Flash 9 audio malfunction OS X

I have a Powerbook G4 with OS X 10.4.7. I have been using
Flash 9 successfully on sites like Myspace, YouTube, etc. for quite
some time. I also have an M-Audio Firewire 1814 professional audio
interface. Being a firewire interface, it is not connected most of
the time. Recently I had the interface connected while viewing
flash-based sites. It worked fine - the audio played beautifully
through the interface. However, when I returned to using the
Powerbook's built-in audio (which can only be done properly by
shutting the computer down, shutting off the interface and
disconnecting it, then booting backup), the audio on Flash sites no
longer works. If I reconnect the M-Audio interface the audio will
work fine, but regardless of what I do it will not work with the
built-in audio. All other audio sources (iTunes, Garage Band,
Quicktime, etc.) work fine with either audio hardware, but Flash
will not play unless I connect the interface. I am using the most
up-to-date version of Flash 9 for Mac, and I have tried using the
uninstall utility (and subsequently reinstalling Flash 9), but with
no suitable results. Has anyone encountered a problem such as
this?

Some of the internal benchmarking we have done with Flash 9
are really
impressive improvements over 8. 9r28 also is a lot faster
than older 9
plugins in our testing as well. Adobe engineers are using
macs a lot
more it would appear themselves, which I expect will be
another
motivation to optimize performance. The swtich to intel
should
eventually similar if not better performance on the mac, but
for now
its better than it was but we are still playing catch up/

  • No Flash Player Audio

I've lost Flash Player Audio. To hopefully fix, I downloaded Flash Player 11 ActiveX Ver. 11.8.800.175 and got an "Installation Complete". However, the Flash Player Checker at adobe.com tells me when I do a "Check Now" that it is "Not Installed". I uninstalled and downloaded 3 times, but still get the "Not Installed" message. I continue to get video but no audio. My browser is Internet Explorer Ver. 10 and my OS is Windows 7. Please let me know what you think I should do to get back the audio?
    Thanks,    Rob

    Hello C.F. McBlob,
I was previously getting sound from an MP3 App when I lost sound with Flash Player. I subsequently checked for sound with the MP3 App and was still getting sound. At that point I wrongly deducted my sound problem was with Flash Player. Well, the real cause of my problem turns out to be an intermittent operational problem with my speakers which I made a bandaid repair to after my dog chewed through the very fine speaker wire a year or so ago. I think its about time I spend $20 and get some new speakers. Thanks to your reply, I once again checked for sound with other apps and discovered my speakers were the problem. I will withdraw my post. Thank you and everyone else who took the time to read and think about my post.
    Regards,  Rob

  • Flash player audio and vidio out of sync

flash player audio and vidio out of sync. audio lags 2 seconds behind vidio. this is a flash player or silverlighr problem. please help.

A lot of times it's in the video itself. A great example of it is "Tarantula", a 1955 "B" horror movie, on YouTube. About twenty minutes inti the film the audio suddenly drops about eight seconds behind the video. This happens when a video converter (software) requires more processor or RAM than the system converting it has available.
If it only happens with certain videos, it' what I've described above and there's really nothing that can be done about it.
If it happens with ALL videos you're watching, try right clicking, choosing "Settings", and under the far left tab, "Enable hardware acceleration"

  • Flash and audio and text quality & Documentation/Manuals

Like a donut i posted in the wrong bit so here are the links
to my previous questions rather than duplicating them:

    and audio and text quality
    Apologies and thanks

There is no polite way to say this: You need training to
learn how to use Captivate to create learning objects for a LMS. It
doesn't need to be a "long" training period, but you are trying to
shortcut ALL training and begin at the end. I advise you learn to
use Captivate as a generator of learning objects (LO) for the LMS.
You seem to be thinking you can to use it as a "shell" for your
Flash output and it just isn't a Flash plug-in ... it is a
self-standing and sometimes complicated - but usually easy to learn
    - learning tool in its own right (by "easy to learn" I don't mean
    overnight, in any case).
Reasons why include the fact that Flash SWFs are vector based
while Captivate uses bitmapped graphics. Audio is handled entirely
differently on the two. Captivate's communication with the LMS is
not - I think - going to pass on scoring from the movie-in-a-movie
approach you are trying to use. And on and on.
Sorry I don't have more encouraging news for you. Good luck,
    michelle.

  • When streaming Vid with flash player, audio and video are not in sync

With Flash 11.6, audio and video are not in sync. Video is slower. Using Firefox 20.0.1

Recent crashes of certain multimedia contents (this includes Youtube videos, certain flash games and other applications) in conjunction with Firefox are most probably caused by a recent Flash 11.3 update and/or a malfunctioning Real Player browser plugin.
In order to remedy the problem, please perform the steps mentioned in these Knowledge Base articles:
[[Flash Plugin - Keep it up to date and troubleshoot problems]]

  • Windows 7 full-system crash with Flash 10 audio

I upgraded from xp home to 7 pro, and now find the computer crashing (freezing) in Windows 7, either Firefox or IE8, when using Flash to play audio. Video is OK (with hardware acceleration turned off).  All audio enhancements are turned off.  Granted, this is an old computer, but the same version of Flash in the same versions of Firefox and IE work fine on the same hardware in XP.
Problem OS is Windows 7 Pro, up to date on patches including drivers, 32-bit
    Firefox 4.0.1 or IE 8
    Flash WIN 10,3,181,14
    Hardware summary:
    Pentium D 945
    2G RAM
2 500G hard drives (one PATA with the old XP system; one SATA with Windows 7 clean install upgrade; dual-boot as installed by Windows 7)
    Visiontek ATI X1300 video
    Motherboard Realtek audio
Bottom-fisher DSL (1.5 down) Internet connection
The freeze is guaranteed when listening to Pipedreams audio (for instance: http://pipedreams.publicradio.org/www_publicradio/tools/media_player/popup.php?name=pipedr eams/2011/05/16_pipedreams_128&starttime=00:00:00&endtime=00:59:07). If other network activity uses a lot of bandwidth (large pictures, etc.) the crash happens sooner, but even if completely left alone it will crash before a 1-hour program segment is finished.
Youtube works fine.  BBC iPlayer works fine.  Capital Public Radio web stream works fine.  All use Flash.
Sometimes (but not always) blue-screen type errors will be logged on restart (hard reset - power switch or reset button - is needed).  The most common are processor timer errors, with very occasional bus errors instead.  However, a blue screen never appears; the system just freezes.
There are a couple of similar topics from 2010, but neither that I found in the search was quite the same (involved video as well as audio), and both seemed to be helped by disabling hardware acceleration and audio enhancements -- that doesn't work for me.  Any other ideas?  Note again: this does not happen on the same hardware running XP Home (fully patched) with the same versions of Firefox, IE, and Flash.

BSOD's are never good. They point to a problem much bigger and deeper than any software issues.
When XP came out eleven years ago, people were astonished at how much processor it took to handle the GUI vs Windows 98. Processors an RAM have upgraded a lot since then. It was worse with VIsta, even on newer systems. Seven was a step in the right direction, but I'd guess that your old computer (your words, not mine) isn't up to the task of running Windows 7.

  • Exporting sequence to Flash - no audio?

Taking a sequence extracted from a long project to export to flash for web... looks AND sounds great in timeline, no audio after transcode.
I do have the export audio ticked in the settings.
Any help would be great, Thanks,
    Kenny

I found a solution to this issue. It is possible that deleting certain preferences fixed it, but the Cache for iPhoto was not allowing the "fix" to work.
So here's what I did (and all of it might not be necessary, but I don't know which fix actually work since I deleted the Cache info in the user folder and it started working again).
Macintosh HD --> Users --> Home Folder --> Library --> Preferences
    Deleted the following:
    com.apple.iPhoto.plist
    com.apple.quicktime.plugin.preferences.plist
    com.apple.quicktimeplayer.plist
Macintosh HD --> Users --> Home Folder --> Library --> Caches
I'm assuming you could just dump the com.apple.iPhoto folder BUT I dumped the whole thing (because at this point I was quite frustrated).
It works like a charm now. I wanted to share this with you so that you would know that it has been fixed by someone who had the some problem. I do hope this works for all of you.

  • No Flash Player Audio on YouTube

I have W7, MIE9.  I have no audio on any youtube selection.  I have uninstalled/reinstalled flashplayer numerous times with no success.  I just went through all the suggestions on Adobe's website with no success.  When I select youtube I momentarily get a msg saying I need Flash Player to view this site.  My email is [email protected]

To help troubleshoot we'll need the following system information:
    Flash   Player version
When reporting issues with video or audio, it's also helpful to get your system hardware and driver details.  Instructions for finding this information can be found here:
    Windows
    Mac
Finally, sometimes video and audio problems are caused at a lower level and not directly related to Flash Player.  I recommend trying both of the links below to see how they perform.  If the problem exists with both, then Flash Player is most likely not the culprit as the HTML5 video link does not use Flash Player when playing.  You can verify the use of HTML5 by right clicking the HTML5 video and looking for the words "About HTML5" at the bottom of the context menu.
    HTML5     video
    Non-HTML5 video
If audio won't work with either link, I'd suggest taking a look at your Windows sound mixer and verify that Internet Explorer isn't muted.

  • Flash CC audio problems

Okay, so I was having so much problems with Flash CS6 I actually upgraded and the first video didn't have any problems.   It wasn't until I started actually creating something in CC is when I had problems.
First off when I put audio in a scene, it will play but only if I start the video from frame 1.  If I start it anywhere else it will just be silent.
Problem number two, at random times the audio and the visuals don't sync up like they are suppose to.
And the Final and BIGGEST problem, which has reduced me to tears, is that once I export the video its pretty much a silent film .
    PLEASE HELP
is anyone else having these problems.

    you're welcome.
p.s when using the adobe forums, please mark helpful/correct responses, if there are any.

  • Flash Player audio setting in Win'7 Volume Control

OS is Win'7, up to date.  Flash Player is 11.4.  Browsers Firefox 15.0.1, Chrome 22, IE 9.  When playing a video on a website, the Flash Player volume setting in Volume Control (Windows Mixer) is set to the maximum, same as my speaker volume.  How can I permanently set Flash Player's volume to a setting lower than that of my speakers?

This is a known issue in Firefox and Flash Player 11.3 or higher, but our testing (and I just personally re-tested it on my Win7 machine to double-check) indicates that this works as expected in Chrome and Internet Explorer.
There's a public bug tracking the Firefox issue here, and we have a corresponding internal bug assigned to an engineer for investigation:
    https://bugbase.adobe.com/#bug=3210602
1.) Use Chrome or Internet Explorer with the latest Flash Player from http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer
2.) Revert to the most recent version of Flash Player 10.3 (Currently 10.3.183.25), which you can download here:
         http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/archived-flash-player-versions.html
Before reverting, you'll need to uninstall the current version of Flash Player first:
         http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/uninstall-flash-player-windows.html
If you *are* having the same problems with Chrome or MSIE, can you give me a clear, step-by-step description of how to reproduce the issue?  It's possible that we're doing something differently, or there's another component like audio drivers in-play.
    Thanks!

  • Flash player audio problem mac book pro due to new 11.7.700.169 update

I just recently updated my adobe flash player when i load a video my audio stops as video continues I'm using a macbook pro this is really irrtating because i edit and stream videos for my occupation and audio keeps cutting out is thier any way i could go back to the other flash player or is thier another flash player download besides adobe that works fine?

I started having all kinds of freezing/crashing issues with both safari and ff on my macbook pro, os x 10.6.8. Then I even started having trouble starting up and shutting down. I wasn't getting any error messages and after trouble-shooting everything I could think of in my hardware and finally realized it started happening after I downloaded this latest update. I tried every suggested fix I could find and finally uninstalled it, reinstalled 10.3, and ran a disk repair. That was a couple days ago and seems to have worked, but what a pain.

  • Some flash video/audio won't play

Hello, I'm using 10.6.7 and the lastest Flash plugin.
I've troubles with playback some flash video and audio in all browsers: Safari, Firefox 4, Chrome.
For example, Soundcloud.com works fine, but as a widget on other web-sites it doesn't work. Youtube and Vimeo — perfect, but BBC's videos won't play (ex., http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-13054205).
    Any ideas?

Your link works fine for me in Safari.
Check your "extensions" (browser add ons) for your browsers. Some may conflict.

  • Can flash record audio in .mp3 format?

I have an Audio Recorder created in flash. Currently it records audio  and saves it in .flv format.(I am using AS2.0 and Red5 server)
My question is: Is there  any way by which I can record and save audio in .mp3 format, directly?
    Thanks in advance.

The .flv format is a "container" format, not a video format.
So that means that inside the container, you can have a video file and/or an audio file or even just an audio file.. which most likely is already an mp3 file. Use something like "FLV Extract" to break open the container and see:
    http://moitah.net/
But really, for any Web delivery of audio, the .flv (audio only) method works just fine. Lots of media players available for the Flash .flv file.
    For example:
Sounds from my bunk on the Lady Washington
    http://exploreolympics.com/reports/?p=2857
Scroll down to third media player.
A little quiet to start with... but this is a .flv file with just an mp3 audio file inside.
    Best of luck!

  • Flash lite audio streaming and offline playing

    Hi,
I'm interested in developing a mobile application that will
let the user listen to music (progressive download) and on the
other hand let him listen to songs he downloaded while he is
    offline.
One of the project constraints is to make sure the files are
encrypted and couldn't play on any other player but mine.
What are my options using flash lite / flash streaming
    server?
    Thanks a lot

    Laurel,
Thanks for the reply. The following URL states for for Flash Lite 2 and 3 states that the "isStreaming" parameter is ignored, when trying to load external URLs for the Sound object:
    http://livedocs.adobe.com/flashlite/3.0/docs/help.html?content=00004718.html#136115
How am I supposed to achieve streaming audio if this parameter is ignored?
    Thanks,
    Bruce

  • Flash player audio chirps and video delays

When playing recorded videos the audio "chirps" and sounds
like a tape deck with the speed varying. The video is anywhere from
1 to 3 seconds behind the audio.

Found this in Techsmith's Camtasia forum, dated 1-10-08,
posted by one of the Camtasia developers:
"We've also been working with Adobe Flash Player TechSupport,
who has been very responsive and helpful. They have confirmed the
bug, and escalated it as a high priority issue to their engineers.
We're hoping that it can be fixed in a future version of the Flash
    Player."
    FWIW.
