Flash 10 Installation error

Question

My firefox updated some stuff today and told me I required the newest flash update as well, so I jumped on over to the website and downloaded the plugin, but when it tried to install itself it opened up a "Run As" window asking for a user account to run it under, and no matter what user account I tried(even my admin account) it wouldn't do anything, and would keep jumping back to that window as if I hadn't clicked on anything.
So I hit cancel and the  installation went corrupt. Fine, I expected that. I opened up the exe to manually install it, and it made it midway through before some of the files (NPSWF32.dll, NPSWF32_FlashUtil.exe,flashplayer.xpt) could not be written, and the uninstall_plugin.exe file could not be created. And Flash 10 still doesn't work on my computer. So I uninstalled it and Flash player 9, just in case, restarted my PC, and then attempted to DL again.
THis time, from the adobe website, it gave me this error when I tried to download it: getPlus+ (R): Error
(16244.202.235 - 42072312.80040154.FFFFFFFF.80040154)
Which I would hazard a guess that it's related to your adobe download manager(correct me if I'm wrong however).
I'm running Windows XP SP3, I've checked out all the permission settings on my accounts and everything looks fine.
Please don't set this turn into a Microsoft Silverlight debacle where it takes 6 months to get it working on my PC.
I've checked around in other threads to see if my issue has come up and I've seen some similarities in others and attempted steps suggested, but still nothing. :S

to vampyone: My issue revolved around my using Drop My Rights. As Drop My Rights strips user priviledges from the application launched through it, I simply had to launch Firefox directly (not through Drop My Rights) and as administrator.
You may also need to check your personal firewall and security software as they may try to stop the download as well - I have Norton Internet Security & CounterSpy and they gave me no problems.
The Adobe Download Manager now had the rights to launch, download and install the update.
Once the update was complete, I quit Firefox (as it was running as admin) and then continued working as I usually did.
Without the heads up about the download manager requiring administrative access, it would have taken me a while to figure it out.
Why this particular flash player update required administrative access is beyond me. None of the others did.
IE8 gave no problems for me. I did not notice any problems in the other XP user accounts.

If  run it as admin to install  doesn't work for, try that...
