Flash 7 and flash 8

I would like to use Flash 7 but i get this error:

And Flash 8 gets rid of the error, but gives me a really dark
bold font, its horrible... I am using papyrus as the font

You need to enable Restriction to change the settings in there.
You can disable again it after you've done.

Adobe Flash and Flash based Video Players and the ps command

OK, I have two v20z servers. I just reinstalled Solaris 08/07 on both of them. These are both Sunray servers. One of the servers is fully patched and has SRSS 4.0 installed and serving Sunrays just nicely. I just finished installing Solaris on the 2nd server.
On the first one I'm not sure what whacked things, the patches or SRSS
If I go to a site with a flash based video player like youtube, Firefox or Mozilla will freeze untill the video is fully streamed.
Also on this server the "ps" command is super slow. I like to do ps -efa|grep whatever to find processes. This unbearably slow on this 1st server.
On the 2nd server I haven't yet patched it or installed SRSS. I think though it's the patches and not SRSS
On this server the Flash 7 that comes preinstalled works fine on streaming videos. It also works fine with Flash version 9,0,47,0. I even copied the 9,0,47,0 version of flash from the server that where flash is freezing, so it's not flash that is the problem I don't think.
Normal flash animations work fine, it's just flash based streaming video players.
Something after patching seems to have done this
Anyone else have a really slow ps and flash that freezes the browser while watching videos?

No sound with Flash and flash players..

I've just installed Flash 8 and the player for my intel based
mac and the sound worked for a few hours, I could hear sound both
in the fla and swf, but then suddenly it didn't work and there is
no sound with Flash at all, not through a browser or anything (all
other file types and sound in general work on machine). Very
frustrating, any ideas of what can cause it? I've reinstalled Flash
and no luck so far and it's HOT and sweaty in Oslo..

First thing to try is to reset your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. See if that fixes your problem.
If that doesn't help Make an appointment at an Apple Store to have your device examined by a technician. Or contact Apple Support.

Plug-in failure with OS 10.7.5 Also FLASH and Flash Player not re-installing

Getting notice of plug-in faillure wtih CC install Flash and also with YouTube... New. Is there an compatabilty problem with the latest iteration of Flash/Playr?
Is there any other source of Plug-in failure problem?

I expect there is a simple explanation for this and also a
simple solution.
I am using Flash 2004MX , XP, Internet Explorer 7 (IE7),
Opera 9.1
I have created a quiz using the provided template, and I want
to add to my website which I am making xhtml 1.1 compatable or when
that is too much bother for a page that may soon chage xhtml 1.0
transitional/strict.
That is where my problems start.
If I use the 'publish from Flash MX' pages in IE 7 all works
OK in Opera 9.1 I just get passed to the alternate page.
If I use my xhtml w3w valid version in IE 7 if the alrternate
page is in the html I get that page and a message telling me to
upgrade to latest version of flash (I have done this for IE 7 and
Opera).
If I take out the alternat page divert then in IE & all
versions of code work.
With the alternate page code present <meta
http-equiv="refresh" content="3;url=Tickbox_alternate.html" />
in then only the generated code works and that is not even W3W
compliant at xhtml transitional level.
Is the some valid (by W3W validation) published pages code?
PS Firefox is similar to IE 7.

Can anyone tell me whether installing Flex is necessary and what is its use?

Flex is not an IDE for flash per se.
There are two products which the link is talking about.
One if Flash Professional which is an IDE used to develop Flash Applications - which you will need in order to build client-side of workflow with FMS.
Second is Flex - it says Flex SDK or Flex Builder. Flex Builder is again an IDE which you used to develop RIA Applications which again applications which can used as clients for FMS.

Flash and Flash Player stopped working

My wife was working on the dotphoto.com website that used Flash. She did something that made it so that when we try to play a Show (dotphoto/s name for a slideshow) we just get a black screen. She did this on her MAC desktop machine (G5 iMac with OS 105.8). I tried to play the Show on my MAc Book Pro (Intel) with OS 10.5.8 and I now have the same problem on my machine.
The desktop machine only has Flash Player. The labtop has Flash CS3 Pro. I also realized that now when i download a .flv file from youtube to my laptop, it no longer will play in Flash, although i can play it in Quicktime with Perian plugin. I have downloaded Flash Player CS5 and I still can't play the .flv files, that used to play fine.
Any idea what could have gone wrong. Is there a preference or cache file that I could delete to see if it resets the software. Is there a way that I can download a clean version of Flash 9.0 and load it over the one that is already installed in order to reset it?

I have the very same problem. Ever since upgrading to 24.0 I can no longer view YouTube videos on Firefox. I have no trouble with other browsers (IE and Chrome) and I can view the Flash home page. I've tried the suggestions and they do not work. Please fix!!

When I login to yahoo mail it flashes and will not completely connect?

I may have somehow disabled my ability to connect to mail in my tools area. I can get to my yahoo, but when I sign in to look at mail it is blank and flashes the connect and looks like its trying to load every piece of info on the tab area?

My MacBook was acting weird so I restarted it and when I login a white screen flashes and goes back to the login page. Help?

My MacBook was acting weird like sometimes I would log on and I wouldn't be able to type my password for a couple seconds,but it usually logged in after that. Then I left my computer open after installing the recent update after that all my applications were not responding. So I shut it down, when I turned it back on about an hour later it went to this loading screen and then to the login like usual. After I tried logging in a white screen flashed and it went back to the login/ password screen like nothing happened. Any ideas on what happened and what I can do to fix it?

Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the main menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion: Select Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion and click on the Continue button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.

My animated gif keeps pausing in captivate and flash

Hi guys, thanks for your help.
I made an animated gif in Photoshop CS4 and inserted it as an animation into captivate 6. The animation works (I played it several times by opening it with internet explorer and safari). But when I open it in Captivate the animation goes black for a split second-several times, before it reappears-several times. It gives it almost a "reloading" or pause look when I play it. The same in flash, but in Adobe Flash CS4 Professional the timeline shows black dots once in a while, as you can see in the screen shot below.
See those black dots? I will insert a picture of what happens, when the player lands on one of those black dots:
It's the same animation, but only shows a little. Like I said, it plays fine when I open it with an internet browser, it plays fine when I play it in photoshop, but it just won't work with flash or captivate.

No problem. Building a simple animation in Flash isn't that bad. You could save each "frame" as an image from PhotoShop and then import these into Flash and place one frame at the time on a keyframe in the flash timeline (press F6 to insert a keyframe).
If you want your animation to loop then you don't have to do anything as this is the default behavior. If you want it to stop at the last frame you insert a command in ActionScript to stop it. Select the last keyframe and hit F9 and type stop() in the ActionScript window.

On a computer running Windows 8 Enterprise, Adobe Reader 11.0.03, and Flash Player 11.8.800.94, I am unable to open a flash-enabled PDF. Reader gives me the error "To view the Flash technology content in this PDF file, please install this version of Flash Player that supports Adobe Reader and Acrobat." Adobe's Flash verification page shows me that Flash Player is working, and I can open other basic PDFs in Reader. I have another machine with an identical setup, except that it has Acrobat 11.0.03 instead of Reader, and the PDF opens just fine on that machine. Why won't Reader open the Flash-enabled PDF?

Adobe 'fixes' for Flash and Dreamweaver

According to what I've been reading, Adobe added fixes to
Dreamweaver 8.02 to deal with the Active Content problem created by
Microsoft when Flash animations are embedded in web pages. Since I
have an earlier version of Dreamweaver and Flash and am having
problems like everyone else with that issue, would some 8.02 user
kindly inform me if this is indeed the case, and what does one do
in the new version to ensure Flash active content runs as intended?
Is it something that one must still manually add to the code in an
.html file, is the correction added automatically, is there an icon
to press....just how is the new feature/fix used and incorporated?

Basically after you update if you add a flash file you get
this code added to the html file:

You dont really have to do anything other then remember to
