Flash audio problems (havent seen reported elsewhere)

I know there are lots of issues documented with sound, but this one I havent seen
Problem:  Sites with flash running cause my speakers to make a horrificly load buzzing sound.  Flash video slows wayyy down...almost like in slow motion.  All other audio features (mp3, .avl, .wmv) seem to work fine.
Attempted Solitions:  Ive done all the stuff.  Cleared everything with CCleaner.  Downloaded Flash Uninstall executable and resintalled.  Rebooted.  No help.
One thing to note is that this problem is somewhat intermidant.  Its almost like it corrects itself at times.  I usually keep my computer on mute to prevent navigating to a random site running flash and having the speakers burst out scaring the *#@(# out of me.
Just wondering if anyone has seen this?  Is this a known issue?  Does anyone have any suggestions other then "reinstall and reboot".

The only thing Ive come up with is my VPN.   I have noticed that this issue only occures when Im logged into VPN and using a proxy server.  Maybe this is how flash deals with slower connection?  I will take this chance to throw in one dig....no wonder apple wont support this turd.  My internet experience has been on a steady decline since the day flash became the standard for video.  I know nothing about the industry or alternatives, but this thing sux

  • Flash Audio problem...

***Please note- I am a MAC user- currently running Tiger OS X
    10.4***
I've noticed lately that I can't hear any Flash-based audio
on webpages, regardless of the browser (I mostly use Firefox, but I
also run Opera and Safari). Any Flash-based music player (i.e. the
ones used on MySpace) will load and appear to be playing, but no
    sound comes out.
My speakers are fine. I can still play files via iTunes.
I noticed I started having the problem after I downloaded the
    MSPlayer codec (
    http://mplayerosx.sourceforge.net/).
I've deleted to codec, but still have the audio problem. I'm not
even sure if it's related, but the timing of it all leads me to
    believe that it is...
I've tried re-installing the latest version of Flash and ran
Disk Utility, but still no sound.
Is there a particular system folder somewhere that I should
be looking for to make sure certain files are in order?
Any help would be greatly appareciated. Thanks!

  • Flash Audio Problem -- Audio stops abruptly

    Gidday guys,
As part of a website, I currently have a page that includes
11 different flash files. For each flash file, visitors can click a
button to play a small audio clip, and click the button again to
    stop the clip from playing.
The problem I have is that each flash file plays 1-2 seconds
or so of it's sample before stopping abruptly. Each sample is
supposed to be around 20 seconds long. IF I remove 10 of the 11
flash files from the page, the one that is still there will play
fine - but as soon as I introduce multiple flash files, the audio
    starts dropping out again.
I've tried arranging the audio into the flash files in two
    ways.
Firstly, I just linked the mp3 files from the library to the
    stage via
    quote:
    soundInstance = new Sound();
    soundInstance.attachSound("voice");
    & then
    quote:
    soundInstance.Start;
noticing that this caused a problem, I tried making a flash
file that called a .swf with the streaming sound in it such as:
    quote:
    playbit.loadMovie("annavoice.swf");
but the problem still remained. I've tried it from 2
different PCs, and the problem shows in both. It's not a bandwidth
issue, as it occurs whether I try to load the page locally or from
my server...Any suggestions for solving this problem would be
really really appreciated - cheers gang. :D

  • Intensity Pro to Flash Audio Problems

    Hi,
I'm attempting to pull live video from the Blackmagic
Intensity pro. I can generally pull video content (using component
cables NOT hdmi in this case), but audio is a problem. It appears
that the board is defaulting to 48kHz audio, which is conflicting
with the audio capture in FME 2.5. I get a messagebox saying "The
parameter is incorrect" and then the sample selector in FME is
blank. It doesn't appear I can change the sample rate on the board
    directly.
So, my question is: Has anyone successfully pulled live video
AND audio from the intensity pro and what method did they use?
Again note, I'm trying to do this live to send to FMS and not
encode to a file (which I know works in premiere, but might be
using other plugins or something to work).

Perhaps I'm misunderstanding, but FME doesn't support AAC
encoding for the audio, right? I still only get the option for mp3
    when using h.264.
I actually called Blackmagic today and the support guy told
me this was a known bug. He blamed both sides basically and said
that it used to work, but they probably just have to sit down at
some point and account for changes in drivers and software to make
    it work again.
He suggested that windows media encoder was known to work
with the card, but knew that required a bit of hacking and possible
programming to run things thru ffmpeg or some other encoder for
live streams. He had also heard that some people had gotten VLC to
work with it, but wasn't sure on the details.
For now, I'll just have to try the other methods until FME
and Blackmagic sort it out. Please sort it out Adobe and
Blackmagic. :) It would save me some trouble from having to code a
    solution myself.

  • Strange flash audio problem

Can anyone help me with this strange audio issue? Seeming
randomly, I am loosing the audio to my movie. I will publish or
preview the movie and notice that suddenly the audio is not there.
I am not doing anything related to the flv and I can’t tell
why it happens. If I go back to the FLA and hit undo several times
I often get the audio back. This time I can’t get it back.
??? Could I have something selected that I don’t know about?
    Any thoughts?
    Thanks!

  • Flash audio problems

    Hi guys,
I'm using flashplugin-prerelease from AUR in the 64bit version together with Firefox and have the strange problem that I don't have sound in flash files after some time. Furthermore I use alsa as my sound backend.
    Any ideas or similiar experiences?

That often has problems apparently - thankfully I don't need/use it myself. I suggest trying a kernel which includes tuxonice.
I would recommend kernel26-pf, because it also includes the BFS.

  • Audio Wave problem in Viewer (havent seen before)

    Hi,
This is a problem I havent seen before. I double click my audio in the timeline to work with it in the Preview window but the waveforms dont show up.... I can hear it but can't see anything. And when I scroll left or right (in the preview window) turns to thick black vertical lines mixed with green and gray horizontal lines.
There's no real science to the problem that I can figure out. It happens to Stereo pair clips and Mono clips. SOmetimes the waveform will show up everywhere but in between the in and out marker.
It's drivin me nuts. Got any ideas??? Much appreciated.
    chris!
    MacPro   Mac OS X (10.4.9)

Every time you turn on the waveform in FCP, it has to generate files that relate back to the waveforms that you are looking at. Sometimes, the cache files get out of whack. Delete them and FCP will draw new waveforms and new cache files.
If it happens again, just flush those cache files. Not big deal.

  • HOW TO FIX NO AUDIO PROBLEM IN FLASH (4 SOLUTIONS)

This solution is for WINDOWS ONLY!!! Unfortunately I believe
it is a bug in flash itself as I have read more than one instance
of this same no audio problem occuring on MAC'S and LINUX based
systems as well. IF YOU KNOW OF SOLUTIONS TO THE MAC OR LINUX BASED
PROBLEMS, PLEASE POST THEM IN THIS THREAD.
Description of the problem: Video sites such as YouTube,
VideoSift, Break, Google Videos, Yahoo, and a plethora of others do
not stream embedded audio. Viewing a YouTube video, for example, on
VideoSift.com results in the video playing back with no audio.
However, by going directly to YouTube and playing back the same
    video, it appears to work.
    THERE ARE SEVERAL POSSIBLE SOLUTIONS.
Problem: You may be missing your WAVEMAPPER driver.
Cause: Wavemapper driver was removed during installation or
updating of the Flash Player. It might not necessarily be Flash
that removes it but apparently something does.
Solution #1: Google "Flash No Audio WAVEMAPPER" for
directions, its been covered a bunch, but basically requires
running REGEDIT and readding the WAVEMAPPER key to the appropriate
location and value in the registry. Its not as difficult as it
    sounds.
    http://weyland.be/wrdprss/index.php/2006/08/22/no-sound-in-macromedia-flash-player-9/
if your wavemapper key is installed correctly...
Possible Cause: Corrupted or damaged flash content preventing
    audio streaming from working correctly.
Soltuion #2: Run CC Cleaner and delete only cached Flash
content. It is a free program, again just google "download CC
Cleaner". This particular solution worked for me.
If CC Cleaner also does not work, the description of your
problem may differ slightly. In my case on several computers, one
day it worked, the next day it didnt. If it never worked, this
would be a logical solution for you. One variation of this that I
have found is to create a new Windows User Account and log into it.
The reason the CC Cleaner method may work better is that the User
Accounts have their own separate cache folders so a corrupted cache
preventing audio playback on one profile will not be available on
the other User Account to cause the same problem. I wont explain
how to do this as the CC Cleaner will work better but if you are
curious, yet again google "create new windows user accounts". I
have also seen this method work on one of my affected computers but
it did not fix the issue on the account I was having problems with.
    http://www.ccleaner.com Install
and run it, use it only to remove Flash under the Applications Tab,
Multimedia, Adobe Flash Player. Check it and uncheck everything
else, then hit Analyze then Run Cleaner.
    Possible Cause: Missing Codec
Solution #2: Download and install the K-Lite Codec pack.
Again, google it. A CODEC stands for COmpressor DECompressor and is
a way to make audio and video files small enough to be transferred
on the internet. There are a lot of different codecs and if you
want to play back a video that was compressed using a particular
codec, you will need that same corresponding codec to decompress
your media source and view its content. Basically if you dont have
a codec, you cant observe the content of the media. If you have a
VCR and want to play back a DVD, you are out of luck unless you get
a DVD Player. DivX and XVid Codecs are some of the very popular
codecs used on the net, but to get those, I still suggest getting
    the K-Lite Codec Pack.
    http://www.free-codecs.com/download/K_Lite_Codec_Pack.htm
Solution #4: Go back to Flash 7. If it aint broke dont fix
it. This Final alternative is only to be used as a last resort.
You'll have to get rid of Flash 9 and go back to Flash 7. The
really tricky part here is that you have to prevent Flash from auto
updating itself. If you install Flash 7, and hit up YouTube, you'll
immediately get Flash 9+ installed again with the same problems. So
AFTER you uninstall Flash 9 (use Macromedias / Adobes uninstaller,
yet again go google it) make a new text file and name it MMS.CFG,
in the file put this one line "AutoUpdateDisable=1" (without the
quotes) and put it in BOTH your c:\windows\system32 AND
c:\windows\system32\Macromed\Flash folders. This will prevent flash
from Auto Updating to 9+, then have to find some place to download
the old flash 7 installer. I found one here.
    http://www.intercomm.com/downloads/Flash7.
Only problem is that most sites will try to make you install Flash
9 and Flash 7 does not work on all sites, but it does on some like
YouTube. DO NOT UPDATE TO FLASH 9+ IF YOU USE THIS METHOD.
You will probably want to IMMEDIATELY go to
    http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/settings_manager05.htm l
after installing Flash 7 and UNCHECK the update feature
I've tried to write this quick little guide at 3AM so Im not
going to take more time to research other ways to fix this problem.
If you have other solutions, such as for MAC and LINUX, or feel
like adding on to something else that I've written here (links
would be useful to the downloads I suggested) or correcting any
mistakes I probably have made, please say so.
One of these solutions is bound to help you. Theres multiple
causes for this no audio problem so there is obviously multiple
    fixes.

  • Captivate with Flash and Audio Problem

    hi there,
I am having lot of flash files and all the audios inside the
flashfiles are "Event" Sync and not default "Streaming" which
brings out more problem like slow in clicking buttons and overall
project speed. but when i change it to Event it works fine at the
same time i cannot do any audio synching and other audio relatted
    ewordl....
    Please hlp me/...

I am having a similar problem where flash audio loops plays again on the slide after the one with the flash swf.  Like it's replaying the sound twice, looping is not turned on... I've had multiple problems with flash and captivate like the new CS4 3d transitions just make it go balistic.

  • Flash Media Encoder 8 - audio problem

I'm having an audio problem with Flash Media Encoder 8. I am
converting a long Quicktime movie to Flash - about 28 minutes.
After encoding, when I play it back, at about the 20 minute mark
the audio just drops out. I've developed somewhat of a workflow and
have done this with similar Quicktime files many times and have not
had this problem. Does anyone have any ideas as to what may be
    happening? Anyone else see this?
    Some specs:
Flash 8, Mac OSX 10.4.10, MacBook Pro C2D

    Five Pi,
It may have something to do with the audio rate in your QT
video. When using encoder, make sure your audio rate of your QT
file is higher than the audio rate of your Encoder settings.
Its just a guess, I have had the same problems, but I set the
audio quality to very high when exporting from Final Cut Pro, and
then set them to medium quality in encoder, and no more audio
    problems.

  • Audio problems with embedded Flash

I have the Flash of a Captivate simulation embedded on one of
the slides in my Presenter file. When I publish it, the audio for
the Flash starts playing in the middle of the previous slide -
playing over the audio for that slide. When I click Pause, the
audio for the Presenter slide stops, but the Flash audio keeps
going even though I haven't gotten to the slide with the embedded
file yet. It always starts 4-5 seconds into the previous slide.
Does anyone have a clue why this is happening?
I've used embedded Flash files in Presenter several times
with no problems, and the settings in Presenter are all the same as
in the presentations that work correctly.
    - In Presentation Settings, I have "controlled by
presentation playbar" deselected because there are click boxes in
the Captivate sim that users will click to advance.
    - In Slide Properties, I have "advance by user" select for
both the embedded slide and the previous slide.
    - I thought that there was some glitch in the Audio Editor,
so I added 5 seconds of silence at the end of the previous slide,
and added enough silence to the embedded slide to more than cover
the length of the embedded piece.
This is the first time I've tried to embed a Flash file since
I upgraded to Captivate 2. Could something have changed on the
Captivate side of things? It still doesn't make sense why the audio
would start playing before the Flash starts, but I'm grasping at
    straws here.
    Thanks!
    Judi

    A little additional information:
It isn't just the audio from the embedded Flash that runs
early - it's the actual Flash file. I don't know if this makes any
difference in figuring out what's going on, but thought I'd add
    that bit of detail.
Also - I had found out that my Captivate project that I
created the Flash from had gotten corrupted and was hoping that
fixing that would fix this problem as well ... but no such luck...

  • Flash audio level drop outs (Windows 8.1)

    Hey,
Using adobe flash, I've been having issues with to audio nearly dropping out to nearly inaudible levels on mutiple websites. Anything that does use the flash player, it seems to be triggered when I plug in another device into the computer for use, or charging although it doesn't seem to be 100% consistant and seems less likely after reinitiating the flash player, but would happen after having the flash player open for a longer period of time then attaching a device. My current work around is to either load up a different browser e.g. Google Chrome, which will use it's own plugin container containing another instance of flash. Or to end task on flash from my task manager, then reload the page. which would restore proper audio levels. This does not appear to be specific to one webpage, or to one brower.

So looking further into things, it seemed to have started happening since I installed Steam. While steams loader was active in the background it would cause the flash audio to drop out. I don't know any reason why it would cause this, but have just disabled steam from starting up at all. Any insight on why these two programs would clash and cause audio issues would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,

  • How do you turn off Flash audio when using captivate Nav bar?

    Hi Guys and Girls
I have an imported flash file that plays an audio track,
I have no problem turning the audio off, when the user uses
the button within the flash file to go to the next slide in the
    captivate movie...
    on(release){
    stopAllSounds();
    _root.rdcmndNextSlide = 1;
BUT if the user decides to use the navigation bar within the
captivate movie it all goes pair shape.. The flash audio continues
to play into the next slide. Anyone have a know how to solve this
    problem?
How do you tell flash to stop playing the audio when using
    the captivate navigation bar?
(The flash file is a flip book and the audio NEEDS to stay
    within the flash file)
    Cheers
    Aquil0

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! This totally solved my issue. I had a Captivate 4 movie using an embeded animation that had audio. It would play the audio again when the next slide appeared. I have to use Captivate 4, because my audience still uses Flash 7 (yikes). However, if you have Captivate 5 and are having this problem there is a widget that solves this issue: http://blogs.adobe.com/captivate/2010/11/animations-%E2%80%93-audio-sync-issue.html#commen t-3872
    Thanks!

  • IMovie audio problems when burning in Toast 6

    Hi,
i've tried to burn an imovie project in idvd 5 but i get 'the error #-1 was reported' like most people have been and i've tried loads of things suggested to fix it with no joy.
I then sent the imovie project to toast titanium 6 where it burned fine. However, when i watched it i noticed that although toast had picked up all the audio (both dv audio and aiff), it did not pick up all the volume adjustments during the movie. how annoying! for example: i have an aiff clip that fades into a movie clip with the sound gradually going down but Toast picks up the sound staying at the same level. this also happens with volume adjustments in a DV file.
Any suggestions why this happens / how i can fix it?
    Cheers,
    Andy

    Andy,
This question is really in the wrong place - this is the iDVD '08 forum and not the iDVD 5 forum.
From the description of your problem using Toast, it sounds like you didn't actually export a DV video movie out of iMovie.
Export a DV video movie out of iMovie (it will run 13 GB per hour) and play it back with the QuickTime Player to see if the audio settings you made are really there. If this movie plays OK, you can bring IT into iDVD or Toast for turning it into a DVD.
If the DV video movie you created STILL has audio problems in the QuickTime Player, ask you question about THAT issue in the correct iMovie forum.
