Flash 8 Proffesional OS X keeps crashing
Hello,
I have some serious problems with Flash 8 Proffesional on my
mac. The main thing is that with certain simple actions the entire
program stops working... the only thing it shows is the colorweel.
This will go on for a few minutes, then I go to the next step and
then we start again with the colorweel...
- When I try to embed a font for a dinamic textbox I get the
colorweel
- When I try to create a new MC by using the F8 key, I get
the colorweel...
I have to force quit Flash everytime so it makes it
impossible for me to use. I went back to Flash MX 2004, but I
really want to get this fixed. Does anyone know if there's a
solution for this? I couldn't find updates or bugfixes to change
this on the Adobe site.

I don't have this same problem, but when I do publish (using
cmd F12) a test html page for a swf movie multiple times without
saving changes, Flash (also 8 pro) simply disappears. Sometimes
this happens even if I do save after every change.
I'm running OS X (10.4.7) on both my dual G5 desktop and my
G4 laptop. Both have same issue.

I also upped the memory however it always gets very close to maximum allocation. It is not crashing as much however if I close flashbuilder it takes ages to load the workbench in. Are you on windows 7 also?

Please try the following way:
1.Open "Start", then in the "Start Search" bar input "regedit", then click "Enter"
2.In the opened "Registry Editor", find the key "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> SOFTWARE -> Macromedia -> FlashPlayer -> SafeVersions" and delete it.
3.Download the latest Flash Player from http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/, and install it.

Adobe flash player and shockwave keeps crashing
why cant you not fix this issue with all games on facebook and zynga games as it keeps crashing and freezing and we have to send a report every 5 minutes to you guys this is getting nothing but a pain in our butts either you fix the problems or be reported to the better bussiness office you need to fix this asap every time we play games it stops and says send report to adobe which we do all the time this has been going on for about 9 months now and it nothing but a pain in my arse you guys are making me sick you update it all the time, but you never have a fix you need to have a fix for windows 7 and windows 8. i bet all you guys that do updates for the flash player i bet any money you guys are just drinking coffee and eating donuts and on your phones you guys are nothing but a f----------- joke

flash player keeps crashing on chrome
hi,
I am having the same frustrating problem, with Chrome, RockMelt and Chromium. They all repeatedly crash and I get the same banner that shockwave player has crashed. I have tried disabling one of the two shockwaves after typing about:plugins and that didn't work. It's not a problem in Safari or Firefox. I did type About:flash and got this which I will paste below in casethat is helpful.

Anytime means editing, building, switching workspace, closing Flash Builder.
Windows Event Viewer recognized this error as "Application Error" and detail information as following:

Thanks for reading this discussion~~I've been seeing what sounds like a similar problem (Windows application "BEX" error when attempting to close Flash Builder via its [X] icon).
(Win 7 Enterprise, SP1, 64-bit, i5 + 8GB RAM), Flash Builder 4.6, Java 1.7.0_07)
I tried the following:
-- Launching Tour de Flex (from the task bar icon), and then updating AIR to the latest version
-- Right-clicking on the Flash Builder task bar icon and then selecting "Run as Administrator"
-- Right-clicking on the Flash Builder task bar icon and then selecting "Troubleshoot compatability", then applying the compatability fixes it suggested.
Somewhere along the way, the problem went away. I then ran the compatability troubleshooter again and (I think) removed the compatability changes (since windows security was asking me whether I want to let the application update my computer every time I launched FlashBuilder--annoying!).
The problem still appears to be fixed--but only with a whole ten minutes testing. I'll just have to see if the above is really a fix/work-around. -
Fresh Firefox install, Adobe Flash keeps crashing.
My Firefox browser keeps having problems with the Adobe Flash plugin as it keeps crashing.
It is a clean FF install with only a few plugins like my password manager and ABP, i have not changed any settings, it did this from the start so there is nothing to go back to.
Some pages suggest disabling hardware acceleration but this to me is just not an option. If you, for example, fullscreen anyhing of a sub-optimal resolution it looks absolutely horrible as there is no smoothing of edges and such. I'd rather have an actual fix for this problem that is not such and awful compromise that should not be made in the first place.
I've switched from Chrome and that never gave me any headaches. But then chrome didn't insist on using flash for Youtube which has HTML5 support these days. Maybe that is a also something that needs looking into.I have been able to convince youtube to use HTML5 instead of Adobe Crash, you can do that here: https://www.youtube.com/html5.
Have not yet found any limitations with doing this so this should solve the problem on Youtube at least. Ofcourse this is merely walking around the actual problem. -
Adobe Flash 11.14 plugin has crashed
I have searched the internet and seen the posts on this site regarding crashes in Firefox, but I have tried all the methods (even though they relate to 11.3 and I have 11.14). My Firefox 14 is up to date and so is flash plugin but it keeps crashing constantly. I also have Google Chrome installed on my Windows 7.

Did you recently upgrade Flash from 12 to 13?<br>
There have been issues reported with the 13.0.0.182 version of the Flash plugin crashing on some older Mac computers due to the compiler generating incompatible code.
The only way to recover is to uninstall the Flash 13 version and revert to an older Flash version and wait for Adobe to release an update that addresses this issue.

You can either install the latest Flash 11.7 version that has the latest security updates (may not work with Safari) or the last Flash 12 version that didn't get the security updates Flash 13 has.

I have Adobe Flash cs4 and cs5.5. I jump back and forth in attempt to bypass crashes.
My situation is not ordinary. I'm working on a huge project. So huge that Flash has literearlly crashed on me 1,000+ times. (Don't worry adobe, I LOVE your products so much, You guys are the best ever.)
When it crashes, I recieve messages about "not enough memory".
If Flash could go 64 bit, maybe the problem would be solved? I need to finish this project asap. I beg you, please help me.
Right now it's crashing while I try to export. Currently, with CS5.5 it crashes whiel I try to open the monster files. But with CS4, those same monster files open fine. Every action is a gamble. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't. I'm real scared. I've spent months on this project, this is my life basically.
And for it to constantly die in front of my eyes...it kills me inside.
How can I overclock Adobe Flash?

By defualt it was only at 10mb for memory cache size limit, so it ran out of memory every time I tried to export as a Quicktime movie since I had a bunch of high-res PSDs in my movie. I upped it to 200mb and works perfectly now.

.fla file is 353 mb. (if I decreased it, would that help?)I just received some horrifying news from Adobe about my production suite. I just FINALLY learned today that what I've been trying to do for over a week now - CAN'T be done because of compatability issues involving updates of both Adobe & Microsucks Winders!!! I sincerely hope this is not your problem. Mine is ALMOST HOPELESS!! Being in this HOPELESS Obamma economy,,,, leaves NO STIMULUS in which to currently upgrade everything that needs upgraded for me to fully use my INVESTMENT in Adobe Suite - sad, horrible and SICKENING!!!
