Flash and Flash Versions

I expect there is a simple explanation for this and also a
simple solution.
I am using Flash 2004MX , XP, Internet Explorer 7 (IE7),
Opera 9.1
I have created a quiz using the provided template, and I want
to add to my website which I am making xhtml 1.1 compatable or when
that is too much bother for a page that may soon chage xhtml 1.0
transitional/strict.
That is where my problems start.
If I use the 'publish from Flash MX' pages in IE 7 all works
OK in Opera 9.1 I just get passed to the alternate page.
If I use my xhtml w3w valid version in IE 7 if the alrternate
page is in the html I get that page and a message telling me to
upgrade to latest version of flash (I have done this for IE 7 and
Opera).
If I take out the alternat page divert then in IE & all
versions of code work.
With the alternate page code present <meta
http-equiv="refresh" content="3;url=Tickbox_alternate.html" />
in then only the generated code works and that is not even W3W
compliant at xhtml transitional level.
Is the some valid (by W3W validation) published pages code?
PS Firefox is similar to IE 7.

You need to enable Restriction to change the settings in there.
You can disable again it after you've done.

Adobe Flash and Flash based Video Players and the ps command

OK, I have two v20z servers. I just reinstalled Solaris 08/07 on both of them. These are both Sunray servers. One of the servers is fully patched and has SRSS 4.0 installed and serving Sunrays just nicely. I just finished installing Solaris on the 2nd server.
On the first one I'm not sure what whacked things, the patches or SRSS
If I go to a site with a flash based video player like youtube, Firefox or Mozilla will freeze untill the video is fully streamed.
Also on this server the "ps" command is super slow. I like to do ps -efa|grep whatever to find processes. This unbearably slow on this 1st server.
On the 2nd server I haven't yet patched it or installed SRSS. I think though it's the patches and not SRSS
On this server the Flash 7 that comes preinstalled works fine on streaming videos. It also works fine with Flash version 9,0,47,0. I even copied the 9,0,47,0 version of flash from the server that where flash is freezing, so it's not flash that is the problem I don't think.
Normal flash animations work fine, it's just flash based streaming video players.
Something after patching seems to have done this
Anyone else have a really slow ps and flash that freezes the browser while watching videos?

No sound with Flash and flash players..

I've just installed Flash 8 and the player for my intel based
mac and the sound worked for a few hours, I could hear sound both
in the fla and swf, but then suddenly it didn't work and there is
no sound with Flash at all, not through a browser or anything (all
other file types and sound in general work on machine). Very
frustrating, any ideas of what can cause it? I've reinstalled Flash
and no luck so far and it's HOT and sweaty in Oslo..

First thing to try is to reset your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. See if that fixes your problem.
If that doesn't help Make an appointment at an Apple Store to have your device examined by a technician. Or contact Apple Support.

Plug-in failure with OS 10.7.5 Also FLASH and Flash Player not re-installing

Getting notice of plug-in faillure wtih CC install Flash and also with YouTube... New. Is there an compatabilty problem with the latest iteration of Flash/Playr?

Adobe flash check says that the player is installed but disabled. Tried to follow the instructions to enable the add in but it does not show up on the list. How can this be fixed? Need clear step by step instructions.

Flash and Flash Player stopped working

My wife was working on the dotphoto.com website that used Flash. She did something that made it so that when we try to play a Show (dotphoto/s name for a slideshow) we just get a black screen. She did this on her MAC desktop machine (G5 iMac with OS 105.8). I tried to play the Show on my MAc Book Pro (Intel) with OS 10.5.8 and I now have the same problem on my machine.
The desktop machine only has Flash Player. The labtop has Flash CS3 Pro. I also realized that now when i download a .flv file from youtube to my laptop, it no longer will play in Flash, although i can play it in Quicktime with Perian plugin. I have downloaded Flash Player CS5 and I still can't play the .flv files, that used to play fine.
Any idea what could have gone wrong. Is there a preference or cache file that I could delete to see if it resets the software. Is there a way that I can download a clean version of Flash 9.0 and load it over the one that is already installed in order to reset it?

I have the very same problem. Ever since upgrading to 24.0 I can no longer view YouTube videos on Firefox. I have no trouble with other browsers (IE and Chrome) and I can view the Flash home page. I've tried the suggestions and they do not work. Please fix!!

Can anyone tell me whether installing Flex is necessary and what is its use?

Flex is not an IDE for flash per se.
There are two products which the link is talking about.
One if Flash Professional which is an IDE used to develop Flash Applications - which you will need in order to build client-side of workflow with FMS.
Second is Flex - it says Flex SDK or Flex Builder. Flex Builder is again an IDE which you used to develop RIA Applications which again applications which can used as clients for FMS.

Dreamweaver and Flash site problems

I have completed my website. It's built in Dreamweaver CS3
with Flash CS3 movies in the Dreamweaver html files. I created it
on a MAC. I have no problem seeing everything on a MAC, but PC
users cannot get around the site. Some buttons won't work. Loads
slowly. Help!

It is built in both Flash and Dreamweaver version CS3 on MAC
using Action Script 2. Here's the problem. In four of the Flash
files we created buttons using the getURL coding to send the viewer
to a new page which is in the root directory on the ftp site with
rest of the site. This buttons do not work on PC's. The other of
the buttons in the site were created in dreamweaver which are
working fine for both Mac and PC. When we load the entire site up
to our FTP site, anyone working on a MAC is able to go through the
site from page to page, and the buttons built in Flash work fine.
However, folks working on PCs cannot get the buttons built in the
Flash pages to work.
If you go to barnesandliston.com, click on photography at the
bottom of the home game and then click on sports or nature or
picture story you'll see that those links don't work (if you are on
a PC). Those are the buttons created in Flash that only work on a
Mac. Code follows:

Adobe Reader 9.1 and Flash 10 installation SCCM command

Hi All
I planning to update our Adobe Flash and Reader version to the latest one.
Our environment is a little messy because we have got different version all over the place. Have you guys had same issue how should I remove different version of adobe application via SCCM?
Another question is do you guys have got command line to install Adobe Flash and Reader via SCCM using msiexec option to install with out reboot, silent and never ask for adobe update notification (As attached file)?

No let me clarify. Adobe has a tool that allows you to create an answer/configuraiton file to do unattended installs of Adobe products. So what we were able to do was use this application suppied by Adobe to create a separate answer file (MST file) that was used in conjunction with the .msi package to deploy the Adobe software with all of the settings and configurations required by the organization, such as the disable of auto update and application of patches etc.
What you need is the stand alone redistibutable adobe msi package and the following program.

If you download that application it lets you create a custmized install of Adobe Acrobat using that MST transform file in conjunction with the .msi file. Once you have created the answer file and configured the install the way you want all you have to do is create the SCCM package using that syntax pointing to your custom msi and mst files and it should execute. It is very granular right down to removing splash screens etc.
I also confirmed that for the flash update I just used the following command for my program to execute within SCCM and this worked to install the latest version of Flash. This just does a silent install
Msiexec /i <path to Adobe Flash msi file> /qn
This just does a silent install of the mis package with no user interaction. There is no removal or reboot required for adobe flash so it should not be an issue.

How do I enable flash and java on firefox23 as I have the latest versions installed yet the plugin page shows "disabled" with no option to enable

I have updated to Firefox 23 and it disabled my Java and Flash plugins. I then updated these to Flash 11.8.800.94 and Java to Version 7 Update 25. Now these are showing up on the plug in page but are showing "disabled" with no option to enable. How do I enable them to view content on the web.

However, when i closed and restarted the browser it returned back to the same settings...

Try using Firefox. Flash usually works on Firefox when it won't on Safari. I noticed that the Safari does not show the same version as Firefox does. Iwonder if that could be the problem. Safari on the left shows 10.1, Firefox show 10.3

Cannot open grooveshark due to a supposed problem loading flash. (I have the latest version of both (Mozilla and Flash)

Everything with firefox works ok except Grooveshark. An error message appears saying: We had problems loading flash, you might have any blocker etc etc.
I don´t have any blocker and as a matter of fact i have the latest versions for both mozilla and flash. Neither version of flash test nor reinstallation process nor checking add ons or firewall settings solved my problem.

To double-check your Flash permissions for the site, you can click the globe or padlock icon to the left of the address, click More Information, then click the Permissions tab. The "Activate Plugins" section would be the one to check.
I understand you have checked your add-ons, but in case there is an unexpected interaction, could you test the page in Firefox's Safe Mode just to confirm that extensions are not the problem? You can restart Firefox in Safe Mode using either:
* "3-bar" menu button > "?" button > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
