Flash Audio Not Working in Chrome/FireFox

I'll try to make this post as clear and concise with all the troubleshooting I've done:
For Chrome:
Firstly, I went into the plug-in section of chrome. I have the default Chrome flash-player active because if both are on or if only the non-default
flash player is on, a flash program (i.e. YouTube) will crash and will say the plug-in is unresponsive. The video will run fine under the default Chrome extension but the audio will not be played.
Secondly, HTML 5 and non-HTML 5 videos do not make a difference, no audio is played. The same applies for HTML 5 and non-HTML 5 audio:
I have disabled hardware acceleration, deleted the Flash cache, ran a disk clean-up and still no fix to the problem.
For Firefox:
The videos do not even load, Firefox will just freeze up and the pop-up saying that the Shockwave Flash Player is unresponsive will show.
I have up to date plug-ins:
This problem just suddenly occured, thanks for the help

I have no other clue as to what could be faulty with my system. I am currently running Symantec Endpoint Protection as my only
sort of security or virus system.
If there anything else I can check for?

Flash audio works in Chromium. Have tried the following with no success:
    - Resetting Firefox
    - Reinstalling Flash plugin
Thanks for taking your time to help me out.
    EDIT:
I noticed in about:plugins a listing for "FutureSplash Player". Perhaps that has something to do with the problem?

On Linux Adobe has stopped supporting Flash for Firefox.
There are only security updates of Flash 11.2 available.
If web pages require a more recent Flash version then they won't work with Firefox and you would have to use Google Chrome.
Does this happen with all pages that use the Flash plugin?
Did you check if the player has a volume slider?
You can check for issues with cookies and "Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
*Edit > Preferences > Privacy > "Use custom settings for history" > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
You can try to clear the Flash local storage and settings.
    Abode Flash Player Preferences: Storage

  • Flash player not working in IE, firefox, or chrome, on windows 7

I have used flash player in the past, up until yesterday, and today when I connected, and tried to use YouTube, firefox froze up, and after waiting for several minutes, I force closed firefox. I tried again with IE, and the same thing happened. I also tried on chrome, and still freezing, so I uninstalled and reinstalled the flash player, AND firefox, but the same thing happened.
This is very annoying. Does anyone have a solution?

Derek,IE11 is having some compatibility issues with the share point.Apart from IE11,it should work on IE10,9 and Firefox and chrome as well.
Please check the links below that explains the issues with IE11 and the functionality of Drag and drop and limitations as-well.
1.Since SharePoint 2013 fully support IE 32-bit version above 7, there might be compatibility issue with other browsers. I’d recommend you use IE 8,9,10 32-bit for optimal Performance.
    2. Open the same document library in Internet Explorer as this functions does not work with Firefox or Chrome by default
    3. Make sure the IE (Internet Explorer) Version should be 32-bit and not a 64-bit

  • ALL flash audio not working with G930 headset unless audio jack plugged in once and activated

Problem: Inexplicably and sporadically, ALL flash audio is mute in FF when using a wireless G930 headset connected to USB dongle (physically or wireless), but everything plays fine in Chrome and Explorer. I'm here to tell you what worked for the sake of others, and to make the FF team aware of a problem worth their attention.
Statement: Everything is up to date. FF, extensions, Flash, Java, Windows. I uninstalled flash on FF and my machine and reinstalled on both. My headset audio device is correctly activated in WIndows Audio Devices - all other devices are deactivated.
My current solution: I learned from a prior FF issue involving YouTube videos that YT has something called DASH playback, requiring you to plug in an audio cable to your machine, or the video won't play (WTF right?). An extension called "YouTube Center" fixes this by allowing you to turn off DASH playback. After plugging in a set of earphones into my computer's audio jack, I activated the audio device on the machine, and got audio through the earphones and headset. I then disconnected the earphones, and disabled the audio jack. Audio now works fine on the headset, and I've rebooted the machine, turned the audio jack back on, rebooted firefox multiple times to make sure. Currently, things are fine, but I'm reluctant to plug anything back into the jack.
For some strange reason, FF seems to have trouble recognizing my G930 headset as a valid audio device, or that's my guess. The fact that everything is peachy in other browsers should narrow down the culprit.
Hopefully this helps someone else, and we can find out what the core bug is to make things right.
Ask any questions if you have them and I'll try to get back.

    Very nice work.

  • Why are flash games not working properly on Firefox, while they work perfectly on other browsers?

I own a MacBook os x 10.5.8 Intel core duo.
My problem started a few weeks ago, I tried playing a flash game, first it came up that i didnt have flash, which I did, so I ran an update but I already had the latest version.
I gave up on the games on that page and went to newgrounds.com, but turns out everytime I try to play a game the controls wont work properly on any game.
I thought it might be my flash, so I went to chrome and played the same game, no problems, to opera, no problems, to safari also no problems. So the problem is my firefox and the flash plug in? I already uninstalled it and re installed it, downloaded it again and followed every piece of advice I could find about this, nothing works.
I appreciate some help with this matter, I like working with firefox, wouldnt want to change to other browsers.

Hi gorgonzola357, there are some platform-specific differences between Windows 7 and MacOSX that may be relevant.
Have you tried disabling the new protected mode in Flash 11.3, since that feature is currently being debugged? See this support article from Adobe under the heading "Last Resort": [http://forums.adobe.com/message/4468493 Adobe Forums: How do I troubleshoot Flash Player's protected mode for Firefox?]

  • Audio not working in Chrome

MacBook Pro Retina mid 2012 8GB NVIDIA GeForce GT650M 1024 MB running on 10.8.2.  Latest Chrome Version.
After some period of time (maybe a few days?), sound stops working in Chrome until I shut down and restart the MacBook.  When audio stops working, I can copy the URL from Chrome and go to Safari and it works fine.  If I shut down and restart, it works fine again in Chrome for a while.  Any suggestions on what to do?

Sorry, didn't realize it would be a bother to ask an Apple Support group about this.  No worries, I won't be back.

  • Flash not working correctly; Chrome & Firefox

I use to use Firefox exclusively and had Flash installed as a plugin and it worked fine. I accidentally un-installed it and then reinstalled it. Since then it will not load pages completely; only partially. I then got Chrome and it does the same thing. I am trying to use Flash to view job postings on the Accountemps & Robert Half websites. Any suggestions? This is quite frustrating

I had the same problem, so what I did was I went to chrome://plugins/ and hit the details for flash, and there were 3 versions of it under details, I just uneabled 2 and ran one until it worked. Shockwave Flash 11.3 r300 this one was causing the issue ,   This one worked Shockwave Flash 11.3 r300 , this one also caused the issue  Shockwave Flash 11.4 r402.

  • Flash player not working in chrome or firefox

Flash player shows no content when I post a video in apple discussion community. I can only see a background but no video.
I have latest versions of OSX, chrome and firefox. Also, I have already tried the solution explained in https://discussions.apple.com/message/19074823#19074823.
    Any suggestion is appreciated.

If you actually want to post a video in the ASC's, you'll have to write your message in HTML and embed the video.

  • GetJSON not working in Chrome & Firefox plus other issues.

    Hello!
I am working on a searchable video gallery. Please see the code here. I'm sure that my code is far from optimal.
I'm currently running OSX 10.9, and updated versions of Chrome, Safari and Firefox.
I reading a (verified) JSON file to get information about each video (name, url, tags etc) and am reading that into an object with getJSON. I am then taking this information, converting the tags into strings, and then, after removing duplicates, I'm using jquery ui autocomplete to make a drop down smart search. I've added the js files using the scripts button, and the css with yepnope. Upon selecting an entry and pressing enter, I remove currently displaying videos, and then add videos that match the current tag.
Bug 1 (Minor): When I preview this in Chrome everything works perfectly. In Firefox, there is one bug, where if I highlight the text in the search box, I can no longer enter text, and I hear alert audio. Safari gives a 404.
Bug 2 (Critical): However, when I go to publish, and run the html file directly (either in the publish folder, or in the root folder), everything works in Safari, but in Chrome and Firefox getJSON doesn't run. Neither videos nor the boxes that house them display either. I've put $(document.body).append("text") lines throughout the code, and nothing displays in or below the getJSON procedure.
It feels like there is some file that is contained within the *.an file that I am missing when I am trying to run the html separately.
Any ideas? Any help is greatly appreciated! Thank you very much.

    Sachin,
Thanks for getting backt to me. Upon further investigation, I realized that the tablet version of the site was being pulled up instead of the desktop, but only on certain systems and browsers.
In the instance above it happened when it was opened in Window 8 and 8.1 using Chrome 32 and Chrome 33 (dev). I reproduced the problem using the testing simulators in BrowserStack.
The tablet version also loads up when using a new MacBook Pro 15inch Retina, OS X 10.9.1 and Chrome 32.0.1700.77 (listed as the latest). Again, I reproduced the problem using the testing simulators in BrowserStack.
I cleared cache, cookies, and history and tried it again, and found the same problem.
Furthermore, using that same MacBook, when it is plugged into a Thunderbolt display, it pulls up the correct version (the desktop version) when using Chrome.
Seems to works fine in Safari, IE, and Firefox.
The website is www.cookbrite.com. But currently we are redirecting traffic to the test version of the site on Business Catalyst as it works fine there. So entering cookbrite.com takes you to cookbrite05.businesscatalyst.com.
Zak Williamson (Adobe Staff member) sent this link in response to another post I placed yesterday once I realized what was really going on. This clued us into the temp fix we now have of redirecting traffic to the BC site.
    See <http://forums.adobe.com/message/6019998>
However, I haven't heard a permanent solution yet. Is Adobe really suggesting, as implied by the response from Zak, that in order to fix this that any site developed via Muse should be hosted on BC to insure it will work? Or is there a way to fix or change how different devices are detected so sites not on BC will work properly with the latest Chrome products?
Thank you. I hope all this detail helps.

  • Flash does not work on Chrome browser.

All embedded flash objects for all of our client websites have suddenly stopped displaying in the past three/four days.  I haven't changed anything that would cause this.  It isn't a problem having to do with Chrome/Flash Browser settings because the missing flash is seen on three of my computers.  There are are issues with Firefox and Internet Explorer.  Anyone else having these problems?  I have tried to find out on my own but can't come up with a reason or a fix.  I'm pretty desperate because I know that tons of my clients use chrome and if I don't get a fix I'm going to have to take out all of the flash components and go back to static graphics/objects.  Help Please!!!!

IE uses a different version of Flash than other browsers use. You need to install the Plugin version of Flash for Firefox.
1.Download the Flash setup file from here: <br />
    [http://fpdownload.adobe.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player.exe Adobe Flash - Plugin version]. <br />
Save it to your Desktop.<br />
    2. Close Firefox using File > Exit <br />
then check the Task Manager > Processes tab to make sure '''firefox.exe''' is closed, <br />
    {XP: Ctrl+Alt+Del, Vista: Shift+Ctrl+ESC = Processes tab}
    3. Then run the Flash setup file from your Desktop.
