Fixing error 80070422 Windows 7 - Windows Update

Usually you will find the following steps as fix for windows 7 update error 8007422
1- Windows update service must be set to automatic startup
2- Same goes for Window Module installer
But one step that is missing, and I stumbled upon after about a 100 different things was
3- Software protection service. This must be also running or set to automatic startup.

How do i fix Error 7 (Windows error 14001) so I can install iTunes on my PC (using Windows XP)?  Thanks!

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.

  • "Unable to load data" error after Windows update

    Hi all,
I've been maintaining a LightSwitch desktop app for a couple of years now.  The app runs on a server and several client machines access it.  Sometime in the last few months, any client that has Windows Update enabled has failed to load data.  Instead
it shows red crosses where the data should be and the tooltip, "Unable to load data. Please check your connection and try loading again."
Other clients that don't have updates enabled are fine.  Has anyone else run into this issue?  Does anyone know how to resolve it?
    Thanks,
    Liam

    Hi Angie,
Thanks for your reply.  I've enabled diagnostics as described.  Here's what I find.
When I load my LightSwitch screen, I get the following entry highlighted red in Fiddler:

  • "LogonUI.exe-Application Error" error after Windows update at Win10

I get the LogonUI.exe error after the Windows 10 TP setup. Happening on both upgrade case, and also new install case. The Windows 10 TP was ok at the setup beginning, but this error happening after a Windows update and reboot. Now I cannot logon and cannot
go to the safe mode, seems F8 or shift-F8 has no function. I'm using a T440s NB and checked all hardware diagnostics are good.

  • How do you fix error 7 (Windows Error 126)?

The error messages I received are below.  I installed an update and then it didn't work.

Take a look at iTunes for Windows: "Error 7" message when opening iTunes. Perhaps your .NET Framework needs a repair.

  • Error installing Windows updates

I am unable to install the following Windows updates :
    1. KB3023562
    2. KB3004375
    3. KB3031432
After I installed it, rebooted, it fails and reverts back. Error code : 8007054F. I also have downloaded the standalone installer but gets the same result. I am using Windows 7 Pro 64bit. Any help is appreciated.

    Method 1:
Try installing the update manually in a clean boot state:
Place the computer in clean boot and check if the issue persists.
To help troubleshoot error messages and other issues, you can start Windows 7 by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This kind of startup is known as a "clean boot." A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.
How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135
Note: After troubleshooting, make sure to put the computer to start as usual as mentioned in Step 7 from the above provided KB article.
    Download link:
    Update for Windows 7 (KB2732487)

    Method 2:
Try performing SFC (System File Checker) scan on the computer.
    Reference:
How to use the System File Checker tool to troubleshoot missing or corrupted system files on Windows Vista or on Windows 7
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929833
    Method 3:
Let's  temporarily disable antivirus and check if that helps, refer the link for more information.
    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Disable-antivirus-software
Note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you shouldn't disable your antivirus software. If you have to temporarily disable it to install other software,
you should re-enable it as soon as you're done. If you're connected to the Internet or a network while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

  • Hot Fix error message for KB979344 "this update is not applicable to your computer", on Windows 7 64 bit with SP1

I've been having issues with an external Esata drive.  Instead of being seen as a removeable drive, it is seen as a hard drive.  This has caused us nothing but problems since our full disk encryption software automatically starts to encrypt
    the drive rendering it useless.
The real problem I'm having is installing the Hot Fix, KB979344, for this issue.  when tring to install, I get the message, "this update is not applicable to your computer"  I've looked and this hot fix doesn't seem to be part of SP1, but
I could be missing it.  Any thoughts?
    Thanks,
    Keith

    Hi Keithk,
This hotfix is already contained in Windows 7 Service Pack 1.
Please add the registry key to check if the issue persists. (For added protection, back up the registry before you modify it. Then, you can restore the registry if a problem occurs.  )
    Navigate to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Storage
Create a DWORD Value, name SATAHotplugPolicyOverride,
    set 1 in Value Data.
Restart the computer to check if it works.

  • Adobe Photoshop CC Error After Windows Update

    Hi.
My Windows 8 automatically updated today and since then my Adobe Photoshop CC had been crashing. Everytime I try to edit a new work, the project flickers to black making it difficult to edit layers. When I choose to transform the layer, that is when Photoschop stops working. It only started happening today and the same thing occurs. I can create a text, or paste a layer or add effects but when I have to transform a layer, it now crashes.
What and how do I get the details of the problem?

  • How to fix error 7 (windows 126)

iTunes was working fine and then all of a sudden it said "MSVCR80.dll was not found" and that reinstalling the application may correct the problem but did not.  Help!

Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
    iTunes
    Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
    Bonjour
    Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.
    Please note:
Some users may need to follow all the steps in whichever of the following support documents applies to their system. These include some additional manual file and folder deletions not mentioned above.
