Flash 16 under Mac OS 10.6.8

When I tried to install Flash 16 tonight on my mac, it gets to 97% before it finishes installing, then does nothing. I can't use any sites that require Flash because I tried a clean install and it still failed after 97%. what am I doing wrong? I'm using firefox 32.0.1 and mac os 10.6.8 thanks!

RWV you will need to apply the same proxy setting change to Ethernet connection as well.  This preferences I showed are utilized to configure each network connection.
If you continue to face difficulties then I would recommend contacting our support team directly at Contact Customer Care.  If you have a Creative Cloud for Enterprise or Team account then please have your program administrator submit a request.
I would recommend running the log collector tool referenced at Log Collector Tool prior to contacting our support team. Please make sure to also have the all relevant information regarding your proxy server configuration.  This includes the type of proxy server being used and the version you are running.  If you do not regularly have access to this information then I would recommend including the individuals from your organization who do have those details in the conversation.

  • Problem: Flash update on Mac OS 10.411

A few days ago I was prompted to update Flash Player (youtube videos had suddenly stopped playing on the old version I had) and went ahead and did it. I go through the installation process and as far as I can tell nothing goes wrong. But I still can't watch videos online and the same message is always displayed "you need to update Flash, etc."
I have Mac OS 10.411 which I guess is 64-bit. I have Safari 4.1.3. I can't update Safari any further with the current OS. I can't download newer versions of Chrome or Firefox.
    What I've done so far x 10:
    -run the uninstaller
-run the installer  ["Flash Player 10.3 for Mac OSX 10.4-10.5 (Intel)" on the installation page]
    -checked http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about
to test if any older versions are still installed on the computer. Just says "missing plug-in", so I guess not.
I see under system preferences that version 10.3.183.10 is installed, which is the newest version the site gives me.
Thanks for looking at my question. Anyone know what to do?

We both have Tiger installled otherwise known as  os 10.4.11, as well I have safari 4.1.3  and flash  10.1 , I believe flash 10.3 will not work with OS 10.4.11 (its for a higher version of lion or leopard or something)
Make sure box in preferences advanced tab "show Develop menu in menu bar" is checked as I mentioned before and then do a 10.1 flash download in that order, I think I read  flash 10.3 is too high for safari 4.1.3 and Flash 11 is definitely too advanced for Tiger,  as well Tiger can not run Firefox or Chrome as a browser, thus the need to get a version of flash that works on your OS Safari version ..hope this [email protected],   FYI: You should google the error message that pops up in quotes along with your os version for good search results of any issue.

    I have the same problem!
I also have mac osx 10.4.11(intel) and was asked to upgrade to the latest flash player...but when I did, suddenly couldn't load/watch any videos.
Tried the same things you did, to no avail (uninstalled and installed flash player 10.3 over and over, and still nothing)..it's as if i didn't install it when I did.
And because of my os version, can't avail of the archived flash players on this site
    Help please!
I tried fixing my Safari preferences but still doesn't work.

  • Embedding flash player in mac osx app

Is possible to embed an instance of flash player in an
objective-c app on mac? Any help will be greatly

    Hi Carribus,
I'm working on the same thing as you but using Qt and have painting working under Mac/Win. Are you trying to paint in windowed and/or windowless mode? Your problem might be with values of struct NPWindow.clipRect/.x/.y and passing to NPP_SetWindow(). If you are painting in windowed mode clipRect have to match the position of your control.
As for NPN_GetURLNotify() I've not got around to that fully.

  • Adobe Photoshop CS2 crashes under Mac OS 10.411

    Hy,
I have a Big Problem with Adobe Photoshop CS 2 under Mac Os 10.4.11.

I delete all file in Preferences and Library and reinstall Adobe Photoshop CS2 - its the same Problem.

Note: Indesign CS2 has no Problems - its running well.
    Who can Help me????

I'm having the EXACT same problem. I don't know what to do as I use this in my business daily. None of my other programs....GoLive, Illustraor, InDesign are all fine. Surely we can't be the only 2 people that this has happened too.
THEN tried calling Adobe... worthless. They only help if someone upgrades to cs4 or 5. That means spending MORE money to upgrade your version of the computer this all after spendin $250 on their Creative Suites package. Bunch of BULL CRAP.

  • Under Mac OS 10.5.8, itunes 10.6.3 not running

Under Mac OS 10.5.8, iTunes 10.6.3 not running, demanding Quicktime 7.5.5 or higher. Quicktime 7.6.4 installed according to 'About this Mac,' but QT Player is 7.2.1. How do I fix this so I can use iTunes?

    QuickTime 7.5.5 for Leopard - http://support.apple.com/kb/DL27
    QuickTime 7.7 for Leopard - http://support.apple.com/kb/dl761
= New version of Quicktime installed but application reports it needs to have that version installed =
Open Application > Utilities > System Profiler and check the Quicktime version in Frameworks vs. the version in Applications.  One person had re-installed their operating system.  It had kept the newer Player application but had reverted to an earlier version of the underlying support framework files which many applications utilize.  Re-installing Quicktime 7.7 took care of the problem.  Do this manually, not with Software Update.

  • Unable to access Airport Extreme under Mac OS 10.6.7

Strange problem. I'm able to access the Internet, but can't access my Airport Extreme using Airport Utility under Mac OS 10.6.7.

Did you power cycle the entire network? It's always a good idea after any update.
Try this, if you haven't already done so:
Power everything down on the entire network, order is not important
Wait a moment and start the modem first and let it run a moment by itself
Start the next device connected to the modem the same way
Keep starting devices one at a time the same way until everything is powered back up

hi im having huge problems trying to install flash for my mac 10.5 imac, iv gone through the internet and tried all of the solutions, everytime i try to install flash it says cant read the download file, or it just wont install, anybody plz help!
iv unistalled flash, iv checked plug ins it just wont work,

It would have been a great help to know precisely what Mac you have, so some of the following may not apply:
You can check here:  http://www.adobe.com/products/flash/about/  to see which version you should install for your Mac and OS. Note that version 10,1,102,64 is the last version available to PPC Mac users*. The latest version,10.3.183.23 or later, is for Intel Macs only running Tiger or Leopard, as Adobe no longer support the PPC platform. Version 11.4.402.265 or later is for Snow Leopard onwards.
(If you are running Mavericks: After years of fighting malware and exploits facilitated through Adobe's Flash Player, the company is taking advantage of Apple's new App Sandbox feature to restrict malicious code from running outside of Safari in OS X Mavericks.)
    * Unhelpfully, if you want the last version for PPC (G4 or G5) Macs, you need to go here:  http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/142/tn_14266.html  and scroll down to 'Archived Versions/Older Archives'. Flash Player 10.1.102.64 is the one you download. More information here:  http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/838/cpsid_83808.html
You should first uninstall any previous version of Flash Player, using the uninstaller from here (make sure you use the correct one!):
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/909/cpsid_90906.html
and also that you follow the instructions closely, such as closing ALL applications (including Safari) first before installing. You must also carry out a permission repair after installing anything from Adobe.
After installing, reboot your Mac and relaunch Safari, then in Safari Preferences/Security enable ‘Allow Plugins’. If you are running 10.6.8 or later:
When you have installed the latest version of Flash, relaunch Safari and test.
If you're getting a "blocked plug-in" error, then in System Preferences… ▹ Flash Player ▹ Advanced
click Check Now. Quit and relaunch your browser.
You can also try these illustrated instructions from C F McBlob to perform a full "clean install", which will resolve the "Blocked Plug-in" message when trying to update via the GUI updater from Adobe.
Use the FULL installer for 12.0.0.44:  Flash Player 12 (Mac OS X)
And the instructons are here: Snow Leopard Clean Install.pdf
(If you are running a PPC Mac with Flash Player 10.1.102.64 and are having problems with watching videos on FaceBook or other sites, try the following solution which fools the site into thinking that you are running the version 11.5.502.55:)
Download this http://scriptogr.am/nordkril/post/adobe-flash-11.5-for-powerpc to your desktop, unzip it, and replace the current Flash Player plug-in which is in your main/Library/Internet Plug-Ins folder, (not the user Library). Save the old one just in case this one doesn't work.

  • Best way to format my 16GB flash drive for Mac and PC transferring large power point files?

best way to format my 16GB flash drive for Mac and PC transferring large power point files?

format flash drive in Exfat for transferring files between Mac and Pc.
    FORMAT TYPES
    FAT32 (File Allocation Table)
Read/Write FAT32 from both native Windows and native Mac OS X.
    Maximum file size: 4GB.
    Maximum volume size: 2TB
You can use this format if you share the drive between Mac OS X and Windows computers and have no files larger than 4GB.
    NTFS (Windows NT File System)
    Read/Write NTFS from native Windows.
Read only NTFS from native Mac OS X
To Read/Write/Format NTFS from Mac OS X, here are some alternatives:
For Mac OS X 10.4 or later (32 or 64-bit), install Paragon (approx $20) (Best Choice for Lion)
Native NTFS support can be enabled in Snow Leopard and Lion, but is not advisable, due to instability.
AirPort Extreme (802.11n) and Time Capsule do not support NTFS
    Maximum file size: 16 TB
    Maximum volume size: 256TB
You can use this format if you routinely share a drive with multiple Windows systems.
HFS+ ((((MAC FORMAT)))) (Hierarchical File System, a.k.a. Mac OS Extended (Journaled) Don't use case-sensitive)
    Read/Write HFS+ from native Mac OS X
Required for Time Machine or Carbon Copy Cloner or SuperDuper! backups of Mac internal hard drive.
To Read HFS+ (but not Write) from Windows, Install HFSExplorer
    Maximum file size: 8EiB
    Maximum volume size: 8EiB
You can use this format if you only use the drive with Mac OS X, or use it for backups of your Mac OS X internal drive, or if you only share it with one Windows PC (with MacDrive installed on the PC)
    EXFAT (FAT64)
Supported in Mac OS X only in 10.6.5 or later.
Not all Windows versions support exFAT.
    exFAT (Extended File Allocation Table)
AirPort Extreme (802.11n) and Time Capsule do not support exFAT
    Maximum file size: 16 EiB
    Maximum volume size: 64 ZiB
You can use this format if it is supported by all computers with which you intend to share the drive.  See "disadvantages" for details.

  • Why does Acrobot Pro no longer deliver correctly PDF printed results under Mac OS 10.4 and 10.5 ?

    Hello!
When printing with Panther (Mac 10.3.9), my PDF printouts were always correct. Now, under Mac operating systems 10.4 and 10.5 the printouts from the ink jet printer are unusable – they are by at least 15% too dark, dark areas are slurred and oversaturated (all data RGB, CMYK)
    - when compared to the print preview in Acrobat, InDesign or Photoshop
    - compared to soft proof resp. print preview representing the ICC paper profile
    - compared to the output from Photoshop, i.e. by opening the PDF file in PS to be printed under the same parameters
    - compared to the PDF files which were printed under MAC 10.3.9  which are in line with the view on the screen and the printout made from the PDF opened under Photoshop
    - i.e. Under Panther printout work, as generally under Photoshop – even under 10.4 and 10.5. According to my information, it also works under Windows XP.
The problem I am talking about occurs under an RGB print workflow with mixed data, RGB and CMYK, converted into the ICC output content or embedded profiles, self-created PDF files or official test charts.
It does not make any difference where PDFs came from (InDesign-Export CS2/3 or Postscript / Distiller) or which output profile or paper was used. The problem started once I had installed 10.4 on my G4 (Acrobat 7). The same under Acrobat 8 and 9 as well as under the Intel-Mac and Acrobat 9.
The only solution I have at the moment is an external bootable hard disk operative under Panther OS to generate correct PDF printouts now.
    Thank you for your help,
    Peter!

First try downloading the latest Driver for your printer.
then go to printer Utilityand delete the current listing for your printer. Quit Printer Utility
next install new Driver downloaded from Manufacturer
finally go back to Printer Utility and add the print Driver for your Printer.
    Now open Acrobat.
choose a Document that you have been trying to print causing issues
print one or two pages of the document, choose pages that seem to cause the most problem.
    check results.
if still an issue try the following:
adjust the items in one of these windows:

  • Photoshop CS6 has out of memory errors under Mac OS X 10.7.4

Has anyone who has a 2008 MacBoo Pro with the NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT 512 MB graphics card tried running Photoshop CS6 under Mac OS X 10.7.4?
On my MacBook Pro, PS CS6 launches; however, any action results in an out of memory error.  The CS6 versions of After Effects, Premiere Pro and Illustrator all launch and run as expected under 10.7.4.
If I switch to my Mac OS X 10.6.8 startup volume, Photoshop CS6 runs as expected.
I have support cases open with Adobe, NVidia and Apple.  Adobe thinks I need to update the display drivers.  NVidia says display drivers must be provided by Apple.  Apple says that the display drivers are current.  The Apple support agent said that he can escalate the case if the issue can be reproduced on more than one computer.
I'd love to keep my MacBook Pro running another year or so without having to reboot in 10.6.8 every time I need to use Photoshop.  I'd stay with 10.6.8, but of course iCloud requires 10.7.4.
I have not tried 10.8 yet, but it's on my troubleshooting list.
Also, PS CS6 runs fine under Mac OS X 10.7.4 on my 2010 iMac.
Thanks in advance for any feedback.
    - Warren

It looks like it was indeed the display driver for the NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GT 512 MB graphics card inside my 2008 MacBook Pro.
It seems that this driver only gets installed if you upgrade from Mac OS X 10.6.7 to 10.7.4 while the startup drive is connected to the MacBook Pro itself.  I had updated while the startup drive was connected to my 2010 iMac. Accordingly, I could have reinstalled Photoshop 100 times without it ever launching as expected.  Having used the external startup drive with three other Apple computers (all 2010 or newer machines) with Photoshop CS6 launching as expected, I had just assumed (mistakenly) that it would work as expected with my 2008 computer.
So, this was simple enough to resolve by upgrading the OS on the external startup drive while having it connected to the MacBook Pro.   In hindsight, this makes perfect sense.

  • I still get plug in failure even after uninstall and reinstalled adobe flash to my mac os x 10.7.5 (4 bit) with flash 16.0.0.235 how do I get this fixed??? HELP

I still get plug in failure even after uninstall and reinstalled adobe flash to my mac os x 10.7.5 (4 bit) with flash 16.0.0.235 how do I get this fixed??? HELP

That crash appears to be casued by the Facebook plug-in.
Create a new account (systempreferences -> accounts or Users & Groups on 10.7 and 10.8), make a new Library in that account, import some shots  and see if the problem is repeated there. If it is, then a re-install of the app might be indicated. If it's not, then it's likely the app is okay and the problem is something in the main account.
