Flash Animation not lined up with screen

Hi,
I am a complete newbie to dreamweaver and will try to
explain. I have a flash animation that i can not get to be even on
the screen during runtime. I am guessing with all my screwing
around that i messed up the layout format or something. I read
somewhere that in dreamweaver, i can go to window >workspace
layout and then default. I do not have this default though.
So I think what I am after is a way to reset the layout?
Please help
Thanks in advance.

It's IE-only behaviour as a result of changes Microsoft made
several
years ago to their browser, regarding how Active Content
(Flash, Quicktime
etc)
is handled, after losing a high profile court case.

  • Embedded Flash Animation Won't Pause with Slide; Gray Screen on Resume

    Hello,
We've added a Flash animation to a slide but when the we pause that slide, the animation keeps playing. Furthermore, when we resume, the whole movie goes gray.
Extra: this slide also has audio. We could add it to the animation, that's not a problem, but the animation needs to work first!
    Thanks!

It was not the embedded animation that turned gray but the whole slide!
Since the original animation was from Captivate, we just copied the slides instead of trying to embed the swf. Our immediate needs are thus fulfilled. However, in the future, we will try the animation as a slide background if we need to do something similar.
(Unfortunately, I cannot share the animation because of corporate policy.)
Note: The question has not been answered but I marked it as answered because I no longer need an answer.

  • Number fields not lining up with heading.

I add a number field to my report.
The heading and field are right justified and lined up using a guideline.
When I preview the report, the number and heading are not lined up.
    Any ideas? Thanks! Linda

Greetings Linda, if you are having problems with the guide lines you better remove them and align the objects manually or you can make use of grid and snap the objects to the grid. These options are available in u201Cviewu201D menu. I hope this solves your problem.

  • My mouse isn't exact/not in sync with screen

My Microsoft Mouse Wireless Laser 6000 is slightly off and I must click slightly up and right to hit buttons or place the cursor where I want it. Since I'm on
the computer for work as well as home, this is getting annoying. I've tried reinstalling the software and all updates.  The trackpad is also slightly off, so I'm not even sure it's the mouse. I use an external monitor Samsung 24 inch LED, only 6 months old. This wasn't a problem when I bought it the monitor. I use the Macbook screen as well as the Samsung and the cursor are off in both. I use an external Microsoft Keyboard.  Not easy to pinpoint the cause on this one, as It's almost impossible to isolate.
Any suggestions as to why the cursor is not in sync with the screen?
Samsung Resolution 1080p Television and 1280 x 800 on Macbook screen
This resolution is what I would like to use but perhaps that's the problem.

I'm not sure if I understand your situation correctly, so I'm going to offer a couple options.
First, unconnect your external monitor, and test your mouse/trackpad alignment issue.
Second, if the problem still exists, then unplug your mouse, and test the trackpad.
If the problem still exhists after that, then you will need to take it to the Genuis Bar.
If the problem only occurs when the monitor is connected, then are you using it as a mirrored monitor, or are you closing your lid, and using it as your screen? There are times when your external monitor has a different proportion (aspect ratio) that doesn't match your laptop screen, and can cause a resolution conflict. I've never seen it effect mouse registration, but I can't say it's not possible.

  • Custom flash player (not flv) working with custom flash content

I am working on a custom player of swf content. Some of the
content the player loads and plays is custom Flash content (swf
    files) such as games.
Depending on how the external content is built, sometimes the
pause button for the player will not pause everything in the loaded
    content swf.
Does anyone know of a standard approach to such a problem?
    Thank you.

  • Why is the sound on my laptop not lining up with the video?

for the past week or so every video I play, whether it's on Amazaon, Hulu, or Youtube, the audio is ahead of the video. There's about a quarter second delay between them which makes it very difficult to watch.

     Hi,
    Try the following.
First, download the Flash uninstall utility on the link below and save it to your Desktop.
    Flash Player Uninstaller.
When the download has completed, close all browser windows and run the uninstaller.  After this has completed, restart the notebook.
Next, ( unless you already have it ), download and install Firefox and then using Firefox, download and install the latest version of Adobe Flash.  Note: You may want to deselect the option to include McAfee Security Scan Plus before downloading.
Close all browser windows before running the Flash installer.
Launch Firefox and see if the videos play Ok in this browser - if they do, close Firefox, open Internet Explorer and click on the same Adobe Flash link above to get a prompt to install the ActiveX component.  When done, restart Internet Explorer.

  • Flash Animation Not Working

I'm fairly new to flash design and I am currently trying to upload my portfolio site to the web.
The site is up at http://bryanmurphydesign.com/
It is a horizontal layout and when you click on certain buttons it side scrolls to that specific area.
The buttons don't execute the actionscript that I need them to not to mention that some images are missing.
Also, are there any bulk packaging publisher settings like InDesign has? I think there may be a problem in the location of some files and I think Flash may not be locating them properly.
    Any advice is appreciated. Thanks!

all your files do NOT need to be in one folder.  it's easiest if your embedding html and swf are in the same folder but other than that it's generally desirable to put images, for example, in an images subfolder of the html/swf containing folder.
check my previous message more carefully.  you're referencing drive letter C: from your local computer.  that drive isn't on your server so when you upload your files to your server, that image won't be found because flash is looking for the C: drive on your server.

  • Laggy timeline, playhead line not lined up with playhead after 8.1 update!

Is anyone else experiencing this??? See attached screen shot. The white line is sticking all over the time indicator resulting in what you see below, also, the playhead line is not actually lined with the playhead itself, making frame edits completely impossible! It is driving me crazy. Have cleared all caches and deleted all preview files though this is clearly not causing this. It would seem to be a graphics card/driver issue with PP 8.1 as everything was working just fine before I applied the update this morning......silly me :-/ I am running a Windows 7 Pro 64bit, 24 core workstation with 64GB of RAM and a Quadro 5000 GPU with 2GB RAM. Help!

I'm having the exact same issue - again only since updating to the latest version. So I too am interested in a solution!
In my case I have Quadro K1000M graphics - no warp stabiliser , and it's already switched to software-only.
    Screenshots below:

  • Flash animations not playing in Captivate 5.5

When I import a swf from Camtasia 5 into Captivate 5.5, it plays when I "play slide," but not when I play "project" or "from this slide." So.... I saved it as a flv. It plays... if I click the play button, but that's not what I want.
I've used this technique many times before over the years with no problem. I create an animation in PowerPoint, record it with Camtasia, and import it into Captivate. I need to be able to do it in this version.
What has gone wrong? Thanks for any suggestions!!

If your AS2 file is working fine, chalk it up to luck and buy a lottery ticket.  Most users are NOT going to be as fortunate.  Remember where you placed it in your project though, because if you ever start seeing this project go into spasms and flicker like it was having a fit, the quickest solution will probably be to get rid of this AS2 component.
As for your other issue with the AS3 file, there may be a number of possibilities. My first guess is that your SWF is probably set up as a symbol in the Flash file and the animation is buried inside that symbol.  Due to the way Captivate 5x loads SWFs now, the animation may actually be playing in the background before you reach its slide and that means it will have finished playing by the time you get to where you want it to play.
If you want to test this theory, you'll need access to the original FLA file used to create this animation.  Try placing some piece of marker text on the final frame of the animation along with a stop(); action.  Then reinsert into your Captivate project.  If this results in you seeing the marker text on your slide at runtime, then it means the animation has completed playing before you got there.
If this is the issue, try taking the animation out of the Symbol and placing it all on the main timeline of the Flash file.  Then republish and insert back into your Captivate project.

  • Flash animation not viewing in Internet Explorer

I have built a website in iweb using Slideshowpro and Vertical Moon products, everything views as it has been built in Safari and Firefox, in Internet Explorer the text animations do not view at all, but the rest does OK. In opera all views OK with the exception of the text which I used transparent tag, it does not view transparent, but as a block
This is very frustrating has anyone else had this problem, and hw do you fix it
    Thank you

Well, I don't really think they do. It is the PC world and ultimately Internet Explorer that are well behind the times with this technology. Internet Explorer must be the worst browser around and has been for sometime - little wonder that Bill Gates used to throw in a free copy with every PC.
It is my belief that the PC industry need to update. In the meantime, what you can do is ensure that the PC users have javascript enabled on the PC's and also suggest that they go and download a copy of either Firefox for PC or a copy of Safari for PC. Add that on your site and let them know that it is best viewed with a copy of Firefox or Safari and have the clickable links on your site so that they can go there.
I don't think it is Apple's problem to address IE - Apple technology is ahead of this. This is for the PC industry to do and to catch up - perhaps they need to ensure they come up with something better than IE and Vista, which has been a bit of a disaster.

  • Flash is not handled correctly with Firefox. In an Flash Environment modules are re-initialized if other embedded flash modules in the main one are rotating

We develop flash modules for clients. In the latest Firefox with the latest Flash Plugin it happens that flash components are affected when other components are rotating .
For example if you open one of our demo's
    http://www.crocon-media.com/?page_id=190&lang=en
and you click in the top on "MUSIC" a radio player will load. Before the Intro MP3 file is played completely, some modules that are embedded in that flash rotate, means they re-start. This never affected all other embedded modules but do now. The radio component simply stops playing. This does not happen in any Internet Explorer version and has worked with under Firefox before.

After putting those 2 flash components out the bundle we also see, that even if the rotating flash is loaded separately and another for example audio streaming flash module is running, once the stand-alone rotating flash module is starting back at frame 0 it affects all other flash modules on the same page, even if they are not connected to each other. This is a serious issue.

  • Flash IDE not compiling movieclips with "export for actionscript"

I'm having a really odd problem with Flash CS5 where I'm getting random compiling errors for movie clips that are exported for actionscript. These are simple graphics that will be created at runtime. Nothing special.
When I first open the project it gives errors for all the symbols in the project, but if I open and save the settings dialog the errors go away. Sometimes I have to go into individual symbols and check/uncheck the "export for actionscript" box. This is a AS2/Flashlite project.
Anyone else having these errors? I tried to "save as" the project and clean the ASO cache. No luck.
Here's an example of the error:
Symbol=movieBkgrdSmall, layer=Layer 1, frame=1, Line 1    The class or interface 'movieBkgrdSmall' could not be loaded.

cs5 will scan the current directory and all subdirectories for class files.  sometimes you can have a name conflict and not realize it and that can cause substantial problems.
when desperate, create a new directory with no subs, save your current project there (with a new name).

  • Flash videos not working, show green screen

In all of my browsers (firefox latest version, chrome latest version, IE 8) flash videos on sites like Youtube and others will play audio but will only display a green screen (no video). I have updated flash "successfully" several times.
Also, I have tried uninstalling flash player several times but it never actually uninstalls, despite saying that the uninstall was successful. I have tried uninstalling on a clean reboot, with no programs running. What do I do?
EDIT: More info: On the adobe.com/software/flash/about page the flash video plays and the little box says "You have version 10,1,82,76 installed" so flash is definitely still installed. I also tried rebooting multiple times between uninstalls.

Hi, glad you solved your own problem  On the Uninstalling, removing it from add/remove or control panel/programs & features doesn't do it. In your case, glad it didn't since you ran the test, and Flash Player is working fine now(without the h.a)
If you ever need to Uninstall Flash Player, be sure to use the latest Uninstaller from Adobe since it changes each time a Flash Player Update is released.

You can always find the latest Uninstaller just be looking at a few threads here on the forum.

  • Flash Will Not Line Up With Surrounding Graphics In Dreamweaver

    Hello All:
I have been trying to get my Flash .swf file to line up with
the surrounding graphics in my page. I used the same sliced image

Tyring to get pixel perfect mixing Flash & others always
    causes headaches. A
better approach may be to place you flash reference in a
