Flash 11.3 Installation - Mac OS X 10.7.4

Hello.
I have been using Adobe Flash Player for years, no issues.
11.3 update came around a few weeks ago and my iMac refused to install it.
I tried all the obvious fixes. I know I have all the latest software installed and I believe I am installing the correct version of the Player for my computer.
I am running Mac OS X 10.7.4 - Lion.
When I try to install Flash 11.3, it crashes anywhere around 4 to 8% in the installation progress.
I get the error below. It's not specific, doesnt have error numbers, crash report error, etc.
I tried using the Flash Uninstaller from the Adobe website as well. It seems to clear my Mac of the Flash Player, but now I am still unable to do a fresh install, period!
I tried multiple times, using multiple browsers to download and install it, nothing works for me.
I am in DIRE NEED TO USE THE FLASH PLAYER.
Can anyone please help me?
I thank you for your time.

Sunil,
I had also tried this before. It does not work for me. I've visited the URL you provided. It lacks a lot of good information.
I get the following error:
I am able to download and install any other kind of software from any other vendor without any issues.
I'm not sure why this is causing so much problems.

  • How can I install Adobe flash player on my Mac using Safari OR Chrome? I have gone through every step on all of the help pages. The installation process always stops with the black box that briefly says, "Retrieving Install . . . ", then nothing.

I have followed every step in the various help pages I was directed to when troubleshooting the inability to install Adobe Flash Player on my Mac using either Safari or Chrome. Everything has failed. I always get the black box that says briefly, "Retrieving instal. . . " and then goes blank. When I close that window, I get the message, "Adobe Flash Player could not be installed." Then it gives some links to follow for troubleshooting. I have followed ALL of the links there and on other help pages, to no avail. I've run into problems installing Adobe before, but it's never been this bad. Would someone please develop another format besides Adobe? Trying to get help from Adobe feels a little like trying to find a building in New York City with no map or GPS. The time required is voluminous, the emotional energy a/k/a frustration is overwhelming, and long before I get anything resolved, I wish the earth would open up and swallow all things Adobe@. Absence that miraculous intervention, I have to figure out what to do next. Does anyone know? Anyone?

Hello everybody, good news: after upgrading to Mountain Lion 10.8.5 I've been able to run the installer and all went fine.
Mountain Lion allows user to force execution through the context-menu (CTRL-click) Open command and it does work, just that simple.
So my advice is: if you want to install or re-install Flash Builder 4.6 on a Mac with Lion installed, upgrade to Mountain Lion or better to avoid problems.
Apple introduced some (not all) Gatekeeper functionalities in 10.7.3 and following, but apparently you need a full-fledged 10.8 to have also what you need to circumvent a Revoked Certificate error.
Since usually OS X has auto updating active, if you are running Lion you end up with 10.7.5 and won't install FB46. If you manage somehow to hold 10.7.2 I suppose you should be able to install FB46, sincerely I didn't check it out. Anyway it's simpler and safer to move on to 10.8.x.
    Bye

  • Flash player update installation on Mac OS

    Mac Mini, OS X 10.9.5,
    Web browser: Mozilla Firefox 34.0.5
I have down loaded the latest version for Adobe Flash player (AdobeFlashPlayerInstaller_16_ltrosxd_aaa_aih) for Mac. After initializing, downloading files, etc ... finalization requires all open browsers and DashboardClient be closed.   Okay, so it's clear open browsers need to be closed, but stopping DashboardClient cannot be done.   Mac OS auto-restarts the application each time it is Quit using Activity Monitor.
Why does Adobe require my DashboardClient to be closed ?  I do not have any widgets running in Dashboard that utilize Flashplayer.    The installation does not complete and I am now seeing Firefox warnings about possible issue with an outdated Flash player version, and is disabled.
This is not a new issue, as each previous attempt to install the update, results in the same message and non successful update.

  • Flash player only installs the installer as a device on my Mac.

I have tried repeatedly to install the Adobe Flash Player onto my Mac OS X system. It goes through the entire process as described on line, but it only installs the Flash Player Installer as a device. It is a never ending cycle of instillation. The program never shows up as an application. Therefore there is never a Flash Player to be recognized when I try to open something that requires the Flash player. How do I fix it?

The "device" is a disk image (DMG). It's a "virtual" disk that behaves like a CD-ROM. It should appear as a removable disk on your desktop, like a Flash Drive. If you double click it, you should see the installer, a red "box" with the Flash Player icon on the front side. Double click that and it wil install.

  • Problem with finishing install of Flash Player on a Mac. When finishing by entering the requested password, the dialog box jiggles as if the p/w is invalid. But it works in the Adobe site.

I am trying to install Flash player on my Mac. All the steps are working as they should, until the point where I am asked to enter my password. I do this, and the dialog box jiggles as through  the p/w were invalid. However, it works to sign in to the Adobe site. I just changed it to be sure and checked again.

There is no password required to download or install the Flash Player.  Chances are your Mac is requiring you to enter its password to allow the installation to occur.

How do i install adobe flash flyer to the mac book pro laptop .it states my adobe is out dated i need to install a newer version.

Go to this link to download the installer and this link to determine which version you have installed. Always get extensions like this from the publisher (in this case Adobe) and not from some website that says you need an extension and offers to install it for you since you may end up with malware instead.
BTW, once the current version of Flash is installed, you can set its preferences to update automatically in the background.

  • I have been trying for days to upgrade Flash Player on my Mac (Mac OS 10.8.3, Safari 6.0.4

I have been trying for days to upgrade Flash Player on my Mac (Mac OS 10.8.3, Safari 6.0.4, current Flash Player version 11.6.602.180), but each time that I download the installer and run it, there is a "General installation error" soon after starting the "Installing" phase.
Each time, the installer completes the "Creating Install" and "Downloading" phases, but soon after starting the "Installing" phase, an error occurs "Error: General installation error" and Safari is opened tohttp://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/completion/aih/?exitcode=30&type=inst all&appid=500
Is it unusual for another "Install Adobe Flash Player" app to open?  When the "Installing" phase begins, a second flash installer box icon appears in the dock, but then closes immediately and then the first installer shows the "Error: General installation error" page.

    Try this installer http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/current/licensing/mac/install_flash_playe r_11_osx.dmg

  • Flash Player update for Mac OS X 10.5.8

Does anyone have any ideas how to update my flash player on my Mac?  It has the following: OS X 10.5.8 which has a 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Processor.  I tried updating directly from the Adobe forum related to this, but it only lists the option from 10.6 to 10.10 now.  Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks.

If you're on an Intel Mac, you can probably complete the installation.  I don't *think* we'll block you at install time.  That said, we're using the MacOS 10.6 SDK, so there may be problems.  You should be eligible for a free upgrade to Yosemite, and you might want to consider it.
Running a Flash Player from the archives means that you're missing all of the security fixes that have been shipped since that build was initially released.  If you're surfing the web, this is generally a pretty bad ideal, even on Mac.  You're going to be much safer running current versions of the OS and Flash Player.

  • Trying to install Flash 11.5 on Mac OS X 10.6.8. Install completes but Flash does not work - any help?

Hi, I was told I didn't have Flash 7 when trying to see something online (which I am sure was incorrent to begin with) so I followed the provided link to download Flash version 11.5. The download completed without problems but Flash doesn't seem to work at all. I have uninstalled, reinstalled and restarted. I don't know what to try next, any help would be much appreciated!

    Start here;

Also, never, never follow links for flash, codecs or plug-ins of any kind from websites that throw up these warnings - there's a high chance of the link being to a malware site.
Always go directly to the vendor.
