Flash 8 player for linux

I have red the article here:
http://www.kaourantin.net/2005/12/flash-player-8-for-linux-update.html
It was written in December 22, 2005.
Till now it is not ready?!
Apple ported MacOSx to Intel faster than Adobe ports Flash
Player to Linux....
Very hard to believe. It seems like nobody works on player8
for linux. :(

I guess it is! ;)

  • Security updates for 11.2 Flash Player for Linux?

When attempting to download an update for 11.2 Flash Player for Linux, I saw the note saying that there would be no new development, but security backfixes would continue to be released. I've seen the security warnings for months on my Linux install in Firefox (which is updated) but there does not seem to be a security patch that would stop these "Allow - Continue Blocking" warnings for Flash Player.
When can we expect these to be completed? Linux users may not comprise a large portion of your user base, but the alternatives are extremely expensive hardware and/or software if you want to use an Apple or Microsoft product.

I chose "Yum for Linux" and the file that was downloaded was:
    adobe-release-x86_64-1.0-1.noarch.rpm
I see now that if I select the "rpm for Other Linux" it downloads the flash-player rpm complete with the version info, so perhaps the Yum version is a wrapper. I assumed that since Fedora (and Redhat/etc) uses yum, that I should download the YUM version... in order for it to take effect, I had to perform the following commands after downloading the above rpm:
    sudo yum remove adobe-release-x86_64-1.0-1.noarch
    sudo yum localinstall adobe-release-x86_64-1.0-1.noarch.rpm
    sudo rpm --import /etc/pki/rpm-gpg/RPM-GPG-KEY-adobe-linux
    sudo yum -y install flash-plugin
That allowed me to get the newer version of Flash player to show (and no longer receive the security warnings) but it seems if I had used the Other for Linux download that I wouldn't have had to take those extra steps. I guess we'll find out when the next security update to flash player is released.

  • Why can't I find Adobe Flash Player for Linux/Firefox 4

I can't figure out how to get Adobe Flash or Shockwave player for Firefox 4. Running Ubuntu 10.04 and when I try to find them in add-ins for FF4 there seems to be nothing. I am not the world's most experienced Linux guy but since Flash and Shockwave are so common it seems curious that they don't have them as add-ins for FF4. Maybe I'm just so far off track on this one it may be the dumbest question anyone has ever asked. But what the heck, you never know the answer if you don't ask the question.
    Thanks!

There is no flash player for the iphone and Adobe would be the one to develop one, not Apple. And there are no plugins to install instead, as far as I know.

  • Standalone flash player for linux full screen?

    hi all,
just wondering (as I couldn't find any option in readme file,

version) from command line straight to full screen,

  • 64bit Adobe flash player for Linux and BSD

  • Flash player for small linux device

    Hi forum,
I'm working with small linux devices and I'm having a very
decent restriction on the Compactflash / harddisk size. Is there a
small stand-alone flash player for linux which plays at least
Flash4? The player should have less than 1.5 MB in size. Therefore
flash player 9 from adobe is not an option.
I've tried the stand alone player version 6 from adobe, but
this player is too much buggy on the linux basis we use.
Any hints or suggestions would be appreciated.
    Kind regards.

Hi, I'm not familiar with Linux, but this link has the system requirements for Flash Player 9.
    http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/productinfo/systemreqs/flashplayer9/
Flash Player is a browser plug in and works thru your browser, so check and see what browser and version is needed for FP version 9.
It appears that Flash Player 8 is not supported for Linux, at least it wasn't listed.

  • Update flash player for adnroid

    Hello!
Ask me, please: is there new version of flash player (11.6) for android?
Many sites say: "Your flash player is old, update it". But Adobe offers new player for Windows, Mac and Linux only...

Flash Player for Android is no longer available. For more information, see here:
    http://blogs.adobe.com/flashplayer/2012/06/flash-player-and-android-up date.html
Android users can still download and install Flash Player from the Archived Flash Player Versions page on the Adobe website.

  • 64 bit Flash Player for Windows

Just in case anyone at Adobe actually reads this forum (which I doubt).
Why is it taking so long for Adobe to release a 64 bit Flash Player for Windows. 64 bit computing has been readily available to purchase for nearly three years now (Linux even longer). What are they doing at Adobe?. Is it because they think there is not enough money in it for them?
What a sad state of affairs.

I have now been waiting over a year for a 64 Bit Windows flash player that will work on IE8.
I have had a 64 bit computer for two plus years and cannot understand the reluctance by the software market providers to support the ever increasing 64 bit community. Its rediculous it seems that they will not write these programs as there are not so many people using 64 bit and there are not so many people going for 64 bit because there are not so many 64 bit pieces of software out there.
I believe that it is up to the softawre writers to take the lead. Adobe being one of them. They are supposed to be a leading edge software provider yet they appear not to be able to provide 64 bit software, or at least not in this decade.
If you google 64 bit flash player it comes back with 14 million hit requests - surely 14 million is enough for Adobe to think about actually realeasing something.
I use Windows 7 64 Bit OS and it is the best OS I have used to date - rock steady and dam fast. I use IE8 64 bit as a browser and Firefox 32 bit so I can use flash. I have been having problems with the latest release of Firefox (3.5) so tend to use the IE8 more - this is very fast - But no Flash available!!!!!
It has been a very long time now - come on Adobe there are enough people out there wanting it - give us a date for a 64 bit Windows Flash player - preferably before then end of the year (2009) rather than the end of the decade - thanks guys!

  • Flash Player for Solaris - And J2SE 6.0 for Solaris

    Hello,
The current version of flash player for Solaris is 7.0.67.0. For Windows it is 9.0.45.0. What gives? Is Adobe just giving up on Solaris? Now, in Firefox and Mozilla for Solaris, imbedded videos on web pages such as www.nytimes.com will not display, apparently due to the ancient version of Flash for Solaris.
Also, does anyone know when and the new java runtime j2se 6.0 will be released as a patch for Solaris 10? The patches are 118666 and 118667.
    Thank you.....

From Adobe Lans web site above:
Adobe Labs is currently featuring prerelease versions of the Flash Player 9 Update software. This update includes enhancements and bug fixes for Windows, Macintosh, and Linux versions of Flash Player 9. Please see the release notes for more information regarding this prerelease technology. The prerelease program for Flash Player 9 for Solaris is closed at this time, and Solaris versions of Flash Player 9 will be available shortly from Adobe.com.

  • URGENT - adobe flash player for iproducts ?

    Dear Adobe,
Hello, i urgently need 'Adobe Flash Player', for my ipod touch. So please, can someone make an flash player app, or what should i do ?
    Thank you ~ Hughy Dee

as stated previously, your ipod touch device does not support flash player.  there's nothing that can be done in that regard.  your alternative is to use a desktop (Linux/Solaris/Mac/Windows) browser or device that does support the player.
refer to this list for devices:
