

In the Mixing material wiht a master data with a special procurement key = 52 (Direct Production) in te material master and select the collective order. = 2 in the MRP 4
In Mixing, there is a fixed loss of the certain quantity wen the solution passto te next Filling process. In the Filling process, BOM, there a fixed quantity indicate.
So, usng the Direct Production, the mixing material will be proposed two planned order with different segment.
The other remain te same.
By consolidating the fixed quantity and order quantity in one process order, but the fixed quantity planned order is not going to deleted when you run MRP.
So, the question is there a way to handle this requiremen with the order and fixed quatity, can be consolidate and the additional planned order to be deleted (or manual deletion )

Fixed BOM item

Hai Friends,
Query from process industries, My BOM has nearly 10 items. in those 7 materials are fixed quantities and remaining three items are varies from order to order.
So my client asked for those 7 items which are fixed shouldn't be allowed to change in process order and and remaining three should be allowed to change the quantities as per their requirement in process order.
For this, I have used to select the check box as fixed Quantity in the item details in BOM for a particular item, but there was no result in process order. is there any customization settings required for this. please give your valuable suggestion.

Hi Mourya,
Well you can do it through the BOM itself goto item level in BOM and there basic data tab you can find quantity field next to that you will see FIXED QUANTITY.
If you activated there there will be an icon in the main of BOM page go to extreme corner you will find it will be checked OK.
I hope this will fulfill your clients requirement. Again try run the MRP by creating the order then you can see the effect what it gives OK.

Sales BOM its possible edit the quantity for child items in Sales Order

Hello friends, this is my issue
I need to use a Sales BOM but the problem is that the child items in any Document marketing, such as Sales Order, the quantity for that child items it´s possible to edit independant of the father item code, and I don´t want this because allows to users to change diferent quantity for child items versus the quantity of the father item code.

Fixed quantity not supported for alternative items

Hi dears,
I was trying to configure in a Bill of Material a group of components marked together as "Alternative item", having the Fixed quantity indicator set (so the quantity is not in proportioned with the order quantity).
However, when I do this action I have the error message no. 29485 "Fixed quantity not supported for alternative items", because a fixed quantity is not allowed for alternative items.
Leaving out the fact that I don't understand for which kind of logic this should be done, do you know if there is any solution to achive the same result (use alternative item and each of them should be with fixed quantity despite th eorder quantity)?

BOM Items Check for Partial order quantity

Hi
For weekly shopfloor planning I need to check the material availability for a partial quantity of the order.
For eg. I have a Production order for 2000pcs but I need to plan for a week only 500pcs. I want to check the BOM items availability for only 500pcs of BOM Header material. Need multiple material - quantity selection option also.
Is there any customized availability check in standard SAP?

Hi,
Please check for the indicator "confirm available partial quantity" at Production scheduling profile configuration.
In OPKP for the plant and production scheduling profile combination --> under material availability check tab --> select the option "confirm available partial quantity"
It Determines that all components are comitted with the same percentage rate during an availability check.
When you have set this indicator, if only a partial quantity can be committed for one component, then only partial quantities will be committed for all components during an availability check.
Example
Order quantity 100 PC:
Committed quantity
Requirement ATP quantity not set set
Component A 200 PC 300 PC 200 PC (100%) 80 PC (40%)
Component B 100 PC 40 PC 40 PC (40%) 40 PC (40%)
Component C 50 PC 200 PC 50 PC (100%) 20 PC (40%)
Since only 40% of component B can be committed, also only 40% of component A and C is committed when the indicator is set.
By setting the indicator, you can therefore ensure that orders are always only committed to the extent that they are also to be produced. In the example, 40% of the order can be produced for the requirements date. In addition, the quantities of component A and C that are not reserved can be assigned to other orders, which as a result may then also be produced.

But RC29P is structure, i am looking for table to get the data, is there any function module can return directly or do we have separate table, please let me know.

Hi Satya,
In a CO project, I used the function BAPI_COSTESTIMATE_GETEXPLOSION to read the BOM for the material, the MENGE is under fieldname QUANTITY on table explosion_list.
And, also used another two BAPI's which gather more detailed information BAPI_COSTESTIMATE_ITEMIZATION and BAPI_COSTESTIMATE_GETDETAIL.

Variant Configuration - Manual changes to BOM Items

Hi All:
We are implementing Sales ORder (SET) process. Need to have the ability to change BOM Items.
According to SAP documentation referred in the link below, we have set the flag to allow the manual changes to BOM Items in the configuration profile. We have made sure that in the Material BOM configuration the fixed quantity flag is not set.
But it is not working. Not sure if we are missing some other settings.

Bom item quanity quanity

I have following requirement for MTO scenario
There is a component A in the BOM with quantity 8 pcs.
Because we have quantity 3 in SO item, we get the purch.req. for 3x8 = 24 pcs, but in real life we need only 8 pcs (Requirement for one So item quantity).

IN the BOM component , In The item data of A, Check the fixed quantity.
and Rerun a MRP with delete and recreate the planning data.
and also check in CS13, by giving requirement quantity 3 and explode BOM after checked the fixed qty in BOM component

Delivery of Sales BOM Item

Hi All,
We are creating automatic delivery from Sales Order.Items in sales order is Sales BOM.quantity is calulated based on sales factors of item.,but when we change the quantity on sales order ,SAP automatically sets the factor values to 1.
we are getting factors from item master on delivery document,but it is updatinng the quantity of parent item only i.e not updating the child item quantity.
suppose parent item quantity i set to 5 it still show child item quantity as 1 on delivery.
how to do this,

Problem in Partial delivery BOM - items not copied in subsequent delivery

Hi,
We are using BOM in Sales order and we have activated delivery group for the BOM header item category.
When we create first delivery we change the BOM header item quantity in delivey ( all the components quantity change accordingly) and save the delivery.
Now when we try to create second delivery with reference to the same delivery for the left out qunatity in sales order, system is not copying the components of BOM items ( it is only copying BOM header) from sales order to delivery.
Please let us know how can we create subsequent delivery with reference to the same sales order and delivery should get all the BOM items from SO to delivery.

Hi,
We already set the delivery group to A, and still having the same result. We change the BOM header quantity only and automatically the component quantity is updated.
This happens only if there are two header BOM in the Sales Order. See example below:
Bom Header 1 = 100
Bom Component 1a - 80 (partial delivered)
Bom Component 1b - 20 (partial delivered)
Bom Header 2 = 200
Bom Component 2a - 150
Bom Component 2b - 50
When creating outbound delivery, initially all the materials are copied to the outbound document. If we want to delivery only Bom Header 2, then we will delete the Bom Header 1 line item.
Upon deletion, the status of the component becomes fully delivered in the SO, but the Bom header is still partial delivered.
Please confirm how to correct this.
**If there is only one BOM Item in the order, then partial delivery is ok..
