hello, i'm so close to actually getting this to work and i'm
breaking down and asking for some help. here is my actionscript and
php codes, why doesn't this work?

I think the JPEGEncoder class originally came from the other
source (I'm not 100% sure but the code is basically identical -
there are comments to the effect that a few tweaks have been made).
No issue with that though.
What the bytearray implementation does is implement the
uploading/saving support .
The implementation at bytearray was done using amfphp (flash
remoting with php) with amf3 encoding format.
I presumed you were trying to avoid using amfphp remoting and
just transfer the jpeg data in a binary format in your POST method
upload. I presume that might work given that you can do binary
transfers using as3... although I've never tried it.
But the issue earlier appeared to be that your php script
wasn't accessible which is (I believe) an issue unrelated to any of
the code and something to do with how your server is set up. (I
didn't delve too much into the code yet, because I can't see how it
can work at all unless this is addressed first).
Do you have PHP set up on your server? I assumed earlier that
you had and that there was some other problem. If you don't have
php set up then no php code will run. If you do have it set up then
the problem is (I believe) something to do with how things are set
up on your server (as long as the create.php file is in the same
directory as the html).
Coldfusion has (or used to have when I used it some years
back) flash remoting support built in.
But I guess if you can send the jpeg binary data directly via
POST you don't need remoting.
If I get time over the weekend I'll see if I can get it
working the way you're trying to do it. (My first inclination would
be to try to use amfphp and just replicate the bytearray example,
but I'm also interested to see if it can work your way). Unless
someone beats me to it. ;)

If you are standing by, and activating the process by keyboard
you could be sure to include the open Date Time menu bar
image in a complete screenshot, using cmd shift 3. Or outline
the area you want if not full-screen, by using cmd shift 4.
The command button may also have an apple icon on it.
So that's the three key shortcuts for full & partial screen.
For a more automated method, perhaps try using software to
run an AppleScript, like Automator. Then write a script or find
one that you can modify to do tasks and test it.
There may be other methods, however identifying your intent
would be higher on the list at this time; to narrow the method.

does final cut have like a screen shot deal. what i am trying to do is take a screen shot or freeze a frame of video and make it a JPG. and i havent figured it out. am i calling it a different name than what it is. i have just started with Final cut. so i am a newbie

If you want a shot of your screen or even just a section of it, you can use Grab.
If you want to export a still frame of a video clip from FCP that you can use in other programs (Photoshop, etc), park the FCP playhead on the frame you want and then go to File->Export->Using QuickTime Conversion. Choose "Still Image" from the Format menu and then choose the file type from the Options menu.

Yes,
I think you can use the ImageSnapShot class, and thern use the bitmap data from it as you desire.
You can use the snapshot to take a grab of any element/child in your application or presumably you can take a snapshot of the main application if you want the whole lot.
I used this method recently to print a screen state.

No, same process works on all iOS devices. You must be doing something not quite right.
Whilst holding the Home button (the one on the front of the device below the screen) just tap the on/off switch. That's all there is to it. You must make sure you are holding the Home button before tapping the on/off switch.

Using SSL in flash builder 4 data service with PHP

I am converting a program I wrote with Flex 3 into Flash builder 4, and I wanted to try to use the built-in data services instead of using the httpservice as I was doing before. The one thing I cannot figure out is how to make it use a secure connection (https) when connecting to that data service. I have looked everywhere I can think of and cannot find where I can set this. Anyone know where and how to set this? The server I am connecting to only allows secure connections, so doing it any other way is not an option.

I found this by accident.press the power button and home button at once but dont hold and the screen will flash.Now go look in your pictures or photos. It will be in there.=)

For some reason I am unable to "screenshot" from Ipad, when I hold down home and on/off key, it shuts off my IPad, is there a setting I have to change??? Also have the same issue on my IPhone.

You may need to calibrate Home Button
1. Open a stock application like Calendar, Weather or Youtube
2. Hold down the power button until the "slide to power off" control appears
3. As soon as you see it, press the Home button and keep it pressed until the red slider disappears and the app is forced quit to the Home menu
