Fixing slightly corrupt JPEGs
I'm having a problem with iPhoto 7.1.3. My camera (a Canon D60) occasionally generates slightly corrupt JPEGs. They work just fine via Quick Look or in Preview, but iPhoto can't import them. I know I can fix them by opening them up in Preview and re-saving them, but this loses a generation as I'm recompressing the file.
Does anyone know of a program I can use that rewrites the internal structure of a JPEG file without going through the decompress-recompress cycle? I know it's not as simple as that, of course, but I'm looking to come as close as possible to that idea.
If you use the Best Quality level in Preview it actually creates a larger file than the original. None of the information will be lost.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 6 and 7 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

Getting JPEG Library Error for Corrupt JPEG Data using CS5
After recently upgrading to CS5 I am getting JPEG Library Errors for corrupt JPEG data. I have my old PC still in use that uses CS4 and does not generate these errors when accessing the same site. Could someone please assist me in how to get rid of these errors using CS5? I can't find help out there anywhere for this!
Thanks in advance! You could use Photoshop's Image Processor to open all of your jpegs in a given folder, make a slight tweek and resave them in the hopes of cleaning out any errors that DW is hitting. It's worth a shot maybe.
1. In PS go to File > Scripts > Image Processor
2. For Step 1, browse to a folder in your site with jpeg issues
3. For Step 2, choose save in same location
4. For Step 3, choose Save as JPEG and check Convert File to sRGB
5. Click Run
This will create a sub folder called JPEG with the images resaved there. You can drag them into the parent folder to replace the originals.
If you haven't already, make sure to report the bug here: https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/mmform/index.cfm?name=wishform
At least the right people will be made aware of it then and if it's common enough to trip whatever quantity/user reports system they use, it would get included for repair.
I honestly don't think it's a "bug" per se, since the forum isn't absolutely flooded with the problem. -
When trying to edit a page, Contribute 4 throws...
JPEG library error Premature end of jpg file Contribute An
invalid argument was encountered
Now the thing is, the error is coming from a draft, not from
the live site.
I know this because when I try to edit the same page from a
machine that does not have a draft of the page, there is no problem
editing the page.
How do I fix? I can't delete the draft from w/in Contribute
because the draft won't get to the point where I can delete it.
I think I know where are the drafts kept, but lots of dll's
etc. are in there as well. How do I ID the draft files so I don't
delete anything important. Actually, if the error is correct, it's
not the draft file itself but a called image that's the problem.
Anyway to ID that image? Are images for drafts kept somewhere?

Corrupt JPEG: Bad Huffman Code
Hello
I've been having intermittent trouble with images going all
crazy on me. I have Dreamweaver 8 on my Intel based Mac. I
downloaded the free trial version of CS3 onto my husband's PC and
when I tried opening the same document on his computer I get
"Corrupt JPEG File: Bad Huffman code". Does anyone know what this
means and how do I fix it. This has happened the odd time before.
Please help!quote:

I am trying to figure out the same error about the huffman
code. When i open a page in dreamweaver and get that code the page
is a pixelated and discolored like they colors are layered very
hard to describe ... -
I've searched the archives but not much help there. I'm
getting a sporadic corrupt jpeg error. When it happens it occurs
when I'm ABOUT to create a new page from a template. I haven't been
able to determine yet if I've actually selected the dwt (I think it
happens when I get to the asset tab). When it occurs it repeats 3
times.
The dilemma is that it gives no indication which jpeg file is
corrupt and so far I've seen no indication that any jpeg I'm
working with isn't displaying properly.
Any thoughts?
Tom
[EDIT] Did some more testing. The error message is being
displayed when I switch from the files to the asset tab before I
select the template. This is an intermittent problem meaning that
it doesn't happen all the time and I haven't yet figured out how to
recreate it.The error message is a red herring. It has nothing to do with
JPG images.
I have no idea what causes it, but I do know that Adobe is
interested in
fixing it.

Whenever I open the Assets tab in Dreamweaver 8 (am using XP
Pro), I get a one-after-the-other series of the error message:
Corrupt JPEG data: 11 extraneous bytes before marker 0xdb . The
number of extraneous bytes varies (58, 4, etc) and so does the 0x
number (0xd9, 0xc4, etc.)
I don't know which jpg files are causing the problem and
there are hundreds of them listed within Dreamweaver Assets.
How can I determine which jpeg files are corrupt?> Why does Dreamweaver bother with this error message
about "corrupt jpeg

> premature end of data segment" if the image, created in
Photoshop, works

> on the web page, and in any other software??
Most likely because the image has a corrupted data segment
that your limited
test of software chooses to ignore?

I have one website that when I open it in Dreamweaver CS3--I
get corrupt jpeg boxes coming up every 20 seconds for about 5
minutes.
Why doesn't it tell us which image is bad? Is there a way to
stop the alertsAnyone ever figure out a fix for this?
I have so many images and they are scattered around in many folders so I can't just reprocess the images...There are just too many.Does Adobe have a fix for this? I basically can't use my Assets manager because if it's open, I get the popups about every 20 seconds.

Can I reinstall iPhoto '11 to fix any corrupted files?
You can but it will not fix anything - you have a corrupted library = not an corrupted application
Backup your iPHoto library, depress the option and command keys, launch iPhoto and ftom the resulting first aid window rebuild your database

Why do I get corrupted JPEGs when saving images in Camera Raw, CS6, Mac 0S Mavericks
I occasionally get corrupted JPEG files when processing RAW files in Camera Raw. The images will have lines of pixels that ar out of line, and or whole sections will be truncated and show white or black. I'm using PS CS6, Camera Raw 8.6 on a Mac with OSx Mavericks. Not sure, but it might have something to do with the Bridge Cache, which also acts up when it's getting full. Anyone else have this problem, or any advice.
Thanks!right click on the jpeg (the other mouse button then you use to click with) or on trackpad, hold down control and click, in the menu that pops up, click on "get info" next, if the box labeled "locked" is checked, uncheck it. Down at the bottom, there should be a box with your user name, "staff" and "everyone". to the right of this are options to change these you may need to click the small padlock icon and enter in your password. then change all of the permissions to read and write.

Help Fix 26473 Corrupt blocks in system09.dbf
How to Format Corrupted Block Not Part of Any Segment [ID 336133.1]
I'm following the above doc to fix 26K corrupt blocks in system09.dbf
in Step 7 of the Doc it says:
+" First find the *extent size* by querying dba_free_space "+
+65536 = If its 64 K+
+1048576 = 1M+
I'm getting 891559936 with the following query:
SQL> Select bytes from dba_free_space where file_id= 352 and 192128 between block_id and block_id + blocks -1;
BYTES
891559936
What will be my extent size?
I'm lost on how to proceed with the following steps:
BEGIN
for i in 1..1000000 loop
EXECUTE IMMEDIATE 'alter table apps.s allocate extent (DATAFILE '||'''/oracle/KPSO/db/apps_st/data/system09.dbf''' ||'SIZE 64K) ';
end loop;
end ;
+/+
Note you need to change accordingly the size (1M ,64K or 128k) and the value of for loop
can be changed as per requirement.
Thanks.

How do you fix a corrupt ipod nano 4th gen
how do you fix a corrupt ipod nano 4th gen?
Hi bigmike94610,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
For iPod nano troubleshooting I would suggest the troubleshooting outlined in the following web link. I would suggest working through the steps in the order presented on the website, but you may ultimately need to restore your iPod.

Photoshop CC 2014 saves corrupted jpeg files!
I just cant understand this???
Photoshop CC 2014 saves corrupted jpeg files and some other file formats. PSD and PNG works.
I have try with the latest iMac and the latest Mac Book Pro, both with Mavericks and Yosemite. Im saving to their internal hard drives. I can not open the corrupted photos on any application.Nobody else has had problems with the files saved by Photoshop.
Are you sure you aren't just saving the wrong file extension on a different file type (i.e.: a PSD file with .jpeg on the end still isn't a JPEG file)? -
Does oracle import datapump fix block corruption?
Dear all,
I am having a data block corruption on production. I want to export this DB and import it to a test environment using datapump, in order to do some tests on it.
However I am concerned whether impdp will resolve this scenario... and therefore I will lose my test case...
so will oracle import datapump fix block corruption?
Thank youso will oracle import datapump fix block corruption?.No. It detects Logical corruption (corruption and the corrupted segment will not be exported or imported.
Fix the issue by identifying the segment.
Get the block information from your alert.log
select segment_type,owner.segment_name
from dba_extents
where file_id = [&file_id] and [&block] between block_id and block_id+blocks -1; if it is index then drop and recreate index
if it is table and you have backup of that table then restore backup on another database and exp/imp the table.
