Flash banner won't play

If I'm posting this in the wrong section, could someone tell me
the correct place to post this up at?
I'm using Flash CS3
First, please view the new site i'm building (Using DW CS3)
http://intensittv.com
I'm afriad i'm going to need a little step by step direction
here.
There is suppose to be a 5 second flash banner/intro i built
up at the very top.
All I see is an empty brown box where it's suppose to be.
I have everything uploaded to the server. The rendered html
and the swf files.
I thought I had all the paths right.
One other piece of trouble I'm having is when I go to press
play in the Properties inspector, same thing. nothing plays. just
an empty brown box.
what am i doing wrong?

I think it's stuck on some opening frame. Right click on the
brown area and select Play.

  • Flash player won't play on home pages

My flash player won't play on my browser's home pages.  My OS is : windows 7 64 bit ultimate and my browsers are :  Mozilla,Chrome, and IE.  I have owned this machine since laborday 2012 and all of them worked in the begining.  This has been going on for a couple of weeks and I would like to resolve it.  Video works normally in places such as youtube, but will not run on the browsers home pages.  The strange part of it is that it will run the advertisements, but after that is done it will just set there with the loading icon going for awhile until a message come on that states that the stream could not be found.  I just got done checking each browser to see if the players are up to date and they all where current..  Don't know what else to try.  Any suggestions ?  Thanks

  • Have reset Firefox & completed all of steps in "Flash video won't play full screen on YouTube, Facebook and other websites", but video still won't work. Help!

I have reset Firefox, completed all the steps in "flash video won't play full screen on YouTube, Facebook and other websites". And the video still won't play in full screen. It will play, but frequently stops or sound continues and picture freezes. I have noticed that if I continually move my mouse, it plays fine. All these videos play fine in IE and Chrome.

Some problems with Flash video playback can be resolved by disabling hardware acceleration in your Flash Player settings. (See [[Flash Plugin - Keep it up to date and troubleshoot problems|this article]] for more information on using the Flash plugin in Firefox).
To disable hardware acceleration in Flash Player:
#Go to this [http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/video-playback-issues.html#main_Solve_video_playback_issues Adobe Flash Player Help page].
#Right-click on the Flash Player logo on that page.
#Click on '''Settings''' in the context menu. The Adobe Flash Player Settings screen will open.
    # Click on the icon at the bottom-left of the Adobe Flash Player Settings window to open the Display panel. <br/> <br/>[[Image:fpSettings1.PNG]] <br/>
    # Remove the check mark from '''Enable hardware acceleration'''.
    # Click '''Close''' to close the Adobe Flash Player Settings Window.
    # Restart Firefox.
This [http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/help01.html Flash Player Help - Display Settings page] has more information on Flash Player hardware acceleration, if you're interested.
Does this solve the problem? Let us know.

  • HT5271 Downloaded latest Apple updates that informed me old versions of Adobe Flash Player were disabled and advised me to go to Adobe and down load latest version of Flash Player. Did that, but Flash Player won't play swf files, which it did before.

Downloaded latest Safari update that informed me that older versions of Adobe Flash Player were being disabled and then advised me to go to Adobe and down load latest version of Flash Player. Did that, but Flash Player won't play swf files, which it did before. (Instead of opening, it comes up as a page of code).

    Hi..
    Quit Safari.
Open System Preferences > Flash Player then select the Advanced tab.
    Click:  Delete All
    Now select the Storage tab.
    Click Delete All
    Relaunch Safari to test.

  • Flash player won't play videos in safari after I've installed Lion does anyone have a solution?

    Hi,
I've installed Lion after which Flash Player won't play videos with Safari. I keep being prompted to download and install the latest version of Flash Player whcih I've done several times. Can someone please help me fix this.
I find Adobe's announcement that there are no issues with Flash Player and Lion a bit of a sick joke.
    Many thanks,
    Ian Pickering

This sounds like the problems that Adobe have reported which are listed at
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/905/cpsid_90508.html#main_Flash_Player
I only use flash for watching video clips on the BBC website so haven't been affected by these other issues. The text below is copied from the website at the above link. Hope this helps.
The Flash Player Settings dialog box doesn't respond to mouse clicks. As a workaround, press the Tab key to move to the Close button and press the spacebar to close the dialog box. While not all settings are available, you can also use the Flash Player native control panel in System Preferences.
Custom native mouse cursors don't animate properly on Mac OS 10.7.

    How 2 fix plz.

i am able to reproduce the issue and it is an injection from 11.1.  a public bug has been created.  please go and vote for the issue.  thanks.

  • Flash movie won't play in PowerPoint

I have created a flash movie, however, when I try to view the
slideshow, all I see is a blank page. I have installed the most
updated Active Controls and the Shockwave Player, but it still
    won't play.

Right click. Open up the properties of the embedded swf.
Change 'Playing' to True. Close properties.
Careful, this may not last. I think it automatically reverts
    to "playing = Flase"

  • Flash content won't play if HTML is in a different directory

I have a flash CS3 slideshow that loads it's content from an
external .xml file. If I export the HTML it plays fine, but if I
move the HTML to the site root directory and let dreamweaver update
the links the flash slideshow will not play.
    my site is at:
    http://www.heavensexpress.org
the flash with the .xml is in
    http://www.heavensexpress.org/flash

Flash looks at the current location of the HTML page for the
start of any relative paths. So, if your SWF is in a different
location from the HTML, you will want to use server-relative paths
    ("/path/to/xml.xml") or absolute paths ("
    http://www.mysite.com/path/to/xml.xml")
    in the Flash.
If you don't want to change the SWF, move the XML and any
other files relative to the root of the server, and you will be in
    business.

  • Flash videos won't play under one id

    Hi,
I've looked thru many of the discussion here and am drawing a blank.  I'm running Lion 10.7.1 on a MacBook Pro (older 2.2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 2G RAM) and have tried the following to get flash videos to work under my ID (e.g. NFL.com, Yahoo, YouTube).
         Repair disk permissions
Uninstall and reinstall Flash (currently at 10.3.183.7)
         Latest software updates applied
         Reset Safari
Also tried Opera, Firefox and Chrome and videos do not play there either.
System settings, Firewall, System Preferences and Safari Preferences all seem the same under both ID's.
         ClamXav security shutdown
Flash videos will not play under my ID.  Now if I switch to a guest account these same videos will play.
Under my ID I get the loading circle on Yahoo and nothing more.  On NFL.com I get the commercials but not the videos.
So clearly something under my ID is blocking this but I've got no clue what this might be.
Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

Flash storage was not at zero so that was not it.  I'd checked those every time to make sure wasn't getting reset.
BUT...things have taken an interesting turn.  After using 9.0 xxx versions trying to find a combination that would work on ESPN.com, NFL.com, and YouTube videos and finding that 9.0 r xxx would work on some but not all, 10 would not work on NFL.com, then finding ESPN stopped working (it had been for me previously) I started to look around a bit more.  After many installs of different versions, reboots and so on, I now have all things working.  The latest today was trying to install an older version of 9.0 r 115 as being requested by YouTube.  The .dmg file was in a zip and I started it with a terminal window.  When running that it displayed several error messages pointing to ~/Library/Preferences/Macromedia which had a couple of directories dating back to 2008.  The items there were
         #SharedObjects
         macromedia.com
         www.macromedia.com
While I admit that I was pretty much giving up and was not as methodical about doing things as I had been previously (removing one thing, retrying, then doing the next), I ran the Flash uninstaller to remove the 9.0 r 115 verision, then removed these three directories, restarted my machine and then reinstalled the latest version of Flash.  YouTube, ESPN and NFL videos all now work.  I'm almost afraid to restart my machine.  But I appreciate the help that all have offered and I while I cannot pinpoint the correction to removing the above 3 files, that seems to have done it.  One thing to note too, was just prior to doing the above I checked the Guest account that was working on NFL.com and YouTube was not working today.  I've not checked it again after getting my primary ID working but will do so and if an issue will post back.
I am happy that I'm able to finally see videos on the sites that I hit!! Yay!!
(of course I was close to convincing my wife to allow me to buy a new Mac, but alas....) :-)
OK - just checked the guest account and all three work there as well.  So back to a good place.

  • Flash Movie won't Play

    Good Morning,
I'm sure someone may have asked about this already but...
I'm running Safari 4.0.2 On OS 10.5.7. I am putting my portfolio page (html) onto a CD to make copies to mail out. One of the pieces that I am showing on the html page is an flash animation that I designed.
When I click the link in my page that opens the animation in a separate html page, the flash animation proceeds to play fine...in Firefox, but when I click the link in Safari... I get a blank pop up and the folder containing the actual .swf file pops up.
Not sure what's going on. the .swf plays in all other browsers except Safari. I've checked Safari prefs. and enable plugins is selected.
    Any ideas.
    Thanks

Do you have Adobe Shockwave Player?

  • Flash 9 won't play my Captivate 2 published videos

I recently received a new computer at work. We create videos
with Captivate 2, and the latest versions of Flash (9.115) and
Shockwave (10) are installed on the computer. Creating the videos
is no problem, but when I Publish them, Flash 9 or Shockwave 10,
I'm not sure, will not play the published .swf files. When I try to
choose "Open With" I cannot find a file on my computer that is the
actual Flash Player. When I click on the file to open it, it gives
me an Adobe message that asks me to download an update. I download
the update, and it says it was successful and the new version will
be available after Restart. But when I restart and try it again, I
get the same update message over and over again. It still works on
my old computer, which has Flash 9.0.47.0 and Shockwave 10.2.0.23.
I'm intentionally dismissihng the update notifications that I
receive on my old computer for fear getting the same error.
Any suggestions? I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling
Captivate, Flash, and Shockwave, and I've tried downloading the
older versions of Flash and Shockwave. I can not find a download
for Flash 7.0 r14, which is what my old computer opens the .swf
files with, even though in Add of Remove Programs the Flash Player
    says 9.0.47.0.
    Thanks in advance!

I'm not sure if this is related to the same problem, but I'm
using DW CS3 and now when I embed a swf file into the html, I can
preview on my computer locally, however when I post on the hosting
server, the swf file does not appear. I've tried two separate
servers and I've received the same results. I've even created a new
html file and simply embeded the swf file and uploaded to server,
same results. Now here's the kicker: If I type the url and point it
directly to the swf file, it does play in the browser, for example:
    http://bald-head-island-rental.net/flash/Movie1.swf
If you take a look at the index page where the swf file
should be embedded, you won't see this same file:
    http://bald-head-island-rental.net
The file should play just above "Owners: Aaron and Kelly Williams"
    Thanks!

  • Flash movie won't play on testing or remote server in web page

I have a Flash slideshow that will only play in a browser if I click File > Open and open the .swf file locally and directly (not in a web page). It has never played in a webpage, remotely on the web server or locally on the Wamp server. It plays correctly in Flash when I test it.
I have tried uploading the HTML page that Flash generates (without any changes), and it won't even play in that file. I have also tried using Dreamweaver's "Insert Flash" feature, and that was no good either.
Here is the direct link to the .swf:

    Thanks so much!

    No, unfortunately, that didn't work.
BTW, I had to move the files because I now have a 500 error on the original directory due to my first attempt at installing CMS. (I will be getting my money back for that software.) Here is the location of the new stuff:

  • Flash movie won't play on the web server.

It plays locally just fine. I used Flash and Dreamweaver to
create the HTML code and neither have worked. I have all of the
flash and html elements in the same folder on the server so I'm
assuming it's not a path issue.

    hi there,
when u find the answer, plz let me know! :D
i have been pullin my hair out 2 for ages. I think i have a
    similar problem to urs.
My website previews perfectly when i test in flash.
functionality is fine. but when i upload to my server, the FLV
playback screws up. i.e comes in when its not suppose to and doesnt
    reset. (keeps layering the audio)
i think it "may" have something to do with my web host server
settings. i have tried adding a FLV mime extension. no good! ...and
also think the html might have to have an absolute location for the
file. i.e it can't find the file on the server as it can while
playing locally. good luck! n like i said, let me know if u find a
    solution plz! ronnie

  • Flash still won't play files in Firefox 4, even with latest version 10

Despite what a Firefox support article states, Adobe Flash will not play videos in Firefox 4, even after Flash has been upgraded to the most recent version of Flash 10 (10.3.181.14). That is because the problem is not with Flash, it is in fact a problem with Firefox 4 (what a surprise!). After trying all the useless suggestions here, I finally just went back to Firefox 3.16. Flash had always worked for me prior to switching to Firefox 4. Sure enough, no sooner did I go back to 3.16, Flash immediately began playing videos properly again. Same latest version of Flash, old version of Firefox equal proper video operation. Any version of Flash, Firefox 4 equals no videos play.

I've upgraded from flash 10.0.45 to 11.2.202.235, using Synaptic.
Then, when i saw it didn't work, i've returned to 10.0.45 and upgraded it to 11.2.202.233, no success.
There is an screenshot from a Youtube page, as you can see the video doesn't work, even if i wait a few minutes...
