Flagging modified files for uploading later

Is there any way in Dreaweaver 8 to flag or mark files that
have been modified and are ready to be uploaded?
With large updates, there may be dozens of files in dozens of
different folders, all of which must be uploaded at once but which
may take many dates to create/modify. In a team environment, many
other files may have been changed in the same timeframe, for other
unrelated changes.
It seems silly to have to keep paper or external logs of
changed/new files in a project. Is there a mod or add-in that
allows files to be ticked/flagged/marked as being part of a
particular upload batch?

Hi John,
Unfortunately, the Edit > Select options won't work well
for us, as they will still pick up not only the files I have
added/changed, but also those of all the other team members. Also,
they cannot distinguish between completed files and work in
progress.
No, we are not using Check In/Check Out. We have discussed
it, but our network and server environment is quite complex and it
just won't work for us. Our local machines are in danger of being
wiped at any time to rectify a problem (we are on a standard
operating environment). We have three servers for the internet
(development, test and production) and four for the intranet
(development, test, production and live - oddly enough). This means
that when we finish changes in dev, we PUT them to test, not to
production/live. At the moment, the only real way we have to track
completed work is PUTting the files to test. All files in test
which are different from production can be sent live. But it's not
an ideal situation.
Overwriting is a real issue for us. There are, of course,
many common pages. When working on any page, there is likely to be
a common index page and common includes also involved, that could
be being modified by someone else. When we were all in one
workspace, it was easy to communicate. Now we are split over two
workspaces and it's much harder to know who is working on what.
We'd like to add some kind of version control system, but
they all require changes to our server structures to operate
effectively. Our servers are shared with three other departments,
so they are very difficult to change.
