Flash 8 Professional cannot start

I am in the trial mode of Flash8 (19 days left). It worked
fine in the first couple of days. But now when I start the
application, I got this error message:
"Flash 8 has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are
sorry for the inconenience."
Then I uninstall the software, reboot, re-install. Same error
message still came back.
What can I do to make it work?
Thanks!

I had the same problem and found that Quick Time was the
culprit. Uninstalled QT and Flash loaded right up. I completely
uninstalled all QT applications, went to www.apple.com/quicktime
and downloaded and installed the latest version (7.x at this time).
Once installed I re-launched Flash 8 and it loaded fine. Probably
could have just unistalled/reinstalled and it would have worked
fine, but thought I might as well upgrade while I was at it.

  • I need help migrating an existing project from Flash Professional CS6 to Flash Builder 4.6.

I have followed tutorials...instructions on the web...all I get are unsolvable errors.
I have a large Air application that compiles fine and works in Flash. However I would like to take advantage of the as3xls api which does not work in Flash Professional (for no reason in particular the internet just tells me it won't work because Flash Professional cannot access some part of the Flex framework).
So I want to make my project work in Flash Builder. However, when I attempt to reference my document class, flash builder gives me an error telling me the package path com.andrewbefus.ModelMapper no longer works. It does this no matter how I select the folder to reference my document class. If I change the path to nothing...Flash Builder is happy with my document class and unhappy with every other class I have made.
Then I decided to make a new Flash Builder ActionScript file and simply replace the ModelMapper.as document class that Flash Builder created with my completed ModelMapper.as. After some messing around with paths and directories, I got Flash Builder to be happy with my program structure but then all hell broke loose on almost every single Class outside the Flash Builder framework. One by one I attempted to tell Flash Builder where to go to get my components, fl.motion classes, and my custom classes but Flash Builder refused to recognise them unless I reference the folder containing the files, and then proceeded to tell me that the project path of every single class needed to be changed. I imagine if I spend the rest of my day mucking around with this something else will come up.
I went looking for a tutorial explaining how to migrate a Flash Professional project over to Flash Builder. The closest thing I could come up with told me to just select my fla. file by going Project<Flash Professional<Create project using Fla file... which worked great except refused to compile my project as a desktop application for no sane reason - giving no option to select my project when I attempted to create a new Run Configuration.
    One frustration after another....

I've also followed all the instructions here:
    http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/activation-network-issues.html
    Still no luck...

  • The Error Message 'Application descriptor file cannot be parsed' shows when compiling (Ctrl + Enter) Adobe AIR for Android applications on Flash Professional CS5.5

The Error Message 'Application descriptor file cannot be parsed' shows when compiling (Ctrl + Enter) Adobe AIR for Android applications on Flash Professional CS5.5
This is happening for most of the pupils and staff at our school and they are unable to complete their work.
This also happens on a fresh copy of windows and CS5.5 without any updates and also with all latest updates.
I have tried it on 32-bit and 64-bit CS5, Windows, Air and Java with the same error every time.
There are a small minority of users where this works fine for them with no issue.
I have tried re-setting user profiles.
I have tried a local admin and domain admin account with the same issue
I have noticed however that if the file is moved to the shared area it will compile. If it is on their documents area it will not compile. The users have full control in both locations. This is fine for staff but we are unable to give full control or modify access to the shared area for the pupil's
I have been through the online support section and it directed me to phone Adobe Customer care who informed me that all support has been discontinued for CS5, CS5.5 and CS6 and they will only support creative cloud.
Any ideas what to try next? There is no other information about this error and I cannot work out what is causing it.

I have tried and  able to package an apk using your XML file.Could you please make sure your XML file starting from line 1 and coloumn 0.Any space will results in the error (Application Descriptor file cannot be parsed)

I cannot start my Powermac g5, with OS X 10.4.11; startup light (which you can see under DVDrom drive) flashes six times; I have 4 GB RAM, I have tried to change the  memory bars in different position or remove 1 couple but no change; I have also tried to install the hard drive system in another mac and from there I could well open the drive and see all  the files; then I put the drive back on my machine but computer does not start.
    Can anyone help ?

    Hello,
1 beep = no RAM installed
2 beeps = incompatible RAM types
3 beeps = no good banks
4 beeps = no good boot images in the boot ROM (and/or bad sys config block)
5 beeps = processor is not usable
In addition to the beeps, on some computers the power LED will flash a corresponding number of times plus one. The LED will repeat the sequence after approximately a 5-second pause. The tones are only played once.
Note: In this case, a flash is considered to be 1/4 second or 250 ms or greater in length.

  • Flash Professional CS5.5 won't start

    Hi there
I have Flash Professional CS 5.5 on a Windows 7 32bit operating system.
I don't know what happened but a few days a go when I tried running flash professional it wont start.
It shows the "Loading screen" when it's about to open the main windows it hangs. It shows the main windows all white. And mouse cursor is "processing", when I try to close windows says the program it's not responding.
I tried Unnistalling the flash profesisonal and installing it again but no changes.
How can I debug what is happening? Are there any recovery or cache files files  that I can delete?

Try this link http://forums.adobe.com/message/2985484#2985484 It worked for me.

  • Flash Professional CS5 fails to start

    Hello,
I've bought the new Adobe Web Premium CS5 and I have big problems with the Flash Professional CS5.
First time the application started correctly, but didn't start next time. I always had to remove all application settings in
"Documents and Settings/user/Local Settings/Application Data/Flash CS5", what is already not very good.
    Any help/suggestion?
    Thanks,
    Michal

I agree, but I have hundreds of fonts that I use. And all are 100%
compatible. (Fontfolio, Linotype). I do not have time to test that
particular font that makes the problem.
Yeah, I agree too, it's really the fastest solution I only like to have some more clean solution. I've simply removed all non default fonts, even if all were ok.
Perhaps one problem is the slow loading of fonts, but a few seconds.
That is all. Maybe it would like to direct expression of Adobe's what
    the file is.
Yes, maybe slow loading, but I had only about 300 fonts, not so much. And other apps from CS5 are working perfect, so I guess, it's only Flash issue.
    Let's wait for Adobe.

my question is why would one rather use HTML5 to create and edit animation over flash? I would personally rather have the visual interface than the text editor. Or did I miss something? What are the benefits other than separation of work duties (e.g., designer/developer).
