Flas 8 video encoder problem
I have the encoder installed on two machines. On one machine
it won't run because it can't install itself it says which seems to
be a fairly common problem. On my other machine it does run!!!!
<G> Anyway, I have tried encoding 7 different wmv files and
they all successfully encode (at least I don't get any errors. When
I try to play them on my machine the flash player starts up but all
I get is a white screen with no movie. Anywone have any
thoughts?

I and up getting ZIP of the encoder from a friend because
multiple unistall, reinstall
did not help.
Happen second time on my laptop, I got fed up and try to fix
it, can't reproduce the steps
but basically I remove QT player and Flash 8. Reinstall QT
first, than Follow by flash 8.
Tried that 4 or 5 times and eventually it start to work.
You can always use it from the program, it works within flash
File - import - import video
than pick the video and go to Progress Download From the
server.
Flash will generated the FLV automatically.

Flash 8 Video Encoder problems
I used Video Encoder to convert a .mpg file. When I imported
it into Flash the audio plays but no picture. I then used IMtoo
MPEG 3 encoder to convert it to an MPEG file. This time I got
picture and audio but the picture and audio were very choppy.
Does anyone have a clue why? Or perhaps suggest another app
that will convert the file to another format that I would have
better success converting to .flv without degradation?

I uploaded the MPG file and I also uploaded a directory with
the flash files (and a sample FLV file that works). I also tried
converting some other video clips that I have and they all worked
-- so I don't think it is the Flash player.
However, when I received the .MGP file (that I uploaded to
you) from a vendor (who videos for a speaker's bureau) and
converted it to a FLV file using Video Encoder 8. and then renamed
it to motif_200kbps.flv in order to have it play in the video
player template that I uploaded to you.... I got sound, but no
video. Regarding posting the video file that I uploaded to you, I
am unsure of the consequences of that ... so perhaps I will email
the file to Jeckyl.
Now I am really confused, because the file
"motif_200kbps.flv" works fine for me - video and sound are there.
Are you using Flash Player 8 or 9 to view the final SWF? If you are
using Flash player 7 then there is your problem. -
In the last two weeks, any 4:3 quicktime video file I import to iDVD 5 gets encoded with small black bars at top and bottom of screen. It's not letterboxing, the black bars are too small. Video image is noticeably "squeezed." Quicktime files originated in FCP as well as iMovie.
Strangely, the menu is encoded in proper 4:3 format with no squeeze and no black bars.
Problem is apparent both in the software DVD player and on set-top DVD playback with televisions.
Have been using idvd 5 for same function for a year and a half with no problems. Tried reinstalling iDVD, that didn't fix it.
Dual G5 Mac OS X (10.4.5)There are three Quicktime video files I'm working
with. One originated from VHS, one from BetacamSP,
and one from a broadcast DV camcorder.
All three files display and play properly in
Quicktime player. Once in iDVD, all three files have
the same black bars at the top and bottom.
I'm not surprised you see black at the top and bottom of the analog video - that's where analog syncronization information 'hides' which is the reason for TV set overscan. -
Encoding a Flash Video - Video noise problem in a few areas - any way to fix ?
Hello All;
I posted a question to the Flash Video encoder forum but only got 1 read after the entire day so i figured it was not visited often so I'm posting my question in this area which I hope gets more traffic.
I am desperately trying to encode a video using the Flash Media encoder. I am starting out with a pristine-looking quicktime file. I have two versions - a 720 X 480 version, and a version 1/2 that resolution. When I perform the encoding even with the best quality, a few of the objects in the scene exhibit some video noise (Not sure if that's what you'd call it). I have attached a video (See below) that I'm trying to encode that has the problem. The problem occurs very early in the video - probably 15-30 seconds in or less so it will not take long for you to see it. Take a look at the American Flag on the astronaut's flightsuit and see if you can explain what is causing this and more importantly, is there anything I can do to prevent this video noise in a few of the on-screen objects ?
Video is at this link ... http://www.dedula.net/lfsemaa/longfellow%20ael%20dedication.html
Thanks a lot for any help and advice you can priovide.
TimIf you know the name of the Event where the clips are stored, try this:
Quit iMovie. Go to Mac HD > Users > (your home folder) > Movies > iMovie Events > (find the Event folder name that matches).
Drag that folder first to the Desktop, moving it out of the iMovie Events folder
Now download a program called MPEG Streamclip. The idea here is you will attempt to convert the videos in that Event Folder into a format iMovie uses natively to edit, and display video accurately down to the 1/30th of a second inside of iMovie.
Launch MPEG Streamclip. Now go into the Events folder you moved to the Desktop, drag one of the video clips from that Event folder into the open application window in Streamclip.
Question #1: Does the video playback in Streamclip when you move the playhead back and forth or simply click the play button?
If it does, then go to the File Menu > Export to QuickTime... In the settings window click on the pulldown menu and for Compression: choose Apple Intermediate Codec. And for the frame rate type in 30:
Then click Make Movie, save it to a new folder on your desktop. Convert each on of the clips in that Events folder using this method. Saving it each time into a the same folder.
Once you have your clips converted, quit Streamclip, now open iMovie. Import your newly converted clips into a new Event Folder in iMovie and see if they react differently than before. You should have thumbnails and be able to skim the clips without any difficulty now. -

when I tried to run the Macromedia Flash 8 Vedio Encoder for the

Problem in Flash CS3 video Encoder
Hi,
I am experiencing a bug in the Flash CS3 Video encoder. I
have saved an XML file with settings that I will be using for
numerous video. I have basically set the Data Rate, Frame Rate, Key
Frame Interval, Audio and Video Size. The frame rate is set to
14.98.
When I load the profile that I have saved, the frame rate
stays at 14.98, but if i hit ok, and then click on the settings
again to modify them, the frame rate goes to 'same as source' and
does not stay at 14.98. If I change the frame rate to 14.98 at this
point, it sticks. My question is, why does it go to 'same as
source', and it concerns me, that if I do not manually go in and
change the settings back to 14.98, is it encoding the video at its
current frame rate.
Here is the XML file I use for encoding:It appears that the <FrameRate></FrameRate> node
is only saved to the XML file if you choose something other than
"Same as source". However, it's always a non-standard value.
Evidently, if you are creating your own <FrameRate> value in
a custom XML setting file, you need to multiply the frame rate by
65536. For example, if you want 24 fps in the profile, your XML
should look like the code snippet below. -
Flash Video Encoder Installation Problem
Using Windows XP.
The Flask Video Encoder has not properly/completely installed
on my machine. Trying to do a repair, I get to a dialog that
directs
Please install the disk: 1
I assume it's asking for me to put a disk in the CD drive,
but I can't figure which one. I have the education version of Adobe
Creative Suite 2 Premium which came with Studio 8. There are two
Studio 8 disks (intuitively named "Disk 1 of 2" and "Disk 2 of 2")
and a number of Creative Suite disks. I've tried both studio 8
disks, and disk one of the Creative Suite disks. No help.
Any suggestions?

Firefox will not play WebM video encoded by Sorenson Squeeze Pro 8
A short video encoded to WebM using Sorenson Squeeze Pro 8.0.48. Chrome and Opera play the HTML5 webm video with a problem. Firefox 10.0.1 and 11 just display a dimmed window with and "X" in the middle and will not load or play anything. Sorenson is a commercially proven product as confirmed by Chrome and Opera, so what gives with Firefox?
We have just completed our webm testing with Telestream's Episode Pro 6.2.1.1 and not surprisingly, the same results as Sorenson Squeeze Pro 8.
Chrome, Opera and Safari browsers play HTML5 webm video as expected.
Firefox rigidly enforces the server .htaccess configuration to specifically state Mime Types, then it will/does work. -
Hi,
i hope someone can help me.
When i make flv file in Video Encoder (3 min) i see the
process i the window.
But when i open Flash and Browse the flv file it stop after 1
min.
I have make this before but now it´s problems.
Whats wrong?
Bets Regards
L G BlomIf you want to batch encode FLV files on a server (not
necessarily via a web UI), I'd recommend Sorenson Squeeze. You can
create batch jobs with watch folders. It works nicely. I believe
you can do the same thing with On2 Flix Pro too. You'll get better
quality out of these products as well. -
How video encoder continunously
Hello everyone!
I have a ADSP BF533 EZ kit lite and labview embedded for blackfin 2.5 module. I would connect Analog video input(composite video) and capture video frame then display on the my car GPS navigation with A/V input by running Videoecho example.
I was successful to build this example and i can see video displaying on the navigation. But something i would know more:
1. the video displayed is not continunously. I can see when i reduce the time delay for display it can change displaying faster. but it alway dispeared a blank frame before starting new frame.
2. I am thinking that mean when Video Encoder actived, Video decoder was not actived? Am i right?. I want to display continunously the video. how i can do?
3. Could i add any image processing algorithm in catched frame buffer then redisplay on the display?.
Here is code for pepople viewing.
Thank you so much for attention and please post your idea if it is possible!

It is me again!
I would like to ask anybody that can i use BF_VideoEcoder(decoder)_enable(disable) for ADSP BF537 EZ kit lite. And can i config PPI0 for decoder and PPI1 for Encoder by using AV EZ extender board? beacause ADSP BF533 has only one PPI so that is might be the reason in my above post.
I have ever test with VideoEcho example for ADSP BF537 EZ kit lite by creating new project and config hardware for BF537 EZ kit lite and copy code to new VI and modify LED on/off control VIs for BF537. but te video out but dit not apeared.
Could anybody help me to solve this problem?
Thank you very much! -
I'm trying to convert a 4.5 minute *.avi to *.flv and am
having some difficulty. Flash Video Encoder says I have about 15.5
hours remaining (am 0.5 hours into the process). That seems wholly
unreasonable given the fact that it took me all of maybe 5 minutes
to save it as an XviD-encoded *.avi with VirtualDub...
Any ideas as to how I can speed this up?I'm having a similar problem - but my issue has to do with
why the time to encode on my Mac Pro is slower than on my
associate's Power Mac G5.
I'm using the Flash 8 Video Encoder to convert .mov files to
flv files on a group license. On my station I have the following:
Hardware Overview:
Model Name: Mac Pro
Model Identifier: MacPro1,1
Processor Name: Dual-Core Intel Xeon
Processor Speed: 2.66 GHz
Number Of Processors: 2
Total Number Of Cores: 4
L2 Cache (per processor): 4 MB
Memory: 12 GB
Bus Speed: 1.33 GHz
Boot ROM Version: MP11.005C.B08
SMC Version: 1.7f10
I've got 151 GB available on my system drive.
Presently, it is taking me approximately 2 hours 45 minutes
to convert a 6 minute 26 sec mov to a flv with custom settings of:
Max Date Rate: 300 kbps
Frame Rate: Same as Source
Audio Data Rate: 48 kbps (mono)
500 x 333 pixels.
HOWEVER, on an associate's computer he is able to convert
under the same specs, same files, etc. in 1 hour 40 minutes.
His computer specs are:
Power Mac G5
Processor Speed - 2.3 GHz
2-CPU's
L2 Cache - 1 mb per CPU
Memory - 16 GB
Bus Speed 1.15 GHz
My computer has much more powerful processor, so we're
confused why it's taking longer on my computer.
I also have a second internal drive but presently the
programs and source file are on my system HD. Someone suggested
that I should try to make sure that the Video Encoder has max RAM
allocated to it as well as having the scratch disk and cache set to
the second internal drive. I don't know how to do this or even if
it's possible but looking for advice and suggestions on how to
better optimize the Video Encoder and would appreciate any help
with this ASAP.
Thanks! -
MPG to FLV prob using Flash video encoder

Today I converted a MPG file to FLV.
The original MPG video worked fine, the FLV file played sound
but no picture....any ideas ?Hi,
I have this problem too - I have converted wma files and mpg4 to flv. The encoder does not error but when I play the FLV there is audio but no picture. I am using Windows XP. Is there a solution to this issue? -
CS3 Flash Video Encoder no sound
I have been using the Macromedia Flash FLV encoder for a very
long time, but now that I have upgraded to the CS3 Flash Video
Encoder the video gets encoded but the audio is always missing.
All my settings are the same as they always were and when I
encode an AVI to FLV the audio is missing. How do I fix
this?I to am having the same problem with the flash encoder. Added
a wmv file and a mov file to the queue and I get the same results.
I do however see the first frame of the movies. Cannot set in and
out points because the first frame displays while scrubbing.

Flash Video Encoder - Sizing Video
Hello
I have an uncompressed video at 720x486. I need to encode it
to Flash video at 640x480. When I import it into Flash Video
Encoder, I use the custom settings to output a 640x480 movie at
30fps and 550kbps using the VP6 codec.
Flash video outputs a 720x486 movie.
What am I doing wrong?
http://www.dorseygraphics.com/forumphotos/flashvideo.png
Thanks,
---------------------SI've never had a problem with videos not being resized... and
many times
I've made video thumbnails. How are you determining the
output is incorrect
anyway? I'd guess it is your method that is wrong - if the
encoder did not
resize properly this question would come up daily...and it
doesn't.
