Flash 8 - trying to export as Quicktime

Hi - I am trying to export a flash movie as a qucktime file
.mov - I am working in Flash 8 - when I go to export it says
"The version selected in the Flash settings is not supported
by QuickTime. Please se the Flash version in the publish setting to
5 or lower."
When I choose 5 or lower it still doesn't work - has anyone
run into this problem.
Thanks - Eric

This is the exact problem I am having, I will be following
this thread. I'm also having the same problem with Flash MX, which
leads me to believe it is a Quicktime issue. Any thoughts?
Thanks!

  • Trying to Export to Quicktime Movie.

I have tried several times to export to Quicktime but nothing
happens. The progress bar shows Recording movie and then freezes. I
have tried renaming the file in a different name as I heard there
were issues with this, but still no joy. Can anyone help me
    pleaseeee!

I am trying to export a movie from QuickTime Pro to an an AVI file
AVI is just a container ... specifically, which codec are you using when exporting? And why export to AVI?
QuickTime gives me the option to save the video straight from the web, but as soon as I turn off my AirPort it tells me that I need internet to continue watching the movie
That usually means that your system doesn't have the codec installed needed to view the video, but your web browser is using a plugin that does. What format are the web videos? Flash?

  • Flash 8 won't export to quicktime

I've had issues with Flash before, but this is the first
problem that has actually been *insane*. I'm trying to export some
animated scenes to QuickTime movies (exporting as an .avi gives
horrible quality no matter what the settings are), and I get an
    error message:
"The installed version of QuickTime does not support this
    type of Macromedia Flash movie.
Quicktime requires Macromedia Flash version 5 or before.
Please select "Version: Flash Player 5" in the Flash tab of
    the Publish Settings dialog."
Now the annoying part is, I've already set the version to
Flash 5 in the Publish Settings dialog. And every time I get this
message I check the settings again to make sure the version did in
fact "stick" and hasn't switched itself back somehow. It hasn't.
I've set the version to Flash 5 just like the error message told me
to ... and it tells me I have to set the version to Flash 5.
Is the problem with Quicktime and not Flash? I tried updating
that and it still asks me to set the version to Flash 5 (which it
already is). Do I need to find an older version of Quicktime?
    Someone PLEASE help.

I'm having the same exact problem. I thought maybe it was due
to one of those automatic updates or swamp gas.........

  • Media Encoder CC2014.2 crash on windows when trying to export when quicktime is installed

    Hi,
I'm trying to export .mov files (created on random Mac computers in very hi-res) to reduce file size, and have the same output format. (possibly 1080p H.264-> .mp4)
I installed Media Encoder cc2014.2 on my pc (win7, 64bits, french).
When I first tested, Only the audio was being exported. But I soon realized I didn't had the proper codec installed on my PC.
(I wasn't able to play the original video file, only the audio was playing).
So, like a good boy I installed Apple Quicktime (7.76.80.95)
With quicktime on my PC I was able to play the original video file. (with quicktime player)
So I opened Media Encoder again, and on the preview this time I can see the video with the sound. But as soon as I start the coding (the little green arrow) Adobe Media Encoder crash.
I have tried multiple output format, it always crash right when I start exporting the file.
I uninstalled Quicktime, and media encoder is working again ... but my original files (.mov) can't be exported with video, only the sound.
I have tried a third party codec (K-Lite), I can see the video+sound on my pc, but Media Encoder is still blind, no video, only the sound.
Is there a way to add codec to Media encoder without having to install Quicktime?
Or a way to make Media Encoder work on my PC when Quicktime is installed?
btw I'm sorry if my text is a bit confusing, I'm french speaking
    Thank's in advance!

    The Error is back!!!
Yesterday it worked today it crashes when I export from premiere via media encoder. I tried it with all the things you told me:
    1. Bars+Tone => export => crash
    2. Video Project with 2 short h264-files => export => crash
    3. Software only renderer => crash
These are the two logs that I found:

  • Digital noise flashes in video when exporting a Quicktime.

FCP 6.06 - When exporting an SD QT for use in IDVD, I end up with flashes of multicolor video noise that is one or two frames long. Happened most recently four times in a thirty minute video. Source video is a variety of SD formats, Mini DV and DV/DVCPro. Anyone else see it or know who to fix it?

They are on the export. When I export again, they are in different places. Usually I can get a clean export after two or three tries if I bring the QT in and replace the glitches with the original timeline. Not an optimal fix I know. I have tried it with two different macs so the problem must be in the external drives or the cables as you suggest. This is an ongoing, years long contract and the media is spread over 5 drives.
I guess my next move would be to figure out if the glitched scenes all come from one specific drive or cable chain. Make sense?
Or I could spend money and consolidate all of the footage on one new modern Firewire 800 drive to go with my new Mac. Business doesn't quite allow too many expenditures right now unfortunately.

  • When trying to export to quicktime in imovie '09 it gives the osstatus error -2000?

I am using iMovie '09 and when I try to export the project to quicktime, it gives me the osstatus error -3000.  Can anyone help me understand why this is happening??

    It's 720 x 540. MPEG-4 Video, MPEG Layer 3, MPEG-4 AAC. Hope this helps.
Okay, this is going to require additional information for analysis. QT 7 Pro "Properties" window screen capture might solve the iTunes issue—i.e., a screen capture data like this...
However, the video matter may be more of an issue. With MPEG-4 and H.264 codecs you sometimes need to know the Profile, Level, data rate, etc. to ensure the encoded data meets certain codec standards. For instance, are you referring to a non-AVC MPEG-4 ASP Level 5 encode with a data rate less than 8 Mbps?

  • FCE seems to be freezing up when trying to export to Quicktime Conversion

I've been working on a FCE project that comes in at 14 minutes or so. But when I try to export it with best video settings and normal audio, it stops rendering at 20%, even as the estimated time continues to climb. - (I cancelled when it got to two hours.!)
I assume I somehow messed up the settings, but after three tries, all "freezing" at 20%, with the same result, I figure I better ask for some help.
    Craig

    Thanks Al,
Well, after lots of different tries, I got it to work. I think it might have had something to do with having the INTERNET STREAMING box checked, when I didn't need that..?
However, I just noticed a TINY, green .., house(?) at a certain point, right above the timeline. Any idea what that is...?

  • Help! Have been trying to export a quicktime of my film on FCP 7

If you have any still images in the Sequence, make sure they are in 'RGB' Color Mode - not in 'Grayscale,' 'CMYK' or 'Indexed' Color Mode.

  • Trouble exporting to quicktime

I created a new keynote file using keynote08 trial version and tried to export in quicktime.
However, new slide transitions are not exporting as shown in keynote.
Is it just me only, or exclusively to trial version?
    Is anyone experiencing same problem?

The bug has to do with wave file in my slide.
When I delete the wave file in slide, slide transition effects work same way as in quicktime export or in actual keynote presentation. But slides with wave file shows the problem.
I am not sure why it has such problem. Previous keynote version did not have this kind of problem. Slide with wave file was exported to quicktime without any problem in keynote 3 version in iwork06.

  • Cannot export to Quicktime in Premiere Pro CS5

This problem has been addressed before, but the solution, to simplify the name of the file, is not working for me.
I am not able to export to Quicktime.  The error is "Unable to create or open an output file."
    Here are my parameters:
    Premiere Pro CS5, recently updated.
    Windows 7, recently updated.
    PC HP Pavilion desktop
Source footage is HDV in an mp4 codec via the CS5 timeline.
I have disabled my anti-virus software (ESET).
I have no other video-related programs running.
Clips appear in the Export screen (for preview) perfectly.
Exporting to any other codec or container, including H.264 (an Apple product) works fine.  To make things
a little more interesting, the last time I tried to export to Quicktime (a year ago) I was using PPr CS4.  Export
to Quicktime worked perfectly well.  Now it does not.  Now when I activate "start queue" in Media
Encoder for CS4, the green check mark appears without the clips being encoded at all. Once again, CS4
encodes to other codecs perfectly well.
Sounds like in the intervening year I may have downloaded some interfering software, but like editors
everywhere, I download a lot of these things.  Finding the culprit would take days (weeks!). Are there
    any prime suspects?
Alternatively, are there any other ways to export in high quality to let Mac users easily access PC
    generated footage?

Mac users are the ones who choose to use an OS which creates this type of compatibility issue.  Honestly, I'd just create an AVI and let them solve the problem.
Your clients must really appreciate you as a great "solution providor" Jim!

  • CS5.5 Premiere export to Quicktime

I have been trying to export to Quicktime .mov files in bothCS5.5 Premiere Pro and After Effects and keep getting popups that the files are unrecognizable in any player.  Is there a bug here?
I run Windows Vista, 64bit, AMD 3.2 Quad core, 8GB Ram
    Thanks,
    Don

One of those is a preset (DV preset, at that), the other is an HD format, and the last is a codec. I've exported to any of those, frequently, using QuickTime from CS5.5.
Is the encode not progressing properly? Does it terminate in an error? Will the resulting file import back into Premiere Pro? Will it play back in QuickTime player (which I'm assuming you do have installed, since you need it to encode QuickTimes)?

  • Exporting to Quicktime compressing time grows

    Greetings,
I'm trying to export to Quicktime with expert settings to get a file size larger than CDROM but smaller than Full Quality (which is a whopping 19 GB file). When exporting and compressing the movie, the time remaining keeps growing and growing while the progress bar seems to hang about 1/5 of the way through. I've tried this on a couple of different computers and to different hard drives. I even tried exporting to the CDROM option with the same effect.

"Full Quality" will be a .dv file (no reduction from your source file).
You don't want that setting unless you need to move the Project to a QuickTime format (to continue editing or to bring back to iMovie).
You will need to use the "Expert Settings" dialog (avoiding the preset options) but you must first know how your file will be viewed.
Are your trying to email? Send the file to a Web page? Display the file on a LAN?
How long in time is your video? Where will it be viewed?
Read my "Profile" (click on my screen name) for more options.

  • FCP not exporting full Quicktime

    Hi,
I am trying to export a quicktime and for some reason FCP will not export the full version, it claims to be done, but only exports 6 out of the 7 minutes. My markers are set appropriately. I've never seen this before, any suggestions?

What codec are you using for your export? What are your sequence settings? Try setting an in and an out for the last minute of your sequence and see if it will export. You might try copying the contents of your sequence to a new sequence to see if that makes a difference.

  • Enough Disk Space Exporting to Quicktime once...now NOT.  Why?

Attempted to export my video to Quicktime...and the first time no problem except that when I was working with iDVD, saw that I had titled my chapter markers too large as they were running into each other and overlapping. So, I went back over my video project...edited and changed my chapters to single words...and when I tried to export to Quicktime again about 30 some minutes into the process the message came to screen saying I did not have enough disk space.
So...I saved my video to an external drive as a back up (to be safe)...then reopened the original video project file from my system's hard drive saved in my "Movies."
Using the hard drive icon on my desktop I then deleted two files saved there, which included a copy I had made as well...(by deleting, thinking I'd make available perhaps disk space). I then re-saved my project with a new name to my system so that the project was saved only once. Note- a couple weeks ago in preparing for this project, I transferred whatever other completed saved movie projects, Quicktimes and so forth to my external drive, and deleted existing files on my system's hard drive. I have therefore only one other three minute video project and Quicktime in my "Movies" folder.
Okay...so I then emptied my trash (thinking that might open disk space) ...and once more tried to export this video to Quicktime. Again, the message not enough disk space came up.
Again, remember...the FIRST time I attempted to export the project to Quicktime it DID succeed to go thru the entire process, and showed up in my media content of iDVD. I also had exported it at the higher Quality setting in "Safe" mode.
Thus I presume my original video fell within the allotted disk space or it wouldn't have made it to iDVD to begin with. Why do you suppose after making my edits to chapter titles, now...there is supposedly not enough disk space when exporting?
    thanks

I realize I may have erred (not knowing 'til reading in the manual later...that not setting a high enough disk space size at the time of capture may cause this problem). I may I suppose have to redo the entire video, and figure out how settings are supposed to be changed.
Let's say I was a dummy and didn't first assign disk space to the project like I should have...(something I'll have to learn how to do) ...I would still like to know why the entire process first succeeded to export to Quicktime at my higher quality settings? Why DID it export...why DID it work, and not now?
Why DID it first have enough disk space apparently such that working in iDVD the completed video was available...but I would have had to burn it with problems in chapter titles.
I know disk space was unaffected by chapter markers. I fixed chapter markers because in iDVD they were too long and overlapped. It wasn't until AFTER that fix trying to export again...the video suddenly was out of disk space.
My video is 90 minutes in length. A teaching instructional video. Where do I locate size and available space on my drive? Isn't that shown at the start of making the video? I have looked.
The drive is my internal drive of my Mac 10.4.3 an intel duo core...2 GB

  • Export to Quicktime creates additional video frames!!Help!!

I am using FCP 6.0.6 and following problem happens for the first time:
I am trying to export a quicktime file from a 45 sec. trailer video. It is all rendered and when viewing the video from the timeline in the canvas, everything is correct as i cut it. But in the exported quicktime file there are additional frames that appear and are not supposed to be there. (a couple frames of video before and/or after the cut appear)
there isn't even a fade between those clips with the additional frames, just normal cuts....
I am not a pro in FCP but I edited several short films on it and such an export glitch never happened before. Any suggestions how to fix that please?
    Thank you.

Set the Canvas to 100% and step through the video and see if there are any extra frames.
