Flash 11.7.700.202 - reports of unable to see video

We run a social video site and have had many reports of users unable to see video in the last few days. Our code has not changed and we believe this is due to the 11.7.700.202 release as these problems were not previously reported.
Symptoms:
User is subscribing via rtmfp to a live stream on an Adobe FMS. When this happens, we don't know if they fail to connect or the connect succeeds and they don't see video. We use an inhouse flash app. The feed is available on the FMS since other users are successfully subscribing to the same feed.
This happens to a small percent of users but that leads to many reports across our user base.
Refreshing the page, which reinstantiates the flash app, removes the problem.
Is anyone else seeing problems with viewing video from the newly updated flash player?
Thank you,
Robert

We found the problem and it is on our side, not a problem with the flash upgrade. I'll write what happened here in case it can help anyone else.
On Sunday night, two days after this post, one of our FMSs stopped accepting RTMFP publishes. When we examined the box we found that it was reporting that it had reached its max licensed RTMFP connections. We know there weren't that number of connections on there and suspect that connections leaked. After restarting the box, the FMS resumed accepting RTMFP publishes. This failure has never happened to us before so we're treating it as a one-off and not investigating.
Since the restart of that FMS, reports of subscribe failures have disappeared. That's great and we're presuming the restart fixed the subscribe failures. The strange thing is that users were reporting subscribe failures several days before we observed any publish failures. That said, we know this FMS was in a strange state so we concluded our investigation.
Thanks to Chris for the quick response on this.

    I am running windows 7 64bit with IE 10.

    @commandt2 -
The first thing I'd try is updating your video driver.
Windows: how do I update the device driver for my video/display adapter?
If you still have problems and you're using Windows 7 x64, please check to see if you have the following Windows update installed:
    KB2670838 – Platform Update for Windows 7 x64
If so, please uninstall it and try Flash Player out again.

Flash update for Chrome has had poor performance on youtube videos. Some videos you hear the start of the sound and see and picture, start buffering and then starts playing again.  Very annoying.  Never used to do this, and sdoesn;t do this on internet explorer.
It hangs randomly during Youtube videos. Sometimes they don't even start. Changing the resolution (480p, 720p, etc) sometimes kicks it into gear, but not often. Refreshing the page doesn't help much either.
I have to download them with DownloadHelper and they download at 1mbps.

  • Firefox 21 not playing adobe flash 11,7,700,202 videos

Anytime that I try to play a video in Firefox 21 (I have recommended Adobe 11,7,700,202 installed), it just stays on the load 'circle' and never plays. When I copy the video url into IE 10, it plays right away.

Just did new install of Firefox 21 with blank profile and installed install_flashplayer11x32_mssd_aaa_aih.exe (Windows 7 32 bit) as only.
Firefox stalls and dies when I try to run anything Flash, even Gmail.
So it's nothing to do with incompatible add-ons.
I look in Task Manager to see if anything else is running that might be interfering, but nothing other than the usual list of system files and services.
Have added ProtectedMode=0 to the Flash ccfg file. Now something called PluginFirefoxUI pops up rather than the second PliuginContainer in the Task Manager.
My antivirus is AVG (up to date).
Only going back to Flash 10 fixes this for the moment.
This is serious. FF is my favourite browser, but until this is fixed I shall either have to run the risk of Flash 10 or use Chrome (groan) or perhaps Opera (better).
PS: After a reboot and resinstall of 11.7 this now seems to work, even with other addons enabled. So ProtectedMode was the culprit.

  • If I accept cookies, I am unable to see videos in YouTube

Yesterday I upgraded Firefox from version 3.6.13 to version 3.6.14 on two different machines (both of which use Windows XP). And then a very strange thing happened: after that I am unable to see YouTube videos. I can see hear the sound but there is no image (there is a white space instead). Furthermore, this only happens when I am a regular user, not an administrator. And it happens only with YouTube. The only way I found to fix the problem was to delete all YouTube cookies and to block any new ones. Then all works fine.

If you've an answer that works, that's fine. Problem may occur for various reasons, including flash problems and video drivers requiring updating.
As a temporary workaround hovering your cursor over the place where the pop-out button should be below the YouTube video screen, then left click there and the video will then display in the pop-out screen.

  • GForce4 MX420-T - Unable to see video on external TV/Monitor/VCR

I am unable to get any watchabe video out via the RCA or S-Video cable from my video card. I do get some garbled rubbish on the screen but it's just the odd bunch of diagonal white lines on a black screen.
I have tried this cable on other devices (Other than the Y adaptor that came with the card) and in the inputs of the divices that i want to watch the PC on and it works.
I have attempted to find a setting in the video card setup/config that allows me to specify the output to S-Video/RCA or PAL/NTSC but I am unable to find any setting like this.
    Thanks in advance

I LOVE your Firefox, do you mind if I grab a copy of it?
Go for it, I borrowed it from someone else in the forum. Then I found a bigger picture online. So far I have not found the original person who created it.
With the NVidia drivers, it should work. All you need to do is go into the graphic properties and have it output video to the correct device/cable. You should be able to have it clone the desktop or a second desktop. If it still doesn't work you will probably need to RMA the card.
What is the Y-adapter you mentioned in your first post?
    Good Luck
    Jeremy
After a bit of googling I extracted this from NVidias site.
    1) Right-click on the Desktop and select Properties
    2) Left-click on the tab labeled Settings. Then left-click on the Advanced button.
    3) This will bring up the Advanced Properties. Left-click on the tab corresponding to the graphcs card that is installed in your PC. For example, if you have a GeforceFX 5800 Ultra graphics card, you will click on the tab labeled "GeforceFX 5800 Ultra". A window will pop up to the left of this panel. From this left side window, select nView Display Mode.
    4) You should then see a panel similar to the one above. If you are using a single display video card, left-click the "Current Display" drop down menu and choose "TV". Then click on the "Apply button to confirm the change.
    5) If you are using a dual display video card, left-click over the "nView Modes" drop down menu and then select "Clone Mode". Then left-click over the "Display Pair" drop down menu and choose your monitor configuration (i.e. if you are using an analog CRT monitor plus TV, select "Analog Display + TV"). Then select the "Apply button.
    6) You should now see the display on your TV. A confirmation window will pop up prompting you to confirm the changes made. Select Yes to keep these settings. Otherwise, the display will revert back to your previous settings.
    Hope This Helps

  • Unable to 'see' videos

I have Windows 8 with the updated Flash Player.  Whenever I click on a video clip I can see any commercials in advance of the video and I get the audio portion of the actual video clip, but I get a green screen during the video itself.  Any suggestions? Thank you.

Green screen is most always caused by outdated or corrupted video drivers. Check them and update if necessary.

    Hi,
Error 7 is when a router or the connection to the router is broken in some way.
Some devices have features such as Denial Of Service protection (DoS) that cut a particular Internet Port when it thinks too much data is coming (Presuming it is an attack.)
iChat 5 in Leopard is not capped by the System Preferences > Quicktime Streaming speed (which we used to suggest was set at 1.5Mbps)
It now sees your whole Connection speed and your Upload may be much faster than this.
Your Download is likely to be much faster. However iChat will tend to operate at the lower figure of your Upload.
    DoS features are threshold based.
You may now be bumping in to this Threshold where you were not before.
SPI (Stateful packet Inspection) does a different job but has the same effect when it is overloaded by the speed of the data.
If you have either of these features, turn them Off (Disable them)

  • Unable to see videos or music that ive loaded

I've put some music and videos onto the ipad but when i got to view them on the device it shows the library as empty, i plug the ipad back onto the pc and it shows in itunes that the items are on the device, can someone please help....????
I also had the same problem with my iphone 3g.....!!!!
Am I doing something totally stupid...???

My guess is that that the file format of the videos are not supported by the iPad or iPhone. How were the videos created and what is the format. By format I mean the general format such as mp4 as well as frame rate, audio format etc. How to those parameters compare with the iPad supported video format listed Apple's technical specification page for the Ipad.

Hi, saiprasad3776. What's the exact error message? Can you still view your files when you connect your SD card to your computer? You can also try to use another SD card onto your Lumia 1320 to further isolate the issue. Let us know the outcome.

  • Skype webcam buffering - unable to see video

My Skype webcam just started buffering; the skype screen shows a grey screen with the loading circle, but will not load video. My webcam is also doing this, and the person who I was calling said it was happening to them too. I tried to run Microsoft Fix It, but it said Windows 8 wasn't supported. The audio was a bit sketchy as it would run normal audio, and then it would lower significantly before going back up to normal audio again; this happened randomly. This is the first time this has happened to me, and this computer is new; an ASUS ROG G751JT, which I got last december. The video cards seem fine, though I'm not sure if they need to be updated. Like I said before, this is the first time this has happened to me. I'm not sure what I should do, please help. Thanks!

Please,  run the DirectX diagnostics tool. Go to Windows Start  and in the Run box type dxdiag.exe and press the OK button. This will start the DirectX diagnostics program. Run this diagnostics and save the results to a file. Please, attach this file to your post. Be aware that you will have to zip this file before attaching it here.

  • Fash Player Plug-in 11.7.700.202 download will not complete.

When I updated to Firefox 21.0, I found that Flash Player Plug-in 11.7.700.202 was not working. Videos would not play. Had no problem before the Firefox upgrade. I downloaded a new copy of the player but the download would not complete. A error message (only a single instance of this application can run) appeared. I used Adobe Flash Player's uninstall to delete all Flash files. Then I tried downloading Flash 11.7.700.202 again. Same error message appeared and would not finish the download. Chrome videos work with no problem. Is there a hidden Flash file somewhere that's conflicting? Is this a Mozilla bug? I looked at all the support topics and didn't find anything. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It seems you mean "installing" instead of "downloading". Downloading means saving a file from a web page to your computer. Installing means launching the setup file and completing the steps described on-screen. If downloading fails, then there's no point in trying to install the application, because the setup file is unusable.
That particular error message means you have two Flash Player installers running simultaneously. According to the Adobe knowledgebase, simply clicking the OK button closes one of them and allows the installation to continue.

  • Unable to see fields of BI Publisher report in MS Office

    Hi,
We have a report in BIPublisher(10g). We are designing a template for a report. So from MSOffice, while we are accessing the report, we are unable to see the fields. We were able to see only RowSet. The report is working or able to see in BIPublisher.
This happens very often to us. We will be able to see the fields for some of the reports and unable to see for some reports. I can say we are able to see all the reports in BIPublisher.
Initially we are working in the sytem with 1GB RAM and thought that MSOffice is unable to load the report. Now we are working from a system with 2GB RAM, still same problem.
We did: Open MSWord-->Login to BIPublisher--> Open the folder-->Select the report.then--Insert field.
In the popup window opened, we were able to see only RowSet no fields.
We observed this is happening to the reports which have parameters to be passed
where could be the problem...help us.
    Thanks

Have a look at getXMLdata and downloadXMLdata of schedule service , using these you can get the xml data produced by the report job
getDocumentData and downloadDocumentData will return the document data which is basically a translation of xml data in your output format
