Flash 10.1 not working in Firefox 3.6.6

I have been trying to get video to play in Firefox after downloading and installing 10.1 last weekend.  Sites like ESPN3, Hulu, CBS, USA, Daily Show, etc. no longer work.  Everything will load any commercials play then the player sits there and does nothing.  Other sites that need it seem to work fine, like Mafia Wars on FB.  I have gone through all the online help on Adobe's site and followed some of the forums discussions that were similar and none of it has helped, except that I did successfully install it for IE8 32 bit (and it is working fine).
My laptop is running Vista Home Premium 64 bit, Firefox version 3.6.6, AVG version 9.0.839, Flash Player version WIN 10,1,53,64.
Any ideas?

The FlashPlayerTrust folder contains 2 files:  EACoreTrust.cfg and rpconverter.cfg
The grayed out button says Movie Not Loaded.  I just checked YouTube and the same thing happens.  Nothing plays, so I can't click after the flash starts.  I have left sites sitting for 10 minutes to see if it starts, but it doesn't.
I am not using AdBlocker on FF, and the pop-up blocker in IE is turned off.
I am using CA Security Suite.  I've been using it since 2008, get it free as part of my RoadRunner subscription.  I see no add-ons on either FF or IE.
As I said, everything worked fine before the update, earlier in the spring I believe.  There was an update to FF this morning, I was hoping it would address the issue, but there is no difference.
I really appreciate all the assistance you're giving me.
Thanks

Just wanted to add, when I go to the Adobe sites to check, the Shockwave Player animation works for both browsers, but the Flash animation does not work for either one.

  • Adobe flash player does not work on Firefox, but does on Wind Exp

I have reinstalled Adobe Flash Player many times and also reinstalled Firefox, but flash player does not work. Every tim I try to play something it tells me to install the latest version of flash player. Flash player works fine on on Windows Explorer

IE uses a different version of Flash (ActiveX) than other browsers use, you need to install the Plugin version of Flash.
1.Download the Flash setup file from here: <br />
    [http://fpdownload.adobe.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player.exe Adobe Flash - Plugin version]. <br />
Save it to your Desktop.<br />
    2. Close Firefox using File > Exit <br />
then check the Task Manager > Processes tab to make sure '''firefox.exe''' is closed, <br />
    {XP: Ctrl+Alt+Del = Processes tab}
    3. Then run the Flash setup file from your Desktop.

  • Flash Web Gallery not working in Firefox

I am having problems getting the following site working in Firefox, although it works fine in IE.
    http://www.starmooseglamour.net
I initially had the \bin\images\ issue so I implemented Sean's suggested fixes:
    http://forums.adobe.com/message/1391286#1391286
    http://forums.adobe.com/message/1947131#1947131
The folder structure is now as it should be and both HTML and Flash versions work off-line and in IE, but in Firefox the site hangs at the Loading Images stage. I have done a thorough search of this and other forums but can't find a solution.
    Many thanks,
    Adrian

    Hi again,
Adrian, I am not sure if this is your situation, but I think my issue is with the folder structure of my web hosting account, though why it works in IE but not FF is still a mystery.
I focused only on the SimpleViewer gallery, as it didn't use the "bin" folder in its structure, as the default flash gallery does. Adrian, I wasn't sure from reading your post, but were you able to modify your default flash gallery engine to not use the bin structure?? If so, could you let me know, please? I can give it a try.
I uploaded to my redlineart.com redlineart.com/fltestsimple1 account, a Shaw account http://members.shaw.ca/kgamadia/fltestsimple1/, and exported locally to my hard drive to manually upload.
All sets had the same folder structure. When run in Firefox from everywhere, the only failure occurred on redlineart.com. My web log files show a 403 error when accessing the images (for the gallery). However, when I right click on the image and elect to open in a new window, it works. Permissions on the folder are standard 755.
The difference is that redlineart.com/fltestsimple1 translates to http://titan.arandomserver.com/MyAccountID/fltestsimple1/, but LR uploads to <home>/public_html/fltestsimple1. So the paths that the flash gallery engine is using is what I think is the issue. Internet explorer, loads redlineart.com/fltestsimple1 just fine, but fails to access it via http://titan.arandomserver.com/MyAccountID/fltestsimple1/. The HTML galleries work across the board, so for now I'll stick with them.
I hope this was clear enough. If there are any suggestions, I am able to try things out. Thanks in advance.

  • Flash player 10 Not working with firefox Please Help

I have posted here before and for some reason flash player is still not working.  I haven't been able to get on any of my fb games because of this.  When I go to
play any games it loads the pic then it fades to a white screen, when Ieft click on the mouse it shows a grey box that states Movie not loaded or Adobe flash player 10.
Here is some of the files from my Macromedia
    FlashInstall
    flashplayer.xpt
    FlashUtil10l_Plugin
    NPSWF32.dll
    FlashUtil10k_ActiveX.dll
If you have any suggestion please help it would be greatly appreciated.

I'm not sure if you will receive this, Tonyae, but my ability to reply in
that thread appears to have been disabled.  It says below that I can reply
to this email and you will get it so hopefully that's true.
I don't know how or why, but things are working again for me.  I uninstalled
/ reinstalled Firefox and Flash countless times.  I disabled Java, which
someone had suggested in another thread.  Nothing was working.  I had
restarted Firefox after every installation, but all of my attempts were
futile.  Finally, I restarted my laptop and it worked - I can finally watch
videos on my computer again.  (I know I should have tried that much earlier
in the process.) Very relieving to say the least.  I'm sorry you're still
having trouble because I know how frustrating it was.
If you receive this, I know I haven't offered much but I would highly
recommend restarting your computer after every change you make.  Keep
plugging away and one of them will hopefully work.  Good luck!

  • Test Flash Player animation not working in Firefox

Flash demos at the following link are not working for me on Firefox, but work fine in Chrome & Safari:  Adobe - Flash Player
I have also gotten an error on Tumblr that Flash wasn't installed. I tested it in safe-mode, when 33.02 was the latest as this is an old problem, & also tested with the latest release version 34.0.5.
This screenshot shows what i see on the Adobe Flash test page - just this dark red color fill, no animation: http://oi61.tinypic.com/2r5ten6.jpg
(Same exact image/animation with Flash 16.0.0.235)
on Chrome/Safari i see this in an animation: http://oi62.tinypic.com/2qdsm13.jpg
i tried uninstalling Flash using these instructions, rebooted, reinstalled, and no change:
    http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/uninstall-flash-player-mac-os.html

yup, you're right. i just installed Firefox for the first time on an old laptop and the test animation plays fine. I did test it in safe mode though, which disables add-ons and the problem still happened, so it must be a lower level issue.  this is probably causing other problems with Flash for me all over the web. i'll try the uninstall/reinstall first when i have a chance. hopefully that works. if not, then i guess i'll have to create a new profile.
    thanks

  • Flash video has not worked with Firefox browser for years. When will you fix this?

Anyone who uses Firefox browser (for Windows or for Mac) knows that flash video playback ceased working sometime around Firefox ver 13 and has not worked since.
The Mozilla people say it is Adobe's fault - instead of fixing Firefox.
They say roll back to Adobe Flash version 10.
This solves the video problem, but then, any other services that depend on the latest Flash build, quit working properly.
This situation leaves millions of Firefox users in perpetual frustration. We can't use our browser of choice to view any web video built with Flash.
This is so unacceptable. I am unable to understand why Adobe and Firefox don't get together and iron out whatever code incompatibility is causing this.
I would really like to hear Adobe's explanation for this.

Uh... I don't know what planet you posted this from, but Flash video has worked flawlessly with Firefox for hundreds of millions of users here on earth, without any gaps since Firefox was still called Mozilla.
For the record, I have Firefox 28 with Flash Player 13 installed on:
    WIndows XP (SP3-64bit)
    Windows Vista Ultimate (SP2-64bit)
    Windows 7 Ultimate (SP1-64bit)
    Windows 8 Enterprise (64bit-2 machines)
    Windows 8.1 Enterprise (64 bit)
    OS 0.6.8 Server
    OS10.7.5
    OS10.8.5
    OS10.9.2
And I've had Firefox with Flash Player since 2003 on both OS formats. I've never had a compatibility problem.
I also use Chrome, IE, Opera, Safari and a few other browsers you probably never heard of (like SeaMonkey, Maxthon, Waterfox, iCab, OmniWeb)... Flash works in all of them.
I'd have to say the problem is with your system specifically, because if it was a Firefox/Flash compatibility problem, there would have been hundreds of millions of complaints about it, for over a decade. That... just isn't the case.

  • Flash 10.1 not working on Firefox 3.6.8

I have Windows 7 64bit Ultimate; just clean installed today. I was in the process of putting all my programs and stuff back and wanted to put flash back. I started off with installing Flash for IE and that worked well and youtube videos are fine. I then installed firefox 3.6.8 and installed flash with the DLM etc. The flash animation that first comes up lagged so I went to youtube to test it and the video lags but the sound is fine. I tried disabling hardware acceleration but that didn't work. I disabled all my addons and that didn't help. Only when I disabled and reenabled the flash plugin did it work but I restarted firefox and it did the same thing.
I then installed Flash 10 and it worked fine. So how could I get Flash 10.1 working on my firefox since I already have IE running 10.1?
    Thanks for reading.

Hi Vinny, LOL, I had the right thread, just the wrong link!! I was on several sites researching and that google link was one of them but didn't intend to post it to you:-)

On that FF, I couldn't find anything helpful on the forum there. I think I'll look elsewhere.

  • Flash Player Check Not Working In Firefox?

    Hello,
As of today, checking my Flash Player version on the Flash Player Help page gives me this: http://i.imgur.com/fTRMR4l.png, when it would usually tell me if my version was up to date, and what version I have.
The Shockwave Help page works just fine, and the Flash Player Help page works fine in Chrome.
I have tried resetting Firefox, updating Firefox, and using Firefox in Safe Mode, with no fix. So what's going on?

    @Gnospen
Took a look at my about:addons page to see if it was set on "Ask to Activate", and it wasn't set to that. It was set on "Always Activate", as you can see here: http://i.imgur.com/tAmvj36.png
Am I looking on the correct page, or is there another page I should be looking at?

  • Flash Player is NOT working in Firefox

I have installed Flash Player recently on Windows 7. It is working properly i.e. playing vidoes on IE & Chrome but not in Firefox. I have updated both Flash Player & Firefox but it is still not playing any videos. Please solve this for me.

Probably not adobe related. I've posted another question as I think the issue is just with one particular web site.
I've refreshed, uninstalled/reinstalled firefox and plugins twice.

  • Adobe Flash 10.3 not working with Firefox 17.0.1

I need to use Adobe Flash 10.3 for certain reasons and it was working just fine until today, when my Firefox updated itself to 17.0.1. Now, anytime I visit a web site with Flash (YouTube and others) the area where the video is supposed to be is blank. Any ideas?

There is a conflict with Flash Block and Firefox 17.0.1 update watching videos on Facebook.
One has to disable Flash Block extension now with this new FF update, whereas this problem did not occur prior to the Firefox update and recent Flash Player update.
The problem is limited to the Firefox 17.0.1 update/Flash Player 11.5 update/and videos on Facebook interface.
My system is Mac OS 10.6.8. iMac desktop.
Would appreciate a notice if Firefox finds a fix for this.

  • FLASH 10.1 NOT WORKING WITH FIREFOX PLEASE HELP

I am trying to load some of my games on fb it loads then the contents fades away and there is a grey box that says movie not loaded. and Adobe FLash 10.  This has been happening for at least a week.  I have being pulling my hair out trying to fix it.  So I need your help. I have read some of the threads and none seems to work.  Here is some info abot my computer
    I am running
    Windows Vista 32bit
My browser is Firefox 3.6.8 32bit
Installed is flash 10.182.76  I do see the animation so I know it's installed correctly .  Please help I will greatly appreciate it

Hi, Just got my Internet connection back! Without knowing what add ons/plugins/extensions you have in FF, it is difficult
for me to say what else may be conflicting.
Other than that, your choices are either Uninstall 3.6.10 and Install a version that wasn't giving you a problem. You could Install the FF beta.
Mozilla has a list of many extensions that conflict with FF if you want that link to look over. One of the other links has to do with other issues that may be helpful.
Let me know and I'll post those to you.
    Thanks,

  • My upgraded flash drive is not working in Firefox

While in Firefox, all video files are requesting that I upgrade my flash drive. I have done so a dozen times and it does not seem to do anything. While on Mozilla it seems to work fine. is there something I need to do in Firefox to make it work?
    Thank you

I assume that when you say "flash drive", you are referring to Adobe Flash Player. Go to this website: http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=tn_15507
and see what version it says you have. It should say version 10,0,22,87 which is the latest version available. If it still doesn't work, download the [Flash Player Uninstaller|http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=tn_14157] and uninstall the flash plugin. Then restart your computer and reinstall Flash.

  • Flash 10.3 not working with Firefox 6

Up until today, I've never had any problems with Firefox and Flash Player.
However, all of a sudden, Flash won't work for me, today.
I've already uninstalled Firefox, uninstalled Flash Player, re-installed Firefox (Windows 7) and re-installed Flash Player 10.3. I already checked to ensure the Flash Plug-in is enabled and updated.
Anyone have any idea what is going on here?
edit: since the original posting, I also ran a malware scan (found no infections) and also cleared the cache. No change in my situation; still same original problem.

It seems the problem was related to the "NoScript" extension. For whatever reason, without my knowledge, "NoScript" started blocking all Adobe Flash. I only discovered that by chance, when I went to: Add-ons >> Extensions >> NoScript Options >> Embeddings, and found the "forbid Adobe Flash" box checked.
I toggled that box to off, and everything started working fine again.
I've been using Firefox, NoScript, and Flash all for a while, through several version updates of these products, and never had this problem before. I don't know why it happened, but it sure was annoying.
Anyways, fixed now. I hope my experience helps someone else get a faster solution to the same problem.

  • Flash player does not work with Ie or Firefox with win 8.1?

Flash player does not work with Ie or Firefox with win 8.1 64, If i try and play a video I get the message to install Flashplayer.
If I try and install it it says it is already installed. Your onsite  installer says it is not applicable to my machine.
I have followed all the normal steps re enabling addons and active filters etc.
all to no avail Pc is Dell 6 months old, Flashplayer has never worked on this machine. Last MS update mid Dec 2014.
    Version of flashplayer is 15....03.......

Flash Player is a built-in component of Internet Explorer.  There's nothing separate to download or install.
Firefox requires a different version of Flash Player (the NPAPI plug-in), which will be served to you if you go here: http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer using Firefox; however, there are some unique stability issues related to Firefox on Win8.1, and you're probably better off using Google Chrome if you want a more optimal experience with Flash Player.
For problems where IE isn't being detected by sites that require Flash:
First, confirm that ActiveX Filtering is configured to allow Flash content:
    https://forums.adobe.com/thread/867968
Internet Explorer 11 introduces a number of changes both to how the browser identifies itself to remote web servers, and to how it processes JavaScript intended to target behaviors specific to Internet Explorer. Unfortunately, this means that content on some sites will be broken until the content provider changes their site to conform to the new development approach required by modern versions of IE.
You can try to work around these issues by using Compatibility View:
    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/internet-explorer/use-compatibility-view#ie=ie-11

  • Flash drag and drop not working on Firefox for android browser

Drag and drop functionality is not working using Firefox Browser for Android on tablet. We tested with flash action script 2.0 & 3.0 content, both have same issue. Specs of the tab and OS are as follows.
    Android - Kitkat 4.4.2
    Tab models - Lenovo A7600H and Samsung Tab4 T531
Please refer to a previous case raised on the same issue here at this link (Case 1029615) - https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1029615
Additionally, we observed that the object on which Drag and Drop event was triggered, is moving little bit when we double tap.
Does Firefox provide any libraries to support Drag and Drop functionality on Flash? We are using Geekoview api to execute flash content in our app. Will the same support be provided in Geekoview as well?
Are there other folks facing the same issue? Is there a solution or workaround to get this feature running?

Flash on Android is no longer supported by Adobe. While Firefox does support basic functionality we mainly focus on legacy video applications. You may run into issues with Flash and Geckoview. I doubt we have any resources to support that configuration.
