FLAC (audio file) support on BB Curve 8900

Is there any music player that can support FLAC (audio file)on the BB Curve 8900?
Or can I find a codec somewhere?
Drives me nuts that the 8900 does not have native support and that the 9300 does.

Hi all can anyone help?
Whilst closing an application window on my BB I got this Error
uncaught exception: net.rim.device.api.system.ObjectGroupReadOnlyException
the phone froze and I had to take the battery out to reset the phone. I contact tech support through orange and they haven't even heard of the error. Can anyone shed any light on this.

Have you retried that particular app to see if it happens again? I find every once in awhile, freaky things can happen that never repeat themselves. It may be the app itself. It may have a corrupt file which in that case, I'd remove it. I haven't had an app that messed up but I have had themes which are treated like apps mess my phone off. And the ones that didn't work were ones I paid for, grrrrr! But losing them was better than putting up with the repercussions. Just my take. If it is a particularly expensive app, you might want to contact who you purchased it from to obtain a refund.

  • Audio Files Supported

I cannot find a definitive list of audio files supported by Apple TV.
Specifically, I am looking to see if it will support all of the below file formats:
    - mp3
    - m4a (AAC)
    - m4a (ALAC)
    - wav (DTS encoded)
Can anyone confirm or deny which of the above are supported? I would also like to see which other ones may be supported.

    Audio formats supported
    * AAC (16 to 320 Kbps); protected AAC (from iTunes Store); MP3 (16 to 320 Kbps); MP3 VBR; Apple Lossless; AIFF; WAV; Dolby Digital 5.1 surround sound pass-through
I remember a while back there were some DTS audio files encoed to wav that played but can't remember the source.

  • Why doesn't Premiere support FLAC audio files?

.flac is an extension that is very useful to the majority of my coworkers as well as myself.  It's quite a disappointment to see that Premiere Pro, even to this date, doesn't support the .flac extension.  Does anybody know why this is or if support will be added soon?

adobe doesn't announce new features, so its anyone's guess if/when flac will be added. it is supported in audition, so if you plan on finishing in audition you can try to wait to add those flac files until then.

  • FLAC audio files in iTunes - How should I convert?

I want to put some FLAC recordings/audio/songs I have in my iTunes. Unless I'm misunderstanding something, iTunes will not accept that format. Does anyone have a suggestion for the best way to re-format those files to something iTunes will accept (like WAV, AIFF, .mp3, etc.)??
Also, as a side note, I would rather convert higher to something like WAV files as to not compress further and take down the higher-quality audio that a FLAC file provides.
Any and all thoughts/suggestions are appreciated! Thank you!!

    Give this a whirl:
    http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/23430/x-lossless-decoder
For a substitute format, Apple Lossless is supported in all Apple software and on all Apple devices, or you can use WAV or AIFF if you wish, though Apple Lossless will have smaller file sizes (than AIFF, at least). MP3, AAC and other "lossy" compressed formats will lose quality.
    Regards.

  • Pdf file support in Blackberry curve 9360

    HI,
Can anyone tell me whether a PDF file can be opened in Blacberry Curve 9360? ??
If i transfer any PDF file from my Pc to my Blackberry phone 9360 can it be opened???

    Hi anandkulthia,
    Welcome to the Support Community!
PDF files can be viewed as attachments on your BlackBerry® Curve™ 9360 smartphone but native PDF file viewing is unsupported. You may be able to find a 3rd party PDF viewer application in BlackBerry App World™ storefront that might help with this. http://bbry.lv/bM0QK5
    Thanks.

  • WAVE audio file support

WAVE files that I imported from a SONY digital dictaphone aren't playing in iTunes. The files play fine in QuickTime and used to play fine in iTunes too. Not sure on which version they stopped working. Now they just skip through almost instantaneously without playing a sound .. even if I re-import them. If I try to convert to MP3 in iTunes, my mac tells me "The disk could not be read from or written to". Answers/clues much appreciated.

I've responded to at least a couple of posts about this issue recently, so you may be able to search for some details quite easily.
Basically, I think that you have WAV files that don't conform to the limited scope of parameters iTunes can handle. To remedy this problem, you can use Audacity to convert the WAVs to WAV format again, but using the following settings:
    16 bit fixed point
    44.1kHz
    Stereo
Now, you can replace the old WAV files in iTunes with the new ones and play and convert them as desired. Please let me know if this helps or not.

  • Imoprt Audio "Files Supported" Issues

For some very odd reason, I cannot import MP3 files, or MP3files that were converted to WMA. I can import WMA files that were "born" WMA. What is it that I can do?

Activation does not make it the full version and the trial does not include MPEG in any form. MPEG2, HDV, MP3, or whatever.

  • Drag and drop FLAC audio into iPod to convert and add?

I manually sort my music as albums in folder directories. I have never liked how iTunes wanted to sort my music back in 2005 and I don't like it any more today.
I recently got a 6th gen iPod Nano via the 1st gen iPod Nano replacement program and I am disappointed in how I cannot use Winamp to manage my playlists anymore. Winamp would automatically transcode incompatible FLAC audio into MP3 before transferring onto my 1st gen Nano.
I have my iPod options under iTunes set to automatically convert higher bitrate audio to 192kbps AAC, but dragging and dropping FLAC audio into my iPod gives an error message that prevents me from adding anything.
I thought maybe I had to import my audio into iTunes' library first, but scanning for media adds every audio file including system and program audio files to my library, which really clutters things up. It treats each artist as an album, so compilation albums of 30 audio tracks from 30 artists appear as 30 individual albums in my iTunes library. Most cumbersome.
I am also appauled in how it did not detect or support playback of FLAC audio. I am not willing to convert my entire library into a proprietary lossless audio format just because iTunes wants me to when other programs and I were getting along so well without iTunes and my 1st gen Nano.
Anyway, what I am hoping to achieve is to find a streamlined way to convert FLAC audio files into MP3 or AAC while I am transferring them to my iPod without having to involve another program to manually convert before adding. This is a huge convenience factor for which I am regretting having my 1st gen Nano replaced. I will admit that I am perhaps being overly stubborn here. Maybe I'll just sell this 6th gen Nano while it's still pristine and get a Sansa Clip or something. Apple products have become too stifling and I won't be surprised if there was no way to achieve what I am asking to do here, so maybe this ends up a being more of a rant than a search for answers.

foobar2000 with the ipod plugin will allow you to drag/drop FLAC files and when it syncs the ipod, it converts the FLAC files on the fly. MUCH better than dealing with the crappy iTunes interface and having to pre-convert the files. I absolutely loathe iTunes and it just gets worse and worse!

  • Curve 8900 & mp3 files?

Can someone who has a Blackberry Curve 8900 let me know whether or not one can listen to mp3 format files on it? (the curve 8900) as I might buy it if it does, thanks!  My sense from what I read on the product's description page is that it doesn't have the codec for mp3 but does for among other WAV files -it'd stick if I'd have to convert my mp3 files to WAV but I wouldn't have no gripe if I knew what I was getting myself into.

  • Lack of support for Curve 8900 and Storm in terms of theme builder

Searching hard for a workaround to be enable to export or even start creating theme with 480x360, as for now i always got back on the "wait for 4.7". But the customers are yelling now.
Second thing: Modify the media screen, as you may noticed, the media screen never changes regardless how the theme looks.
I wish you all a happy new year, make me happy to, and provide me with some useful content, so that i will be there at your place to support others.

  • HELP! Bluetooh file transfer to Curve 8900 Problem plz help!

I recently buyed a BB Curve 8900 phone and I am having a problem with Bluetooh. I can send files from my BB to another phone or my laptopp. But when it comes to receiving files on my BB the other device (From which the file is being sent) says Bluetooth connection failed. I tried to transfer file from a Nokia and a Sony Ericsson phone but they just cant send the file to my BB.Please help me ASAP. I have tried all the steps in the manual.

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
    See this KB:
KB05409 Transfer a file using Bluetooth technology between two BlackBerry smartphones
Substitute, in the KB, the appropriate instructions for your other device in place of the KB section for the sending device. Do not skip the "Receive Using BT" step on the receiving BB...nothing will transfer if you do.
Good luck and let us know!
