Flash and Reader plug-in installers don't work

I am running Firefox 23.0.1 on Vista Home Premium 32.
I have had several failed "automatic" updates for the Flash Player plug-in so tried to install manually. Again after failed attempts I have tried a number of things:
run as administrator
run in safe mode
both of the above
In all cases, a process appears in the Task Manager but then just sits there with 0% CPU activity. I am able to delete the process.
After looking around various Adobe pages, I came across the .msi version of the Flash Player plug-in installer (install_flash_player_11_plugin.msi) - this seems to have worked fine. I haven't tried it for the Reader.
Any clues why there is an issue here?

Safari - Flash and Silverlight Plug-ins NOT working

Safari does not seem to recognize my Flash and Silverlight Plug-ins so that I can watch and stream videos. I might have messed it up, but I can not fix it. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

There's no Auval or RA or Garritan Personal Orchestra in the Audio Units Manager in Logic Pro. Though Stylus RMX that I also use and Kontakt Player 2 are there and successfully validated. The RA and Kontakt Player component are exactly in the place you said they would be.
I've since discovered that RA does not in fact work in Logic Express. As for whether it's loading up in Rosetta or PPC version - how do I tell that?

Does anyone know if there is a fix for iPhone 4S when you pull it out of the docking station and now the ring tones don't work -- it only vibrates.

Basic troubleshooting of the device is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new). Has any of this been tried?
Do other sounds work?
Have you checked to see if the dock connector or headphone jack have debris in them?

Pause, back, and fwd (F6-8) keys don't work with iTunes. [Windows 7 64-bit]

All my other F# keys work (I can adjust the screen brightness, adjust the volume...etc) but my Pause (F8), Back (F7) and Fwd (F9) keys don't work with iTunes. Though they DO work with Windows Media Player.
How can I get them to work with iTunes?

That is, they do not do anything useful, like
go to the start or end of a text field. The
keys do function, though. Home goes to the start
of a document, and end goes to the end. Seems
silly to me; how often do you go to the start
or end of a document, versus the start or end
of a line? Two points off your usability rating,

and Apple-Right Arrow do what you're expecting

Did you try to install Toshiba Controls?

You tube is fine but Video from other sites will not play in any browser all of a sudden. I have latest version of firefox (16.something) flash and all plug in

I cannot play videos from many sites. Everything was fine up until a few days aago. You tube works fine but others will not. I have firefox 16.something and latest versions of flash. All plug ins are there and enabled. Have read through many support threads and nothing is working. This happens on chrome and ie as well.

You can check for problems caused by recent Flash updates and try these:

Adobe Flash and Reader Confusion

Greetings, should Adobe Flash Player and Reader (used in Safari and Preview) be updated manually or are these app's updated via Safari updates from Apple? The Player and Reader applications are not installed but I view some Flash clips via Safari. I use Preview as a PDF viewer, but do these require Adobe security/patch updates be manually applied or are these updated via Snow Leopords' Software Update link? Thank you and regards.

Flash and Reader

I have Windows XP
1. My programs (in the 'add/remove programs' area of the computer) show that I have Adobe Flash 10 ActiveX. But the size of program is blank. Could it be that I have it downloaded and not properly installed. Also is Adobe Flash 10 Active X the latest version?
2. That same area of programs shows that I have installed Adobe Reader 7.1.10 as well, with size shown as 67.06MB. Not sure what Reader does as opposed to Flash and it is necessary to have both?
Background information: My computer has been struggling lately (whirring sounds when I access anything) so I am also trying to elimate conflicting programs to see if that solves or alleviates the matter. Hence my concern with uninstalled programs or potentially conflicting programs as above?

Adobe Flash Player is a browser add-on to view Flash content (such as Youtube) on the Internet. It is not a standalone program and therefore does not show any size in Ad/Remove Programs. The latest version is 10.1.102.64.
Adobe Reader is a standalone reader and browser add-on to view PDF files. The latest version is 9.4.0.

neither flash or reader x will install , it gets to 50 percent then gives a generic fail message ( flash encounterd problems andthen just stops)

the latest firefox browser
was trying to install the latest flash player from the main adobe website

For Adobe Reader, use the installer from http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/
If that does not resolve your problem, please post in the Adobe Reader forum.

Imessage and lots of other things don't work

Has anybody solved this issue with imessage and facetime not activating?
I'm having various other problems which I believe are all connected. When my date and time are set to auto, it wants to set my time zone to another time zone. Notifications are not showing unless I actually open the apps to find out. For example my facebook does not display on the icon that I have a message unless I open up the app to sync it. However I can make emails sync if I double tap home and force quit the email app. That does not work for any other apps though. Also my phone will not connect to youtube, says cannot connect.
So in short these don't work: imessage, facetime, notifications (push), youtube, date and time auto selection
My phone is an iphone 4 16gb, ios5.1 installed
I've sought out the net now for the past month whenever I get a chance. Tried many things that people have suggested..Seems some people it has worked for and many, not. I also spoke to Apple on my own dime and seriously thier tech didn't seem to know what was going on...I could've worked there from what he seemed to know.
Tried these: change DNS, restart, restore, reset all settings, reset individual settings, remove and clean sim, home & sleep button reset, phone bill is paid up, itunes account is paid up, turned off settings (imessage, facetime) - airplane mode - force close everything - restart - turn on settings again...and prob a whack more things.
Has anybody solved this, any more ideas? I don't see a whole lot on the discussion board about it :/

I think you have an Ownership and Permission problem. You should Repair Permission first, even-though, I don't think it's going to work.
Which are the Ownership and Permissions details for your Home folder?

The only safe way is to erase the volume and reinstall SL. Then use setup assistant to migrate your data from a Snow Leopard Time machine or clone backup.
