Fixing (or firming) of Schedule lines

Good afternoon,
Is there any way that I can fix(or firm) schedule lines on mass via a vendor?
Thanks in advance.

Hi
I do not think such facility is avaialable in Std SAP.

  • Firming the Schedule Lines in Sch.Agreement

Hi , I have done the  following to firm the schedule lines in Scheduling agreement.
    1. Firm Zone as 30 days
2.Tradeoff zone days as 60 days
3.Binding MRP indicator as NULL(Lines not changeable within Zones)
4.In OMIN , Firm Schedule lines enabled for the MRP group
When i run the MRP, schedule lines are getting created with Firm Indicator (*) for the requirements lying within these zones. After transmitting the schedule lines to vendor , if i change the requirement again, the schedule  lines within Firm Zone are getting adjusted as per the new requirment. I dont know whats the purpose behind maintaining these Firm Zone and Trade off Zone.
    Pointers are much appreciated.
    Thanks and regards,
    Milton Isaac

    Hi,
Rolling delivery schedules issued under scheduling agreements are divided into different time zones indicating the degree to which lines of the schedule are binding.
Firm zone (zone 1) (go-ahead for production).
The schedule lines within this zone count as firm and thus as fully binding. If you cancel a schedule line that falls within the firm zone, the vendor is entitled to charge you with both production costs and the costs of procuring input materials incurred by him as a result of the cancellation.
Trade-off zone (zone 2) (go-ahead for procurement of input materials)
This is the "semi-firm" zone, giving the vendor the go-ahead to procure necessary input materials for the manufacture of the item ordered. If you cancel a schedule line within this semi-firm zone, the vendor is only entitled to charge you the material costs. Schedule lines falling within this time zone are thus less binding that those falling within the firm zone.

  • RE: Firming for Schedule Lines

    Hi MM Gurus,
I have posted this question to ERP Manufacturing (PP) forum as I thought this is related to MRP settings.
I am working with MRP creating schedule lines automatically, I need way to have firming indicator for the schedule lines that created out of MRP. I have checked the forums and did some research, all mentioned about the time zones
Firm zone (zone 1) - Firmed
    Trade-off zone (zone 2) - Semi Firmed
Planning zone (zone 3) - Forecast
But checking my Scheduling Agreement, ITEM > MORE FUNCTIONS > ADDITIONAL DATA, in the scheduling control portion the FIRM ZONE field and TRADE OFF ZONE field are not modifiable. I have changed SA-->Define document type for SA type to ensure that the indicator for scheduling agreement release documentation is ON. And defined the scheduling control field as optional, but still the FIELDS are grayed out/unmodifiable.
Is there any other configuration change I need to do in order to activate this?
    Thanks,
    Richard

  • HOW TO FIRM THE SCHEDULE LINES

    Dear All
Scenario is "" Through MRP i am creating the schedule lines for raw materials"".
Now I want that during my next planning run the already created schedule lines should remain firmed & according to requierement only new schedule lines should get created.
Please tell me the steps how can i firm my schedule lines.
    Regards
    Rahul Bhardwaj

    Dera Rahul,
There is option in Schedule Line itself that u can give firming period and in that period schedule lines r firmed. Go to ME32L
enter ur SchedulingAgreement Then select ur material and click on Additional Data (Shift+F5). There under Scheduling Control 'Firm Zone' field is there, try with this option and see what i sresult.

  • Firming of schedule lines

    Dear All,
We are using scenario where we are planning purchase requisitions in APO and sending them in ECC. In ECC we are converting them in to schedule lines.  Once schedule lines they get firm in ECC and for APO as well. But we want to change them through APO in forecast delivery horizon i.e. outside JIT horizon. JIT horizon would be 4 days and 10 days FRC horizon.
Is it possible to unfix/ un firm schedule lines outside JIT horizon?
Is there any user exit for this??
    Please advice.

Hi, In the config SA-->Define document type for your SA type ensure that the indicator for scheduling agreement release documentation is ON.
The fields relevant for the doc.type are specified by the entry in the 'Fleld selection' field. (like LPA or LPL).
Go to Define screen layout at document level. For the Field selection as above choose Scheduling control and double click on the above.
I can only guess that as you are using a customised SA type, the entry is selected as 'Display' for the fields for a custom Field selection again(NOT EQ LPA or LPL).
If yes, you can make it optional or Required.
See if this sorts out your issue.
Although it looks like a ordinary field control change, am not sure what impact inconsistencies/changes like this would bring.
Better to check with MM consultants before making use of the changes.
LP vs LPA: With LP the schedule lines are instantly transferred to vendor. With LPA you have the option to use a creation profile etc to transmit the data in your preferred time bucket at a later stage and then transmit it and not instantly like LP.

  • Firming the schedule lines from MRP

    Hi All,
I have a scenario where I generate the scheule lines from the total planning run for the material with the help of schedule line indiator = 3.
I want these schedule lines should get automatically firmed. Which are the various ways by which I can do this?
    Regards,
    MHP

    Dear
Using MRP Type with Firiming like P1 , P2 etc is the best way to deal with this situation .
However , there is option in Schedule Line itself that u can give firming period and in that period schedule lines r firmed. Go to ME32L enter ur Scheduling Agreement Then select ur material and click on Additional Data (Shift+F5). There under Scheduling Control 'Firm Zone' field is there, try with this option and see what is sresult?
If the date of a schedule line lies within the firm zone, the vendor has the go-ahead to produce the relevant quantity with the assurance that the orderer will bear any and all material and production costs associated with the scheduled quantity in the event of subsequent cancellation by the latter.
    1. Another way of handling your issue is by using the manual firming .
    2. In mdo4 in the Edit menu u will find a Set firming date.
    3. Now you can select this and this will give u a popup for entering a date.
4.When u give a date in this and hit enter.
Also please note delivery schedule lines in ME38 (even it is created automatically), in Planning time fence, will get affected by MRP run.
    Hope clear to you.

  • Firming of the schedule lines

    Hi,
in MD04 we can see the firm indicator for some of the schedule lines. We aware of that this indicator is set based on the firm zone period and the schedule release date.
Apart from firm zone is there any other parameter makes the schedule line firm ( except manual change) Please clarify.
This is the very urgrent req from business so your immediate repsponse is really appreciated.
    Thanks
    Raj

    Hi
You can firm all schedule lines which are printed or transmitted to vendor by customizing in OMIN for your plant and material group.
Or if you create schedule line manually.

  • System is not firming schedule line automatically

    Hello,
I want to know how the end and start date of planning time fence is calculated and why system is not firming schedule line automatically.
In Material master I am using MRP type P1 and GR processing time 1 day, planned delivery time 1 day, planning time fence is 7 days. Lot size key EX
Today is 19.11.2008. And I have requirement of this material coming from FG on 20.11.2008.In MD04 transaction system is showing End of planning time fence is 28.11.2008 which is fine as per material master (+ 7 days excluding sat & Sunday).
When I run MRP for FG, system generates schedule line for this material procured form vendor for the required qty on 28.11.2008 with exception message (30-Plan process according to schedule20.11.08).
As per firming type P1 system should automatically firm the order since requirement date is on 20.11.2008 and it should show the schedule line on 20.11.2008 not on 28.11.2008
But when I change the delivery date manually from 28.11.2008 to 20.11.2008 it firms the schedule line.
Please suggest what can be the solution
    Regards
    Nanhe Babu

    Dear,
Check your MRP type and Planning time fence defined in mrp 1 view of material master?
    Firm zone (go-ahead for production)
One of two periods specifying the degree to which the delivery schedule lines of a scheduling agreement release are classified as firm or semi-firm.
    Use
    ! Firm zone I Trade-off zone I
    !--!-II> Days
SA release creation date Schedule line date
    Firm zone: (go-ahead for production)
If the date of a schedule line lies within the firm zone, the vendor has the go-ahead to produce the relevant quantity with the assurance that the orderer will bear any and all material and production costs associated with the scheduled quantity in the event of subsequent cancellation by the latter.
    1. Another way of handling your issue is by using the manual firming .

  • Automatically create scheduling lines based on quantity and number of containers

    Dear Gurus
Our business requires that when creating a sales order automatic scheduling lines should be created based on the quantity and number of containers.
i searched  and found of using VOV6 but i am a bit confused on how to set up this calculation logic.
    Thanks and Regards

    Dear Arun kumar
Our business requires that when creating a sales order automatic scheduling lines should be created based on the quantity and number of containers.
Generally shedulines  are confirmed Based On qty only ...Or Number of containers
    Check OVLZ   Maintain Days
MMR--Maintain RLT  MRP 3 VIEW Or goods pressing time MRP2 VIEW
    VOV8--Lead time in days
VOV6--Activate availability check, Req check box
    OVZ9--Remove RLT Check box
SCAL--Factory Calendar also impact please check
If customer Is maintain complete delivery ..Make it Complete check box in XD01 But while creating Sales order if he agrees Partial delivery also according to company activate check box  Fixed qnty/date in Schedul lines
And make it availability check in sales order level not in delivery level
Let me know your requirement is some thing different

  • Scheduling Agreement Schedule Lines firmed after outbound delivery

    Dear All,
We use scheduling agreement for cross-company process in our client.  After MRP run schedule lines created automatically. For the next step outbound delivery is created via VL10F (or VL10B).
After outbound delivery creation, on MD04 or ME39, i see the schedule line firmed (*). Because firmig MRP doesn't change those schedule lines. This is a problem for our client.
Do you know a way for MRP can change the schedule lines even outbound delivery created ? How can i manage this situation ?
    Best regards,

    Hi Anil
The '*' that you see means that the schedule line has been changed manually and the Firming indicator (EKET-FIXKZ) is set when there is any change to the Schedule line.
So, when a Delivery is created, the schedule line should be 'Fixed'.
Otheriwse, MRP can delete or change this schedule line and it would cause an inconsistency in the system. This is the logically intended behaviour.
Please see the F1 help for the field EKET-FIXKZ:
    "Schedule Line is "Fixed"
Fixes the schedule line and determines that it cannot now be automatically changed as a result of materials planning and control/MRP activities.
    Procedure
The indicator is set automatically if:
.- You make manual changes to a line of a scheduling agreement delivery schedule that was created via the materials planning process
.- You create a schedule line manually
    Dependencies
You can specify whether Materials Planning/MRP can change delivery schedule lines within the firm and trade-off zones in the additional data for the scheduling agreement item."
    I hope this helps.

  • Schedule lines firming

    Hi,
In MD04 we can able to see the * indicator for some of the schedulelines which got firmed due to the firm zone period. But when we look into the same schedule lines in ME38 fixing indicator is not set for the same schedule lines..
Kindly explain these two indicator difference. Also clarify lines whcih are fimred due to the firm zone peroid have the fix indicator in ME38 or not.
    Thanks in advance.

    hello Rajprabhu,
The scheduling agreement schedule line is not firmed physically:The
fixing indicator (EKET-FIXKZ) is empty for this schedule line.
This can be checked in Transaction ME39 or with Transaction SE16 for
table EKET for the corresponding schedule line.
In the MRP group of the corresponding material, it is set that only
transferred scheduling agreement schedule lines should be regarded as
firmed (Transaction OPPR, firming scheduling agreement, Firm
    transmSLines [Field XFAT1]).
In this case, only such scheduling agreement schedule lines are firmed
which were transferred by message transmission through purchasing to the
vendor. (see also the F1 help for the field).
However, the system displays all scheduling agreement schedule lines as
fixed in Transaction MD04 within the release period and assigns them
with a star ('*'), that is, this applies also scheduling agreement
schedule lines with a transmitted quantity of 0.
In contrast to the above, these schedule lines are not displayed as
fixed in Transaction MD05 or in the planning with 'Display result'.
Note 354164 explains this system behavior.
For the planning, the transmitted quantity is considered as fixed if
this is correspondingly set in the MRP group of the material.
If the transmitted quantity was updated correctly, it should be
contained in field AMENG of table EKET.
By using Transaction SE16 for this table and the corresponding schedule
line (scheduling agreement number EBELN, item EBELP, schedule line
ETENR), you should be able to find out whether a transmitted quantity
was written to the database and a fixing can be carried out
correspondingly in amount of the transmitted quantity or whether no
update of the transmitted quantity occurred (see below Notes 82169,
    117093, 134356).
First, the system behaves as intended.
It should be checked whether the function, which is controlled by this
indicator, is actually wanted this way (to firm only scheduling
agreement schedule lines which actually have been transferred).
In addition, problems can occur in purchasing when the printed quantity
is updated (AMENG).This symptom can especially occur after you have
    upgraded from a release < Release 4.0A to a release > Release 4.0B.
In this regard, see the related Notes 82169, 117093 and 134356.

  • SA Schedule Lines Fix indicator in MD04.-

    Hello,
I want to modify fix indicator from Schedule Agreement Schedule line in transaction MD04.
       (check and uncheck)
Could you tell what to do?
    Thanks in advance.
Edited by: Juan Manuel Caballero on Oct 6, 2009 9:00 PM

    Hi
There are two possible scenarios for fix indicator
    1) Firm indicator will be set automatically based on the no of days maintained in the firm zone from the date of MRP run.
    2) If you change the schedule line manually the system will set the firm Indicator automatically.
I think there is no provision in SAP to change this manually in MD04.
    Hope it helps
    Thanks /Karthik

  • Delete firmed planned order, pr or schedule lines

    Hi All,
Do any user exit, functional module , sap notes is there to delete the firmed planned order, PR, Scheduling line
    while run the MRP.
    Thanks
    vraj

    Roll forward period
To automatically update the master plan, you can set the system so that firmed planned orders that were scheduled before the roll forward period can be deleted during the planning run. With this function, all planned orders, for which there are no longer any requirements, are deleted.
    Note on roll forward period
In step "check MRP types", you can maintain the indicator "Delete out-of -date planned orders" which is used to set the system so that firmed order proposals, that lie beforethe roll forward period, are deleted in in the planning run. At the same time, new planned orders are created that are adjused to the current situation. (Or depending on the fixing type the old order proposals are displaced to the end of the planning time fence.)
    Hope this suits your requirement.
    Regards
    Ratan

  • MRP Type P1 and late firm schedule lines

    Hello All,
We are using MRP Type P1 which firms our schedule agreement schedule lines within the planning time fence (as desired).  However, sometimes the supplier is late on delivery and the firm schedule line goes into the past.
Is it possible to have MRP move the firm schedule line delivery date to today instead of going into the past?
         Thank you,
         Jerry

    Hi ,
    Bring process forward (reschedule in)
Within this rescheduling horizon, the net requirements calculation checks whether, after a requirement, a firmed receipt exists, which can be used to cover this requirement. Then the system displays a rescheduling date as well as the exception message Bring process forward for this receipt. The net requirements calculation then uses this receipt and the system will only create another procurement proposal if the receipt quantity is not sufficient to cover the complete requirement. Several firmed receipts can be used to cover one requirement.
It does not take in to account the GR processing time and it is purely based on the stock requirement date , parameters in Procurement and Scheduling in the Material Master
So it will consume the requirement  backward scheduling and bring the Process forward.
Kumar which  strategy are you using ?  scheduling agreement is of weekly , daily or monthly bucket ?
How many days SA bring to Production and How many days SA for forecast you are doing ?
Are you using any Program to convert these SA in to PIR and upload ( using any program ) .
