Flash animation and actions

Hello!
I am building a clue game in Captivate 7 and I am trying to make a slide with the clue board on it with buttons over top the room choices that are blocked until certain rooms have already been clicked on. A different person had once built this but the original file was purged from our systems  but i know its possible I'm just having such an issue making it happen.
I also have another issue with this same project. I have a flash animation that we are using for the suspect sheet and I am wondering how do I make that one animation stay trough out the whole presentation without reloading the animation on each page as it hold the "Clues" given through out the game. We also had this in the other copy but again it's gone.
Any help would be awesome!
Thanks!!

Thank you! I did figure out how to do it. I was confused on how to make advanced actions work for what I needed.
I do however have one more issue with this same project.
I have a flash piece that is used as a check list in the game. It needs to be usable through out the whole game and never reload. Basically it should work like this- Player finds clues and checks them off on checklist (the flash piece) and moves on to the next section of the game. the player should always be able to pull up the checklist and see what they have checked off in previous spots in the game.  The last purse who built this game did this and made it so you could hover over the list and it would pop out and you could then go about checking off clues you have found.  Any idea on how to make this happen?

  • Flash Animations and Movies are lagging after having played a flash game which was graphics intense heavy and frequently refreshed which caused lags, how can I fix this lagging problem for Flash?

On June 30th, I was playing a game called Lil Einstein's Manhattan project over at Newgrounds.com and the game although fine at first, later on in the advanced levels of the game, started to cause my browser to lag intensely and heavily. Now, when I try and watch other flash movies and animations, the flash doesn't run as smoothly, there are skips in the flash animations and movies, and it slows down.
I tried scan disks, I tried defragmenting my computer, I tried uninstalling and re-installing Firefox.. Nothing worked to restore the Flash.
But when I view Flash movies and animations on Internet Explorer, they run fine... but not anymore on Firefox.
Other Firefox users who have played this game also reported problems as well..
How can I fix my Firefox Browser and return the Flash running to normal?
    == This happened ==
    Not sure how often

If you have already scanned PC with an updated Anti-Virus and still the issue exists then I would suggest some troubleshooting techniques to resolve this problem:
    Update browser
    Remove unwanted Add-ons
    Remove unwanted Tool-bars
    Repair Registry
Repair ActiveX objects and shared DLLs
In case of facebook and Zynga I would suggest to Check for Problems with your Internet Connection.Try to Update Java and Reduce the Number of Running Internet Applications.
Sometimes Multimedia content lag due to Hardware Acceleration, so disabling Hardware Acceleration should fix your problem.
    Open Flash Video in browser
Right click on Video Player | Settings
    Open Display Panel
    Uncheck Enable Hardware Acceleration
If issue still exists then you can find some more techniques described in detail here:

After days of searching i didn't find the optimum way to

I tried to export in mov, avi, .. (I use Adobe Flash CS4's
    export movie )
    MP4, H264, 1280x720, 640x360,

I tryied ... everything ....but the quality loss is huge
My fla file (or swf) is a 1280x720 with 24fps , but i can
    change this ... if necessary
Does anybody can help further ?

Clearing the cache can take a few minutes which might give the impression that it has stopped responding.
The most likely candidate though is AVG Safe Search which you appear to have installed.
Try running Firefox in [[Safe Mode]]. If it functions correctly in that configuration than one or more of your extensions is responsible.
Also, I see a number of old Java Consoles in your system specs. Maintaining old plugins exposes your system to vulnerabilities associated with those older versions. Disable them by clicking the Firefox button, go to Add-ons, then Plugins and disable them in there.

  • Advice for flash animation and audio

Just wondered if anyone could give me advice on the
    following:
I have a music score in flash with an animated bar to show
the position in the score during playback. The audio track is
included with the flash file before I import it into Director.
Is this the best method to run audio and flash together or
does running the flash movie and audio track seperately have any
    advantages.
    regards
    Andy

    Hi Andy,
That behavior will let you set a Flash sprite's member to be
    paused or
not. I don't know that this has anything to do with what you
    want to do.
You can't directly change the volume of a flash .swf from
    Director. You
can use sprite(X).stopAllSounds() to stop the sound in a
    Flash .swf in
Director, but there's no start available. A Flash .swf has a
    sound
property, but that will only toggle the sound of an .swf off
    and on, and
only applies after the sound has finished. The change will be
    used at
the next play of the .swf.
You can use the soundLevel property of Director to control
    the volume of
the whole Director movie. If you have no other sounds playing
    when the
.swf is running, you can use this property to control volume.
    It's
pretty coarse, it only allows for 7 levels of volume change.

  • Need help with flash animation and jump to slide

I have been researching for days on how to build a menu in
flash 8 that has links to jump to a slide later in the captivate
    lesson.
    The goal:
I want to have a tab - when clicked on - opens up and shows a
table of contents. Click on an item and it will jump to that slide.
    Method:
I used flash 8 to build a tab and pop up menu. Works great.
But how do I make the buttons or links to jump to slide?
    Is it possible to:
    * - use a roll over image in captivate - pause image and
click on a button to pop over to the slide - no flash menus...just
action script to pause and allow clicking.
    * - use a FS Command script from inside the captivate movie
    - java call in button proprieties.
    * - write the menu in flash - use action script to say "on
release - jump to slide" or "on release - jump to frame" - I have a
frame counter that I can find the frame number of the slide - but
how would you get the script to work.
    Please Help -
Flash not a good friend of mine - so any time I can avoid --
is great...but it is what it is - i do anything to get it to work.
Thank you in advance for your help and I really look forward
    to your thoughts.
    Regards -

    Hi
    I didn't understand a few things here.
    1. Are you trying these things using Adobe Presenter or this is just plain Powerpoint you are talking about?
    2. Are you trying to view the output on the Slide show or presenter output
If you are doing it for PowerPoint slide show, try setting the animations using with previous and after previous
    1. first insert the video. Set it to play automatically
    2. Insert the first text box. Apply animation on it saying "with Previous". This will make the animation play as soon as the video starts. If you want some delay apply some delay for the animation in the animation pane, such that the animation appears when the video has content sound
    3. For the remaining text boxes apply animations as "after Previous". This will make the animations play after the previous animation has completed.
    4. Now all you have to do is applay delay to the animations to adjust them as and how you want
Hope this is what you wanted to achieve
    Thanks

  • Exporting Comp to Flash Animation (and Keeping the File Size Small)

I have an animation I have made in AE which isn't terribly complicated.
Maybe 450 X 250, mostly blank background. The artwork was done in Illustrator. There are about a dozen layers, all AI artwork, and the animation is about two seconds.
When I export the animation as an SWF file, the file size is 1.2MB. What do I need to do to make the file size a lot smaller?
I am not used to making animations for Flash. My AE animations are usually meant for video applications, but someone decided they want this animation to go on their web site instead.
    Thanks!

If it is a frame by frame animation try importing the MOV file into Flash rather than exporting from AE.
Not sure if this will work but it might.  When you publish the file in Flash you will get a resulting SWF file that is created automatically.  See if it is smaller.

  • How Can I Make a Flash Animation for TV?

I'm learning flash animation and am wondering once I save the flash file to a dvd format, how does the end-user navigate when they put the dvd into their TV? Do I need to design and incorporate a menu for the end-user? If so, how does the TV remote control navigate through this menu that was created on a Mac computer? Thank you for your help, I really appreciate it.

I don't know a lot about this subject but thought I'd give it a shot to answer.  You can use Adobe Encore to create menu systems for your DVD title screen.  As far as Flash is concerned I think you can import your animations into Encore's menu system though I'm not exactly sure how.  If you want to just make an animation that will be played back without interactivity you would just export your Flash animation as a Quicktime MOV file and import it into After Effects for further editing and finishing.  Once you render your mp4 (h.264) from AE you can bring this into Encore to author for your DVD.

  • Flash Animations to HD?

Hi Folks, Hope this is the right forum...
I've used flash for years and exported video for FLV viewing, but I'm stumped by a client request. I have to admit, I've only concerned myself with .mov or wmv HD output for regular video.
What are the HD output options to get good quality flash animations and
bitmaps out of a Flash presentation? Use only vector graphics? Scale down
600 dpi images for the stage, but leave them at 600 dpi? Use huge screen
    layouts of 2400 x 1900 ???
Can you output without causing the jaggies?
    Thanks
    Jeff

I am thinking the client wants a Flash player swf at HD, but Flash exports of themselves don't do a 720 scale since they are web based at 72 dpi displays... It is different when exporting from a FLV or other video film source through flash. But I'm concerned about the Flash animations as exports. The other problem I'm running into is that the flash sound tracks are shot when trying to export swfs from QTPro to any format. It appears the swf tracks are muxed. My FCP is so out of date, it only runs in Classic, so I've been reluctant to upgrade just for this purpose...

  • Flash animation header problem

I have created a flash animation and placed it as a header on

  • Flash animations run slowly on Internet Explorer 9

    Hi all,
I recently downloaded and installed the Internet Explorer 9 RC from Microsoft and updated my Flash player to version 10,2,152,26 .  I am having issues running Flash animations and other Flash objects within that browser. All of them, even the animation on http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about is sluggish and jerky on my computer. On the flash videos on YouTube, the entire page will not even render, and a black box will show up where the video is. I will be able to hear the audio from the video, but the video itself will not play. I cannot control anything on the page, and my CPU usage skyrockets to 100% and holds there. I have not been having this problem on any other pages, and I have IE9 set to software rendering as opposed to GPU rendering.

  • Reuse Flash Animation

I would like to preface my question by saying I am not a
visually oriented person. I am a .NET developer that uses a text
editor and the command line to compile my code and I am also very
    new to Flash.
Well, I am trying to create a few reusable components in
flash that i can easily import to bigger applications in flash. I
want to make alot of separate little flash animations and put them
together to make a bigger one so I can reuse my work.
I have been able to import a Symbol(I basicly take the small
app, convert everything to a symbol and copy paste everything at
once into my new document). This works, however it does not keep
the animation. Likewise, I have tried to import the smaller flash
file as a symbol by right clicking under libray and doing "new
symbol." When I do this it makes me import things one by one when I
want to import the entire animation.
What am I doing wrong? I know there has to be a way to do
    this.
    Thanks,
    BD

My flash animation base on movig pictures on screen
    Problem allocated in next circumstances:
in flash player 10.0 r32 animation work correct
bun in flash player 10.1 r53 work too slowly..

  • How to show Flash animation

    (Web Logic 6.1.4)
On my WL server in "web.xml" configuration file of my web-application I have
correctly defined the MIME-type for shockwave flash animations and I can see
it if I open it directly (direct link on .SWF file). But I'd like to have
the classic and proper approach showing SWF file inside HTM file using
OBJECT/EMBED tags. I created HTM file with OBJECT/EMBED tags and I can see
my flash animation in it if I run this page directly by IE but if I put this
HTM file on server and try to see it served by WL server it does not work!
    How to solve this issue?
    Stjepan Brbot

Well thanks Ned, I do apologize for the shortness of the post, i was in a bit of a rush. I also assumed this would be easy to infer as its quite simple.
The flash animation can be seen here - http://www.blakecorp.com. it shows three blocks which move around a bit.
The user should be able to click on a block and this should lead to a url.
I have tried various geturl combos on various events all over the code and nothing works.
I am not a flash guru so apologies if I cant give you a design of this as I did not write it.
I think the problem is that the images etc are not buttons but I am struggling to find a way to make this work.
This is probably 10 minutes work for a flash programmer
    Any help appreciated.
    Thanks
