Fixing nokia 6233 MMS Problem

I. I've just had a problem sending MMS with the Nokia 6233. When you tried to send a MMS the phone just turned white and them went to the first Menu. It seems that when you trie to send a MMS and you have delivery reports turned on (of the MMS) it blanks. Choose not to want delivery reports on the MMS and it will work. If you already changed it (and you can't send MMS) you have to reset the phone fisrt. Then do the changes you want but don't choose the reports active. If you've never changed the settings don't change it.
Regars, Manel
PS. Sorry for my english. Anything i can help just say it

If you contact your service provider they will ask you to SMS to a particular number for GPRS settings over the AIR. You receive the settings, save and you can access GPRS.

  • How to fix 3G/VVM/MMS problems in 4.0 WITHOUT losing all of your data

First off, I can't take credit for this. tekset21 on these forums mentioned trying a restore from DFU instead of straight up and that's when I started experimenting the last few hours.
I've tried this twice. It worked the same exact same way. I'm guessing it will work for you as well.
    1) Make sure you have a backup to restore to that will work. For me, this was the backup I made just before I upgraded to 4.0 yesterday.
    2) Put your phone into DFU mode. To do this, you basically connect to iTunes, Hold down both the top button and the home button for 10 seconds, then release the top button but keep holding the home button until a window pops up in iTunes saying it's discovered a phone in iTunes in restore mode. If you need more help google "DFU mode" - there are tons of videos.
    3) Restore using the regular restore button. Wait for the iPhone to finish reapplying the 4.0 software and reappear in iTunes
    4) Click set up as a new phone and then continue. I personally sent myself an MMS, verified the 3G data connection was working by using maps, and played around with my voice mail until it asked me for a password and eventually showed me my visual voice mail.
    5) Finally I restored to the backup I made yesterday. Everything was there like a normal restore (kinda).
NOTE: Whenever I did this the first time it came back from the restore with no SMS icon. I cannot explain this. I could receive a SMS, I could send one. The MMS worked fine too. The icon even showed up in the task drawer- just no icon on the home screen.
Tried the above 5 steps a second time and said "what the ****" and just rebooted my phone- the SMS icon appeared. Went through all the motions again (third time) and the icon appeared again.
    6) Reboot your phone (if you haven't already).
Doing all of the above got me my phone to exactly where it was before i updated yesterday. I wish I could test this and restore it with the backup I made right before I started doing this tonight (get my messages from today back) but iTunes does not give me the option of doing so. I don't know why- I can see both backups and their timestamps but iTunes just isn't giving me that option.
    Hope this helps.

THIS FIX ALSO WORKS FOR THE EXCHANGE SYNCING PROBLEM!!!
    THANKS!!

  • Nokia 6650 MMS problems

Hi I have just purchased a 6650 FOLD and I am wanting to use it my O2 postpay sim. I have changed the settings for internet usage and I can can get access. However I can not manage to set up the MMS to work.
I have tried settings from the internet but it only gives me the option of using the packet data as by data bearer. But I understand that MMS only works over GPRS ?
I have tried setting up a GPRS as a data bearer but to no avail.
I have tried getting the settings via O2 and they wont send them as its no supported by O2 (t-mobile only). Also tried the Nokia site to send the settings, but just get a message "trusted server setting received but not saved. Message could not be authenticated and was deleted." This was also the case for another site that sends settings for the 6650 fold.
Anyone any ideas to either the settings for mms for this phone or how to stop the message being deleted (O2 say this probably a setting in the phone)..

Thanks for the pointer, yes its surely something to do with the t-mobile firmware. Anyhow I did as you said and asked O2 to send me the settings for the 6220 classic, but no message ever came through. I eventually got them via email and they worked so THANKS FOR YOUR HELP!

It sounds like your 5800 has the earpiece fault that was common with 5800's made before February.
You need to take it to a nokia care point for repair under warranty.

  • Error in connection - nokia 6233

I have a nokia 6233, sent it away because keypad wasn't working but now i have replacement, i am not able to make calls or send messages. Phone is a contract phone and sim works in other phones, just wondering is there a setting on the phone that would fix this? any suggestions would be helpfulMessage Edited by star10 on 01-Sep-200712:58 PM

    Hiya
We have been having the ERROR IN CONNECTION problem for nearly 8 months now, AAPT blames Nokia, Nokia says nothing wrong with the phone. It has been into the sevice centre this week and still not working, I am going in tomorrow to get it looked at AGAIN. We upgraded to 6103 in Jan and almost immediately had problems, we have had new sims and a new handset sent and still getting same message.
If I find anythign out from tomorrow will let you know but by doing a "GOOGLE" search on the term Error in Connection is would seem that this is an ongoing problem with the Nokia phone going back at least 3 yrs.
It is very frustrating and if its not fixed, you will hear me from where you are!

  • Headset (HS-23) connection with device (Nokia 6233...

    Hi
From last couple of weeks my headset (HS-23) is not properly connecting with my device (Nokia 6233). Sometimes device shows headset icon but there is no sound in the headset at all. Sometimes sound came from only one of the ear piece, sometimesa sound comes from both of the ear piece but with a different volume level among them. It can be fixed for some of the time by just pushing/pulling the connection with device but not always. Also if this is fixed like this, this type of fix does not persist for long time e.g. problem again came in if the connection point is again moved/pushed/pulled by mistake.
Please help me what to do because of this mess its annyoing and disturbing the music listening experience.

Just clean the pop-port on your phone and the contacts on the headset.
Use a cotton tip with a few drops of isopropyl alcohol on it but be careful not to bend the contacts on the headset.

  • Nokia 6233 Losing Tones and Wallpapers on Shutdown...

    Hi All,
Frustrated user seeking advice. My Nokia 6233 has been working perfectly for last 6 months.
Now, it has developed a mighty annoying hiccup!
Have set personalised ring tones and wallpapers which disappear and default back to phone settings every time the phone is turned off.
It does not matter if the tone/images are on phone memory or 2GB SD card. They disappear every time and need to be reset. Frustrating!!!
Things I have done to date are:
    1. Updated phone software online
    2. Reset the phone back to factory settings
3 Moved tones/images from SD memory to phone
    4. Punched a wall (very hard)
Anybody else have a suggestion as this was working (and now not)? Could I have deleted something/file important when clearing out memory on phone?
Where are the profile/memory settings stored on the phone?
Most importantly, what should I do and has anybody experienced similar and worked a fix?
    Cheers - Trav

    Looks like a software/firmware problem.
Are you using custom themes? Try reverting to the default Nokia theme and test.
If problem persists, take your handset to your nearest service center and have its firmware fully re-flashed. =)

  • Nokia 6233 v05.10 odd behaviour

    Hello!
After thoroughly searching not only this board but the entire Internet, I found no answer to my question so I decided to register and ASK.
I need to know if any of you owners of a Nokia 6233 observed this odd behaviour of your phone - so please keep reading.
I purchased the phone 16 days ago. Being my first Nokia, I took time to exploit its every feature, therefore draining the battery quite quickly. I discharged and fully charged the battery at least 3 times in the first 3 days, without leaving it plugged-in overnight (as far as I know this is no longer necessary). The battery life time increased progressively until a maximum of three days of normal use, meaning moderate talking (under 20 minutes per day), little or no use of Java apps, camera, media players or GPRS/EDGE connection. The screen savers are off, power saver is on, sleep mode is on. Packet data connection - when needed and network mode is GSM only because I do not use 3G. All these should get me the best stand-by time possible, right? Well, they did, until...
I bought a new microSD card, 2.0 GB storage, made by SanDisk. The card works fine, I put my favorite music and video clips on it - all the stuff you do when you have enough space. Since then, the battery life decreased SUBSTANTIALLY to LESS THAN 24 HOURS. And there's more. The battery drains even if the phone is turned off, in roughly the same amount of time. I have never ever seen anything like this. Sometimes the battery is so low that the phone takes a few minutes before displaying the battery charging icon and, when started, it asks for hour/date settings.
So, I need to know if anybody else noticed battery life decrease with bigger memory card capacity, and what's to be done.

Have you tried using the in-box memory card(That came with the phone) again? There's something wrong with your phone and battery if the problem still occurs..
