Flagged for follow up emails in my reminders?

The new reminders and flagged email system is great BUT I cannot see flagged emails set as reminders in Outlook to appear in my reminders list.  The process is:
- Email is sent out regarding a quote
- Flagged for follow up is created via a rule
- Flagged for follow up email is located in my tasks list in Outlook (Exchange Server)
- Email is flagged in the inbox of my iphone, but the reminder does not appear in my reminders list.
Does anyone have a suggestion for this?  I can get the reminder to show up from Outlook if nothing is attached to the reminder.
This is a gab I would really like to close up, because it will become a pain if I don't.  I essentially want to create list of emailed quotes to follow up on to appear in my reminders on my phone.
Thanks in advance for any help.

You obviously have never had a job that requires you to be in and out of meetings all day.  I can't tell you how many times my phone has gone off in a meeting b/c I forgot to take it out of my pocket and use the switch when the meeting starts (as the presenter it's even more embarrassing).  Even worse, times I have remembered to flip the switch, I have forgotten to flip it back after the meeting and end up missing calls for hours since sometimes I don't feel it vibrating.
Yes, I do attend a considerable number of meetings on a daily basis, and I, like EVERY ONE ELSE I KNOW, turns the phone to vibrate or slent during the course of meeting. The fact that you seem to struggle with this may well say more about you than the phone design. Being able to control your phone to prevent disruption is a pretty basic business skill.
The problem isn't that Apple didn't facilitate this feature, but that they lock any other apps out of creating this feature do to limited access to the iCloud Calendar.  The only way to get around this is to jailbreak.  I shouldn't have to adapt to taking the phone out of my pocket and flipping the switch before and after every meeting; the point of technology is to make life easier.  If Apple truly wants to continue becoming the corporate platform of choice, then these types of changes are not "a waste of time and overhead."
Yes, third party apps are locked from a considerable amount of interaction with the other apps and Os functions. It is one of the characteristics of the system that makes it relatively safe from malware and other intrusions. A far more important corporate feature than trying to completely dumb proof a phone.
It wasn't my intent to hijack this thread, but it was obviously your intent based on your thoughtless fanboy comment.
Is your intent to make your self sound ignorant? If so you are succeeding.
Tying back the original post to this same topic, almost every corporate environment relies on Exchange server, so the inability to sync the Outlook flags as reminders in iOS is also a glaring absence.  Has no one found a way to solve this?
I am connecting to Exchange and get my flags with no problem, regardless if they are set on Outlook on the PCor in the iOS mail app. Comms team here  recently polled everyone using Active Sync on mobile devices and found zero instances of issues with this within my company. That's several thousand users globally. Obviously it isn't a universal issue, and very likely has more to do with Exchange deployments than the operating system on the phones and iPads, probably an issue with Active directory, Active Sync or similar Exchange/IIS function. That means Microsoft is going to need to provide some guidance to Exchange server admins to resolve, and past history would indicate that will be very slow in coming.
In the meantime, there are work arounds such as using dedicated action folders; a third party app that allows settings priority, dues date, etc. within it (Boxer does this); One Note; or applying some basic mail management process (which would be a good idea anyway).

    Display All Marked / Flagged for Follow Up Emails Separately
    I was wondering, is there actually a way to display flagged emails in some sort of folder or separate view at least, as it is common within desktop mail applications and any other user interfaces from free email providers like Gmail, Yahoo!, or AOL and the likes?
    It's very complicated and not very user friendly to mark an email for follow up, because you need to decide at what point in the future you want to be reminded. When that day arrives and you're not ready to reply yet, you will have to go through each follow up email again and repeat those steps to re-mark them for a later date. And that is really annoying. Or am I missing something here?
    Can't I just simply mark my emails, like, star them in order to review them later and to be able to have a look at them from time to time, just like it is possible in other applications or in your browser?
    I have noticed that there is an option to star an email within a Gmail account, but I'm not quite convinced that they sync both ways properly anyway. Also, that feature doesn't come with all email services. For example, how would I star an email in my AOL account?
    I understand that BlackBerry is not based on IMAP and therefore has its limitations, however, it would be nice if there was another solution for this, or an explanation at least. It's simply impossible to go through hundreds and thousands of emails in order to find a flagged email.
    It's already a pain that the emails themselves won't sync (read/unread) with your desktop and other devices, but do you have any advice or workaround to improve the synchronization of flagging or starring?
    I have been using BlackBerrys for many years now, and I really still enjoy them, but the fact that it isn't based on IMAP is a big downside and no longer up to date. Times really have changed.
    Another thing: When I mark as follow up, the default time always seems to be 5 p.m. -- probably because the calendar day starts at 9 AM and ends at 5 PM by default. I thought changing the "day ends" option would do the trick and also change the default time for the reminder, unfortunately it isn't. Is there another way to change that, or will I have to set the time manually every time?
    Your help is very much appreciated.

  • Flag for Follow Up

    Does anyone know of a way to send a javamail message with a flag that functions similarly to the Outlook flags?
    In Outlook:
    New Message> Actions> Flag for Follow Up...

    Flags are specific to the mail store. This means that you cannot send a message and have the flag persist on the remote server.
    You can set the "priority" of a message by adding a header but that doesn't mean the client will do anything intersting with it.

  • Messages are flagged for follow-up, but the user didn't flag them.

    Hello All,
    I have two users who are complaining that messages they didn't flag are showing up as flagged in their To-Do bars.  The odd thing is that the flagged messages are only present if they are not in Cached mode, or if they check OWA.  Both users are
    also able to access a XenDesktop non-persistent virtual desktop, which presents Outlook in non-Cached mode.  When they access Outlook via XenDesktop, the erroneously flagged messages are present.  If they use Outlook in Cached mode, the messages
    don't appear on their To-Do bar.  Our organization doesn't permit PST files, so neither users has a PST.  One user mentioned that it he noticed it after he re-ordered some tasks in the To-Do bar by drag-and-drop.
    -Outlook 2007
    -Exchange 2010 SP3
    Multiple Internet searches have found no solutions, so I'm hoping someone in the community here will have an idea.
    Thanks!

    Hello,
    The flag is only an attribute for an email. If online mode and OWA show that the emails are flagged, it means the flag attribute is set to true on the Exchange mailbox.
    For this kind of issues, I will check:
    1. If the mailbox is shared with other users and the emails are flagged by them. (Any delegates)
    2. If there are any third-party add-ins on Outlook that may flagged the emails.

  • Public folder flagged items don't appear in For Follow Up search folder

    Exchange Server 2013, Outlook 2010 clients. I monitor a few Public Folders for our organization and items flagged for follow up don't appear in my For Follow Up search folder. What can be done?

    Search Folders do not search Public Folders.  You'd have to copy the item to your Mailbox, or create a Task in your Mailbox.

  • Marking outgoing emails for follow-up

    Hi,
    A lot of the email I send out are messages I need to follow up on at a later stage. Right now, my approach is to review my outbox every week and then read every message I sent to catch up on any developments (yay for 'organize by conversation') and either archive if case closed or follow up. It's a bit tedious and requires me to read a lot of messages I shouldn't have to. It also means that in some cases I am sitting with somebody in my team and I'll miss an opportunity to check on status because I haven't added the issue to my 'to do' app yet.
    What I'm looking for is this ...
    While I'm composing a new message or writing a response to an existing message, I want to be able to mark this message for follow-up.
    Here is what I've done so far ...
    I know I can mark a message with a flag after it has been sent. But those are a significant number of added clicks and not a very elegant solution.
    Same goes for tools like MailHub, which let me mark emails after they have been sent.
    I've considered writing a script that gets triggered upon email send, popping up a dialog asking to flag the message or not. With Mail Act-On, I can run scripts that way. Better, but could get rather annoying quite quickly.
    I've found MailTags, but it slows down Mail and the horrid user interface makes my eyes hurt.
    And while the keynote showing off Mavericks had me hoping the tags would be in Mail too, I installed the beta and it seems there is no tag support included in Mail. I guess one can hope it will get added before final release, but I am thinking it will not be.
    I'm sure I'm not the only person who faces this situation.
    Any recommendations?
    cheers,
    Rob

  • TS4083 Is there a way or a setting my folders in Mail to automatically update across all devices? if I transfer an email to a folder for follow-up on my PC, my folder in Mail on my iPhone doesn't update until I actually go into the folder and update manua

    Is there a way (or a setting) for my individual folders in Mail to automatically update across all devices? For example, if I transfer an email to a folder for follow-up on my PC - say 10th of the following month - the same folder in Mail on my iPhone doesn't update until I actually go into the folder and update manually.  Interestingly though, if I create a new folder on any of my devices they automatically appear on the other devices so it is just the actual contents that I am referring to here.  Appreciate any help or guidance.
    Regards
    Justin

    You can turn mail off in the settings but then you can't use it for anything, including the "test" that you want to perform.
    Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars>Account Name>Mail>Off. That totally turns off the mail account.
    As long as mail is turned on and you launch the app, it will look for an download new mail.

  • (Bold 9900 - BBOS 7.1) Is there a way to automatically add reminder alert when flagging a message for follow-up?

    I love the feature in Outlook that lets me flag a message for follow-up and automatically adds a default reminder at the end of the day. Is this something I can configure my Blackberry 9900 to do (running 7.1)?
    As far as I can tell, when I flag something for follow-up, it adds a flag but does NOT add any reminder alerts. If I want to do that, I then need to manually add the reminder and set it (which is a little cumbersome).

    I guess timed message is on the wish list
    However in all my forms I use following scenario to validate all data entry at one time and then submit...
    I use regular button and add code in Click event
    JS example.....
    var errorFlag = 0;
    var errorMsg = "";
    if (validation expression 1) {
         //true/pass
         //no need to change following values
         errorFlag = errorFlag;
         errorMsg = errorMsg;
    }else {
        //false/fail
       //set the flag and message accordingly
        errorFlag = errorFlag + 1;
        errorMsg = errorMsg + "validation message1" + "\n"; //\n for new line with in the message
    if (validation expression 2) {
         //true/pass
         //no need to change following values
         errorFlag = errorFlag;
         errorMsg = errorMsg;
    }else {
        //false/fail
       //set the flag and message accordingly
        errorFlag = errorFlag + 1;
        errorMsg = errorMsg + "validation message2" + "\n"; //\n for new line with in the message
    //finally
    if (errorFlag > 0) {
        //>0 indicates there are one or more errors
        xfa.host.message(""+errorMsg);//display all messages at one time
        exit; //now since there are validation errors you can stop processing further and exit the event
    //add submit code......here....

    I'm trying to update the certificate for my Exchange Email Account...Dell had me delete the account, install the new certificate on my phone, and set up the email again...But it still won't work and acts like it can't find/use the new cert.  Any suggestions besides a hard resest of the phone?

    That's a great question, LSchmitz!
    Is the e-mail account on your cell phone? Which device? If its on your phone, an Exchange e-mail, may need to be provisioned/ set up by your employer/ IT department.

    Sometimes deleting the account and then re-creating it can solve this issue
    Write down all the information in accounts before doing this
    Highlight the account on the left and click the minus button
    Then click the plus button to add the new account and follow the prompts

  • Follow up email creates a interaction record in business context area

    Hi experts,
    We have just upgraded system to 7.0. here we are facing a problem when we create a service order and save it.then we go to inbox and search for the service order->create afollow up activity->go to the action and send a follow up email.
    Now as per requirement: once we send the follow up email it should appear in the business context area with status "out email"
    but here once we send the email another interaction record is getting created in business context area and when we click on the interaction record we have the email with status"sent email" in the activity clipboard.
    even If we go to SOST t.code we find the email which was sent is listed here.
    if anyone has faced similar issue kindly suggest.
    Thanking you in advance,

    Hi Joaquin ,
    I have already gone through Notes  669072 scenario 1 and all teh customising is maintained properly.
    The main issue is as per requirement when we send the follow up email it should not create a new interaction record and the sent email should appear in the business context area.

  • Follow-up email triggered on email campaign click

    I am wondering if it is possible for a follow-up email campaign to be triggered once someone has clicked a link in the previous email.
    For example, I want to send out an email to subscribers of an email campaign, with a link to an informative webinar. I then would like only those that have opened the email, and preferably clicked the link, to be sent a follow-up email (a day or 2 later) with extra contextual information that assumes they have watched the video.
    My needs are not limited to this example, but hopefully you get the idea.
    How might I go about doing this?

    Hi Dayle,
    You can't trigger campaigns based on a user's interaction with the e-mail content itself, if it points externally, but you could try to redirect the user to a BC page where you could auto subscribe him to a "follow-up mailing list" before redirecting to the video itself, as per your scenario (or having the video embedded there). In regards to enabling the webform to properly autosubmit the apropriate information, you could build the link by this pattern: http://yourBCwebsite.com/landingpage?email={module_emailaddress}&fullname={module_fullname}. This way the url will be different per each user clicking it, but it will point to the same page. On that page you can prepopulate the subscribe form fields with {module_url,email} and {module_url,fullname}
    Kind Regards,
    Alex

  • Looking for a particular email

    I have Mail backed up to TM as well as an external drive. I am looking for a particular email that has been backed up. I moved the particular mailbox from each of these drives to my desktop. They are .imapmbox files and would like to import these messages into Mail as a separate disposable folder.
    On the desktop they are #.emix files which are not easy to search.
    How to do this?
    Thanks

    I'm not sure. I know you can import mail stored locally by opening Mail and selecting Import from the File menu. Select the Apple Mail option then follow directions. A file Open dialog will appear and you must navigate to the /Users/username/Library/Mail/ folder and select the Mailboxes folder. If your mail is there then you can select the mailbox and import it. However, this does not work for IMAP accounts. Make a copy of the .mbox file that should have your mail. Again select Import from Mail's File menu. Select the bottom option to import .mbox mail and follow directions.
    Imported mail will appear in a separate sidebar header called Imported Mail.
