Flash 10.2.159 installed but doesn't play

Doing my best to provide question and system info:
Finally got Flash Player 10.2.159.1 to install. I can see the rotating logo on your "about" page. However, cannot get video to play on other sites, including AOL, where it worked before.
I am running:
HP laptop on unsecured network. 64-bit machine. 32bit IE9 version 9.0.8112.16421 which was installed two days ago (4/20) and started the problem. Have deliberately invoked IE9 from start menu to insure using 32bit version.
I have uninstalled Flash, reinstalled, rebooted, etc. multiple times. Have tried both Manager and manual install. Last was via Manager.
I have no "kill bit" entry in the registry (did not delete, it wasn't there).
I have no install error log.

    FlashUtil10p_ActiveX.exe
IE9 Manage Addons shows Adobe Shockwave Flash Object enabled, but with blank load time.
I run Norton Utilities (v 14.5.0.120) and Norton Internet Security (v 18.5.0.125). I have had no virus/malware/etc. errors since buying machine.
   Cannot find any means in these packages to check on pop-up blockers. But don't see any notices of any, either. Registry analysis under Utilities shows no errors
I turned off the hardware accelerator.
I admit to being a mainframe programmer with little knowledge of PCs but have read other posts and tried to follow instructions. So, not knowledgable but may be capable.
Wouldn't have your job for all the tea in China, but will appreciate any help or suggestions. Currently unemployed and would really rather avoid $40 fee.

This appears to have solved the problem. AOL videos and others now work. Thank you.
Maybe this could be added to the instructions on installation/troubleshooting? Seems much simpler than checking kill bits in the registry.

Problem with adobe flash player, it's installed but doesn't work....

I have Windows 7 - Internet Explorer 9 with both 32 and 64 - 32 being the main one used.

We haven't touched Flash Player or Javascript so I don't know why all of a sudden this has happened after using it without any problems for 4 months.
Anyway I've checked all the suggestions re Internet Options Security (custom level etc) and checked Internet Options Programs manage add-ons, and checked under ?Help that we're running IE (without 64bit showing). I've uninstalled and reinstalled the current Flash Player version several times, and when I check http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/ it shows I have version 10,3,181,34 installed, I've even copied across from my last backup the version which worked before these problems. I've also uninstalled and reinstalled Java.
Can someone please help.

I think I will leave ActiveX Filtering enabled. I have added the mathletics webiste to my restricted sites (tools, internet options, security, restricted sites) and have changed the custom level to ActiveX Filtering disabled, and I have also changed the (top right hand corner) content filtering to read "no content is filtered on this site".
Is this ok that I do that?
However, it hasn't rectified my problem.
I see there are quite a few people that seem to be having the same or similar problem with Windows 7 / IE9 and Flash Player, is it possible there's a bug?

You're getting "No such file or directory" errors because you're running a precompiled 32 bit binary on a 64 bit machine without having all the required 32 bit libraries. Try and install every lib32 counter part to the dependencies listed on the AUR page.
I thought it was because of being 64 bit.

ATR, just to make sure you understand me, all my video clips in my folders appear as the first frame of the video clip when I view my folders as (small, medium, large)icons instead of lists, when saved as .avi files but when saved as .mp4 files, those icons display as a graphic icon of filmstrip with a musical note on it. I do have various other methods to open with (quick time, windows media, winamp or real player) but prefer real player because I like it's quick and easy trimmer that comes along with it, since so many of my videos are just pet antics where you need to clip off the boring beginning and ends of the video.
I did go on a few of the icons and right clicked, Open With, and tried quick time and also Windows Media and it did nothing as far as how the file was saved for display, and they opened the same no matter which player I used...the actual video opens and plays right at it's first frame... but it's the way it is visually displayed in STORAGE that bugs me because it isn't immediately apparent to me what it is a video of (weddings, outside the house, pet antics)... it makes me have to actually title things and read titles where before I let it just be dates because I had the visual of that first frame as a reference. Obviously, this is a problem for unedited videos only, as anything I actually work with, I do give a title along with the date of the video.
I also just realized this seems to be the way ALL videos that are wrapped in .mp4 are displayed, as my bloggie camera's videos appear the same way. Now I know why! My other videos display as .avi's so I see the frame. Puzzle solved. Guess I'll just have to learn to live with it, as it seems to be how things display with the various formats.
Now I need to watch some tutorials to learn how this Premiere program works! It's all new to me, since this is the first time I've been able load any of my videos onto it. I haven't even been able to figure out how to trim on it yet!

the ones that are greyed out did not get downloaded all of the way. You need to delete or unsync them and redownload or resync them.

Have you contacted app support or maybe view this video from the website? Are you trying to play them within the app itself? Did you double tap on the video that you want to watch?

Programs like VIMEO say that adobe flash player isn't installed but it is isntalled

several videos try to play but say you have to install adobe flash player but I Have it installed in firefox. I look at the apps and its there and not disabled.

Says Adobe Flash Player 11 successfully installed but it is NOT!

Hi, I tried to install the Adobe Flash Player 11. It says each time (tried many times) it was successfully installed but it was not. Actually it gets to 50% then stops and sometimes ask me to close Internet Explorer sometimes does not and then when I close it, it runs fast to 100% saying successfully installled. When I check in my control panel it gives me only 6MB installed but should be 16.3MB. But actually is not installed at all.
My OS is windows 7.
Please help, I need AFP ASAP. Thank you

Here's what I recommend:
Download the Adobe Flash Player installer directly by clicking one (or both) of the following links.
Flash Player for ActiveX (Internet Explorer)
Flash Player Plug-in (All other browsers)
Because IE asks if you want to "Run" or "Save", choose "Save".
Reboot...
Then perform a "clean install"
Afterward, make sure Flash Player is enabled for Internet Explorer

Flash shows as being installed but is not (according to Adobe)

I want to view content using Flash. After manual install of Flash and also trying to install directly - nothing works. The Mozilla site indicates I should get a yellow bar asking to install but this does not appear. The plug Ins page shows I have no plug ins active. Add Ons show I have Shockwave Flash 10.1.82.76. I am running Firefox 3.6.9.

You might want to update/install the latest Flash in IE as well. I remember several months ago when I finished updating my Flash, Firefox still asked me to update it. Then I opened IE and update Flash there also. After that, my Flash plug-in worked in Firefox.
And to ensure you have the latest versions of Flash and they were updated successfully, go to this website and check:

Playing mp3 stream works well in Emulator but doesn't play on Device

I'm facing this problem. I'm using flex && actionscript to play an mp3 stream on the phone.
Code works great and the sound is played when the app is run in the flash builder emulator.
However, when i deploy my app on a mobile device (tried several Android phones) everything is good except the stream doesn't play!
Can you please help me??

I've resolved the path issues and am now experimenting with formats other than SCORM that will hopefully launch off our LMS (SyberWorks).
I think I know what a cross domain issue is... it seems pretty self evident, (ie) .htm/.swf files live on a different server domain than video or audio files.
I think all my files are on the same domain in the zip file. However, are the following paths also an example of a cross domain issue?:

Yes you can re download
Delete the faulty file
Go to the itunes store. Select Purchased from Quick links on the right
Navigate to the music you want and click the cloud button to download

Muvo 100 seems to load but doesn't play; display is scramb

I have two new Muvo 00's 2GB. Tried to load both. Two problems: () only about .2 GB of music loads in on both of them and then they stop; can't get close to 2 GB; (2) on one of them, Media Source shows that there is music downloaded, but the unit doesn't play and the display looks like digital sand - - a mass of little specks but not readable. And this latter one only stays on for a few minutes and then turns off. I've reloaded this second one three times with the same result.
A few months ago I loaded a Muvo GB and had no problems.

What do you have to do to get the track to play?
Does plugging in headphones result in the track playing immediately?

Question. When I plug in my headphones, the music plays. But when I try to play it without headphones, it doesn't really play. Sometimes it doesn't play at all. Other times, it won't play the first 20 seconds and then only plays five seconds. The songs are downloaded not streaming thru google play. How do I fix this? I've only had the phone 1 month.
