Fixing RAID Utility Disorganized Event Time?
As I know this may happen to you guys using RAID Card on Xserve, the RAID Utility shows incorrect Time under Events console, say, after the battery reconditioning. For instance, the Event log shows Time 11/12/32 7:42 AM Battery started conditionging cycle (write cache disabled).
Is there any way to delete/modify this metadata log file? The time is just incorrect and Clear it will not remove the event from log file. Since it is logged in year 2032, the record will always stay at the very top, hindering the sight of my every new events (very annoying).
Any clue to find the whereabouts of this RAID log file? Thanks.
Hi Eric,
I have go into MRU again and that did have one setting "Info" under event notification. I jsut un-check it ....
Thanks,

Uqbad sectors happen all the time. i wouldn't worry about replacing a drive until you see a critical failure. if you have no other means of backup (since RAID shouldn't be used as a means of backup anyway) then you may want to look into either OLDB (online data backup) and/or keeping spare drives around in the event of a unrecoverable failure.

Raid Utility Error Message "raid utility is not supported on this computer"
I am not doing anything that I know of, but Raid Utility keeps opening up on its own, and a message pops up multiple times a day telling me "raid utility is not supported on this computer"
Anyone have any idea how to fix this?Network startup is if you want to start your macbook using a network drive.
Keep your startup settings at your current drive.
Raid utility doesn't apply to you since you only have one hard drive installed, unless you installed another hard drive in your optical bay.
Fibre Channel is another type of hard drive connection via network connection.
You can't access things you don't have installed in your macbook. Those are there in case you decide to have a network drive start up options, a raid configuration of a fibre channel network drive. -
Raid Utility wont Initialize a volume
Hi.
My Raid Utility won't initialize last two volumes. I have 3 tasks, 2 volume initialize tasks are Suspended, after that there is one Rebuild task that has a Scheduled status (the loading bar, no status bar). I did some digging and cleared all the events in the Controller status list. Both volumes are working, but won't initialize ? I tried rebooting, i got few more events that raid card started the rebuild process, then aborted it, then started it again, then aborted, and then started again. General status is Raid is rebuilding, but still I am not seeing the real status bar, like i saw last time. Is it really doing something or jammed?
It looks like the 2 suspended tasks would be preventing the rebuild to start, but the event log says it has started. Will the volumes initialize properly after the rebuild or do I need to get them to initialize them somehow before the rebuild can start?Usually the drives have to be formatted separately as well as partitioned separately.
However, I don't quite understand what you are doing. You currently have four 500 GB drives configured as a RAID 0+1 which I would understand to mean two 500 GB drives striped, a second pair striped. That is two 1 TB striped arrays that are then combined into a mirrored array which would be 1TB. Now as I understand you want to resize one 500 GB drive that is already in the array. This I don't get. -
Raid Utility Message - 72-Hour Battery
Anybody know anything new about Raid Message - I read there have been issues with this:
Controller Reports RAID system 72-Hour Battery Reserve unavailable - etc. etc.
Apparently this happens periodically when computer drains battery and recharges it. But I've been getting this message for 14 days now. I heard it takes a long time, but how long?
Thanks,
JimI think I found it. I believe it is reporting past events every time you reboot wanting you to take action.
The problem is with the UI on the RAID Utility. In the events pane you get the message about your battery being discharged posted on some date in the past. But how do you clear these events?
Not obvious to me.
If you horizontally scroll the events pane you will see a Clear button on the far right.
Once you clear the events the status shows "Good" and I suspect it will not complain on the
next reboot. -
Help: event times not printing in month view
... and yes, I have checked "show time in month view" in preferences, and the event times display on the screen. But on the monthly printout, the times do not appear, only ellipses where the time should be. There should be plenty of space for the information to print, there is white space both at the end of the event line and in the day box. But no times show up at all.
System data: Mac Mini, OS X 10.4.2, iCal 2.0.3 (1055), Brother MFC 7820N printer.
This is really awful... I just switched my wife over to the Mac Mini, and calendaring is a big part of what she needs. And she uses month views a lot. If I can't fix this, she'll probably throw the Mac Mini back in my face and I'll be sleeping on the couch. Yes, she cares that much about times printing in month views.
Mac Mini Mac OS X (10.4.3)I don't know whether this a "solution" or a work-around, but I did find a way to resolve this problem. I recently started using iCal by transferring appointments from a BlackBerry using the BlackBerry PocketMac software. Although all of the appointment times appeared on the monthly calendar, most of the appointment times were replaced by ellipses when the monthly calendar was printed. It turns out that the times would print only after re-entering the appointment manually. This had to be done completely from scratch, i.e., not by editing the original appointment, or by cutting and pasting the appointment back into the calendar. This is a complete pain, but seems to work. I'd love to hear a better solution...

Google calendar event times are shown as -1h
Summary:
When I create a new event in the built in WP8 calendar app to a Google calendar the time of the event is being displayed as one hour earlier.
Steps to reproduce:
Create a new event in calendar. Choose one of the Google calendars configured (I have two configured in my phone). Set time as 2013/07/17 16:00. Save the event.
Expected behavior:
The event time in the agenda view is shown as 2013/07/17 16:00.
Observed behavior:
The event time in the agenda view is shown as 2013/07/17 16:00 for a few seconds. It then automatically changes to 2013/07/17 15:00.
Other notes:
I have two Google calendars configured. I can observe the same misbehavior on both.
I also have a Microsoft (@hotmail.com) calendar configured. This works as expected.
When I log into my Google calendar using a web browser, the time is shown as expected.
When I use a third party calendar (Chronos) and sync my Google account directly, the time is shown as expected.
When I use a third party calendar (Chronos) and use it simply as an interface to the built in WP calendar the time is off again showing 2013/07/17 15:00.
The timezone on my WP is set to (UTC) London.
I started noticing this perhaps a week ago. It was working as expected before.
Phone model is Nokia Lumia 925
Phone OS version is 8.0.10327.77
Notes 1-6 suggests to me that the internal calendaring module in WP8 fails to recognize DST (daylight saving time) in timezone (UTC) London or misinterprets relevant information fields on Google calendar objects.
Note 7 suggests to me that this is related to an update to my WP8 phone or a change in Google calendar API.
Any help is much appreciated, this is driving me rather nuts.
Thanks,
KaarelFurther investigation reveals this only happens when the event is created from within WP native calendar app and disappears when I make an edit to the event in any other calendar client including Google web. So a more appropriate description of the problem would be:
"Native calendar app keeps subtracting 1h off a Google calendar event on EVERY edit"
Create an event at 2013/07/17 15:00 in WP native calendar app. Result: Event shows as 2013/07/17 15:00 in the calendar app for a few seconds, then updates itself to 2013/07/17 14:00.
Edit the event title and save in WP native calendar app. Event time moves by -1h again to 2013/07/17 13:00.
Edit the event title in Google web calendar.
Subsequent edits in WP native calendar do not mess up the time any longer. If I fix the time to what I originally intended (2013/07/17 15:00) in WP native calendar app, it stays there and shows correctly in all previously mentioned calendar viewers.
I just learned that Lumia 925 was released with GDR2 update pre-installed. This update is only now being made generally available. If the issue is secific to the CalDAV implementation in GDR2 rather than specific to my phone only, this would make a lot of angry people. I hope I'm wrong on this though as it's an extremely frustrating problem. -
Maybe this has been answered but I couldn't find anything on a search...
so my iCal on my computer and my iPhone iCal aren't syncing event times correctly. For instance I'll have an event on computer iCal at say, Friday 1pm but on iPhone iCal it says 6pm. All of the events have the wrong times on the iPhone.
I've reset my iSync history and that did not fix the problem. I've "Replaced information on this iPhone" and that didn't work either. Currently I sync my Entourage calendar to iCal and that works fine. But again when I then sync iCal to my iPhone it screws up all of the dates.
Any ideas why?figured it out. it was a time zone syncing problem.

Disk utility crashes every time I try to run it. Help!
My Macbook (late 2008 aluminum unibody running Snow Leopard 10.6.8) is having a plethora of problems - Spotlight won't return any results, I can't get any .dmg files to mount, and software updates can't be installed. Reinstall OS X without erasing the drive
Do the following:
1. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions
Boot from your Snow Leopard Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior and/or Tech Tool Pro to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.
2. Reinstall Snow Leopard
If the drive is OK then quit DU and return to the installer. Proceed with reinstalling OS X. Note that the Snow Leopard installer will not erase your drive or disturb your files. After installing a fresh copy of OS X the installer will move your Home folder, third-party applications, support items, and network preferences into the newly installed system.

RAID Utility does not work after Vista upgrade
Hi,
I have a Qosmio G30 with 2 HD 120GB each. After I upgraded to Windows Vista from Windows XP, the Toshiba RAID Utility does not work anymore. In WXp it worked OK, but in Vista there is no way I can mirror the HD. That is, the utility itself work, but the button that should say Mirror, or something like that is not shown. I have set the drives to RAID-1 in the BIOS, but no go.
Is there any way to get the software RAID to work again?Hi,
just a little question: While installing vista, did you installed the RAID-driver at installation time? Maybe this could be the reason why RAID cannot be activated properly.
Please give some feedback, if you installed the RAID drivers for Vista during the installation..
Cheers -
RAID Utility software not available in OS X Mavericks?
Up till yesterday I have been using a RAID card in my Mac Pro (Mid 2010, 4 x 1 TB SATA, initially as RAID-5, now in a RAID-10 setup) under OS X 10.8.5 without any issues, and the RAID utility allowed me to check the status od me disks, event log, and the battery status / refresh cycles for the RAID card. Last night now I upgraded to OS X Mavericks. The upgrade went well, things appear to work OK, obviously at least half of my RAID-10 array is in use — however, I can't find the RAID utility, check the status of the RAID-10 system and the battery status of the RAID card. The disk utility shows the RAID set - but none of the underlying features (individual disks and their status, logs, battery) — am I thrown back to a soft RAID, and my investment into a RAID card has evaporated?
Thanks a lot, Seliqui! the reason why I did not find it is that a) after the upgrade to Mavericks, the icon that I previously had parked in the dock no longer worked, and b) the new location for the utility can't be found anywhere on the Launchpad. I suspect both effects are an indication that they missed to add the new directory to the command path. I can hardly imagine that this was deliberate because if you have a RAID card you definitely want to have access to that utility — not just in case of a disk failure (I have had a couple of these!), but also in order to stop the user from doing things one is not supposed to do while the battery is reconditioning.

ICal will not display correct "event" times
Have iMac (21.5-inch, Late 2012), OS X Yosemite (10.10 ) and iCal app suddenly will not display the correct Event times that I have designated in the little pop up box? Any ideas about what I can do to reset iCal or fix this annoying error in the app?
Thanks!
MarilynHi,
Have you tried turning it off in iCal's Preferences and then back on again?
Best wishes

How do I correct the Event time stamp in iPhoto?
When I updated my iMac to Lion, the Events in iPhoto are no longer sequenced by time correclty. The incorrectly sequenced Events have the wrong time / data stamp. How do I edit the Event time/date stamp to correct the problem?
Hi LarryHN,
The version of iPhoto is 8.1.2. I found your workaround on other strings, and tried it, to no avail. This issue has happened to three of my Event folders -- all from the same three-week trip. I had each day separated into different events and named consecutively. At some point, I uploaded all those photos to photobucket, and I believe the three troublesome Events perhaps were corrupted in some way after that upload? Regardless, I can't seem to fix it. All of the photos have the correct date (for example, in one Event, all photos are dated 12/25/11). However the date range on the Event is 12/31/09-1/7/12. So, those three Events keep getting sorted out of sequence.
I opened one of the Events, highlighted one photo and selected Create Event. That new photo became a new Event. I re-named it, and dragged all the photos from the old Event into the new Event. ...Unfortunately, the new Event still has the weird Date Range on it?
Any ideas? -
I have my new super-duper Mac Pro tower 3.2 GHz with RAID card and I installed 4 identical 1 TB drives and made a RAID 5 array. Now, the issue is that I have had two power outages, and my UPS seems to have missed picking them up (I have a new UPS now for the tower), but here is the deal, I get the bad event, clear the event log, "initialize" the array (~1 day), Verify the array (~3 days) and RAID Utility can still give me the message that the array is "bad".
So, I have, in sequence, a failure, a rebuild, a verify, a reboot (clean) and it goes back and complains it needs to rebuild from scratch even though it already has done so ...
Also, clearing the errors does not seem to clear the errors from the log ...
So, is it me ... or does the RAID Utility stink?FeistMeister wrote:
Um, that was the point.
I did a rebuild between the crash and the next one, and a verify ...
I missed that.
And after the second crash I did a complete initialize and verify with clean bill of health and all green dots....
Now I am 3-4% into the initialize which will take until tomorrow sometime to finish ... then I can reverify ... but the point is that it does not seem to want to forget the past ... and "clearing" the log does not seem to make it forget the past either ...
Well, it still boots off the array, and seems to run fine so I suppose I should not be TOO annoyed, but I expected better from Apple ... and better speed off of a dedicated $800 RAID card ... Oh, and the battery is fully charged ....
I have never used RAID, probably because I never needed, but also I have read here and there of the requisite maintenance needed, and of problems similar to yours.
I wish you well.
