Fixed space with frame

My query is related to frames. Can it be taken as a thumb rule that whenever we put a frame with its vertical and horizontal elasticity as fixed which is the default, it will take that much of fixed space in the report. Please help me in this as it is very urgent.

Yes. If you have a fixed size frame it will take up that much space in the output.
However, if you have objects within the frame then the fixed size frame will repeat across multiple pages until the content within the frame completes formatting.

The movie had gotten to the point that I could watch it all the way through but it still said processing and got stuck at that point and when I turned off the wifi to try to restart it, it deleted its-self but did not free up any of the storage It was taking up

Some thing similar also happened to my old laptop when trying to download the iOS 5 update to my laptop when it came out. It kept getting disconnected and every time it would try to start over and act like what had already been downloaded was not there though it was still taking up the storage space.
And it continued repeating until it took up all of my storage space. The data file would not show up anywhere so I had to restore my laptop to the factory settings and that worked for awhile but I eventually had to get a new laptop.

Did you try to set it up as new device, as explained in this article?

Spacing with fixed space fonts

Using RoboHelp for Word 6, Build 099 for a large Help
project. We are converting from WinHelp to HTML Help. One topic
consists of a large block of text (lots of columns in a fixed space
font - Courier New) with popups annotating the text.
With WinHelp the vertical allignment is fine. When the HTML
Help is compiled, multiple spaces appear to be compressed to a
single space making the output unreadable.

If you give 8 space characters it would not work. Try '########' or any other character and then use replace statement to replace '#' with ' '. It will work.

My autofill button/option for filling available space with music is missing

Hey, all. I'm using the new iTunes 11. I back up to the cloud and I'm also using iMatch. At some point in the past I used the Autofill option to max out my storage space with music. Today I backed up my phone(a 4S) and restored it, then did a sync. Now I have no music and there is no autofill button at the bottom of the device screen. When I go to the Music tab, it says iMatch is on and songs can be downloaded and played via wifi. I tried shutting off iMatch, but that didn't seem to bring the option back to use Autofill. Any hints? Thanks.

I am in exactly the same boat with iPhoto. The historical music selection in the export/quicktime; inability to choose a song (vs. an album) although I've tried making a song album with just the one song I want. I've tried every suggestion other than converting my songs to MP3 and nothing works.
We should all sue Apple under UCC since the fitness for use clause is not met. Makes me really angry as it was fine in prior versions and now something that use to take a minutes has taken several hours with no solution in sight.
I am not upgrading to iPhoto 6. We're supposed to pay more on the hopes that maybe it'll be fixed? What a waste of money as the big feature in iPhoto was the make a reasonable sized QT movie to send some photos to friends. The computer isn't my life; I have no urge to spend hours reformatting songs, using iMovie, etc. I want to do the electronic equivalent of showing a stack of paper prints to a friend... you know, make my life easier, not harder

Using Line Stretch With Frame Property

Hi Folks,
I'm using Report Builder (Developer 2000 ver 6.0) and in one particular report, I would like to have vertical lines between displayed columns from the table.
When I use the Layout Model and draw lines between the columns and use the Line Stretch With Frame Property of that particular line and choose the relevent frame, the line stretches with the number of records ( as I have reduced the number of records to 8 per page) only on pages from 2 onwards. On the first page the line does not stretches. Why is that?
Similarly I would like to draw a line at the end of each record on each page, but when I draw the line in the Layout Model, it is always displayed in the middle of records instead of the last record.

It's a hardware fault. I suggest you make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store to have it tested. It's a free service. The repair won't be free, but if it's something simple, such as a bad memory module, you may be able to fix it yourself.

Using Flash with Frames?

header.html does not have any flash. Just has the home and
contact buttons for the top.
flash.html is just an html page that holds the flash
navigation.
mainFrame is where the new pages should display with index of

Automated fixed spaces in certain positions (Czech)

In Czech (and it might be similar in other lanugages too) it is not possible to end a line with a single-letter words (such as preposition: v, k, o etc.). Writing programmes (such as MS Word) usually solve this by automatically entering a fixed space after these single-letter words when writing in Czech. I was wondering whether there is a setting in Pages that allows you to make this automatic too?

Could you explain/enlarge, please?
If one inputs a single letter word, first, one presses the space bar which will input U+0020 SPACE before; second, one inputs the one character word; and, third, one presses the space bar which will input U+0020 SPACE.
If there is more than one character U+0020 SPACE after a single letter word, or if e.g. U+200A HAIR SPACE, U+2009 THIN SPACE, U+2008 PUNCTUATION SPACE, U+2007 FIGURE SPACE, U+SIX-PER-EM SPACE or other space characters, then there is a problem.
Other than a single word space at the orthographic level, spacing should be handled at the typographic level. If an authoring application achieves spacing by modifying character information instead of by modifying imageable composition, then it is a bug, no?

Here are the cases:
1. ' a b c d efg h' should be changed to 'a b c d e f g h'
2. ' a b c d e f g h ' should be changed to 'a b c d e f g h'
3. 'a b c d e f g h' should not be changed
4. 'abcdefgh' should not be changed
Both REPLACE and TRANSLATE do not help. I don't want to go for LOOP logic. Please help me to get it in SQL query.

You can use nested REPLACE calls to get the same results, but it's messy.

Spaces with Multiple Displays

I have been using Spaces with my MacBook with an external display, without mirroring to extend my desktop. Overall, it works really well and has certainly made things less hectic when I have 1-8 windows open per application and up to 5 applications.
One thing I figured out by playing is that you can have windows from the same application in different spaces. For example, I have FireFox open with three windows, and can position one FF window in each of three spaces. The only way to do this that I have found is to drag the individual windows from the Spaces view (F8), but it's really useful for me to have web-pages organized by Space (personal, work, Google, etc.). By the way, if I shut down FF or restart the machine, the windows do not "remember" which Space they were in, which is not surprising to me. I assume that is a limitation of FF, not OS X.
Now here is the issue/problem I have experienced several times: Every so often, I will completely "lose" one or more windows. For example, I have two FF windows open in Space 4, then upon switching to another space and going back to Space 4, the windows are gone. They still show up in the list of FF windows (from the "Windows" menu in FF itself), so I think they are still open, but it's like they were assigned to Space 0 or something. There is no way to get to them or bring them back that I have found. There is also no good explanation for why this is occurring or any reproducible set of circumstances.
I can accept that I am pushing the envelope on Spaces using both multiple displays and splitting windows from one application across Spaces, so I am not expecting this to work flawlessly (yet). However, it sure would be useful to be able to recover from this when it occurs.
By the way, as a tip I have mapped my mouse button 3 (external mouse with a scroll wheel that has a button) to show Spaces, which has been very handy for me.
One last thing: Does anyone else think it would be cool to have Spaces act more like true individual Desktops? In other words, be able to set background image per Space and maybe even have different files on each Space/Desktop? Files would be more involved since Spaces are less permanent than a real Desktop, but background images seems like an easy thing to be able to code for.

Just to be clear, you CAN run an application and split its windows across different Spaces by dragging those windows in the Spaces view. So open Firefox in Space 1, open a second FF window in Space 1, then F8 and drag the second window into Space 2 and voila. It's somewhat random what happens when you click on the application icon in the dock when you do this, but it does work.
Good point about the background being very resource-intensive. Never mind.

Since last upgrade (tablet under Android), websites with frames don't work.

All apps are up to date. Since last Firefox upgrade, web sites with frames no longer work properly : frames are outside of screen at bottom. Chrome and other browsers work fine... but I prefer Firefox.

I view this page from home web page ([http://www.ville-fondettes.fr/ http://www.ville-fondettes.fr/] ), staying in Firefox app.
This web site isn't very well designed but was working well with previous version of Firefox.
I found other web sites but a private account is needed. I try to find other examples with the same issue.
