Flash 6.0 r25 has stopped working...

I purchased the Macromedia  Suite a few years ago and today I installed everything on a new laptop, but when I try to open Flash I get a message stating...
"Flash 6.0 r25 has stopped working"
I am given two options
1. Check online for a solution and close the program
2. Close the program
The problem details are listed as...

I know this version is probably ancient history by know, but it is what I have to work with. I eagerly await your assistance.

Thank you for the reply. I actually stumbled upon a solution myself and want to make this information available to any other poor boys like me. I found a Troubleshoot Compatibility option in a Program Data Options Window. When I ran the troubleshooter, it indicated that my current Windows program had a color issue and needed to revert to a color option of a prior Windows version. It made mention of Windows XP Service Pack 2. It said that it would run Flash 6.0 on the older colors and return to Aero when I closed the program. I hope this helps somebody in the future,

  • Adobe Flash Builder 4.5 has stopped working

My Adobe Flash Builder 4.5 has stopped working.
I receive the following error when trying to start:
An error has occured. See the log file
    C:\ Documents and Settings.......\.metadata.log
    I have attached the file.
I have searched the web to try and find a suitable reason/solution but can't seem to find one.
    I'm using WIN XP
I had another look on the forums and have managed to cobble together an ini  file which launches Eclipse (as the IDE) instead of Flash Builder but it's not ideal although it does seem to work.
    It's really very strange.

  • Flash Player plug-in has stopped working

    Hello,
It's about 1-2 months that I have this constant problem with Flash Player plug-in.
It occurs me (sometimes as soon as the page charges) everytime while I'm playing browser games (like FB ones, Anno-Online, Drakensang Online...) and, maybe, twice, while watching videos: grey screen "Flash Player plug-in has stopped working". Refreshing the page isn't the solution because every very few minutes we're there again and again.
I already tried almost everything but nothing seems to help me:
    - uninstalling and reinstalling it
    - uninstalling and installing older version (10.3)
    - trying other browser (exact same problem with Google Chrome)
    - disabled protection and even uninstalled my antivirus
    - followed this (http://helpx.adobe.com/it/flash-player/kb/flash-player-games-video-or.html) and a lot of other "guides"
    - disabled every other plug-in
    - formatted my hard disk and reinstalled my OS (not because of this problem, but neither this fixed the situation)
And I can't remember if I am missing some other try.
Is there something I can do to fix this problem? It's getting really annoying.
    Hope someone can help me
    Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 x64
    Firefox 20.0.1 - Google Chrome 26.0.1410.64 m
Flash Player 11.7.700.169 (same problems with 10.3 and 11.4 versions)
P.S.: Excuse me for bad English.

Hello Chris, thanks for your reply.
Well, I don't know if the crashes occur with 10.3 too, because the games didn't load and a message tells me to upgrade my FP to a newer version of it.
Here you have some of the games:
    http://www.drakensang.com/
    http://en.anno-online.com/en/homepage
    http://apps.facebook.com/road_to_fame/
I don't have any sort of steps to follow, to me it occurs very very soon  (few minutes, like 2 or 3) every single time I try to play one of these game during normal game actions. After that, if I reload the page, sometimes FP crashes while the game is still loading, otherwise it'll crash while playing again.
The firts times this problem occured to me, I used to reload the page many times to regularly end with a system crash and BSoD. So, these last weeks I give up as soon as it crashes first time.
Hope you can reproduce it and do something.
    Regards,
    Alessandro

Can anyone help me resolve this? I did download and reinstall flash player from adobe's home page, but to no avail... issue still persists.

A small update to the above post - I think the issue has sth to do with Mozilla specifically. Doesn't occur when I use other browsers and besides read couple of forum posts regarding the same issue ppl have had just with an older version of Flash player, but still with Mozilla. So i guess this thread should also be on mozilla's forum, but if anyone can help me out here, i'd be totally glad!
    Cheers!

  • Notification - Adobe Flash player 14.0r0 has stopped working - takes multiple clicks to close.

When going onto Facebook or E-bay a notification screen comes up with:
'Adobe Flash player 14.0r0 has stopped working'
    It has 2 options:
    1. Check online for a solution & close the program.
    2. Close the program.
It takes multiple clicks, 10 to 12, on either option to close the screen.
    Would appreciate any help.

While you are troubleshooting this, it might be helpful, to avoid unnecessary pain on sites where Flash is not actually essential, to set Flash to Click-to-Play ("Ask to Activate"). This will delay Flash from starting on a page until you approve it.
To set "Ask to Activate", open the Add-ons page using either:
    * Ctrl+Shift+a
    * "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
In the left column, click Plugins. Look for "Shockwave Flash" and change "Always Activate" to "Ask to Activate".
When you visit a site that wants to use the Flash, you should see a notification icon in the address bar and one of the following: a link in a black rectangle in the page or an infobar sliding down between the toolbar area and the page.
Flash might not work any better after you approve it, however...

  • Flash Player 11.4r402 has stopped working

    Please help.
I've recently insalled the new flash player and have had nothing but problems with it.
Every time I try to view videos or basically do anything I keep getting the message that Flash player has stopped working.
As my technical knoweldge has now run out I'm in need of help to fix the problem.
I'm running 32bit Windows Vista with Mozilla.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks

    1.  Sounds to me like you should keep Rapport.
    2.  I had this same issue with Flash 11.4.  What I did was revert back to 11.3, which worked just fine for me.  Follow the instructions here: http://forums.adobe.com/message/4506372#4506372 and then go to the archive (link on that page) and download this version: (Released 8/14/2012) Flash Player 11.3.300.271 (98.15 MB) [This solved this exact problem for me.]

  • IE9, Windows 7 64bit Flash causes "Internet Explorer has stopped working."

I get this error when I log on to the Sandicor web site.  If I log on using ie9 run as administrator it works.  If I disable flash it works.  It may be part of the conflict with the finger print scanner.  I worked with the IE9 team and found that Flash was causing the issue.  I have the latest version of flash.  I now need to disable flash, log on, reenable flash.

  • "Flash Player Update Service has stopped working and has closed."

First I'm using Chrome(up to date) on Vista 64. Have scanned for viruses and nothing was found.
I've been getting this persistent error that won't go away that just started happening a few days ago. I haven't installed anything recently. This happens even when Chrome isn't running so I don't know if Chrome is even an issue.
I've tried everything I could do:
    1. Re-installed Flash Player and switched between Chrome's built in and the external version.
    2. Disabling through the "services" config file (can't remember the exact thing I typed in)
    3. Deleting files in the flash player folders for EX: %appdata%\Adobe (something like that) WHICH in one of those folders is the "flashplayerupdateservice.exe" that can't be deleted.
Please help! Here's a pic of the error:

  • "Adobe Flash CS5 has stopped working" error anytime i do anything - HELP PLZ!

    Hi there,
I have used Macromedia Flash MX for many, many moons. Finally, when I got Windows 7, I was VERY excited to get updated on MX and move to Adobe Flash Professional CS5. However, i have never once been able to use this program, as it crashes pretty much every time i try to do anything. However, since my upgrade, i've noticed a lot more crashing in MX as well (i still have it installed on my old HD and have been using it to build videos rather than CS5 since it crashes less frequently). Now, i'm at my wit's end. I get the above error message when i do pretty much anything, but most recently it's EVERY time i try to select all unused files from the library. The error message i get in MX is "Flash 6.0 r25 has stopped working," but it's the same exact problem in the problem signature as CS5's:
    Problem signature:
      Problem Event Name:    APPCRASH
      Application Name:    Flash.exe
      Application Version:    11.0.0.485
      Application Timestamp:    4badda9d

      Additional Information 4:    0a9e372d3b4ad19135b953a78882e789
If i try to select "Check online for a solution," in MX it just kills out of the program, but in CS5 it gives me a second error before killing out:
    Problem signature:
      Problem Event Name:    APPCRASH
      Application Name:    Flash.exe
      Application Version:    11.0.0.485

PLEASE tell me there's a way to fix this. I've tried everything I can think of and have to get this video done in the next few days!!!! I would love to be able to start using CS5 and ditch the ancient MX on my slaved drive, but I can't get CS5 to work!
    Thanks.

    3. (Windows) Disable Compatibility Mode.
For information on compatibility mode, see Using Windows 7 or Vista compatibility mode.
Windows Compatibility Mode can cause errors to occur with Adobe Creative Suite products. To disable it, do the following:
    Navigate to C:\Program Files\Adobe\[application name].
Right-click the product application file and choose Properties.
In the Compatibility tab, deselect all options under Compatibility Mode, Settings, and Privilege Level.
Click OK, and relaunch the Adobe Creative Suite 5 product.
    4. Disable startup items and services.
Applications running in the background can prevent Creative Suite 5, CS5.5, and CS6 products from launching. For instructions on temporarily disabling these items, see the following documents:
Disable startup items and Services (Windows XP)
Restart Windows in a modified mode (Windows 7 and Windows Vista)
Start the system in Safe Boot mode (Mac OS)
    5. Log in using a new local administrative user account.
A new local administrative account can rule out network policies, corrupt profiles, and incorrectly setup administrative accounts as the cause of a failed launch. To create a local administrator account, see the following:
Windows XP: Choose Start > Help And Support and see the article "Add a new user to the computer," or contact your system administrator.
Windows Vista/Windows 7: Create new local administrator account (Windows Vista) (kb404912)
Mac OS: Creating and modifying user accounts on the Apple support website. This video demonstrates the procedure to create a Standard user account. To create an Administrator account, select Administrator in the New Accounts menu.
    6. Delete all Adobefnt*.lst files
Search for and delete all copies of the AdobeFnt*.lst file that you find on the hard disk:
(Mac OS) In the Finder, choose File > Find (Command + F).
(Windows XP) In Explorer, click the Search button (Ctrl+F).
(Windows Vista/7) In Explorer, use the search box in the upper right (Ctrl+F).
Type Adobefnt*.lst and then click the Search icon. If you have more than one hard drive, only search the system (OS) drive.
(Windows XP Search Assistant) Choose All Files and Folders. Under More advanced options select Search System Folders, Search hidden files and folders, and Search subfolders.
Click within the search results. Choose Edit > Select All, and then drag the selected files to the Trash (Mac OS) or Recycle Bin (Windows).
(Mac OS) Choose Finder > Empty Trash.
    Restart the application.
If an Adobefnt*.lst file becomes damaged, it can cause the application to crash, freeze, or quit when you try to start it. Adobefnt.lst files (for example, Adobefnt10.list for InDesign) are font cache files that Adobe applications use to quickly gather and store information about available fonts. If you delete or rename an Adobefnt.lst file, the application re-creates it the next time you start the application.
    7. Troubleshoot font issues.
Remove or disable nonessential fonts and then restart your Creative Suite application. See:
Reduce the number of active fonts (Windows XP)
Reduce the number of active fonts (Windows 7 and Windows Vista)
    Troubleshoot fonts (Mac OS)
    8. (Windows) Update your video card driver.
Download the latest driver from your video card manufacturer's website or contact the manufacturer for an updated driver.
    9. Search the knowledgebase for errors.
Search the Adobe knowledgebase for any errors that appear:
Go to the Adobe Support website and choose your product from the Select Product Support Center menu.
Type the error into the search field and click Search.
Note: Omit file paths and registry keys from the search string.
    10. Run the Adobe Support Advisor.
The Adobe Support Advisor is an AIR app that helps identify and resolve installation issues. It can also assist with errors that occur when AMT is running. For more information, see Using the Adobe Support Advisor (kb405816) and Troubleshoot launch errors using Creative Suite launch logs (cpsid_83478).
    11. Perform system troubleshooting steps
Follow the steps in Troubleshoot system errors and freezes | Adobe software on Windows (cpsid_82252) or Troubleshoot system errors and freezes | Adobe software on Mac OS (cpsid_82414).

  • 'Adobe Flash Player 11.7 r700 has stopped working'

    Hello
I am using Windows 32 bit and normally use Firefox, sometimes Windows explorer. Just in the last three weeks,  Adobe Flash Player has not been working, except strangely on two or three occasions.
    I get the following message:
(Adobe Flash Player11.7 r700 has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution
is available,) and then it crashes.
Up until about three weeks ago it has been working OK.
Any help would be much appreciated.

  • Adobe Flash Player 11.3 r300 has stopped working

I have Firefox 13.0.1, Win 7 Home Edition 64 bit, latest adobe flash player version 11.3.300.262. Latest nvidia drivers 301.42 - WHQL, 260 gtx nvidia card. I did a clean reinstall for nvidia drivers, and flash drivers, still same problem.
Everytime I go to fullscreen mode, my screen turns white and I have to left click on my mouse so the white screen goes away(otherwise the white screen hangs indefinite), I get a windows message stating adobe flash player has stopped working. After that I get send crash report for adobe.
Image to when the flash crashes. http://i.imgur.com/fX7Ld.jpg
This never happened with Adobe flash player 11.2, never. With the latest update it crashes, everytime I go fullscreen. This happens on http://www.twitch.tv streams, any livestreams. Youtube seems to be fine, when going fullscreen mode. And no, I don't have RealPlayer installed. I only have 3 addons installed and enable. Adobe Acrobat, Flash, and Silverlight, all latest editions. Everything else is disabled, or uninstalled.
I've Disabled Hardware accelartion in firefox still same problem, but with flash hardware acceleration enabled. I've tried Firefox Safe mode with all addons disabled, same problem.

  • Adobe Flash Player Installer has stopped working

I have recently gone through a lot of problems on this computer i have just now recently fixed. the computer was formated and all, and when i got onto the internet it said it the browser (both mozilla and IE) has stopped working however the problem is fixed but not with IE (it had to do with hardware acceleration). Well i went to download the newest (and ive tried older ones) version of flash player and when i start the installer after im prompted to run as admin, i immidietly get the message Adobe Flash Player has Stopped Working. Ive tried turning off the firewalls and everything please help. • Flash Player 11.5 r502 has stopped working

When Firefox 17.01 loads any web page with flash content, or I attempt to view flash video, I get the message
Adobe Flash Player 11.5 r502 has stopped working
A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.
Windows (Vista SP2 Bld6002) offers to close the program, and is sometimes successful, but frequently Firefox just hangs up as it tries to open video after video and fails. This was true for both FP 11.5.502.110 and 11.5.502.135. As a temporary measure I installed the "Disable Flash" extension from the Firefox add-on gallery. Very helpful in buying time while I tried to find a solution. So nice, in fact, that I'm keeping it.
I uninstalled FP (11.5.502.135.) and down-graded to 11.2.202.235, which has solved the problem in the same way the same downgrade solved a similar issue with FP11.3 last spring. As another user has commented, "this is not an ideal situation." OTOH, I've been running 11.2.202.235 on my desktop since the June downgrade without any problem, so I may just keep FP11.2 on the laptop, too.
I gather that Adobe has not fixed the issue yet, since I see FP11.5.502.135 still being offered as the current version. Here is the laptop's MSinfo summary. I can email a full msinfo if it will help you find the problem.

Nope, no reply, but I really don’t expect much over the holiday.
I was poking around in Event Viewer in my Vista laptop and found that FP11.5.502.110 was faulting (eventID1000),  crashed (evetnID1001), Firefox hung (event ID1001), then “firefox.exe version 17.0.1.4715 stopped interacting with Windows and was closed” (eventid 1002). These quartets continued anytime I tried a Flashy page or tried to run a Flash video.  There were also lots of Firefox crash reports during that time, naming FP11.5.502.110.
Those symptom disappeared with FP11.5.502.135, replaced by those never-ending monologue boxes telling me that “Flash Player has stopped working” every time Firefox tried to load Flash content. Firefox, however, did not lock up –it was just inaccessible while I tried to catch up with those annoying monologues. The Event Viewer showed duets of  “FlashPlayerPlugin_11_5_502_135.exe, version 11.5.502.135, time stamp 0x50b849af, faulting module GIDHook.dll, version 3.0.0.168” (eventID1000), followed by an APPCRASH (eventid 1001). Firefox also had a lot of crash reports naming FP11.5.502.135, but Firefox itself never crashed.
All that ended when I downgraded to 11.2.202.235, which I happened to have lying around. Works fine, although Firefox addons warns me that I lack necessary protection against whatever because I'm running a downgrade. Tradeoffs. Guess I'll have to trust Norton.
I’m not going to experiment with my desktop, but I found that my Toshiba netbook (Windows 7 Starter SP1, current updates, Flash Player 11.5.502.110) is very slow loading pages with flash content, slow to respond to the “play” button, but no crashes relating to FF or FP in either Event Viewer or Firefox crash reports.
Upgrading netbook to FP11.5.502.135. Pages with flash content load faster, as do flash videos. Much better, No crashes, no monolgue boxes, no complaints. Maybe that's what 135 was for. Too bad it didn't fix the Flash Player crashes.
I found the post from Overall_Genossenschaft (http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1109389?tstart=0 post20) interesting. The netbook  fits the profile of Overall’s Work Station1 which has no issues with 110 and 135. Neither does my netbook. (Except I can’t find “Flashutil_11_5_502_110_ActiveX.dll”.  I should have looked before the upgrade.)
Somebody earlier siggested that Adobe's array ofg test machines is too vanilla. Overall's findings suggest that may be true.I stand ready to send in any report they want. All they need to do is ask.
I hope Adobe finds the problem soon. Good luck in your own search, sarahg.

  • 11.7.700.169 Error: "Adobe Flash Player 11.7 r700 has stopped working" -- HELP!!!

I have encountered this problem many times now. Way to many to be anywhere near happy about. I can understand having an issue with it and looking up stuff on my smart phone instead. But this program is also affecting my online game World of Warcraft. I'm not happy.
Anytime I open any program that uses the flashplayer, I get the pop up window of "Adobe Flash Player 11.7 r700 has stopped working", and then it force closes.
I have repeatedly removed it, re-installed, you name it. It's not working.
    Here's my information:
    Browser:     Mozilla Firefox (20.0.1)
Player:        Adobe Flash Player 11 (11.7.700.169)
System:       Windows 7, Vista Home Edition with Service Pack 1
Computer:  eMachine T525, AMD Athlon BE-2350 Processor, NVIDIA GeForce 3100, 320 GB hard drive
I have read other people having this issue, and reviewed the information given. 1 Adobe reply to the same issue as mine to a different person was:
    1. Chris Campbell,

    Report
To help troubleshoot we'll need the following system information:
    Browser
    Exact Flash   Player version
    Steps to reproduce the problem
When reporting issues with video or audio, it's also helpful to get your system hardware and driver details.  Instructions for finding this information can be found here:
    Windows
    Mac
Finally, sometimes video and audio problems are caused at a lower level and not directly related to Flash Player.  I recommend trying both of the links below to see how they perform.  If the problem exists with both, then Flash Player is most likely not the culprit as the HTML5 video link does not use Flash Player when playing.  You can verify the use of HTML5 by right clicking the HTML5 video and looking for the words "About HTML5" at the bottom of the context menu.
    HTML5   video
    Non-HTML5 video
I did the test at the bottom of this person's reply to test if I was having an issue with the HTML5 or not.  Both the 'HTML5 video' and 'Non-HTML5 video' ran perfectly fine for me.
Please help! I'm losing my mind with this program! I've been having to deal with this for months now, and am getting really annoyed, and frustrated, especially since my calm down and chilling time after work, kids, and family is my playing WoW, and I can't even do that!

I think you are hitting a known bug in 11.7.700.169
Either install an earlier version from http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/archived-flash-player-versions.html
or wait until the new version is released later this week.
