Fixed Scrap

Dear All,
We are manufacturing bolts. In every production order we create there is a loss of exactly 5 bolts, where do I define this fixed scrap quantity (not percentage)

As you said the quantity is fixed for every order i.e. 5 pcs each & not the percentage then better you maintain the same in the order itself, in the scrap field.
Because that is the output of the different percentage you maintain in material master or in BOM.
There is no other alternative I can thought to tackel the problem.

Fixed Scrap Quantity In Production

Im using SAP ECC 6.0 now.
Is there any place I can set a fixed scrap quantity in BOM or PP related?
The situation is like this: While producing Semi-finishegoods A we alway need extra 10 Raw-mateiral B for scrap.
That means 100 A needs 110 B ; 10 A needs 20 B;
How can I configure it so that when I create the procution Order for 10 A, it will put 20 B in the components automatically;
I can only find scrap ratio in percentage.

As you rightly mentioned , to my knowledge, as of now in standard SAP
All the SCRAPS are maintained in % only.
1) Component Scrap >>>>> Maintained in MRP4 in % & also in BOM General data tab
2) Assembly Scrap >>>>>> Maintained in MRP1 in %
3) Operation Scrap >>>>>>Maintained in BOM item detail General Tab in %

Fixed Scrap quantity

Hi Experts,
We have "Fixed Scrap Quantity" field group in the opeartion details of routing in SAP Mill Products.
Can any body please explain the siginificance of Each Length, First Length and Last Length.

How can I set a fixed scrap qty on planned orders created by MRP?

During production of some specific subassemblies, destructive testing is done that requires us to scrap two pieces per production order. I know I can set an assembly scrap percent, but what I need instead is a way to set a fixed assembly scrap quantity that will get loaded onto every planned order created by MRP for these subassemblies. If we can't do this, we can't plan the correct order quantity and eventually end up being short of parts. I know we can set a safety stock or safety time, but I'd rather just plan the right quantities if possible.
Is there a user exit, configuration option, or master data setting that will allow me to do this?

This can be solved by one solution. _You can try this._
You define the same item in BOM again with qty 2 nos. Double click on the item no. Then it will take you to item detail. There in Basic data tab page at quantity data ( Tick the fixed quantity. ).
When ever BOM explodes for the header material automatically The item will be exploded 2 nos extra.
Ex
The header is Mat X and items is Mat Y. While creating BOM for X give item Mat Y in item no 10. give the quantity as per the requirement.
And again give item Mat Y in items no 20. give quantity 2 nos and activate the fixed quantity tick as instructed above.
When ever requirement for Mat X is 100 nos. The plan order for Y will be 102 nos .

Fixed Lot Size and Assemby Scrap

Hi Gurus,
I've an issue using a Material with Fixed Lot Size (MRP View) and Assembly Scrap.
The system doesn't increase the base quantiy (creating a Process Order) with the Assembly Scrap defined in the Material Master, if you change manually the quantity in the COR2 quantiy will be recalculated correctly.
Anybody can help me?

dear marco,
One changes in my earlier post
IF fixed lot size is 1000, and assemby scrap as 10 %
if the pir is for 900
after running MRP system will create a plan order for 1000
In MD04 , you can see the receipt reqmt as 900 and scrap as 100
i.e System will allocate the scrap with in the fixed lot size
Once the plan order is converted in to process order you can see
the total qty as 1000 and scrap 100
for other lot size system will add the PIR reqmt +assembly scrap %,
Yes you can change the qty in COr2, system will update as per the scrap qty , i.e system will allocate the qty for scrap
for ex , if you are changing the total qty as 10000, system will propose 1000 as scrap,
when you save the order and see the mD04
you can see the receipt/ reqmt qty as 9000 and scrap as 1000
i.e system will allocate the 1000 qty from total qty
Hope you are clear how the fixed lot size is working for assembly scrap

Set scrap value as a fixed amount

Hi buddy
I want to set scrap value as a fixed amount, but I do not want to use memo value to solve that.
Do you have any other good methods to solve that?
Pls give me your advice.

Hi Benson,
You can make a substitution for the master data creation with TC OACS.
With something like
If
Asset class = '2000' AND ( Transaction code = 'AS01' OR
Transaction code = 'AS11' ) AND Deprec. area = '01'
then
ANLB SCHRW Scrap value = 1
When you do this only for AS01 and AS11 you can still change the values with AS02.

Home sharing sooooo unreliable to be unusable - will it ever be fixed?

I bought an Apple-TV-3 six months ago and decided to migrate ALL my video media to apple m4v format to use via home sharing. To this end I spent a few months developing a PC app ConvertApple to automatically re-encode/remux and tag (using moviedv/tvdb) with full metadata all my videos with no user interaction needed. It's an awesome app if I say it myself, as all other similar programs require you to waste endless amounts of your own time, whereas this program works it all out automatically. I had planned to release it a month ago but owing to home-sharing's unreliability can no longer justify doing so. I had also bought a second apple-tv, but unfortunately between the latest ATV updates and itunes, home sharing has become sooo unreliable that it is no longer usable. I sat down tonight with my family to watch a film but the circle of death when trying to play a movie returned. How embarrasing. I flicked to my windows MCE box I had hoped to replace by ATV and watched it from there.
As a developer with 30 years experience, there's little I cannot get a computer to do, but I can categorically say that although home sharing works sometimes, it is sooo flakey that it is just not a viable 24/7 solution for the home. It may work for a day or two but soon the circle of death appears and you cannot play anything, Restarting itunes, usually brings it back up, but not always. It is connected to an always-on PC, with neither apple TV's set to sleep, both on static IP's and STILL the problem persists. I also run a Upnp server TVersity on the same box, that works flawlessly, but alas until a jailbreak for ATV3 comes out allowing me to run a proper upnp client I may as well bin the Apple-tv's that have wasted months of my time on a fools errand.
I am bitterly disappointed as the only reason I went down the Apple route in the first place as I trusted their reliablility and am shocked at just how appauling their home-sharing system has become. I am planning to sell the ATV's on ebay soon and purchase Google-tv's instead and I guess rename my app ConvertGoogle! The ATV+homesharing system seemed rock solid back in April but is now unusable. I've read 100's of posts from other users alluding to this issue and get the impression apple are in denial with no plans to fix it so if you're thinking of buying an Apple-TV DON'T!
Anyone who "think's" they have a working home-sharing system, wait a few days! I doubt an uptime of > 3 days can be achived. I also fail to understand why it is sooooo slow connecting, especially from iphones. My upnp clients connect instantly + most modern TV's have upnp built in. iTunes homesharing is clearly a very badly written proprietary system and should be junked and replaced with a standard upnp client (and server), then at least apple-tv's would be usable. As a primarly msoft developer since the 80's I always (jokingly) slated Apple, but bought into them with iPhone4 and now own 2 iphones, 1 ipad and 2 atv's, but I am now considering migrating to Google kit due to Apple's unreliability. I will never buy another Apple product as I just don't trust them to be reliable anymore. STuff works but only when it feels like it. I cannot live with hardware like that!

My current status is having restarted iTunes, I can browse my library from ATV, but as soon as I click play it just sits there circling-of-death indefinately - pathetic!
Scrap Home-Sharing it's total garbage technology and implement a standard uPnp server in itunes or at LEAST add a upnp client for ATV3 we can use eg AirPlayer = works solidly on my ipad/iphone etc. Whatever happened to the ATV SDK being opened up mooted months ago?
I'll get a google-tv of Amazon this w/end and see how I fare with that. I'd live to have used ATV3's but they DO NOT work, so I can't. Oh and why on IOS6 on iphone does the remote app just close itself every now and then?
Apple need to fix things for their existing customers, rather than focus on new features to attract new ones, or they will end up having no customers five years from now!

Fixed asset error: 21151: error while posting asset document: '100000039'

Hello Experts,
How are you? We have a client who have encountered an error during fixed asset retirement thru scrappingu2026.In one retirement document, SAP did not assign an account in the account column but still the document was saved but with erroru2026On her next retirement document, she could no longer save her document and the error points to the last retirement document she has saved with error. We have tried to cancel the document and its journal entry but still she could no longer retire assets using scrapping. All other retirement transaction using scrapping could not be saved.
The client is using SAP B1 8.81 patch 5.

How to create crystal report for fixed assets

I am beginner to SAP B1. I have to create crystal report on fixed assets. for the following fields I have to get data.

Cost of Fixed asset,
Disposal of fixed asset
Scrap of fixed asset
Additional cost on fixed asset
Fixed asset cost after additional cost
Rate of fixed asset –Depreciation item cost - Percentage
Depreciation of fixed asset on item cost

Rate of fixed asset-Depreciation on write-up cost --percentage
Depreciation of fixed asset on write -up cost
Net Book value of fixed asset.

Actually they are not going to standard reports as Revaluation amount we are creating User defined fields and that needs to be fetched to the report. As well they want original cost, depreciation original cost, Revaluation amount and depreciation on revaluation separately..
As per my understand system will provide one cost and the depreciation on that.
So, can somebody help me in guiding me..

Transfer of a fixed asset to a WBS

Hello Everybody ,
I need your help.
A new scenario has come over here and i am not getting how to implement it in
SAP .
Scenario is :
1. We have a fixed asset at cost center .
2. Now the asset is need to be replaced .
3. We settled new asset at that cost center .
4. Old asset needs to be used in a project.
Problem is :
Client is required that old asset that was replaced, should be transferred to a new project or WBS where the asset final cost
(including depreciation) should consume the budget from the WBS .
Example:
Asset cost along with depreciation is say Rs 50000.
We transferred an Asset to a new WBS where budget is defined 80000.
So as asset gets transferred , remaining WBS budget value should be 80000 - 50000 = 30000 means old asset value should get expensed by WBS .
Then later on we can settle the asset along with the AUC of WBS.
Conclusion:
We need to transfer an fixed asset that is not in anymore used in that defined cost center and need to be replaced and after replacement it should get transferred to a WBS where WBS budget value would be reduced equal to asset value along with depreciation and later on we could transfer it to a cost center where asset is required.

Scenario is :
We dont have to make asset as an scrap.
Ex:
We have to take the same asset to another WBS without making scrap and the current asset value should be expensed from the defined WBS budget .
How the asset at cost centre would be transferred to WBS and should be capitalised again at new WBS .
Kindly share the procedure .

Asset Scrapping

I have an issue in asset scrapping thru tcode ABAVN version ECC6.0 in QA client- when I scrapped the asset system generated the accounting document
with following entries
APC:1,000
Asset is acquired in April,2010,
CR(75 posting key).-APC value account(cost of asset) $1000
DR.(40 posting key)-Loss from scrap asset                   $1000
We are using half year convention so first year depreciation value is $50.As per our fixed asset guy who is usin legacy system FAS,( we are in process of migrating our FA in sap), the entries should be
CR(75 posting key).-APC value account(cost of asset) $1000
DR.(40 posting key)-Loss from scrap asset                    $950
DR(70 posting key)- Accum Dep a/c                                $50
But system created only 2 lines.Do I need to do something in config?The Account determination in AO90 the accounts are being derived correctly. I only need to know what will happen with depreciaiton.The asset is just acquired in april,2010. Do I need to do some other entry? I ran depreciation for period 5,2010 on that asset and system posted depreciation of $6.25 for period 5, we rae using Fiscal year from Nov-Dec, so april is our period 5.Please suggest.Thanks

Hi,
Take a look at the period control Tcode AFAMP of the depreciation key been used. If the retirmnet period control is set for start of year 06 normaly it will take the value available from start of year and reverse out the depreciation posted in next run.

Creative centrale continues to be rubbish, how hard is it to fix these bugs?

?I cant bloody believe that creative centrale is so hard to make just WORK.
Firstly when i delete one track off my playlist via centrale, 2-3 random tracks gets wiped off the list. Secondly the programs search feature is virtually useless. Thirdly the program randomly crashes/locks up.
Do NOT pester me with what version im using/is windows updated/did i pay my electrical bill and what the **bleep** ever.
All these bugs you are PERFECTLY aware of cause, and you should **bleep** well have the professional pride to just **bleep**ing fix it.
You have sold me a Ferrari (X-Fi2) among mp3 players, with a 978 Lada motor (centrale) under the bloody hood.
Oh, and post scriptum: The half second lag x-fi2 provides with any x-(fidelity) enabled is also a real killer. Great **bleep**ing work on the end too...and yes its running .22.03.

P?This user interface is the worst piece of garbage I've ever attempted to use. It is totally incomprehensible, especially after the previous interface that was so wonderfully intuiti've.
It can't find files on my hard dri've, I cannot for the life of me figure out how to transfer files OFF of the device onto the hard dri've (gee, who would ever want to do such an esoteric thing?) and trying to figure out how to "tag" files, use the genres, playlists and artists functions is like trying to do yoga on the moon without oxygen.
I have literally spent 0+ hours struggling with this piece of crap. I've got the latest version, I've formatted to start from scratch, everything.
Great job scrapping a great little user-friendly interface for this horrible crap. I will never, ever buy another Creative MP3 player again due only to your "creative centrale" debacle.

D key popped out (fixed now) and asterisk key not working

OK- Here is the score: I had a wee accident with the PB- the dog scrapped past the keyboard dislodging the D key which popped up (I thought it was broken- BOY was I upset! Fiddled for hours and found that the wee scissor was OK but popped out... It is OK now) and apparently stopping the asterisk key from working at all.
Looking that the keyboard there is no obvious problem (both affected keys are well reseated) but when you put your nail under the asterisk key and lift it lifts the foil below it slightly. On the other side the equivalent key (left arrow key) does NOT lift the foil at all.
I am wondering- anyone have experience with the keyboard and know how likely it is that this is something which can be fixed? Or is this, in your esteemed experience, something which requires repair or replacement?
Please advise.

Thanks for your answer. I ended up dismantling the keyboard and defluffing it and between tears of frustration managed to place them back in correct working order. None of the wee plastic pins had broken off... SO lucky!

Hope you got sorted as I do not phone Apple- last time I did I spent 1 hour and 40 minutes speaking to seven people in various countries who were ALL unable to help with the issue I had and who just kept fobbing me off to each other. Twice I landed with the the same person (that is 9 times I spoke with different persons).
Most folk would have given up by then but I am a bit of a bulldog on that score. All in all the MOST annoying experience.
And considering that I am in the service trade myself and would fire folk for less it was doubly annoying!
Conclusion? Want something doing? Do it yourself with the help of the wise and kind folk on here!

SBO 2005 PL1 : Fixed Assets

We are deploying SBO in Lebanon - For the Fixed Assets, they have one legal requirement which oblige them to force the Residual Value to one when it's totaly amortize until the equipment or material is not scrap out. How could we force the vaue to one ?

Start from 2005 SP1 PL75, there are some bahavior change for Salvage value feature.
1. Where are the new fields regarding salvage value?
    o Field name: Salvage Value %
       Location:    Depreciation Types form => General Tab
       Description: salvage value = APC * Salvage value %
    o Field name: Include Salvage Value in Depreciation
       Location:    Depreciation Types form => General Tab
       Description: Control whether to include Salvage Value in
depreciation calculation. Select this checkbox to exclude Salvage value in deprecication calculation.
    o Field name: Salvage Value
       Location:    Fixed Asset Master Data form => General Tab
       Description: salvage value of specific asset
2. How to configure salvage value for an asset?
salvage value = APC * Salvage Value Percentage of Depreciation Type
    o Salvage value is always updated automatically according to above formula if transtions trigger the change of APC.
    o Salvage value always takes effect for the whole fiscal year.
    o You can also modify salvage value manually in Fixed Asset Master Data form => General Tab. Change of salvage value will trigger the recalculation of depreciation.
3. How to calculate planned depreciation value based on salvage value?
    o Example I:
       APC: 10,000     Useful Life: 10 years     Salvage Value: 2,000
       Depreciation type: Straight-line depreciation
       Calclation Method: Acquisition Value / Total Useful Life
       Include Salvage Value in Depreciation: Not checked
       Yearly Depreciation Amount =
       (APC - Salvage Value) / Useful Life = (10000 - 2000) / 10 = 800
    o Example II:
       APC: 10,000     Useful Life: 10 years     Salvage Value: 2,000
       Depreciation type: Straight-line depreciation
       Calclation Method: Acquisition Value / Total Useful Life
       Include Salvage Value in Depreciation: Checked
       Yearly Depreciation Amount = APC / Useful Life
       = 10000 / 10 = 1000
4. Relevant rules with regard to salvage value:
    a) All depreciation areas of an asset use the same salvage value.
    b) Salvage Value field in Fixed Asset Master Data form => General Tab is editable if and only if Salvage Value Percentage of depreciation type of main depreciation area is not zero.
    c) In Depreciation Types form => General Tab, the setting of
       Depreciation Value Limit only takes effect when the Salvage Value % is zero.
    d) When you import a fixed asset master data, salvage value is retrieved automatically according to the depreciation type from the main depreciation area. Make sure that salvage value is not greater than NBV, otherwise an error message will come up in log file.
5. Depreciation Value Limit Vs. Salvage Value:
    a) Both are the amount at which the asset depreciation stops.
    b) Depreciation Value Limit only takes effect when Salvage Value % is zero.
    c) Depreciation Value Limit is not considered in planned       depreciation calclulation.
    d) Salvage value is considered in planned depreciation calclulation if Include Salvage Value in Depreciation of depreciation type is not checked.

BAPI for Asset scrapping

Hello,
I have implemented the BAPI BAPI_ASSET_RETIREMENT_POST for background scrapping. Everithin OK for an asset with a subnumber. The problem is that I have to scrap an asset with multiple subnumbers. initially, I was running the BAPI for each subnumber, but I realised that I am creating an FI document for each posting, which is not good.
Can I scrap multiple subnumbers with this BAPI?
